2:22 This Ryanair Boeing 737 made a beautiful golden hour approach ending with a completely usual Ryanair touchdown.
Wham! Bam! We’re down, ma’am.
2:55 my voice when it's time to pay the bills
lmfao that was funnier than it should have been
Ahh fuck. Thanks for reminding me I have 3 I have to pay.
I am stupid
its time to pay the damn bills
Looks like someone had already nicked the diesel particulate filters off the Air India 747.
If it’s running on diesel then they’re going to have a bad day 😂
DPF delete and stage 2 tune on the 747
Definitely diesel
@@youtubestolemyhandle1 the problem with jokes like this is that plenty of people will think you’re serious. That’s how we get flat earthers. Lol.
@@MeppyMantechnically, jet a and diesel are very close. I used to fly learjet 25s and if you found yourself in a place without jet fuel, you were allowed to use diesel. However, you had to stay below 25000 feet and an engine inspection was required within 10 hours I think.
Usually runway number is not mentioned during go around.ATC confused the pilots.
Yeah what's the point of mentioning runway numbers while instructing a go around ?
For example, when they have multiple active runway ? But yeah in that case, it wasn't necessary
Pretty sure he was confused anyway lol.
@@nightowl8163 Right. Go around should be interpreted as just that, regardless of the runway you are approaching.
Yeah, go around and clear to land sounds so fking similar, they might even spell the same with CCP
I was a tower controller at Gatwick and told a Chinese aircraft his undercarriage was on fire after landing. He did not understand and kept asking me to repeat. I had called out the fire service and they were chasing him to put the fire out. The only word he understood was STOP!
One of the other bases for my flight school has a chinese pilot program, from what I heard from people that went visiting that base 😂😂😂 they don’t even have working proficiency in English 😂😂😂 ahhh safety is an illusion
The ATC saying "go around runway 14" didn't help either
French standard phraseology for a GA is notoriously bad, even giving the wind so it sounds near identical to landing clearance. The UK one is the best in the world “China Eastern go around, I say again go around, acknowledge”
You could simply say STOP, don't complicat you language to foreigners bro. "Undercarriage fire" could simply be replaced with "Fire"
Are you saying ATC should anticipate foreign flight crews operating illegally with lower than ICAO standard level 4 English proficiency?
Hate seeing the 747s being retired. Queen of the Skies!
I used to think the same. But I regularly fly Chile to Australia and the 787 is much better.
Incredible the flex on the wings of the 747 when it waved.
What 747 ?

Imagine an airline has the landing skills as Ryanair, language capability as China Eastern, cabin service as United😂
As long as it doesn't overload like Aerosucre it'll be fine
Sounds like AirFrance
You have not experienced the likes of Spicejet GoAir Indigo yet.
United might feel like royal private planes in comparison
That 747 was unusually smoky!!
it wasnt flown in a long time, it was in storage, rip.
You could say that it was a challenging landing for that Challenger 300.
Ryanair and a rough touchdown - name a more iconic duo
Aerosucre and overweight takeoffs
Such a dumb ''i want to be funny'' comment. No, not funny and not true.
I don't know in general, but that touchdown was not rough at all.
@@tinchotethe guy screaming at 2:55 says otherwise
@@ldine783 Right. Who better qualified to grade landings than a passenger in a commercial flight.
1:31 excited to see a clip from my livestream been used on this excellent channel👍🏻
Cool one mate!
2:27 Ofcourse its ryanair! what did you expect?
Ryanair has amazing pilots. Unfortunately it's the passengers. I'm pretty sure MentorPilot is an instructor and an assesser for them.
My worst plane for heavy landings are 787's. Apart from one captain who flew an Etihad 787 from Ams to Auh. He was actually a good captain all around
@@helenmiddlemas5075 Sorry but the passengers don't fly and land the aircraft. The only reason for landing that rough is ineptitude.
@@ImpendingJoker No, at RyanAir you can get a discount ticket by booking seat 0A or 0B and flying the aircraft. It's absolutely the passengers' faults, you just have to be glad you landed on the runway
@@ImpendingJokerdoesn’t look like a rough landing at all… surely on the firmer side but nothing crazy.
Hey there !
Ryanair do have firmer landing than some other airlines but that is done on purpose.
1st) Ryanair is a low cost airline, to keep the low price of their flight, they land at smaller airports, meaning a smaller runway.
2nd) Ryanair pilot turnaround are 15 mins. That's a short time meaning that any time in the air is a time that could be take for the turnaround. A longer float, a smooth landing or even a Go-Around aren't affordable for the company.
3rd) The 737 wasn't meant to land smoothly, it was designed to land at every commercial airport. A firm landing make the plane slow down faster.
That's all the reason for Ryanair to land hard.
By the way, a fun fact you need to know is that Ryanair have a really strict rule and not a lot of pilots can join the company. Ryanair are on the top 15 of the best pilots of Europe.
And of course, I can't stop this message without this..
*"A good landing is a landing you can walk from"*
Hope it helped ya !
2:16 Once "Queen of the sky"
Not once, still is.
" Ending with a rough touchdown". Ryanair never disappoints
Great to watch your channel!
At 0:24 Just say: China Eastern 2035 go around!!! Why making things complicated🙄
I agree with you. To the pilot defense, it wasn't very very clear.
Nice video
Exzellent Video
Ryanair never disappoints to disappoint.
Great video
1:57 I think Ryanair plane in the background got mad because of how smooth that landing was 😂
i was there for the air india 747 farewell. cried
the stank in this airplane would have made you cry aswell..
@@stefanmaurer9945 😹😹🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 dude’s so funny
That air traffic controller had a very poor English pronunciation and I could barely understand her. No wonder the pilot didn't get it. They should replace that lady, sorry.
Exactly. Sounded like a call center scammer mumbling
the pronunciation sounded fine, there's just a strong accent. At least the words and letters sound close to how they should be said, can't say the same for some Aussie or Kiwi folks.
vowel phrasing in bengali language is a bit different from other languages. For instances water is pronounced as u-a-ter..the v sound is pronounced as bhi ..the runway is pronounced as r-aa-n-uay
I had to re listen bc you said “golden hour” and i heard “something else” lol
The Challenger 300 had very small ailerons for its size. That doesn’t make a bad crosswind landing any easier.
On the 747 waving it's wings......you could see the yaw damper canceling out the adverse yaw with the rudder. Totally fascinating.
AA: Your landings are too hard. You need more training.
Etihad: Your landings need to be perfect, or you’re fired.
RyanAir: We pay you to land the plane, so land the got-dam plane!
A close call indeed
Lots of black smoke from that Air India 747.
That Ryanair landing is not rough at all. Absolutely perfect landing.
That's my hometown where pilot refused to go around.
"This ryanair 737 made a beautiful golden hour approach... ENDING IN A ROUGH TOUCHDOWN" well...can't say i wasn't expecting that
"a rough touchdown"
you mean a standard ryanair landing
I wonder how long the suspension (and I use this word because I don't know what's the correct one for planes is) last in their planes since they tend to frequently land this way
miss you AIR INDIA 747 VT-EVA
Learned from ryanair, no go arounds
Planes are important as well as scary
He got it wong lol
Why Ryanair is always about rough landing?
Because that is how the 737 is designed to be landed.
No surprise at all.
0:18 this reminded me of that Air China guy at JFK
2:55 wilhelm scream 😭
1:56 That Challenger pilot was just showing off for the Ryanair flight on the taxi way.
Stop specifing the goddamn runway! KISS
It seems that Ryanair uses much higher speeds during landings compared to other airlines.
Not just Ryan Air having hard landing, other Airlines also had the same issue only for the B737 series.. Pilots with B737 had to do hard landing and hard braking in order to grip on the runaway tarmac due to strong wind and bad weather condition.. B737 has a lower center of gravity compared to the other Boeing Series..
Why say the 380 damaged its nose wheel? Just by the video, there is no way to judge if the gear was damaged. It looks like they just slid the tires. It happens
How did a 747-400 have that much smoke coming from the engines? That's the kind of thing you associate with the first generation of high bypass turbofans, or earlier turbojets.
Quality fuel? Lol.
The aircraft was grounded for few years. Not sure if that was a contributing factor for the smoke.
First video i think is a pretty bad misunderstanding by the China Eastern pilots. Little bit of Tokyo Drift for the private jet in the 3rd clip. 4th clip is amazing🤩and the 5th clip made me laugh😂because it's Ryanair.
That is exquisite camera work at 1:38 where there's traffic passing in front, but the camera stays locked on to the plane.
Some focused camera work🤣
I wouldn’t rave about it.
@@inncogneato6341 I’m not, hence the, 🤣
Air India and Ryannair still in line with old traditions
1:21 you should’ve seen the Singapore Airlines one. It was worse than this one. It’s on RUclips somewhere.
You could tell that 747 had lived its life and needed to retire.
Boeing itself needs to retire their entire passenger plane business.
"Nay nay vave karo", lol!
2:03 - diesel power ❤️
not sure how go around got translated to clear to land, pretty basic control communications used worldwide.
Easy, that’s why we are using standard phraseology.
Had to be because they kept saying the runway number
Except for the fact the indian lady was totally unintelligable. Mumbling like a fool.
@@ronwyckoff824 Still of the opinion that the only correct way is how we do it here in the UK, kGo Around, I say again Go Around, Acknowledge”
No reason for her to overcomplicate it with the runway number and “discontinue”
That sure puckered my butt! @1:51
😮
1:12 Damaging its nose wheel? Looks like it burned a bit of rubber off the tire.
I am stupid
that Challenger really wanted to be on the ground.
2:28 you can just say "touchdown" after saying "RyanAir"
"a beautiful golden hour approach" was enough.
Rest is understood if it is Ryanair
Funny how the a380 was going to “fast” proceeded to do a super slow turn but I guess not slow enough for an a380
U usually dont mention runway while instructing to go around
I'm sure there was a language issue, but it's also not difficult to see why the phrases "Go around" and "Cleared to land" could be confused in a noisy environment, especially where one is expected and the other not. For safety's sake, one of these standard phrases should probably be changed now rather than waiting for the confusion to cause a disaster, and merely responding to the recommendations in the subsequent report.
That A380 did not make the error of a bad turn. It was a botched attempt to do doughnuts with an A380.
2:22 A rare footage of smooth Ryanair landing leaked at last
Landing at full cruising speed as usual!
ICAO 5 should be the bare minimum for Part 121 Ops.
Next time try, "GO Ah ROUND !! GO Ah ROUND !! GO Ah ROUND !! GO Ah ROUND !! GO Ah ROUND GO Ah ROUND..." endlessly until he does so.
W vid keep the work up
No Aerosucre???
Probably that Chiinese pilot has an English ICAO 3,
Just my opinion but, whoever is landing the aircraft (Either the Captain or F.O.) has the final call. If there’s another aircraft on the runway, whether or not the tower tells the pilot to go around, the cockpit crew has eyes on the runway and the decision should be obvious.
what we all expect from ryanair landing xD
0:00 That's what happens when you learn by rote, not by actually learning.
Ryanair Pilots are Fired
This is why standard phraseology is extremely important. Can't blame the Chinese pilots entirely for misunderstanding the instruction.
Her voice was difficult to understand.
What do Air India use for fuel? Coal?
charcoal.
grounded for almost 2 years
2035 going around/2035 going around fly runway heading/2035 cancel landing clearance/2035 execute missed approach
I wonder how Kennedy Steve would have reacted to the Chinese pilots
I am from Bangladesh and the first clip was recorded in my country😅🤣 Dhaka ATC be like😂
Why its always hard landings and Ryanair with one case
Ryan air making a hard landing.... well, of course. Were you expecting anything else?
Almost lost in translation
“Why are they retiring the jet that’s 40 years old and spewing smoke out its engines????”-yall
Miscommunication and not understanding English could kill all of the passengers onboard.. this is insane and ridiculous..
Am I missing something? It seems many of the misunderstandings seem to be from a lack of command of the English language? Or is it the lack of clarity of the radio transmission? Would an AI program not be too expensive to transcribe the directions and have the copilot read them?
I think it was use of the runway number.
Every ATC in each part of the world speaks “English “ with their own accent. In this case a very heavy Indian accent!
