Faerie Glen Ballad ~ Gourd Banjo

Hey everyone! 🌿🌞 Another Thursday another banjo video!! I swear I still play an open back banjo lol and there are many an open back tune brewing. 🔮
This is a little freestyle clawhammer jam was inspired by my recent obsession with reading about Irish folklore and fairytales. 🌱🧚‍♂️🌼 A theme that has really resonated with me are the old folk tales about faeries.
It is said in these tales that in the verdant depths of Ireland's ancient forests and misty hillsides, hidden away from mortal eyes, lie the enchanted realms of the faeries. These ethereal beings, known as the Sidhe or Aos Sí, weave through the tapestry of Irish folklore with a grace that defies earthly bounds. Within their faerie glens, where the air shimmers with unseen magic, they dance in moonlit circles and whisper secrets to the wind. Though mischievous and unpredictable, the faeries are guardians of the natural world, tending to the delicate balance of flora and fauna with a touch that echoes through centuries of storytelling. Legends speak of their gifts of inspiration to poets and artists, their playful tricks on unsuspecting travelers, and their timeless allure that draws wanderers into realms where time itself seems to stand still. To stumble upon a faerie glen is to glimpse a fleeting doorway into a world where wonder and danger, beauty and mystery intertwine-a reminder that within the ordinary lies the extraordinary, if only one dares to believe.
