These super duty’s are awesome. Honestly for what you get they are a good deal. You couldn’t buy a rifle of comparable quality and put all the Geissele parts and surefire muzzle device for close to the same price. The coating on the REBCG is great too. I love my 11.5”. Mine came with a surefire CTN warcomp though.
If it’s in your budget, I would jump on it ASAP man! I know you won’t be disappointed. It is by far the best rifle I own in all categories I typically judge ARs on. The finish is great, the fitment of parts is great and above all the way all of it functions together is great! Pretty sure I mentioned it in the video, maybe not, but the first thing I noticed about it was the smoothness of the finish. It’s just different.
@@GunBoxTherapy I got them down to $1900 today. Going to run my Razor gen2E 1x6 on it. Your review definitely helped lean me towards getting it. I am sure I won't be disappointed when I get to the range with it.
Congrats man! Went out today and shot 200 rounds out of mine and enjoyed it very much. I also wanted to get a feel for the trigger so I also did a mag dump and you can be very fast and accurate with it.
That handguard tab that interfaces with the upper receiver is very innovative. Basically makes it a monolithic upper without the hassle. Geissele is very innovative. I just ordered a reliability enhanced bcg. Expensive but worth it for it basically being bomb proof
I have the 11.5 geissele and it weighs more than my 16 inch bcm but it is definitely quality. I was going to get the 14.5 this black Friday but I just bought a zastava m70 a couple weeks ago but I did get a new SSA-e trigger I don't think they will be $160 till many next black Friday.

I know that FN is world renown for quality and longevity of parts. Geissele is new to the industry comparatively, I do think they are definitely deserving of being compared to FN though.

You're Giessllie barrel is not only forged but also chrome lined with their mid length + gas system. The gas block is mounted about an 1"1/4 further from the receiver for softer shooting. The Giessllie bolt carrier an bolt is also forged with a surgical steel cam pin and extractor. The upper and lower receiver is forged as well with a 4 pound Giessllie 2 stage lighting bow trigger. The rifle has the Giessllies super42 machine gun recoil spring and their tungsten H2 buffer to help with carrier bounce and better cycling overall. The rest is your typical AR stuff except for their military grade nano firearm coating and Giessllie claims it has the performance strength of synthetic diamonds. Just thought I would help out a little because I've done a tremendous amount of research on the Giessllie Superduty rifles. 👍 👊🇺🇸🇺🇸💪
Geissele has 2 different barrels. One is nitrided and the other is black oxide with chrome lining. This one is black nitride in and out. I also discuss basically everything you said in the comment but thanks man!
The cam pin doesn't interface with the upper receiver, that bulge is merely clearance for the cam pin. What makes the bolt rotate is the cam track in the bolt carrier itself. As the bolt carrier starts to move backwards, the cam pin rides in the track and rotates the bolt to unlock it so that it can unlock from the barrel extension and move backwards with the bolt carrier as the cam pin reaches the end of the cam track. It's not uncommon for there to be wear in the clearance area for the cam pin but that is not design intent and if there is excessive wear, something is wrong. You'll notice the bolt rotating as you move it in and out of the carrier with the carrier out of the rifle, absent of any influence of the upper receiver.
Oh yeah! And let me tell you, it was worth every penny. Blem or not, I personally don’t care about looks especially if it’s something I use in the manner I use my guns. It’s a tool so use it, get it dirty, clean it up and repeat. Function > form when it comes to guns but the two can meet in the middle and that’s where this rifles falls into place. It functions unlike any AR I’ve used before. The “Geissele length” gas system is amazing! It isn’t over gassed so you don’t get barely any felt recoil and virtually no gas blowback to the face. The BCG or REBCG is amazingly engineered and an actual functional improvement to the AR rather than a gimmick. The finish is amazing. The Luna Black is super smooth and also very tough. While the look of the upper/lower may not be anything short of mil-spec, the handguard makes up for that. Overall it is a definite recommend from me for a top tier factory built AR.
I have one of these rifles. They are really nice. They do not come with a magazine which is fine, but it is the only AR I've ever bought that did not include one. Mine did not include coffee or a bandana and only had 2 stickers. That really does not make any difference to me, just letting people know it varies. Thanks for the video.
I have the URG-I complete clone on a Colt m4a1socom lower and its a great gun but heres two details I like about the super duty the gas block and it being pinned.
Would have liked to hear more about the lower. EVERYONE skips over the Geissele lower. Even Geissele itself never talks about it. It is incredibly hard to find ANY info on it. Is it a full auto cut lower? Does it have a qd socket end plate? Is the magazine well tapered nicely (compared to some others)? Does it accept all other milspec parts or is anything proprietary on it? The reason I have been wondering is because I have several Aero Precision lowers and I really like them because of the integrated trigger guard (stronger and don't have to worry about breaking an ear off when installing the trigger guard, plus they are big enough for winter gloves), and the magazine well has an awesome flare to it to make for easy/fast reloads. Also, Aero puts a nylon tipped screw in their lowers to tighten the lower-to-upper fit so that there is no rattle. The one draw back is Aero doesn't cut their lowers for full auto. I think it is stupid that companies don't, and I believe it is nothing but a nod to the powers that be to satisfy them, and I wouldn't bend to them for that when it isn't even the law to do so.
It is a low shelf lower. No QD points on the lower. There is a slightly beveled mag well but it isn’t too crazy. Also, there are zero proprietary parts. My Aero lowers are also low shelf lowers. Remember there are about 3 versions of FA lowers.
10.3 would be ideal for a NV setup but only if you are planning to run it suppressed. A 10.3, even with the best flash hider, will give away any and every shot you take. If you don’t plan to run it suppressed check out the 14.5. While you may still give your position away, the chances are much smaller with a good flash hider. Plus you can run a stock without paying $200 to the ATF. Regarding the grip: It is quite similar to the A2, however it is also different. The grip angle is not as harsh but it is comparable to the A2. The finger groove is also not as pronounced, lending to greater comfort. And lastly, my favorite part about the Geissele grip is the texture. It’s very grippy but not over bearing where it’ll dig into your hand. It’s just different but similar in a lot of ways. lol
@@GunBoxTherapy Thanks for the insight, im definitely running it with an silencer, I will have to handle it and see if I can deal with grip, thanks for the help

Actually, the trigger is what I’m excited about. Just found your channel, did you get any range footage uploaded? Any issues at all? Thanks again.
I haven’t filmed any range footage yet but I have shot it and it is a dream man! I promise you will love it! The Geissele length gas system is odd in that it cycles everything I’ve thrown at it and has minimal recoil (55gr .223, 55gr 5.56, 62gr 5.56, and various reloads of mine that are pretty hot). For the price, feature set and high quality materials and engineering that go into this rifle, it is a great value and in my opinion something that deserves more coverage by much bigger names than myself. There is one thing I plan to change about it, the grip. The angle of the grip is not what I’m used to using. I plan to change it to a Magpul K2 or K2+. After maybe 500 rounds or so I will go film some range footage. I just want to learn the trigger and the rifle before that.

@@yianniboulas9315 Ohh that hole is normally supposed to be there but the blemish is the finish inconsistency near the hole. That hole causes conversations on the internet quite frequently but the consensus seems to be it is used for (3) different things. The first is that it is a drain hole should water ever get trapped in there, which would prevent the spring from rusting. The second is an oiling hole for the spring (which is actually in the Army Technical Manual). The third reason, which is also in the Army TM, is for tool access. If a spring were to ever seize up inside, it would allow the armorer to push it out with a tool.
I’m using a Trijicon MRO with the MRO Magnifier. Don’t ever cheap out on optics. Especially on a gun this capable. As for iron sights, I’d recommend the Magpul MBUS Pro, Knight’s Armament Iron Sights, or Griffin Armament. Everything Magpul should work as long as it’s intended for an AR.
@@GunBoxTherapy awesome thank you....do you see any downside in getting the shorter 14.5 barrell over the 16..assume fps is slower with the 14.5 anything else negative??
No real negatives except for what you said. But the differences between an inch and a half will probably not be noticed by you. I wish I sometimes would’ve gotten the 14.5” but I saved that for my Geissele URGI build I’m doing.
Hello, Could you inform me, according to which would be the best Ar15 between the Geissele automatics dutu 14,5 and the Daniel Defense M4A1? I hesitate between the two and I can not decide to help me, please . Merci beaucoup Best regards.
Other than the 2 things I mentioned in the video, no. Geissele still warranties the rifle and how it functions, just not the finish of the rifle. So you may find that the handguard is outside of the spectrum of color they would be okay with on the full price. Or maybe visible places where annodizing wasn’t so consistent. The trigger’s SN/Model number may be misaligned. Laser etching on the handguard may also be misaligned. Little shit like that. Other than that, the rifle will and still functions exactly as a full price model.
@@GunBoxTherapy Man im jealous... I bought a DDM4V7 from Daniel Defense's website about 2 months ago. Paid full price, showed up with a few blemishes and more slop than I expected.
I vote Radian. You can’t really go wrong with any of these 3 though. You should also check out the SOLGW rifles too. I have one of their 13.7” guns and it’s my very favorite gun out of all the ones I own. The thing runs like a sewing machine.
I’d put it at your average weight of a 16” AR. If weight is a concern of yours I would suggest getting the 14.5” barreled version. The muzzle device is pinned and welded on so legally it is a 16” barrel. With a 14.5” I’ve come to find that it may not be much lighter but it definitely feels more nimble and maneuverable compared to the 16” and I put that on a shorter barrel and handguard.
If I don't want the box candy (stickers and other bullshit), can they drop the price by a couple bucks? Because Holy fuck That looks like just a fancy pants A2 grip
To be honest, I think for what you get as far as materials, upgrades, finish, and just outright attention to detail on everything the Super Duty line is a damn good deal. You will have a hard time, if not a completely impossible time, finding something in this category of AR15 with this much extra included at a lower price. If you do, let me know who it’s made by. The only reason I personally replaced the grip is because I create a lot of redundancy with certain parts of all of my guns. The grip, trigger (if it isn’t a 2-stage Geissele), iron sights, stock (B5 SOPMOD) and light placement are all things that are absolutely the same on every rifle I own. The A22 grip is touted as an upgraded A2 grip and nothing else.

If a spring were to ever seize up inside, it would allow the armorer to push it out with a tool.
@@GunBoxTherapy thanks for reply
Definitely getting one
Great review
What’s the actual weight I’m thinking 6.5? I have two 11.5 weight is 6 pounds.
Beautiful AR15 🇺🇸 🙏🏻
Palmetto state has them for 1875.00 in Luna black
Just ordered one ( December 2022 )
Does the super duty rifle come with the discount codes for the Surefire parts like the URGI does?
Unfortunately, it does not. I’m not even sure the URGI comes with the coupons anymore. (As reported from recent buyers)
took my bandana, the coffee, stickers and bandana were missing from my box from the store I bought my rifle.
Sexy gun! Is this receiver made of 7075 forged or CNC?
It is 7075T6 forged.
@@GunBoxTherapy Thanks bro
Where did you get this blemished rifle?
Direct from Geissele. They have a blemished section on their website that gets updated about once a month.
what optic do you recommend on this??? how about iron sights?? thank you..sorry and Magpul compatibility??
Hello,
Could you inform me, according to which would be the best Ar15 between the Geissele automatics dutu 14,5 and the Daniel Defense M4A1?
I hesitate between the two and I can not decide to help me, please .
Merci beaucoup
Best regards.
Hello,

Make a video about the Night Colt Cobra
You see any differences between the blem and the full price model? I know some companies purposely keep their blem products with less quality.
I used to like a2 grips but I started using a BCM Mod 1 and BRO 😩
Hows the slop between upper and lower?
There is none at all. The fitment of everything is so nice!
@@GunBoxTherapy Man im jealous... I bought a DDM4V7 from Daniel Defense's website about 2 months ago. Paid full price, showed up with a few blemishes and more slop than I expected.
@@Calebski my 11.5 super duty has a little bit of slop.
So this or Radian Model 1 or Kac SR-15?
I vote Radian. You can’t really go wrong with any of these 3 though. You should also check out the SOLGW rifles too. I have one of their 13.7” guns and it’s my very favorite gun out of all the ones I own. The thing runs like a sewing machine.
Funny thing about coffee. It makes you less accurate. Hate me but it’s true.
True story lol
Not gonna lie dude man got some greasy ass hands 🙌 😂
I got the ddc anodized and I like the color but the anodizing is shit, I should of saved the $ and got the black and sent it for cerakote
More videos of this baby
I just shot about 200 rounds out of it today and feel confident in making some more content about it. It’ll come soon.
@@GunBoxTherapy is it heavier than other rifles? Kind of worried about that.
One easy kill they missed is a QD endplate
Can you please weigh your rifle and provide that figure?
6.5 lbs
These are 1500 none blem right now
got exactly like this for 2200
I WILL KEEP MY DANIEL DEFENSE
2 Geamd and they put it in a cardboard box .
That's just cheap
I generally despise any box that companies put their guns in. Especially the gigantic plastic foam ones. I’d prefer to just buy my own in this case.
If I don't want the box candy (stickers and other bullshit), can they drop the price by a couple bucks? Because Holy fuck
That looks like just a fancy pants A2 grip
The A22 grip is touted as an upgraded A2 grip and nothing else.
my 10.3 didnt come with coffee :C
I guarantee you that if you wrote Geissele customer service they would make it right and send you some! They are awesome!
