I’d suggest a girl toy poodle train her to go on puppy pads inside a litter box or pet playpen. This way she can go potty if you can’t go outside. I trained my girl like that and when I had to run errands for my dad I didn’t have to worry about him taking her out to go potty or even having to open the door for her because he was very unsteady on his feet.
Any dog can be left alone for a few hours. I have a clingy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and can leave her home 3-4 hours at a time. She is kennel trained so she stays in there when we are gone. On a rare occasion we have left her 6-7 hours. When they are puppies they don’t like to be left alone, but we still went to church once a week. She loves to go with us in the car too. Some dogs can be destructive, but most can adapt to your lifestyle. Certain breeds wouldn’t do well if you work all day every day.

@@thealmightychicos I understand. And I have no problem with getting a dog from a reputable breeder. But like you said, it’s important to know the dog’s history. I don’t agree .A breed can have traits and even when well bred and trained they are the same as humans . Hyper breeds and working breeds... border collies and jack russells.. two breeds that need to keep physically busy, are home wreckers if not entertained.
How can I possibly take as serious any advise from anyone who hasnt taken the time to learn how to correctly pronounce the names of well known breeds in dog world. Did he just read a script? Probably doesn't even like dogs.
No dog should be left alone for more than a few hours. Not fair to any breed of dog. When we work (e.g. 8 or more hours) they should be place in a "daycare" where they are taken out to play and are walked)...e.g. a Pet Smart that has daycare). Not good to make a dog have to "hold it" for "too many hours" unless it's become habit. My Pug now 5 for the first 5 years "needed" 4 walks a day. (morning, afternoon, after dinner and before bedtime). Now he rarely needs the "before bedtime walk". Can hold it for about 12 hours. Been doing that all year . And I wouldn't have if he still required his 4th walk of the day. I'm actually suprised he can hold his urges that long...we can't. :) But really it's simply not fair I think to leave any dog alone for 8 plus hours a day. Even if they are well behaved. And wont end up damaging our home in anger or boredom. I've always had some one home during the day or have been working from home. We MUST devote time to them. Expect that we can't suddenly decide to go out for 10 hours any more..I have never been away from my dog (3rd dog) for more than 3-4 hours).
No one are bred to work 9 to 5 or longer for the rest of their lives but here we are. At this point we could just stop at being so prescious and suggest a dog for everyone.
NO! Dogs are pack animals - and pack animals are together 100% of the time, they are NEVER alone. If you can't afford a rescue canine companion for your dog you shouldn't have any.
Ah, just a moment people before you rush into judgement here, define the word PACK. Who makes up the pack? A pack of identical dogs, a pack of different breeds, a pack of variously aged dogs? The fact is that some dog breeds can be left alone to entertain themselves while other breeds can not, just like some humans are content contemplatives craving solitude while other humans are party animals. There's variety in nature you know. In my pack it's me and my therapy dog and she doesn't wine or bark or destroy when I go out without her.
@@janealan2142 Animals can learn to survive is all sorts of situations - elephants locked in cages, fish in round bowls, its not about what they learn to live with - it's about what nature intended for them. Yes some dogs live more independently from their packs (I have Chows that do this, guarding rooms alone from choice) BUT the pack is always still there. and they will often choose times to be together. I would never EVER leave a dog alone, particularly a loyal therapy dog who lives their life serving me.

They all have their little personalities, just like we do, but that doesn’t make them less worthy of our love and a forever home.
@@cynthiaescamilla2649 that's why you go to a breeder. Not a puppy mill. I'm looking for a dog but I refuse to go to a shelter. This shelter refused to give me a dog because my dog is big and I wanted a small dog. Then another one refused be side my yard was not big enough. Tf? Do you want to adopt out a dog or being greedy? So I skip the shelter and go to breeder. If shelters are that picky I'm not jumping hurdles for a dog that needs home visits and more. It's a dog not a human being!
I got an exception to this list apparently. My frenchie is an absolute terror 🤣🤣🤣
Haha sometimes they are🐶😂
If your frenchy is a terror then you’re are a terrible owner... no offense... But a dog ( especially a french bulldog) can’t be a terror unless you’re reinforcing terrible behavior...
A golden retriever and a schu
I am just trying to get a dog 🐕 that will get a job and pay the rent and set on the couch 🛋 with me a pay the rent is that asking to much 🤓😏🧐🤨🤪
I don’t agree .A breed can have traits and even when well bred and trained they are the same as humans . One of us can be brave and spend time on our own yet somebody else suffer from anxiety,a dog always needs companionship and love ,they are a pack animal and no dog should be left for long spells in my humble opinion
Obvious that this person has never owned a Bassett. They get lonely very easily and they will bay so loud that you can hear them for blocks.
choow choow? Sounds like a train. Try pronouncing it like how with a ch in front.
We are selling 6 of our puppies for half the price.

Does anyone leave their dachshund home alone til they return from work?
Did you find out? I was wondering the same as you.
The French Bulldog doesn't belong within 100 miles of this list.
Or chihuahuas.
Puppy factory.
Ok your almost 100 percent wrong. If left alone for long most of these dogs will either become aggressive or they will destroy your home
Not true. My dog is left one and he is not aggressive. If your dog destroys your home then put it in a crate.
Hyper breeds and working breeds... border collies and jack russells.. two breeds that need to keep physically busy, are home wreckers if not entertained.
ChoCho? Chow Chow silly
How much
Lol where is Maltese?
Where’s the Pug?
I agree. So selfish, maybe some of these people should get a goldfish instead ?
No one are bred to work 9 to 5 or longer for the rest of their lives but here we are. At this point we could just stop at being so prescious and suggest a dog for everyone.
Chihuahuas don't do great alone!
NO! Dogs are pack animals - and pack animals are together 100% of the time, they are NEVER alone. If you can't afford a rescue canine companion for your dog you shouldn't have any.
Omg shut up!
Learning this now after buying my dog
I would never EVER leave a dog alone, particularly a loyal therapy dog who lives their life serving me.

it’s crazy i worked with dogs and this is all cap i worked at day cars my whole life
I want dogs that can be left alone for long time there'll always be games
@@wyn3r562 well you need to get a dog that doesn’t demand to much energy probably a huge asss dog. Small dogs cry lmao all the fucken time even at day cares were i try my best to comfort. They will never feel good unless they around you to make you feel better that’s just the way they are
I hate chihuahuas
Maybe they hate you too!
That's because you have never had one yourself. All little animals are beautiful
