My GF and I were the viewers at 15:05, and we were so happy to meet up with you! I don't know if you remember but that was our first backpacking trip. The trail was very tough for us and we decided to head back after Lake colden the next day and not hike up MT.Marcy. I was pretty bummed about it but we got to meet you guys! Totally made our day. The following month we came back and hiked Mt.Marcy, the tallest Mountain in NY!
Keep on making great episodes. You inspire us to keep on trekking.
Must've been such an awesome surprise to run into the AA gang. Good for you and your GF!
It was definitely a tough trail but at least you got the Colden! Still very beautiful. Glad we got to meet you guys! Hope you are planning another trip :)
That was so cool to see!
You are lucky to have girlfriend who likes to hike!...just like my past girlfriend....my wife love to hike also...in the shopping malls

This was just a taste guys. The Adirondacks are the largest state park in the country. Please come back and do more of what is out there.
Out of curiosity, how frequent are your bear encounters?
@@hb4243 in the 20+ years I’ve been hiking and fishing in the Adirondacks, I’ve never seen a bear. Only foot prints. But I keep my camp clean and keep my food in a bear safe bag.
@@Golddragon214 Thanks for responding! That's great to hear. I moved east from the west coast and wondered if they behaved differently over here. Great to hear from someone with so much experience in the area. :) Excited to explore the Adirondacks this year!
@@hb4243 keep in mind that Black Bears are hunted here in NY State so they fear humans mostly. Once they learn that people can mean an easy meal they become a problem. Be sure to look at the NY State DEC web site to read about the rules for carrying a Bear Canister in the High Peaks and the trail conditions in the area you are planning to hike. Happy Trails
@@Golddragon214 Good to know. Thanks so much will do!
I love how they tell us the name of plants and describe every detail.
:D Glad you enjoy it! Thanks so much for watching
same!
@@AdventureArchives i agree I just love it when you show the plants and scenery and explain about it. love the pawpaw you ate in another episode, don tknow if you know the naturealm in akron ohio but I seen my first pawpaw tree with fruit on it for the first time a few years ago, it was neat. at quail hollow state park in stark county they have a nice garden there and many plants there got me to go get them for my garden, with 3 acres I defintily have room for many trees shrubs and flowers. yippee.
Thomas is low key hilarious 😂
I hope the 4 of you guys stays Adventure Archives for a long, long time....like forever
Dejaki Xiong couldn’t agree more. They should never stop
This feels like a Discovery Channel show more than a youtube vlog series. Six hours of videos in and I'm still not bored? Idk how you did it but something between the runescape-esque original music and professional quality voiceovers is really keeping me hooked.
Thank you so much! :D And thanks for watching
I wish this was a weekly show. Yes I know, it’s greedy but it’s so addictive.
Ditto!... I've watched all their full and mini episodes....what other beautiful poetic hiking show available?
Thank you so much for letting my husband and I be apart of this episode! We are big fans of your videos and feel so thankful we were asked to record and sing such a great song. Use us anytime
ADK 46ER #9946 here. I wanted to let you guys know that I really appreciate how you showed all the viewers the thought process of when to climb and when not to climb. Too many people come to these peaks thinking it's a walk in the park and not realizing what they are really getting into. I'm glad you chose to not climb algonquin from the back side with full packs on as this is one of the steepest climbs of the 46. I also was impressed at your choice not to climb Colden during a thunderstorm. Most of my peaks were done in May and October so I feel your pain as far as the rain is concerned. Great video and also great example of responsible hiking! Keep on trekking!
It’s great to see 4 young men appreciating nature as you all do. Stay safe and keep on hiking. Hello from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
"You know what isn't ominous, our friendship."
Ladies and Gentlemen... Thomas Sinard.
I live in the foothills! So the ADKs are my home away from home. Such underrated beauty… and history!
Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys wrote that song in the credits, "Go Home?????" That song is SOOOOOOOOOOO bright and special. Way to go Robbie!!!!! Wow.
is that song on spotify?
Grew up in Saranac Lake. Always loved the mountains of the Adirondacks. Taking on the Appalachian Trail next Feb.
Good luck on the AT!
As someone who grew up camping in the corners of the Adirondacks, you guys did it justice and showed what makes it special. Thank you
The panic of packing up before the rain is so relatable
As someone who grew up in Pennsylvania and travelled west several times as a kid, I always thought the east coast mountains were pretty boring, always being surrounded by the ridge and valley systems of Pennsylvania, covered in trees so you can't really make out the geology, views obstructed by canopy. Maybe it's just that I've been around them for so long, I had longed to move west.
Then I saw some of your videos and realized, I just don't know enough about my environment to really embrace all of the amazing things around me.
Perhaps the scenery isn't that of jagged rock and intense peaks, but still offers an incredible amount of things to see if you know what you're looking for. Watching these videos has encouraged me to learn a little be more about all of those plants and trees I've been passing up and turning hiking from just walking in the woods, into an adventure.
Thanks guys, great videos.
Beautiful views and landscape! We have adventures on both coasts and the one thing that is constant is that their is beauty everywhere. I absolutely love the rolling green on the east coast.
Absolutely beautiful video guys. Very well done! I just absolutely love the Adirondacks. My entire RUclips channel was started because of it. I just love documenting my adventures and journeys in the Adirondack mountains! You guys rock!
I discovered your channel during lockdown, your adventures are true joy in a tough time.
Thanks so much for your comment- we're glad we can help during these times, and thank you for watching!
Literally tears of joy at that end song. Y'all are beautiful!
you're guys great... I love the way you showed Michigan
Seeing you guys just chill and have a beer after a hike is great. Love the end credits each episode! Plus the comedy is gold!
Thanks so much! :D We try to make it so the end is still fun to watch too
The skits at the end of the episode & Thomas sleeping were easily the best content I've seen this decade. Love you guys so much.
This is the state that I grew up in and lived most of my life in. It’s interesting to me how foreign the environment seems to you guys. I’m so happy that you made this video to show people how much NY state has to offer besides NY city.,I live in Virginia now and people here seem to think NY state is just a city.🙄🙄
The debris slides thru Avalanche Pass occurred in 1999 and 2011 (Irene), not little by little.
Thanks for sharing guys, always such a pleasure to watch! 👍
Great hike & LOVE THE SONG!!!! Describes hiking to a T perfectly
Another great episode. Great job you guys!
You guys are really awesome! Please keep up the good work!
I love that you finally did the ADKs!!! You guys are amazing. I love it.
Awesome video!!! Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful hike despite the rain:/ It's always exciting to see a new AA episode.
You guys are so genuine and informative. Beautiful and entertaining!
ive been watching an episode at night....to end the day smiling... thanks for your beautiful videos....
I love when you guys into laughing fits! It’s contagious. Beautiful episode even on the 4th watch.
Excellent episode as always, and I have to echo all of the positive comments about the music. It was superb. Especially the song playing during the credits. Thanks!
I literally did the same loop with my friends at the beginning of August, inspired by your other videos. So cool to see you at the same spots! I hope you're all able to come back to NY, lots of great backpacking throughout the state!
Love watching your summits!
Thank you for a very clear and calm video. It felt like i was there too.
Love the philosophizing, plant and fungi ID!
Love when you guys post content. Great group of buddies I like to virtually hang out with through the channel and your content is top quality as always. There’s nobody out there doing it like you.
Thanks for the great footage! I definitely need to check this place out.
Wow guys, just wow! Another amazing video my friends! Great hike and camping, good to see you all back out in the wilderness having a good time. Everytime I watch your videos, it makes me itch to go out and enjoy the nature. Thanks for sharing!
Best outtakes ever!!! Love seeing your friendship dynamic. Gets me excited to start hiking with my own group. Keep it up guys!!!
Thank you for being so happy and positive. Watching you guys make me feel so much better. I just found you and subscribed to you a few weeks ago. I’m going back and watching all of your videos and your channel too Robby! Thank you so much, love from Kentucky.
The best anniversary gift ever! Thank you guys! Can't wait to sit down and drink my coffee and watch the best RUclips adventures!
love the ending song/soundtrack.
I love Thomas, he’s so funny but serious.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys do in 2024!
Quite possibly my fav ep ever well done guys thoroughly entertaining
To beautiful for words. Thank you guys for sharing!!!
Thanks for another adventure, boys. Great score! I especially liked the melody you introduced at 38:05.
great hike...great video...thanks for taking us along!!
It's so great that you're inspiring people to go backpacking!
Really enjoy you guys and your adventures! Unfortunately, I can’t hike due to some physical limitations, so I hike through your videos! Also, I’m in West-Central Ohio. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching, we're glad we can still help you experience the outdoors :) There are some nice and more accessible trails around Dayton that we've backpacked that might be fairly close to your home. Thanks again!
AdventureArchives I’m up in Marysville...but thinking of trying both Mohican and Hocking Hills. I hear there are some easier trails at both of these.
Great video. Adirondacks are an amazing place. Glad you got to experience an Adirondack mile and Avalanche Pass. Well done.
What’s an Adirondack Mile?
I watched your video because it was set in the Adirondacks and I fell in love with you guys and subscribed. Good work and lots of fun.
One of my favorites of y’all’s so far!
This made me so nostalgic! I went on a backpacking trip on the same trail two years ago. The lean to on lake Colden is one of my favorite camping spots.
Thank you for coming to and respecting and enjoying my little piece of heaven here in the Adirondacks!!! It's pieces like this, that make me really appreciate where I'm livin'! Thank you for this incredible journey through my backyard in such a beautiful way!
Great video! I've been to the Adirondaks a few times and you really capture the spirit and the beauty of the place. Thanks
I grew up in upstate New York and have hiked many a mile in various parts of the Adirondacks.
It has been a few years since I moved away and I miss it terribly! Still have plenty of awesome places to explore in the west but miss the terrain that got me into it to begin with.
It was awesome to see you guys explore there and Very nostalgic for me to watch... glad you enjoyed it and there is SOOOOO much more to NY than just the city
Yeah It’s hard to have a trip in the Adirondacks that you don’t encounter a ton of mud and/or rain! I’ve had many weekend hikes that had more wet then sun there haha glad you. Guys stuck it through and had fun despite the weather.
loved the end song. Reminds me of nature jingles. Loved the adventure.
I’m so glad this popped up on my feed. I’m sorry you missed the view from Algonquin. I can’t wait to watch more episodes.
Always looking forward to a new episode!
Very nice video to watch. Enjoyed it.. thanks for sharing this video... Hope you have a safe trip...
I can’t wait to hike these mountains! Thanks for the great video!
I'm so happy I just remembered this video exists! I just returned from my 2nd of 5 trips up to the ADK this summer(used to live there and go up each year) and I was already missing it. So excited to rest my legs after completing the Macyntire Range solo with my pup and watch your adventures! New episode is next
You guys have THE BEST hiking videos! Love the info on the flora and fauna. I wish I had a hiking crew like you guys.
Bahaha.. "I wasn't in a good mood"!
Your group's chill approach to exploration, geekiness over nature's beauty and the low-key antics are such a joy to watch and make me feel like we're all friends. I appreciate the bonus botany information as well! I know this is an old video, but as a relatively new and zealous backpacker, I've been watching all the way through the archives. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration in this strange, strange time.
Thank you Thomas, Andrew, Robby, and Bryan for this episode, it was amazing and very enjoyable, much appreciated.
I got super excited when I saw this pop up in my notifications! It's so wonderful to see your face again- we've all missed you!!!! Can't wait for rhe documentary!
I was hiking to Lake Colden two days ago and couldn't help but feel deja vu. I realized on my way back that I did the same hike you guys did!
Love these guys. I've watched every video.
Great episode; one of the best. So much to do and see up in the ADK’s. Maybe some canoeing up there next summer? Also, if you get to the finger lakes again, there are some awesome short day hikes through gorges and glens with amazing waterfalls. Try the state parks around Ithaca or, best yet, Watkins Glen! Then hit one of the many breweries or wineries surrounding the finger lakes.
Was nice to see the four of you out again. Was just out on this trail 10/4/19 for the weekend doing the Colden loop Saturday. Was nice and icy going up with rime on the pines. Great video!
this is awesome and the fact your so close with each other real friendship thats really cool
I'm learning alot from all the different species you are pointing out. Beautiful place. You are all such awesome friends. I love to see this.
Omg I love how you guys are talking about all the plants, fungi and animals.... It's so awesome, that's one of my favorite parts about hiking. I'm from central NY and I'm going to the high peaks this summer. Can't freakin wait
What a lovely reminder during Covid of what makes life a joy! Glad to find 😊
Bummed that you got such crap weather in the middle of your trip, but WOW that was a spectacular episode! I was smiling the entire time I watched it! Some fantastic music in this episode too
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for your support :) Glad you enjoyed the music!
Great freaking video. Keep on keeping on. You guys rock!!
WOW! Great video guys. I am glad you enjoyed our beautiful dacks. You must comeback in the spring when everything is blooming and coming to life. You can't miss out on our Black Flies! LOL. The High Peaks are only 1 of 20 Wilderness areas here in the Adirondacks. Come back and experience a paddling adventure. S.H. - Long Lake, NY
Amazing! That was the only hike I ever did in the Adirondacks and I didn’t know that was the subject until a couple minutes in. I’ll never forget the cliff side walkway along Avalanche lake. Thanks for the memory.
I grew up in Upstate NY. Beautiful outdoors there!!!
😂LMAO🤣 Yes Thomas definitely when you take the "Dad shorts" pose.
If I hear you say "you kids fall in behind, and no veering off trail" I'll know you've gone over the edge!
I enjoyed the plant information that you took the time to show and talk about. Great photography, too.
Really cool hiking trip, thanks.
amazing as ever guys
Thank you so much!
Oh there you go! I was asking for this place, and you guys have been there. Nice. Thanks!
This was one of the first of your guys videos that I have watched and it’s still one of my favorites. I hope to one day be able to do this hike. The boardwalks along avalanche lake are so beautiful.
I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel! It actually made me get out and hike again after a 5 year haitus. I just turned 70 and have pretty bad arthritic knees, but I just go anyway and am amazed at how easy it still is for me. I think my backpacking days are over, but I will keep hiking now for sure. I live in Woodland Hills, CA and am very close to a lot of cool hiking spots in the Santa Monica Mountains. Thanks for sharing your adventures and inspiring me to get back out there! You guys are awesome!
Great to see you guys discovered (and enjoyed) my backyard! Lol I just recently discovered your videos and really enjoy them.😁
Terrific episode! Love the "Go Home" song!!!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Nice video, Hiking and actually taking the time to enjoy the journey. As one says smell the roses. The goal is a fleeting moment in time but the journey that's what does it for me. Nice music and excellent editing. An all around good job.
Love your guys show. Really been a fun find during the lockdown and inspired to summit Mt Whitney. Thanks all.
I FINALLY got to watch this and am still laughing because the end was hilarious. I don't know what part was my favorite but I especially loved the trail with the ladders! So cool! Wonderful episode and usual and I love all the music & shout outs too.
Yay I’m so happy you’ve finally come to the ADKs, my favorite. 💕thank you
Glad you enjoyed the episode! We definitely need to go back sometime. Thanks for watching!
It’s been raining hard here in Chicago for the past few days- I feel like I’m there with you guys! Watching you guys walk through puddles as I can here the rain coming down on my roof is a crazy experience. Anyways, great video as always. Keep up the incredible content!
That's awesome, talk about immersion! Thank you so much for watching, and thanks for your support!
Awesome trip guys! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Pretty amazing footage
