I watched an interview with them from their place on the Isle of Wight. .. they say Chaise lounge 47 times in the song. This is like fresh air. Ediot: sphellings
Love it. And Love WL. Check out Devil's Haircut, Beck. That for me is the THE best music video ever shot. Diffrence to this video. It was the first time I ever saw the ken Burns effect. I was blown away by it back in the day '96 and even managed to buy it from a company on VHS - rare in those days.
this song totally reminds me of the New Wave music when it first came out back in the day in the early 80's...like something they would've played on KROQ in LA...totally loving this song!!
Omg how I envy you. Most fun band since, I dunno, Sugar Cubes. Might even like the second single more. They look and sound a tad tired here...there's a long way to go from here, let's hope its a long one
I can't wait to watch this at Glastonbury (I don't go these days, Im too old and boring), with 50,000 people chanting "all day long on the chaise longue'.. And they will, oh they will...
I think Wet Leg will continue to smash, and just get better. They are just having fun and we can jump in for the ride or not. I really hope this was a great experience for them. Smash it, Wet Leg band!! 🤘🤘
@@TheTransitmtl ……I think you are right on the money on post-punk, my guess would be 1978-80. The music definitely has a hook and is fun. After reading many of the comments, there is a lot of praise from the 50-70 crowd (myself included 53😂) which confirms that we have heard this before and it was good!
One my favourite new bands I saw 👀 them live . Met the singer and the drummer incredible brilliant band and this band is mega amazing incredible I love them
Damn it, you're spot on. It would've fit in perfectly with my Franz Ferdinand, Electric Six, Scissor Sisters, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian etc collection at the time.
There are so many amazing things about this video & performance. I particularly love the bass player's melodic movement at the end of sections. The camera work and audio mix is exceptional. Obviously amazing track too! The lipstick continuity makes me think this was edited from a few takes? One of the next tracks of 2021
I've heard this song a few months ago once on an alternative station in South FL - thought they were saying Shay's Lawn -who the hell is Shay? Then, only found it today -we call it a chaise Lounge - though, I like the way you say it. Love it!
"Is your mother worried? Would you like us to assign someone to worry your mother?"
One of my favourite lines this year.
I watched an interview with them from their place on the Isle of Wight.

You should be horizontal now.
LMAO
@@thethree60five I think you mean Isle of Wight -unless you're confusing them with The Bee-Gees!!!!
@@coolVicar ...opps...
You are Wright.
Dually noted fine sir.
This probably the best ever cinematography in a live music video I’ve ever witnessed
This is probably the best ever comment on cinematography in a live music video I’ve ever witnessed.
That's the BBC for you.its not hard as the room is small anyway .

The camera work on this is excellent, those really tight zooms really fit the vibe of the song and the band.
Yes they deserve really good filming 😃
Very turn-of-the-millennium style.
@@mopsvonmiez I think someone gave the cameraman a wide angle zoom for Christmas!
I agree
And the editing too...
drummer and bass player kick absolute ass on this one
Right? That rhythm section is fire 🍻
This song is so mad and I love it to death. I can’t remember the last time a record grabbed me by the ears and twisted them this hard
Exactly !
There goes your one-hundred thumbs up :)
Christ, I’m a 70 year old rocker and you guys just freaking kill it! 😎
32 years old here, totally agree with you
62 here and this is fantastic!!
I'm 52 and I love it 👍👍🤤 especially the blonde 🤤😂👀👀👀
12 here, amazing music since 80s
Haha Wicked! I'm in my 50s and I absolutely love this! Super talented and fresh!
Reminds me a lot of the sound of The Breeders, or even The Pixies, back in the 90's. Happy to hear a new band like that in 2022 !
They are so good, never felt so invested in a band - DONT fall out guys, we love you!!!!
Doesnt matter how many times i hear this it just gets better and better. Sake. ❤
I really hope they don't get tired of playing of this song. It's the best song I've heard in a few years.
That's absolutely fantastic... What a breath of fresh air they are.
Best live version of this song. That rhythm section is off the chain 👍👍
This still kicks ass 🍻
BRILLIANT! Every generation has been waiting for this song. That's also the highest I've ever seen a guitar played.
You should listen to Thee Oh Sees :D
The drummer/bass player keep that beat going flawlessly
Love at first listen. Magnificent. That's how you do it.
Same as. My mate played me this and Wet Dream about a week ago and now I'm hopelessly in love. After two bloody songs!
What a great performance, by a great young band, of possibly the best one-chord wonder of a song ever written ... Love it!
Thanks for introducing me to new music, BBC. This song is awesome!
this song totally reminds me of the New Wave music when it first came out back in the day in the early 80's...like something they would've played on KROQ in LA...totally loving this song!!
Cant tell you how happy i am to see these guys get a break like this ! The feel of their music is great and i honestly cant wait to see them live !
Saw these at the Isle Of Wight a few weeks ago. One of the best things I’ve ever seen

Check their web site - they have a USA tour and a Europe tour next year - they are storming ahead...!!!
And sure enough the crowd did!
I think Wet Leg will continue to smash, and just get better. They are just having fun and we can jump in for the ride or not. I really hope this was a great experience for them. Smash it, Wet Leg band!! 🤘🤘

Heard this a few days ago for the first time- currently playing it on repeat- if it had been on vinyl it would be knackered already.
This music is so fresh and fun! Love all of it and their live performances are excellent
Wet Leg is great. It's very by the book post-punk though. It's fresh only for people under 20

My new favorite band. I need to watch out for any west-coast US shows.
Played this before church, fantastic record...
My man is truly tempting Health and Safety to create new regulations vis a vis how high you can legally strap a guitar
Tom Morello begs to differ.
I think it’s the way…..
@@xeroniris Tom Morello has no hair
Him, Tom Morello and Dave Mathews have been in completion for years on who can get the highest. Who will die of strangulation first I wonder?
This was pioneered by Mark King
Just can't get enough of this tune....
Saw them live this year, they have some great material. The debut album is going to be killer
This live version is so good - they rock hard!
everything they do so far is brilliant brilliant brilliant and wow even better live.
Love this sing. My song of the moment. 👍🏾💪🏾😁
These two will grow to be bigger ! I just know it ! Mark my words
Check their web site - they have a nearly sold out USA tour and a Europe tour next year - they are storming ahead...!!!
It’s about time I heard something new and different. Excellent !
This song is so fresh it's callin' me names. LOVE IT! 😎
I love the way they get kindergarten kids to write their lyrics then put it to music, totally amazing
Close! The head-space of giggly thirteen year-old girls on a sleepover ..is how Hester and Rhian put it.
If that kindergarten class is getting a "big d" you need to call the authorities.
The Ivy House! First pub I ever went to! Great place, great band.
best band ever to have come from the isle of wight, amazing x
Level 42 might have something to say about that.
Yeah rite 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Mark King bass player guy on video
Apprentice
I remember trainspotting by how tight those camera zooms... Awesome 😎😎😎
This is the kinda stuff I'd have listened to at college 16/17 years ago, nice

Best song of the year . Love it
Thats what we need. More Wet Leg, please!

This is a brilliant film edit and it suits the song perfectly.
excellent song, excellent camera work, excellent band - wet leg is my fav discovery of the last months!
Heard this on Radio 1 (UK) today. Loved it.
And this, folks, is the art form called pop music.
BANGER. Looking forward to see you live in LA next month!

I bloody hope you're right! They deserve to be. There needs to be more songs. Soon.
Really nice work on the filming of this. And the performance is excellent - great tune.
super fresh, zesty, and best of all...no fckin 80s synths!
New band to me. Love it. I gotta buy this LP.
Three and a half minutes to restore your faith in guitar rock. Inspired.
Songs like this were ten a penny in the nineties, but hey ho, as long as everybody's enjoying themselves.
bollocks
Everything about this is perfect!
You know that thing whereby if you say a word over and over it starts to feel weird to say it? They must get that a lot. Love this version.
Massively into this band, hoping to see them live next year
Check their web site - they have a nearly sold out USA tour and a Europe tour next year - they are storming ahead...!!!
You need to book now!
My faith in rock is restored.
Just heard this on Chicago's wxrt. What a cool song. We will be hearing a lot more from these guy's I'm sure
This is a seriously good band we are listening to
Love that there are four versions of this song that I can listen to. Maor is bettah
So talented love them definitely the next big thing
Omg the singer is fucking gorgeous
Looks a bit like Claire Danes
Never change, college radio. Never change.
Fantastic new music💯Love the style very much!
Great song and image, just brilliant
Breeders meets Sonic Youth equals eargasms......... fantastic work.....x
Excellent musical observation. They sound unique but Canon Ball did spring to mind.
Absolutely 👍 💯 made up someone else thinks the same!
You guys are sick. Come to New Zealand when it's open
What a tune - bloody superb 👍
I am having to ration the number of times I listen to this on a daily basis just so I can function...
I'm old enough to have a free bus pass and find these guys are incredible! Guitar based rockand roll lives on! Why aren't they bigger?
They will be be patient 🙏. I havnt listened to radio one for years but I doubt they play this .With Wet Leg the future is promising
I am Sooooooooo Happy I found this band!
Sonic Youth for Gen Z - and nothing wrong with that. Even got Kim Gordon's intonation. Really like this.
Really awesome stuff, love you guys!
Can hardly believe that was live. Amazing. You guys are going to be so big.
Reminds me of YAYM Kings of Leon. Such a brave and fierce debut. “Here we are, this is us. Like it or go”
Very good! Can’t wait to see you play this song live at Pitchfork Paris
Check out the video of them playing it at a relatively small festival in north Wales(UK)the green man festival.

Have I travelled back in time 10-12 years??
This performance is 1000 times better than the album recording.
