I worked at an EXPENSIVE restaurant that had Saturday, and Sunday buffets. Even at the $69.99 price (back in 2017), I saw EVERYTHING. Sneezing on food (kids, and adults), hair in food, people clipping their nails in line at the buffet, people trying a piece of food, and putting the “half eaten” piece back in the tray, picking their noses, NOT washing their hands in the restroom, then handling buffet utensils. ……I would NEVER go to a buffet.
I was very disappointed with the discontinuation of the local casino buffets in my area. We have none left. I’ve called several times and have been told they have no plans of returning. I hope this is a sign that those plans might come back to play.
My favorite All You Can Eat (AYCE) Buffet franchises (listed in no particular order of favoritism)... *;)* 1.) *_Golden Corral_** --* Simple in its format and wide in its variety, Golden Corral is pretty much the measuring/median standard for (Western-style) AYCE Buffet franchises in the U.S. 2.) *_Cici's Pizza_** --* The kids and seniors in my family, familial clan, and friends' families, all loved Cici's Pizza for its simplicity and easy-going/-dining atmosphere. 3.) *_Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation_** --* Despite that Soup Buffets are paragons of AYCE-filler, literally soups and breads, me and my own all greatly enjoyed our local Sweet Tomatoes' spacious dining room, relaxed atmosphere, and we always left satisfied (hunger-wise, at least). 4.) *_Post-Pandemic_** --* Tragically, the COVID pandemic resulted in the shut downs of all of the above AYCE Buffets in my area/region. Only AYCE Asian buffets (primarily Chinese) remain. *[EDIT-addendum:* To be extra clear, we have nothing against Asian AYCE Buffets; we do eat at them too, just sad at lack of AYCE Buffet options post-pandemic.] 5.) *_A New Hope?_** --* One can only hope that we live to see a resurgence of the (Western-type) AYCE Buffet franchises we enjoy(ed)/love(d) in these post-pandemic years (as of 07/2023). 6.) *_Other AYCEs..?_** --* What is/are your favorite AYCE Buffet(s)..? *;D*
Going to 'All you can eat' buffets is an American pastime. Glad to see they are making a big comeback. You can't really call yourself an American without going to one.

In Canada like Toronto we had literal bread lines to get the covid vaccines when they first came out because we got them late. We don't make the vaccines in our country we import supply from the US and Europe.
