My blue crayfish lives in a tank with 10 white cloud minnows and a bunch of ghost shrimp. They all seem to get along just fine. I actually think my crayfish enjoys the company.
If the little fish spends all it's time nibbling the glass it's probably an ottocinclus catfish that only eat algae. I have a five inch crayfish in a tank with cloud minnows amano and cherry shrimp and he doesn't bother any of them.
It depends on the crayfish, because I had a blue crayfish with a clown pleco and she ate ate him through the night. Since they’re nocturnal they hunt at night, that’s why during the day they’re more docile.
Absolutely, my tangerine crayfish ate 6 guppies in 2 days... I went camping for 2 days, came back and 10 guppies became 4 guppies. He corners them in the edge of the tank, grabs them, and shoves them down his throat.
Truth!! Gotta feed Grut, my blue, everyday!! He’s 3 years old and is used to receiving protein & veggies so he’s not food insecure enough to want to eat my larger fish. Cannot put smaller fish with him.
Had my one amongst 10 piranha and an albino pleco. Occasionally he would climb up the drift wood I had in ther and would swipe for the piranha. Had it that way for close to 2 years and the worst that ever happened was the piranha pecked off his claws. But for the most part he thrived on the left over food from the piranha
my neon tetras are going missing, i have them in the tank with a couple of danios and a crayfish and 1 pleco.. is there any chance the crayfish ate them?
My Mexican crayfish is in a tank with a rosy red feeder, cichlid, and platyfish. I have no problems. They will nip the tail fins of guppies. The snail got eaten. 😊🐠🐀🐾
@@WaterStTVsubscribe not alive he just got freeze like a demo toy. Then I just taken him out and sent to river near by me. But I want to known what happened so I don't get worried next time coz I have 2more
I used the Fluval Plant and shrimp Stratum because I used to breed CRS shrimps and other caridina shrimps. But I wouldn't recommend it. The best soil is the sand tbh because they love moving the sand around the create their own little space haha
@@WaterStTVsubscribe Thanks for the reply! Your cray does okay at that temp? I’ve read that they prefer cooler temps, so been keeping mine between 70-75, so not sure what tank mates would do well at that temp. Maybe that’s misinformation though haha.
@@LeSurrealDream My 75 gallon tank usually stays at around 76-78 and my 20 gallons stay at around 78-80. So far my crayfishes have been doing great and since now I breed, I can assure you that these guys do well in temp anywhere from 76-82F! They are rather hardy creatures!
@@WaterStTVsubscribe Good to know! This would certainly give me more stocking options, so will give it a try. They truly are amazing creatures. Thanks again!
Yes they do! So I don’t keep shrimps with my crayfish anymore. The guppies are a treat if the can catch them! But as of right now, the guppies I keep with the crayfish are used to aggression so they move around them! ^^

Hey, great video!
Hey thank! Really appreciate it!!
Thanks good info I have been nervous about introducing a blue crayfish into my cichlid tank, so far so good.
Glad I could help
From my experience my malawi cichlid were to aggressive towards the crayfish. Needed to separate them othewise I would have lost all crayfish.

My crayfish literally eat another crayfish they were about the same size

Why blue crayfish $15, shipping extra $30
Shippings do get expensive with the live animals. $15 is considered cheap where I live. They sell it at around $25-40 :(
Water St TV Amigo, estas seguro que los Guppys no atacan a los camarones ni a las gambas, cuando MUDAN DE CAPARAZON????

Ours has eaten all of our Neons, Cardinals and Rummy nosed Tetras. She’s also eaten our large apple snail.
Hey, one of my crayfish just got freeze🙃 I mean last night I gave him dinner.. Next morning he's just freeze is he dead or going to start moulting?
If he’s still alive but just not eating, then he is getting ready to molt soon

Hi.Can you tell me why crayfish change colour from blue to brown?and what water PH.Thank you.
None of my crayfish ever changed color from blue to brown. Maybe you have a different species of crayfish? My ph is 6.2-7.5 varies on the tank!
why did my guppies and mollies killed my craylings? I had newly hatch craylings
Adults guppies and mollies can eat the baby crayfishes when they get the chance but not often. I’d suggest that you separate them.
Can crayfish regrow there body parts like hands and legs?
no
Yes, when they molt
Yes. My large crayfish had a couple of legs missing when we got her. She grew them both back within a couple of months.
Yes they can! My crayfishes do that all the time haha
my crayfish is blue and have 1 claw
do you know if i can keep a tire track eel with a crayfish
Not too sure but I’m sure they will hurt the eel if it’s not fast enough
Wat substrate u using ?

What temp do you keep your tank at?
Anywhere from 78-84F!

That Pleco is gonna get eaten
why do you say that there really fast they can get away
My clown plecos learned that the hard way when I left it in there with a red crayfish while at work and came back to it in it's claw
i just rescued my pleco from the claws of my blue crayfish...😫
Plecotomus?
You mean plecostomus
It's a very complicated word.
