    I know this is really late, but I decided to finally get the Spartan Ops recorded. The cutscenes work well together as one complete movie, so no gameplay was necessary. I should have added this to the Halo movie, but I will definitely do so before Halo 5 comes out when I update the movie with gameplay, Halo Legends, Halo Evelution, and Spartan Assault. Hope you guys enjoy!

The characters in this show has more depth to them then any characters in halo 5, even chief, halsey and arbiatrt who already have backstory. The fighting scenes are more well directed, the protagonists are more interesting. This is what halo story should be like. You know what's funny? Spartan Ops was also written by Brian Reed. Seems odd to think that he could craft such a fascinating story here, yet botch it all for Halo 5. You can literally tell the re-writes that must have happened during Halo 5's development due to Microsoft or some other source.
      I wish less people whined when Halo 4 came out. Half the reason for all of this becoming inert was simply because of community backlash. So all that bitching and whining people did about Halo 4's story, spartan ops, etc only led to a worse game in the end.

    • @jnrspt
      @jnrspt 8 лет назад +50

      ***** Honestly i thought the same, seeing all the backlash that brian reed got kinda got to me. I loved spartan ops and was just baffled by how halo 5 came out to be. The community backlash is a major cause like you said. Many people didn't like how corona died and ta da, look who is back. and even the actual game, due to the community saying the game was too dark in the beta they lightened things up in the final release and now everything looks flashy and way too bright. sucks

      @TheAsassinOfAwesome 8 лет назад +26

      Probably one of the few times I'll say I wish they hadn't listened to the community for the most part haha. While the changes to the multiplayer itself were really, really good, the backlash to the story and spartan ops caused a shift in how the story of Halo 5 went that I wish hadn't happened. But yeah, sucks.

      ***** You are trying to be a hardass and failing.. 'nerdrage tears'? Take your juvenile meme ad hominems somewhere else.
      I don't like them because whatever Spartan IV's can do, ODSTs can and have already done. I personally have a massive respect for ODSTs as humans at the peak of their potential but without augmentations. Spartan IV's are literally 'good' marines with augments and powerful suits.
      Also, I do not like the attitude of the Spartan IV's apart from Thorn's. Thorns is the only Spartan that follows orders like a true spartan and doesn't allow ego to get in the way. If you want to be a cowboy, you can a marine. But there are no cowboys in the Spartans and all I saw in this video was wild wild west style attitude.

    Man, everyone gives so much hate towards the Spartan IVs. You know, 343 never intended for them to be equal to the old spartans. In fact, that's one of the major themes of Spartan Ops. Halsey consistently looks down upon them because they can never aspire to her own spartans (and Thorne respects her for that). ONI wants a new generation of 'spartans' that doesn't depend on kidnapping children. They think they can replace the spartans (including chief) with their own (which will never be successful). This will probably be the theme of Halo 5g with Locke and Chief.

    • @alejandrocastellanos7139
      @alejandrocastellanos7139 9 лет назад +54

      To be fair, Halsey looks down on them because she is an egocentric megalomaniac, so how could the new guys be better than _her_ guys, you know?
      The Spartan IV's may no be "better," one-on-one, compared to the old Spartan II's, but they are more -- way, way more -- and are just good _enough_, which makes them a way more efficient and cost-effective alternative to training and raising soldiers since childhood just so that they can, one day, aspire to be the equivalent of Golden Elite warriors. Fuck that.

    • @josh11735
      @josh11735 9 лет назад +20

      @Alejandro Castellanos Perhaps Halsey's opinion can go both ways for this discussion, but even so that's not the point I'm trying to make. I'm trying to say that people shouldn’t hate the S-IVs just because they're not S-IIs. They are essentially regular people with regular emotions/attitudes who are aspiring to be Spartans (and these themes of contrast are reflected in Spartan Ops). They're presence and demeanor fit just fine in the reclaimer saga and I wish people could just accept that.

    I hate the corporate bullshit that decided to ditch this Spartan Ops concept and storyline entirely rather than figure out why exactly it wasn't as liked as desired and fixing it. While I really like Halo Infinite, I HATE that Halo 4 and 5 are effectively pariahs in the series because instead of fixing what was wrong (which they've demonstrated they can do with Halo Infinite) Microsoft opted to see 4 as a failure, throw it all out, do something entirely different for 5, see it as a failure, and throw it all out. If they had approached Halo 4 like they did Halo Infinite in the first place, we'd at least have two Halo game installments after Halo 5 by now, and the gameplay and story and direction of the franchise would be solid and polished.
    They spent so much money on all these assets and obviously had plans in place for more content, such a waste to never have used them again and not explored more of this story.

    one thing I don't understand is why people hate the Spartan IV's so much. they aren't meant to be replacements for spartan II's, but rather a middle man between ODST'S and older Spartans. What's more, they are former ODST'S and marines, they weren't trained from childhood to fight, so they will make mistakes, and show signs of being undisciplined when off the battle field

    • @carlosdiaz-eo2eo
      @carlosdiaz-eo2eo 7 лет назад +32

      reason why they hate is because spartan IV's are of coursed undertrained, easily defeated by spartan II's and of course they sometimes think they are better than spartan II's

    • @Phoenix-214
      @Phoenix-214 6 лет назад +31

      They hate them because they have no understanding of military logistics, or how the Spartan-IIs are actually a very stupid idea when examined from a realistic military perspective. Even S-IVs have equipment which costs as much as whole naval vessels, and S-IIs and S-IIIs take even longer and are more costly to train and equip, and have untenable "washout" rates where many of the conscripts die, which means the considerable material investment they represent end up being a total loss. S-IVs, however, offer I would say about 80-90% of the performance of prior Spartan generations, going by what we've seen of them, since they're still almost unmatched soldiers compared to the enemies the UNSC has to face. They do this at a fraction of the cost and time spent, and with far fewer ethical concerns. From a strategic standpoint, they're much more practical. Highly cost-effective.
      And that's to say nothing of the grotesque violations of military ethics inherent to using and experimenting on child soldiers, and it doesn't help that their augmentations are so dangerous that the first class of S-IIs lost more Spartans to the augmentation process than they did in combat. In fact, over half of them never even became operationally deployable. They started with 75 S-IIs, but only 33 successfully made it through the augmentation processes, and two of those committed suicide just weeks later because they met their crippled flash clones. The S-IIIs didn't suffer as many "washouts" but were not as dangerous on average either in terms of physical capabilities or training length, were still "child soldiers," and were specifically meant to sent on suicide missions.

    What a lot of people fail to understand is that the Spartan 4s were the official start to the Spartan military branch of the UNSC.
    Pervious generations of Spartans were made in secret and involved children that grew up to only know life as a Spartan. They knew no other behavior or life skills outside of being on duty and fighting.
    The Spartan 4s were different, they acted no different than any new military personal fresh out of boot. They only really earned their Spartan colors after the events of Halo 4 and older generations of Spartans treated them as less until then.
    I could go on and on but really this break down needs to be done by video.

    the reason the Covenant/Human war used to be so badass and interesting was the fact that every fight was a struggle for the UNSC and only thing keeping humanity from extinction was the sacrifices of true heroes. Not to mention that the Covenant used to be an indomitable military force of massive proportions with complex cultural intricacies. Now the Covenant is no more than a rag-tag group of scavengers and bandits trying in vain to attack the now dominant UNSC and their nearly unlimited resources. What made the war great was how dire it was.
