Just to let everyone know it's mainly depending on the crayfish size the bigger females can have up to 200 but the smaller/medium ones only lay like 60
Thanks again!!! My baby crayfish are hatching however I noticed that many of them have red claws while the rest of their body is transparent. Is this something that I should be concerned about?
We ordered 10 juvenile crayfish and what's happening is they are constantly moulting and hiding. I think they've burrowed because they are nowhere to be seen in the tank anymore! I'm worried that they died and got eaten by little snails. Either way it's disappointing that we can't see them. Makes me wish I didn't add pebbles and substrates because it's hard to know if there's babies in it
Juvi crayfish shouldn't be that small that you can't see them but if you are talking about the baby crayfish then yes. I would suggest you put them in the breeder until they grow a bit bigger. But juvies would do fine as long as you don't have any other predatory fish in the tank!
Sooo, i accidentally let a baby cray into my nano tank with my little Mosquito fish 😢 i cannot find his wee butt. When should i begin to worry about him eating my fish 😮 if i can find him i will be moving him to my 5.5 gallon. But id like to not have to disassemble the other tank if it is avoidable 😂
Soooo, if your tank has a lot of decorations and whatnot, I would advise you to take them out to see if you can find your crayfish but if if the crayfish is super small, then I wouldn't worry about them eating your mosquito fish. If they get big enough you'll be able to spot them and take them out then. I have kept all of my crayfishes with my guppies, mollies, tetras, and whatnot but the crayfishes are too slow to catch any of them!
Hi, unless they are originally a brown crayfish, I don't think there is a way to turn them back to blue. Meaning that most likely, you bought the wrong crayfish or the seller didn't even know they were brown crayfish.
I haven’t started my (crayfish farm) yet, but I will have these as the food sources for crayfish: 1)Algae. Green carpet algae specifically. Just learn how to grow this stuff, it’s not hard. 2)Worms. Just breed worms that you find in the (yard/dirt). 3)Rotten leaves. Rotten leaves = leaves that you would find in the yard. But, the leaves are classified as (rotten/bad). Just crush down the leaves into little pieces. And then, turn them into (rotten leaves). You will need to learn how to do this/find info. That is 3 significant food sources to feed the crayfish. Or, you can just buy (crayfish food) at the store.
Yes, a water change is a must in any aquarium with live animals. For these guys, I recommend you do water change of 50% every two to three weeks depending on the size of your tank and number of crayfishes in your tank!. Yeah I would give peas and other veggies but make sure to remove them if they don't finish them as they will contaminate the tank.
I wait a couple of days since the mom doesn’t eat her babies right after or even after couple of weeks. So I tend to collect them as I see them over a span of couple days to couple weeks
Yes, they can come to the surface to breathe but I have rarely seem them do that. They live under water and don't need to breathe air so it is perfectly fine for them to be completely submerged under the water.
I would say about $5 USD is fare for 1 inch crayfish, $8-$9 for 2inch crayfish, and about $12-$15 USD for crayfishes at around 3-4inches. But honestly the price would depend on where you live and how much other sellers sell too since you don't want to sell too cheap or too expensive since that would mess up the market.
Hi @loganrunyon1846, if you have crayfishes, then it would be more than 2... morel like 20 since they give birth to anywhere from 50 to 200 babies. But I'm sorry your lost your baby crayfishes!
Question: Those containers, where you are keeping (the baby crayfish) -> do you put them in the containers yourself, and the baby crayfish cannot swim outside the container? ->or, can the baby crayfish swim (in and out) of the container at any time?
Hello, 1. Yes I collect all the babies after they are born and put them in the breeding containers myself. The baby crayfishes are a bit larger than the hole so they don't leave the containers by themselves. 2. They cannot swim in and out as they wish!
thank you for making this video, it helps people like me who's just starting to breed crayfish
Of course! If you want any other contents, let me know and I can do them for you guys!
Cant imagine the water and electric bill 😭💀
Love you content btw❤

How did you catch them?????
Hello @nanocarereef2956, Yes I will do a video on the details of those!
Yes I used to, but they discontinued it on amazon unfortunately!
I didn't! I bought them from a local breeder!
Thanks again!!! My baby crayfish are hatching however I noticed that many of them have red claws while the rest of their body is transparent. Is this something that I should be concerned about?
Hmmm maybe they are a red clawed crayfish? Its been 4 months since you asked, did you find out their species?? :D

My neon crayfish have gone brown all adults now i think all 3, I dunno why .. do you think I can do anything to get them to colour up

First time cray fish mum here, but do you still do water changes and is it OK to give them peas?

I'm curious on how you collect those tiny craylings?
It’s takes tenacity and patience!! 😄
After the baby crayfish float off their mum's tail, do you immediately separate them or wait a few days?
I wait a couple of days since the mom doesn’t eat her babies right after or even after couple of weeks. So I tend to collect them as I see them over a span of couple days to couple weeks
is it ok for the baby crayfish to be submerge to water the whole time?

How much shold one price these fellows and what size should the bare minimum to ship and or local sell

So when mine hatched a few hatched before the others and died

My baby crayfish turned red and all died. I dont know why.
There could be many reasons as to why your baby crayfish died but most likely the water parameter didn't match.

Agree why do you collect the babies and place into breeder boxes?
@@sweetbl0nde I was referring to (putting the baby crayfish) in separate boxes, from the (adult crayfish). Since the adults may eat the baby crayfish
