      Hello, I’ve been suffering from anterior pelvic tilt for several months and I’m tired of it. It slows me down in Track & Field, it’s hard for me to sleep on my back which is my favorite sleeping position; I don’t have any back pain or hip flexor pain as sitting and lying on a harder surfaces helps a lot. My ATP causes me to walk straight up causing my ribs to flare.

    • @juliusjackson5162
      @juliusjackson5162 3 года назад +1

      @Upright Health Since I’m very serious in Track & Field, I always strengthen my abs, glutes, hip flexors, and the rest of my lower body muscles. I’ve been even stretching my tight hip flexors; they fly in the air when I reverse my pelvic tilt because they’re so tight even after all of the strengthening and stretching. I’m not really sure what to do as no one takes me seriously and it’s extremely frustrating as an athlete as I can’t do my very best in the sport I love. Should I continue to contract my abs to reduce hip tightness or even fix my arched back? Could rib flare cause tightness cause tight hip flexors? No one really understands what I’m going through which makes it very hard since it’s just me; I really need help.

    I have had a left hip issue since 2018. Went to Dr and told I had arthritis in my hip. He said take Celebrex. I chose no. I did so many exercises to alleviate the issue. Still hobbled after sitting. I recently came across this video and did these simple exercises. I was at my wits end. Couldn’t even complete a walk without pain. I had made an appt with the doc again. By the time I got to my appt I thought I should cancel it. It was like a miracle. I had no issues with my hip. I went on a trip and even with lots of sitting on a plane I had no issue. For the first time in years I didn’t think about it. The doc said I had bone on bone arthritis which means hip replacement. They told me to keep doing what I’m doing and come back to see them when it’s an issue. Thank you so much for this video. Life changing! I plan to avoid drugs and surgery.

My advice: avoid unnecessary medical intervention if exercises help.

    I've complained and gone to doctor several times for knee jerks, very sensitive hip pain, restless leg, and leg cramps at night, with foot stretches to help relieve pain in bed.
    Being low in iron is crucial. Being dehydrated is critical.

    This video is 2 years old. I’ve been following Upright Health for about a year now. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the hips after living a seriously active lifestyle. I was a surfer, bicycle racer, climber, and could hike for miles without any pain. Into my 50’s I was still walking miles and climbing around the rocks and fishing. Slower now but not painful at all. Then my dad died. I flew from Hawaii to Canada to his empty house. He was my best friend. Now he’s gone. I went into a deep depression. Just sat there for a couple years. Finally started doing things without any pain, hiking through the woods, riding my bike, and I was fine.
    Moved to Washington and worked on boats like I always have. Still no pain. Then all of a sudden my hips just locked up in severe pain. No event happened, I went from perfectly fine to crippled in one day. The doctors recommended a double hip replacement.
    I laughed, “Last week I could climb the side of this hospital, it’s something else going on here. I’m not doing surgery, see ya.”
    So that’s when I started looking up physical therapists on RUclips and found Upright Health and a few others who all said the same thing. If you’re getting older and haven’t kept up your younger physical activity, you’re going to fall apart. And that’s what happened to me. I didn’t even notice it happening. So, I’ve been limping around in extreme pain for a year and methodically following the hip exercises. It hurts and it takes a long time. No improvement at all for months. Then there are strange painless days where you walk normal and even hop a little. Then the pain is back. But after a year now I’m on my bike again.
    Always think muscles. That’s where it’s at my friends. 🤙🏼

    I've been miserable every night for months now and figured it's time to call the doctor. I found this video last night at 2 in the morning, as I couldn't sleep from the pain, and decided what the heck let's try it. When I say I got immediate relief!!! I never imagined it would help so quickly. I slept like a baby for those last few hours and can't wait to get a full night's sleep after continuing these exercises. Thank you SO SO MUCH!!

    I am 72 years of age. and I had been waking up in the A.M. with a great deal of hip pain. I could only walk by powering through the pain. I did 5 reps of those hip / glute exercises just two times skipping one day in between and the pain stopped. I did the side hip exercise with my leg extended, but it worked for me. Where have you been all my life?! I had bilateral PAO surgeries in 2019 & 2020 which helped but last summer my hip pain returned on my right side. I am super active and even teach a group power weights class but still, I think I’m weak! I can’t sleep on my right side with out pain! I had 2 ortho doctors tell me I have a spot where there was bone on bone. But it didn’t seem right. Since last summer, I’ve returned to my active life and even WON a trail 5K a few weeks ago. I just know it’s muscular and that I don’t need a hip replacement like they said. Especially after going through the HELLa hard surgerys- “Periacetabular Osteotomy”. My hip did not hurt during or after the race but will hurt randomly, like this weekend when I haven’t even worked out! I’ll be implementing all your advice! Thank you for sharing your tremendous knowledge and understanding!

    In my journey, I have made a mistake by stretching my left hip. Mostly piriformis and gluteus medius. I torn the muscles slightly. Now I learned a hard lesson that I should never stretch muscles in their weakest state. Because they are dry and stiff. Only stretch muscles when their blood circulation is improved. This is done by strengthening them in the first stage. Do the stretching afterwards.

I've understood for about a decade now that Fibromyalgia was not the right diagnosis, but have never come across a physician that would even attempt an explanation of my hip issues (other than xrays which showed no abnormalities, so that was the end of the discussion) all I ever got for treatment was antidepressants that I didn't need, made me feel and behave strangely, and put strain on my social and home life. It’s important to note if you can’t stabilize your core (long term i developed a anterior pelvic tilt from weak lower abs) that’s the first thing you need to address- you’re not going to be able to fully stabilize/perform with proper form for most exercises until you strengthen your core.
    Pelvic tilts are associated with hip impingements- that’s because they both indicate an imbalance of your lower back, ab, and hip (even down to your legs) muscles. So it’s important to go to a PT first. These exercises may help you until you can see one- but if you have access- please go! I tried seeing a personal trainer first but just ended up hurting my IT band (1-2month long rest required for that btw). A good PT will be able to help you know which issues to first address- or issues you never even spotted yourself.
    I can do push ups, and I can even weight lift- but I haven’t been doing these things with a fully stabilized core leading to countless injuries. Just because you can- doesn’t mean you should. And I really thought and even looked like I had good form too. Now I’m back at the basics and swimming until my knee heals along with other imbalances fixed.
