- The serpentine belt in the Geo Prizm drives the water pump and the alternator. It's an important item in the car. Inspect often for wear and tear. Here is a video on how to change this belt.

That locking bolt is a pain to get on especially if you have air conditioning and fat hands like me. Also didn't notice the adjusting bolt. Good vid bud! Thanks.
