It definitely can make your joints angry at night. It’s all about finding balance which isn’t always easy but once you do it can be really powerful

Important information. I do have to rest about every hour. Once or twice a day I use a rolled towel or firm pillow if I don’t have my foam roll to relax my back. I also simply sit in crossed leg position with my painful hip supported with a rolled towel.

Excellent video. I have been waking up every night with pain during this month long flare up. I will reevaluate my activity levels and sit down times. It’s so hard to gage when for so many years the type of exercises were considered so little compared to what I was used to dong for exercise; but of course that was before I became so severe with knee osteoarthritis. So blessed to have found you. I need not look any further for extra support PT online. You are the best! God bless you. ❤❤❤

Really helpful information. I suspected that my low back pain at night might be linked to long walks in hilly countryside the day before. Reducing walking distances I think will help. Thanks so much for all your very helpful videos. 😊

    Does heat increase inflammation?
I use a flaxseed cold pack on my shoulders and a topical gel with menthol, emu oil and aloe that works long enough to allow me to get to sleep.
I've been in constant high level of pain for about six months and I believe that my pain has become centralized. I sleep about 1-3 hours a night.

Hi Dr. Kuhn. Are these tips also applicable for those with RA? I used to go for slow, long walks in the evening and I was fine. However, recently I decided to walk a little faster and this has resulted in my suffering from severe pain in both my knees. It is also very difficult for me to sleep at night as I can't find any comfortable position for my legs. I really hope that you can give me some advice. Thank you.

I’m finding your videos so helpful..I started some balance exercises yesterday as I’ve arthritis in both hips..walking is a challenge ,however I swim and now do added exercises in pool daily
Interesting you suggest do not over do it..I wonder if this is my note to self to be mindful around exercises..I’ve at tendency to push on through..wendy

Alyssa...my sweetheart of 41 years has osteoarthiritus, fibromyalgia, old back injury...she hurts so bad sleeping on any mattress. She is now using our firmer livingroom couch. Pillow support rarely helps. Shes only getting 3 hours sleep. How can she find a good nights rest??? Please, I need some ideas. Is there any air support pants or something??😮❤

Looking at incorporating strengthening movements during the day can help with pain at night. Incorporating more anti inflammatory foods can help too.
