The Ausi terrier is a new breed for my eyes but they look so much like a Pomeranian mixed w a corgi. Oh my goodness 1:52 that looks like a Kyle Gre/gremlin hybrid. I’ll never understand how or why Frenchies have become so popular & expensive especially after all the videos I’ve seen where they sound like a non stop goblin banshee. Always wanted a Charles Spaniel simply bc of how adorable they are. I’ve always stuck w my smaller chihuahuas tho.
I loved my departed bichon frise blend. A very sweet and gentle companion. I’m broken hearted. She would look deeply in my eyes with understanding to determine my mood.
❤️ I’m so sorry for your loss. I know that pain far too well. The truth is we never really get over the loss of a beloved dog. But, eventually the memories make the sadness more bearable.
Our chihuahua only lives 11 years. She caught cushings disease. We had to put her down. This is why I recommend a well bred dog, however, I would adopt from the shelter if I found a dog I like.
Shirley Harris, I'm so sorry for your loss May your happiest memories bring a smile to your face on the days when you need one the most. Our furry friends touch us in so many ways during their short lives.
I recomend A Maltese if you want a small dog but your a beginner because they don't shed much they have lots of energy for their body size and they LOVE their humans
I have a Maltese and a Maltipoo and they very much do shed, not as much as my rat terrier used to and no they don’t set of my allergies, but those feisty boys shed everywhere. But they love cuddles so all is forgiven 🥰🥰🥰
Perhaps you're giving low-quality feed to your dogs? No matter how expensive it still may be low-quality food for your dog, so check with your vet. If that has been done look at the hairs... is there a bulb at ither end? If there is not then the hair is breaking off which means there may not be enough oil or certain vitamins in the dog food or that your shampoo is drying the dogs hair out and it is breaking off and perhaps you need to change that or put a conditioning rinse on your dog's hair such as you might put on yours.
Yeah not many small breeds are in shelters but I adopted! A found a beagle but he's VERY VERY large for his age bigger then full grown but he's 6 months...
I'm also not much into small dogs but I have a small frame and not that physically fit to control a large dog, specially when it gets aggitated. I'd rather have a dog I can actually manage as a fur parent.
I have a chihuahua and he is the most difficult dog I’ve ever owned to house train. He’s 14 months and doing better but still can’t be completely trusted to let loose in the house unsupervised
I became the rescuer of a severely neglected Pitbull. I know they aren’t little, but these beautiful animals are so sweet. I ended up keeping Goliath after nursing him back to health, he lived 17 years. (I knew friends of the original owner) he was a Velcro dog, and I’m serious, if I went out of town, it could only be for a few days, he would get so depressed. He passed away early June, and I still can’t figure out. How to sleep without one of his legs tucked under me, or him tucked under one of my legs! My only advice if you rescue a pittie, is test their personality and behavior around other dogs, children, and their food. Goliath was a lover, but as with any breed, previous experiences determine their reactions, you know, like us humans.
My sister and I adopted and adult pit from a shelter. He was amazing!! After 4 years, we lost him to cancer this month. Didn’t see any signs of an issue til it was too late
Option 1 it’s the BEST. I got my girl as 30 day puppy back on 2019 and it’s gorgeous, big spiked bat ears, black eyelined eyes and short tricolor fur, it’s like a small German shepherd with short hair like a Doberman the size of smaller than a greyhound . . . Is there any breed like it?
best to call out needs for lots of exercise, like the beagle and some terriers, and also the need for daily thorough brushing plus regular professional grooming by all the long-haired ones... makes them not "easy"
A further explanation of the problems with brachycephalic (brăck'y-se-făl-lick) dogs' breathing problems is that because they have the shortened face and their muzzle does not grow long due to a genetic mutation, their inner airways from nostril to lungs are either rippled or smashed together because they can't grow lenthwise due to the bone mutation that causes their snout not to grow, they are compressed together, you see. Any animal or human being that cannot breathe through the nasal passages as and they should or whose airways are blocked by obesity, affected by COPD or other diseases, or genetic mutation of tissues or of the skull such as this, end up having heart problems and other organ because sufficient amounts of oxygen cannot get to the lungs often enough to get to the blood, which carries it all organs to keep them healthy and functioning and, well.. living. There are other factors, of course, that keep organs healthy, but that is the function of blood - to carry oxygen to every part of the body including the largest organ of all, the skin. Yes, it's an organ. Advice for those wanting a brachycephalic breed: When the dog is at rest before ever getting excited, hopefully and running around a lot, look directly into its nose and if you cannot see dark shadow in there, you are more than likely looking at pinched nares. In other words, the inner nasal passageway is not freely open and is compressed together. Depending on the color of the nose sometimes you can actually see the sides of the nasal passages touching each other. When the dog is playing, check out how hard it is for him to breathe, if it snorts a lot, or how many times he lays down to rest to catch his breath...how labored is his breathing? Is it in the same proportion of how hard he has just played or has he only played for a little while (minutes) and then plopped from complete exhaustion to recover? ...and then how long does that recovery take? At this time, I am not sure if there is a corrective procedure that can be done by the veterinarian, but if there is, I am fairly certain that it is probably someahat likened to the tubes they put in kids' ears to keep them operational or like these stents they place in major arteries for people who have had blood clots due to arteriosclerosis, or high cholesterol plaque in the veins that caused them to shut down, not allowing blood to flow properly so the doctors must open those up which is tantamount to putting a culvert in so a road won't cave in. The shortened skull condition also causes many of the dogs further problems because of their tongue being too big for their mouth. It may be hard for them to eat or drink or swallow or all of the above and let's not leave out the problem of breathing while they're sleeping. This is why they snore so bad . . . And even snort so much when at play, or just walking across the room. Their tongue is too big. If the tongue's too big, and it cannot fit in the mouth it hangs out. If the tongue hangs out it gets drier and drier, which is irritating because it can't go inside the mouth and get moistened up. The irritation can cause swelling. Also comma if a dog has a tongue that is so big and hangs out of its mouth due to how pendulous it is, it can get edema, which is a circulation problem. Both of these conditions converge when a slightly too large tongue begins to get irritated and begins to swell and begins to hang when it wasn't that big in the first place before it got irritated. I bet you didn't know that dogs Lap water by curling their tongue downward to form a scoop or ladle to draw it into the lower jaw. I had wondered this all my life and just the other day I actually saw a video reporting on a scientific study. God bless RUclips for giving folks a forum for and a medium with which they can show themselves off and even help their fellow man!
I have heard Boston Terrier trumps French bulldog via Longer life span and less health concerns and just an all around better and more versatile animal. thoughts?
@@leeojascastro711 Maybe a little, but it depends a lot on their owners. However, although they are a bit stubborn, they have others qualities that make them irresistible and the best dogs. They are smart, playful, loyal, funny, adorable, and as soon as you meet them, you will love them unconditionally 🌞🐕❤
Yes, however not for everyone. Mine was feisty, stubborn, headstrong and defiant. However if you work with them by applying humor and talking to them conversationally rather than by commands, they'll respond. And who says the human "owner" can't also be a little stubborn in return? Like, "Oh no you don't!"

You left out the best small dog in the world. West Highland White Terrier

@@karenmullen3210 No, it’s because I wasn’t brushing them daily. 😩😩😩 I was combing them twice a week. So I’ve started a new regime!
I have two Chinese Cresteds. They are mostly hairless so they are easy to groom and don’t shed. They have sweet personalities and love their people.
I love mutts. So far I have only adopted one that was what they claimed it would be 😂😂 but they are always wonderful.
