It always fascinates me how some runways have dips and hills in them, they look so flat until you look at them lengthwise..
yes that one was really undulated. surprised that's allowed.
It's the telephoto compression. Actual slope is likely under 1%, which is still a lot in jet operation terms.
Railroad tracks are the same way.
@@marcmcreynolds2827 the plane looks like a rollercoaster. no way 1%.
@@fredsmith6324 The FAA limit is IIRC 1.5%. I don't know what airport that is, but let's say an 8000 ft runway so each of those upslopes or downslopes is around 1500 ft long. Top of the fuselage is about 17 ft. At the bottom of the dip just before liftoff it doesn't look like the fuselage would be completely hidden from a near-ground-level observer, but let's say yup it just barely would. Then a rough approximation is 17/1500 = 1.1% slope.
Welcome to telephoto compression, where "looks like" isn't "is". There's a great video of a DC-10 (MD-10?) landing in San Diego, shot from nearly down-the-runway almost two miles away, which gives the appearance that only a couple of thousand feet was used even though looking at the runway markers it was closer to eight thousand.
The noise and feeling in the chest during the F16 on afterburner must have been fantastic!!😮
Hope they have something better than just regular ear protection.
@@dave161141 Yep, with the afterburner it might be ~130db, and easily more from close. Regular earplugs muffle ca. 28 db. So, that leaves ~100db which is still dangerous.
@@dave161141 yes indeed!🥴
Fitted earplugs and extra heavy duty air defenders. Still probably so loud to go straight through your skull and into your ears and get hearing damage.
@@MeppyManwouldnt that be dangerous to intestines too?
I remember being in a Ryan air plane struggling to take off, it was horrendous, we swerved across the runway so much but it was fine in the end.
ryanair in a nutshell
@@Neodel Yeah lol
Really put a lot of trust in that tether to get under the plane like that.
Yes, seemed a little risky and unnecessary
@@canofanger I thought that too. No way would you get me going under an F-16 at full throttle with AFB. Not only are you relying on brakes/chocks/traps, but the the intakes are not far away from you at very low pressure, plus the risks of turbine/disc failurem fire, etc..
I was a US Air Force aviation meteorologist for decades. Our CWC (crosswind component) for takeoff was 25 knots. I have shut down many runways when winds were out of tolerance.
@@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1 Get bent
I remember landing at Laughlin, NV airport in one of those teeny jets that hold only about 15-20 passengers. The pilot was really young, and the plane was just spanking shiny and new… Anyways, on landing, an air gust jerked this little jet all around and we were just ALL OVER on the place trying to get those three wheels to stay on the ground…
It’s funny how QUIET all of the Laughlin partygoers got in one second. I mean we filed off in stone silence. This big ole’ man-boy pilot came out looking all sheepish and apologized to everyone…
“It just went around!! It just went AROUND!!!”
Never seen an a380 go around that was amazing
Great video brother from the imperial county California 👍 and have a happy new year 🎊🎊
Another reason why i love a380. So smooth
Hope that everyone has a healthy and happy 2024 !
"Missed the runway?" More like "Missed the approach."
Notice the size of the A380 at 0:49 compared to what looks like an Embraer 190.
It's TAP so I guess its a 190 yes
It looks like a pedal car next to Dad's car.
I was going to comment on the same thing. The size difference is quite striking between the two aircraft.
@@ianmoone6562 tap have 195 too
What makes this really striking for me is that earlier this year, I managed to see a Lineage 1000 (the Business Jet variant) take off at the airport just across the street while walking and it looked huge just for me in comparison to all the Cessnas I usually see. I can't imagine just how imposing the A380 is in person.
On the 2nd clip I was so stressed when the guy went under the plane 😬😬
That S turn performed by southwest... I'm surprised their company allows that at all. Company policy might have something to say about "stabilized approach criteria" that must be met during each landing but I'm not sure...
If you maintain Vapp and the proper descent profile, S-turns are permitted if the crew is satisfied with the visibility and flight conditions. You need to complete it by 500'AGL. S-turns don't help much unless you pull 30° from the approach heading and immediately correct back. You need to assure safe separation from terrain, obstacles and traffic. I did one going into ATL on a visual approach to 8L (runway heading 092°). Just after the outer marker tower cleared us for an S-turn to the north (away from 8R departures and the south runway complex). It was a smooth VMC day. Turned left to 060° and immediately rolled right to rejoin the centerline extended. Preceding traffic cleared as we came up on the approach lights. Wouldn't consider it at night in the rain or if unfamiliar with the airport environment. Cheers
@@gerardmoran9560 kudos to you, that's some sick skills
@@sabinhong0307 Thanks, but it's easier in a modern transport category jet than in a light single. We have high wing loadings, hydraulic flight controls and last but not least a yaw damper.
Policy is wings level by 500’. S turns not a big deal.

Bro in the first clip I thought he was going to land in the water 😭💀
i thought so too😭

I thought it was landing in Madeira! Not in Nice!
And combo we have an A320 operated by TAP Portugal!😂
Мужик так обыденно зашел под F-16 на форсаже, будто в гараже у бати, когда заметил, что карбюратор богатит и надо чуть подкрутить смесь.
1:22 when anything clenches like that, watch out for what's coming out!
Feliz ano novo 👍🏼😉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Tickets are available here in Wichita if you want to ride in 'Doc' the B-29 in March.
1:27 That dude better hope that Tapcon holds.
Same thing happened to us when we were flying into Acupulco! We were on Mexicana. He missed the runway and had to do a go around. The pilot told us what happened.
Happy new year 2024🎉
This series had many nerve wracking moments than any other : )
1:08 ryanair hired this pilot.
I thought, by the image, that the Emirates A380 was landing in Madeira!😮
Was I the only one?
Definitely not France...However , unless this is old footage Emirates don't fly into Madeira on A380
Happy New Years
First clip:
State of art the A380 with the French landscape
The clip at 1:54 I was watching a different stream of the same airport, same runway. Basically, I saw it live
Was that thrilling for you?
Whenever I see a plane do this 0:58, I always wonder if they were Navy Fighter Pilots?
Most of them might be ex navy fighter pilots
@jasonw98 I truly believe they are. Once, I was flying on United Airlines flight from LA to Vegas, and we experienced a hard landing. The pilot turned out to be a former Navy Fighter Pilot, and he forgot that he was flying commercial. He apologized to everyone as we was exiting the plane.
Seems like some serious wind shear for the first two.
При подозрении на присутствие сдвига ветра в зоне посадки следует запрет на выполнение посадочных маневров.
This channel vited number one for most and best CLICK BATE TITLES !🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
I love how the guy at 2:04 comments it like its a sports game, lmao
I had no idea that there were channels & full-time jobs doing that gig 😂
When the weather is crazy the landing should be rough. It doesn't mean the pilot is weak.
In the first clip if you nose dived to the runway you will gain a lot of speed and overrun the runway
I've noticed that Emirates often has basic piloting difficulties like this.
Why is that?
nah
Maybe it's a fluke, just seems like there have been a rash of videos lately involving them for basic skill stuff like this.
Yoz should notice, that this is a fake video. Gameplay
@@africanblue no it’s not it’s at an airport called “nice airport”
1:35 RIP ears
True story - I was flying back from London to LAX in the mid 80s, and the flight was pretty uneventful until we were about to land. I was looking out the window, and I could see the tarmac very clearly as we are about to touchdown, when suddenly the pilot cranked on the engines and started to rise up.
I turned around and saw the flight attendant who was totally scared, so I knew something wasn’t right we headed back out over the Pacific Ocean and we banked sharply to the right. As we banked, it was on my side of the aircraft, I looked out of the window, and I could see the reason why we did not land.
We had a very near miss with another aircraft that was taking off. I was looking out of my window and I could see, the other aircraft and, it was so clear how close we were. I could see the pilots sunglasses and white shirt and tie as we passed in front of that aircraft.
Needless to say, it’s scared the living shit out of me.
I had a similar experience at Melbourne Airport in 1978, not nice , but we survived😮
Im just gonna say it because it annoys me: NO PART OF THE AIRPORT IS CALLED A TARMAC
@@xtraviationIn the Marines that’s what we call it.

Is the first one Cote d Azur?
Shouldve seen the a380 at bhx the past couple of storms weve had it was in the sky for hours due to 3 attempts
Wow
How was your day honey?
What?
How was your day?
What?
How was work?
Awesome babe!!! I crawled under an F-16 while it had it's after burners on!!
The plane on the taxiway in the first video makes the A380 look ridiculous in size
I wish I was there during the F-16 engine test, and that I also had a marshmallow on a stick at hand
1:09 Ryanair your hired 💀💀
Yeah, I reckon the A380 received a lot of lift of that hill behind the runway. Quite common.
What? 🤣🤣. No.
Nowhere near that hill. Its Nice LFMN on the Cote d' Azure, a place I go to on my summer holidays. You'll love it
Nice can be a bit tricky. Don’t think he 'missed' the runway. Just unstable I suspect (a bit fast or high or whatever).
You have to hit your mark or you're in the sea. Also depends on which runway chosen (2.57 or 2.99km). The same plane lands at Glasgow (GLA) on a 2.6km runway length and I still can't believe they manage to do it, never mind take off again. It's one of those plane you just stop what you're doing an watch. Love it.
This new generation of ATC's makes me nervous.
bro, me too I actually thought he was gonna land in the water too bro
Emirates 😮 didn't expect this
was that a real pilot in the A380 ?
@@em945it’s not that embarrassing it’s a normal procedure
No, because the whole video is fake.
why do you think it's fake ?
@@africanblue
Send the crew to the simulator for more training..
Simulator is the key word to this video. Think hard about it.
That Ryan Air didn't look to have its flaps down much if at all.
Could be to avoid the wind catching it more than it already was?
I'm not a pilot so I don't know the procedures
The 737 often takes off with as little as 1 degree of flap extension. On landing it uses between 30 and 40 degrees so it looks very different.
So- what was the problem with the A380? That's a fricken normal maneuver.
people think go-arounds are dangerous when of course they are not and often a sign of a good pilot using good judgement. the go-around of an aircraft for a variety of reasons happens at every major airport several times a day all around the world... it's ALWAYS a good thing and not a reason to be critical of the pilots at all. the horrible pilots are the ones who force a landing they shouldn't.
the size difference in the aircraft on hold and the a380 in the second attempt.🤣🤣
The term “hard landing” is frequently misused. That a321 had at best a runway adventure.
1:25 TCS members know what i mean when i say FWEEEEP!!!!
3:03 ,Ryan air😂😂😂😂they r struggling in everything
No, not a butter landing, a hammer landing.
Is that in port Louis
What airport was that Ryanair takeoff from?
Looks like Leeds.
It was Birmingham (BHX)
Emirates pilots are very good, the pilot went around well in advance, this is a good indication that he/she is situationally very aware, correct decision well in advance. That is a good pilot
Why is the left wing of the F60 up in the air?
Looks like all those pilots were trained in Australia's backyard flying school...
F16 I love you
Note to self, never get on an aeroplane again!!!!
Oops, that’s expensive. Back to flying Pipers and Cessna’s for this ducky.
@Airline Videos with the ESPN play by play / colour commentary. LOL.
Those folks look awfully close to the F-16 engine! Yikes!
They have channels just of airports with live commentary???!?!
"Missing the runway" usually means laterally. More non-idiomatic writing. And was that a hard landing or a bounced landing?
Can you tell me from where I can buy that F16 heater for this winters.....I asked amazon people they disabled my account.
Missing the runway implies landing on something other than the runway. The title of this video is very misleading. The A380 performs a go around would be more like it. It also looks like the second landing attempt, pilot floats down the runway for a bit. Bet those thrust reverses we cranked and those brakes were hot. Still I enjoy these videos ❤
1:43 what is strong enough to hold that jet in place?? someone explain
Chocks and chain.
Charles Bronson
It probably can do it with the brakes only and chalk blocks.
Please, don't put a miniature in the middle of the screen blocking the end of the video
Not one of them brought a pack of sausages to the BBQ!?
1st clip had a Kai tak ahh landing
Is the first one Nice Airport?
jeju! most busy airport inthe world
No ILS approach?
Call it 3 gallons per second.
That korean air plane turned into ryanair
The second clip felt like rayenair💀
11 litr fuel in 1 sec😊😊😊
The pilot didnt miss the runway like it was some sort of error.
2:50 Is this a game or something? That ATC needs to be questioned.
1:08 : 아파...
Oh my! Emirates did so badly! It missed touchdown zone by so much! I think i lie Singapore Airlines more now. Its Underrated and really good! Moreover im Singaporean
KoRyan Air, amirite
love your content bro do you have a discord we can join?
It’s there in the video description
A320neo not a321 (it has 2 doors over the wing)
1:01 that is an a321neo…. If you didn’t notice, it has a double slotted flap which is NOT included on the normal a320. You can tell it has a double slotted flap because of the extra fairings that are smaller than the main ones. Not only that…. the a321 you saw is stretched a bit and longer than a normal a320. NOT ONLY THAT….. the a321neo ALSO has 2 over wing exits and an extra emergency exit behind that (which is really hard to see in the video). NOT ONLY THATTTTTTT……. you can clearly see that there are more windows than usual. ITS AN A321NEO. don’t worry tho, everyone makes mistakes so I hope this helps
dang bro didnt really need the ted talk but thanks ig..?@@Asndsn_P

Holy smokes the Emirates was too high up even at 2 nd attept
Comming in high, declaread a missed approach and go-around, a show of fine decisition making, and responsable safety procedures enforced by the company
Brù, Was let down 2nd approach not showed would of been so Cool when do you see an Airbus A380 come in for an approach liked that 🤫😉Emirates A380 coming in for 2nd approach, A steeper, A bit Lower Then just stable as she is, 2nd landing pulled it off Captain/1st Officer, as they say in car racers, There good Pilots!, imagine how close that plane was to the water turning so smoothly downwards to line up with runway, 2nd landing spot on, but would of liked to see whole 2nd approach & line up at tha low to sea level #a380superblowleavlingfly💚
I thought these aircraft were”fly by wire,” meaning gps guided.
Fly by wire just means there’s an electrical signal being sent to the flight surfaces to manipulate them as opposed to mechanical flying where it’s proper wires and cables being pulled. Regardless flying now has a lot more computer integration
Not Good for Emirate Airlines especially when they are on a schedule flight after 12 to 14 hours setting
why is not good for them? a go around is a normal procedure and it’s just a mistake they made, the pilot is still a human.
