The Arbiter's Story was one of the first one we wanted to do when we started doing character stories across a long series. He's a fan favorite in the Halo universe. His unshakable sense of honor makes him a natural leader among the Sangheili. He went from humanity's most feared enemy to one of its greatest allies. In this video, we used gameplay and cutscenes from the Halo 2 Anniversary terminals, H2A, Halo 3 and Halo 5. For Halo 3, we also played it 2 players so we could capture the campaign from Arbiter's perspective. We also decided to use some of the terminals that describe the history of the Arbiter's in general. Although these are directly about Thel 'Vadam they provide crucial context to the Covenant and the long history of glory and shame of the Arbiters. We hope you enjoy!

Paolo Zamora, that was very stupid as he contradicted himself when he clearly said that the Arbiter was the only elite he could trust. Then he started shooting and it all went downhill from there.
He did say earlier that if he had become the Arbiter it was a lost cause, but definitely not a smart move opening fire. As the oracle said, elite's don't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed.

Versatile Lord Because many people suffered from Solid Snake MGS2 syndrome. They wanted to play as Snake in the sequel, after the first mission, they had to play as Raiden throughout the entire thing. And Halo 2 took that approach very similarly.

WG Gameplay I want to see a game about Master Chief's story when he was on reach, and when it was destroyed, just like the book Halo: Fall of Reach. Halo Reach was a great game indeed, I thought the campaign should have been about Master chief, instead of a random team of Spartans. Although the multiplayer was fantastic!
It was a needed break and to show the importance Chief had throughout the entire franchise, if chief was in Reach, it wouldn't be nearly as good tbh.

There wasn't always grunts that were weak, there was a Uggoy named Yayap who had, in the books rescued a special and honored elite who had been shot by the master chief on the pillar of autumn, promoting the grunt to a spec ops major. He was also the first grunt to ever threaten a high command elite with no fear overcoming him. He was a loyal Uggoy indeed.

@@kerlowsc3397 He loaded a ghost with a methane canister and set off as far as possible to eventually finding a nice quiet spot to watch the destruction of the Pillar of Autumn, where he finally found peace in instant vaporisation on the first Halo Ring.
I love how Thel’s voice got more sympathetic and weak during his trial and his torturing, but when he put on the arbiter helmet, his voice sprung up in resilience to his newfound chance of honor and a peace, like it was a destined second chance
It was pretty much a golden chance for him to give his life dying in honorable battle, knowing that whatever suicidal mission he did as the Arbiter would be considered a noble act all for the sake of the great journey, living as the defeated supreme commander that let one of the sacred rings be destroyed would’ve been a living hell for him compared to give his life for his religion and beliefs as the Arbiter, pretty much the overly glorified martyrs of his people.
Best Halo Character hands down.

It's strange seeing as how one person, one entity, one being, one named Thel 'Vadam, has been presented as a grave threat to the UNSC to the point that they calculated a 0% survival rate all because of him.

All in all, I’d be upset after finding out the truth as well. It just hit me when Thel is in the Mausoleum that those are all of his brothers up there sacrificed and deceived. All because the Prophets wanted to be like the forerunners so bad. Which makes it funny because they and the forerunners were salty at the role that the humans actually had in the galaxy. So they were more alike than they know.

at least with that line it's the graphics of the time that made it bad; apparantly it was fixed to be more natural in anniversary (I haven't seen anniversary yet).

Arbiter is the best, most developed character in Halo.
He’s the Vegeta of Halo. I love him
Ace R he kind of is. Starts off being pretty powerful and evil. But quickly learns the error of his ways and goes good. Email master chief is basically Goku. A strong brave guy who doesn’t have too many unique characteristics As well as always surprising everybody with his strength and skills in combat.
I agree he has a way more compelling story than chief, who is loved and adored by all in the UNSC rightfully so. But the arbiter is despised in the events of halo 2 even though he his the covenants ace commander and most effective soldier. They wanted him killed in public for “heresy”😂 meanwhile master chief is like “I think I wanna fuck Cortana”

I like how they put more focus on the Arbiter and his backstory in this game. Its as if they're saying "Yeah, we know its on The Master Chief Collection, but y'all know who's game this really is".
Arbiter is the coolest and most awesome character in halo and coolest and most awesome character in a lot of video games. Arbiter deserve to come back but as a new main character after chief finish and past the torch I really to see it. Maybe it's the only thing 343 that did right thing to do. I don't like infinity in one of the reasons that does not have arbiter.
So like our other "Story" videos. this is a cut of the Arbiter's storyline throghout the Halo series. This includes cutscenes and gameplay from Halo 2 Anniversary, H2A terminals, Halo 3 and Halo 5. We left some of the terminals that are about other Arbiter's because we feel they provide crucial backstory to both the Covenant and the role of the Arbiter. Thel was criminally underused in Halo 5, we hope he comes back with a bang in Halo 6.

The conversations between the Oracle and 'The Heretic' was perhaps the best parts of the franchise. But what he failed to see is that humanity has the same goal as his newfound goal. If he just contacted them and explain what he's been told I'm sure they would be mostly proud to have him aboard

I like it when villains are portrayed with a layered approach, makes things much more interesting than “the good guy” and “the bad guy”.
“Were it so easy” is the perfect phrase to describe why the halo universe and the story about the sangheili is so gripping and interesting.

Halo 2, despite the fact that it was released 16 years ago, it is still by far, my favorite halo game. I love the storytelling, level design, the characters, it's movie-like style of presenting the seen before you, there is so many things in the game that make it perfect.
Edit: and don't forget about the soundtrack! It helps the scenes to evoke many different feelings; hope, triumph, sacrifice, dedication, the list goes on, and this helps to develop the characters, and their goals, which, without them, the story would be incomplete.

probably could've done without all the halo 3 missions where the arbiter is only just a playable player 2
Melbourne X yeah true a lot of great lines from the Arbiter were missed because he was player 2 but Halo 3 truly does show the bond that grows between Master Chief and the Arbiter
