I can’t lift my leg more than 10cms, cross my leg, do most of the stretches I used to do, wear a sock or shoes with laces, walk without a limp, get in my car easily, climb stairs, etc… Thanks again.
This video has given me a boost in thinking that I will be able to overcome my knee and left hip problem. Being 84 years old things has allowed me to think taht being old and feeble is a given situation. However, I really need to crack this situation as I am my wifes fu;ll time carer, (shes 82 and with stage 6 Alzheimers. Unfortunately only having one son to help, (and he does what he can). means the majority of the caring load falls to me, a full 24 hours, with minimal private carers due to the costs, $11,000 a month). So, as you can see i have a few personal drivers!!!!! This channel has given me a boost to take the responsibility for my own physical health as so much is riding on a good result.
@barrycrook5995 Matt's advice is awesome, and I think you'll benefit by practicing what he says. For your wife, I suggest you search how a high-fat carnivore diet has helped many people with neurological disorders, including dementia and Alzheimers disease.

I had a painful hip for about 6 weeks. I found your channel just three days ago and after doing some of the hip workouts you recommend, the pain is almost gone and I can walk normally. I am very thankful.
My MIL is wasting away in a nursing home because her muscles are literally DEAD and she can barely stand up, much less walk without support. My hips are pretty good but I joined your channel to work on rehabbing my knees and by God, IT'S WORKING!! My goal is to Asian squat well so I can poop in the woods...sounds funny but we hike a lot and there aren't many toilets 9000 feet up!
Nice job! You've made a good choice to improve your mobility to improve your abilities! I saw my mom and dad waste away with atrophy. It's not pretty or enjoyable for anyone involved. Gotta keep moving! 💪

I’ve been cleaning up my nutrition for about 5 years as well, seems that’s a never ending process! Knee rehab, Pilates, yoga, walking and hiking, plus clean and natural eating…I’m getting every last healthy breath possible!

I go to a physio who can take my pain away with different than most physio but it doesn’t last. I need exercises. Been doing your hip ones as had r knee replacement 10 yrs ago and now r hip and really don’t want surgery. I have to learn what exercises to NOT wreck my back more than it is. Thanks love your videos and try my best! My goal is back to walking 5k etc whereas now can barely go around the block

I shattered my posterior acetabulum and dislocated my hip in a bouldering accident about 1.5 years ago. I had surgery with 2 plates and ive been following your youtube stuff for over a year now. I’m now doing a one legged asian squat (just holding the bottom position, still working on pistol) and almost have my forehead to the ground in pancake pose. At my one year follow up my doctor said that I had hip impingent on xray and said that I should see a “joint preservation specialist”. I’m so glad I found your videos instead. I’m more flexible than Ive ever been in my life, and strength is progressing. I no longer have any pain. I want to climb v5 outdoors this fall.

I will say my doctor is fantastic and instead of telling me to stop moving my arthritic hip (I’m in my early 30s) has encouraged me to move it. I have chronic pain so I can push through to build muscle support for my hip. That’s why I’m here! Thank you ❤
I’m so happy I found this channel. I’m recovering from a bad bout of PMR which happened during Covid, right after getting the vaccine. My doctor didn’t diagnose it &?I was practically bedridden for 6 months until going to a different doctor and getting diagnosed. Needless to say, the period of inactivity had terrible effects on my body. Now I’m really trying to recover (also have fibromyalgia). I bought an eTrike and it has given me a new lease on life. I use the lowest level of pedal assist because I know I need to get the exercise from pedaling. I could really identify with what you discussed in this video. I am off of all medications now and am just trying to get as strong as I can. Thanks so much for posting this. I’m not giving up. I’m 71, by the way.
I’m in my 20s and have had both of my hips replaced (I had bilateral hip dysplasia causing early arthritis and bone-on-bone arthritis by the time I was diagnosed 🙃). I love dance, though I knew that I was in so much more pain when I did it (especially ballet). But I loved it, so I kept doing it. As a dancer, I had strong legs and good range of motion in my hips. It just wasn’t enough to overcome the underlying deformity. I did everything. Exercise, physical therapy, stretching, etc. and I continued to get worse bc that’s the natural progression of my condition. Point being, yes, do everything in your power to give yourself the best shot at reducing/eliminating pain! However, also accept that there is a possibility that it may not work. Don’t beat yourself up or feel like you’re failing if you do all these things he’s suggesting and it doesn’t solve your problems. Because these solutions suggested in the video do not have to be mutually exclusive with medical (or even surgical) management. Especially for conditions like mine where there’s a huge range of severity in terms of degree of dysplasia and in terms of symptoms. Some people may experience elimination of pain with these tips alone, but some people may not. If you’re one of those people it didn’t work on, that doesn’t mean you’re the problem
@mioww325 there is no one size fits all ppl. There are foundational facts that apply to all... then there is the invidual ❤ I choose to go with my intuition and I'm busting my butt quite literally 😂 I am not bone on bone, was very active and flexible when I recently severely treated tissue in both hips. Labrum tears are real & painful. 50/50 chance they heal. With cysts, mine tend to calcify. I've already said no to hip replacements. Trying PRP & HBOT but at the end of the day, I will consider labrum surgery to prevent issues later. Time will tell, until then I'm here and continuing to do the exercises. Already said no to back surgeries several times, I do exercise to keep it strong. We will see how much more hip crap I can take...
I'm 60 years old and had failed meniscus surgery six years ago. Through exercise on my own, my knee is feeling better, but five years ago my IT band started to act up and it has gotten progressively worse. I've gone to SO MANY places for help and no one, NO ONE, has been able to help me. My goal is to return to my daily walks which I so enjoyed taking every day after work, 3 - 5 miles. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease after my first back surgery to fix herniated disc, instead of 15 minute surgery got 3 hours. Sawed 2'sets of vertabr apart and had to lift sciatica out to drill opening in vertebrae where it was starting to pinch. That was 27 years ago. Now have peripheral neuripathy, osteoporosis, arthritus, tons of scar tussue, dorsal spinal column srumulator, nuts, screws, braces, and a titanium implant. I want to wake up and be able too smile and be happy instead if gritting my teeth and trying not to scream. I really really enjoy your channel! Keep up the good work!
I had both hips replaced 5 years ago. I was fine, back to playing golf. Recently I started having pain in my left hip again. I’m 71 years old. I started exercising my glutes. I’m going to start following your program… thanks.
I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right femoral head (I think the the right term). It's "affecting" both sides, but the right is more severe. I know movement and strength training helps because I worked with a personal trainer for 8 months and I was pain free for most of it. Just as you said though, the pain was gone so I stopped working out and am regretting it now because the pain is much worse. I plan to implement your stretching and stregthening videos so that I can fearlessly get back to strength training, roller/ice skating and join a kickboxing class again. Those are the movement activities that bring me joy.
WOW! So glad I found your channel! I'm a 70 year old woman who loves to train with weights and kickbox, but recently hip pain has held me back. I still want to work out and do. I will follow youas this makes so much more sense than drugs or surgery!

I want to be able to go into savasana pain free, be able to asian squat, and be strong for the rest of my life. My physio who diagnosed me with SI joint pain told me that my pain in savasana was normal because she said she has it, too...She just recommended a thicker mat for that. I know it's not normal, it felt nearly paralyzing at its worst and was excruciating to sit up from. Plus, I didn't always feel like that from savasana. Thank you for your videos and sharing your personal story. You are an inspiration to me. It's so sad how many people in assisted living homes have just given up strengthening their bodies, succumbing to wasting away. I currently work in one. It's definitely a wake up call.
Tyfs. I’ll be 63 next month I’m working on eliminating sugar, grains, oil, nightshade and brassica greens off my diet towards very low carbs ketovore for about a year besides strength training now. I noticed my arthritic right hip was no longer hurting after decades of pain. In fact I could get straight up off the floor without support. I need a strong 💪 for another 40 years. 😅
Right there with ya, but I do love my oatmeal!! Just ditched nightshades 2 weeks ago. Also discovered glucosamine is usually sourced from sea creatures with shells 😢 no more glucosamine and all my joints are feeling better. Hips need work. Swear by Hylaluronate, for me & my 32 yr horse.

I used to have knee problems and I worked on the muscles surrounding my knee years ago and got results. You have confirmed my theory. I thank you. I have my naysayers telling me to get surgery, and I expressed my rebuttal years ago, only to be met with condemnation. Five years ago, I ran a half marathon and resume teaching martial arts(Wing Chun and Yang Tai Chi) without pain. My friend in her '70s has hip pain. I encourage her to move. She says that she has to rest it and keep it from overuse. That is definitely PFF! I your wish you had articles written out that I could send her because she won't watch videos.
These videos are amazing! I got FAI and labral repair last year after waiting over Covid, thinking it'd solve everything. Well i'm a year on and it didn't fix it but im inspired to keep at these exercises to get back out cycling further and further. Cheers!

After a lifetime as an athlete, covid lockdown was the first time I took a "break" for a few months. The pain and depression spiral hit quickly and hard (and ortho professionals seem almost criminal). I'm going to be able to run (casually) again. Your think-move right connection is spot-on - the CNS-musculoskeletal relationship is cooperative, not top-down. When we think about *anything*, our bodies do part of the planning & thinking. Movement is thought - we couldn't even walk if our brain had to control a million motor-units.
Thank you for reiterating what I believe and that's surgery is NOT what I want! My big goal is to be able to do full squats and pigeon pose without props. That'll do for now! I'll come up with new goals once I've gotten there.

Goals: standing for more than 20 minutes without back pain, squat, (eventually full squat, but any squat below knee height would be great) ease in getting up and down from floor, ease in dancing, ease in walking and hiking without hip or back pain. I'm in my mid-50s and have been struggling since my late 40s with this.
I have hip and back pain for months now so I will like to get back on my feet soon so l will try these exercises because I can't stand up long and I can't sit down long I have problems going in and out of car
I am having fai a couple of years but I was blaming heep arthritis and sciatica. Pain (mostly) left heep coused more pain in my athritic right knee to the point being unstable. All the time I didnt know that FAI was the main problem. Now I know, I am excerice more and I am aware of what is too much for my joints. I dont want surgery and painkillers, so the only answer is - muscles.
What if I have hip pain but no issues with range of motion? I do strength training 3+ days a week and heavily emphasize glute/LPHC exercises when working out (which used to be enough). And, I'm also a personal trainer. Gute (specifically, glute med) training used to keep the aches at bay, but that's no longer working. Oh, and...I believe I lie on the hypermobile spectrum...if that sways your answer. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Also, thanks for your well-made, skillfully taught, and delightful content!! 60 years old, always working with horses. Running after a horse on uneven ground and hyperextending both legs and twisting really tore up my hips. Like you said, labrum tear w/cyst on right hip. Haven't done mri on left. After resting my body, now I'm worse off and doing PT to get back. Neither hip feels right. Left feels out of socket. After walking 1 mile on flat ground, both hips have groin pain = labrum tear. Doing 2 miles the other days with some hills involved about killed me. Had friends who did labrum repair surgery. What is wrong with repairing tears? I've had answers saying 50/50 chances of labrum healing. In addition to continuing PT (tho they are chatty women and useless so I come here!) Doing PRP & HBOT. Already had a fight with an ortho Dr who said you need a new hip (all he saw was an xray!) I said I think NOT!!! And squatted down to the ground & then stood straight up 100% unassisted. He walked out without a word. There is damage. It's not responding in the groin area. Feels like tears in the glutes too. Still trying but losing hope I'll ever be on my horses again 😢 so depression now on top off it all. Did one injection, discovered the drs at this practice all lie. Not one even saw my mri cuz they never got a copy! They know they are in a sham business. Maybe there are times for conservative surgery??
I have COPD - 63 years of age and have been suffering from CFS for the past 4.5 years. My overall Body condition is losing more and more strength and is next to zero! Lower Back and Hip pain - now on both sides is of the scale now. I know I need to move more but I always pay 3 bedridden and housebound Days for just trying to push past the pain for any length of time
Hello...my right hip is worn out..says ortho dr..who also said he was not going to recommend hip replacement. Range of motion, walking w/limp...at time use walking stick!!! How much moving must u do in a day? I do take care if my home..inside and some gardening! Lots if driving couple times week 40/60 mi. What can I do to NIT LIMP..OR USE WALKING ATICK. I'm on board with every single word you're sharing 🙏 I've been doing your exercises and I'm active, I'm half way to 70. However my hips are keeping me awake at night. My question is, more and more research is pointing to joint pain as a menopausal lack of estrogen. So despite all the exercise I'm doing, I don't seem to be getting better. Do you think besides identifying weak glutes as a problem that it's possible lack of estrogen is also part of the problem?
I will take this video to heart and really try to address my muscle weaknesses. I like the idea of focusing on a goal rather than the pain reduction itself. Sometimes I have pain in what feels like a C shape around one hip, especially when sleeping…I wonder if it’s a specific muscle
Try the ketovore or carnivore diet also. A lot of hip and knee problems are nutrional, and meat is especially good for joint pain, including osteoporosis
@jamesmpetrakis6019 I found out recently I have bilateral ischiofemoral impingement with muscle degradation plus bilateral small acetabular tears both sides. Waiting to hear treatment plan
My ambitious goals are walking my way (with some diet changes) to 180 pounds weight loss and be able to do a deep Asian squat with out pain. I figure these 2 will mean I am doing a variety of other exercises to strengthen and loosen up a variety of places since I have a connective tissue disorder that means I regularly dislocate things. Since I broke my foot in April, I've been having issues with the bone in the outside of my foot keeps going out of place and putting pressure in my ankle/arch and so forth. So far I am regularly up to walking 20-25 minutes at a time. Hoping to get to 60 before my round of Body Slims starts in September.
"Painful hole" ! Isn't that the truth!!! I know that exercise is the answer because after I completed PT I was pain free for awhile but I slacked off and the pain returned. I need to start again. I want to be able to walk without my leg dropping out of nowhere. I want to ice-skate again without the fear of falling. I had a major fall last year and landed on my head. I passed out immediately and ended up with a head concussion. I want to feel stable again in life.
I have tried acupuncture, orthopedic doctors, chiropractors, physical therapy and exercises and I still have my pain going on 10 years now. I have great flexibility in my hip joints. Not an issue. I was told I have bone spurs three of them but I really don't know what it is or how to get rid of the pain
Well, I want to ride horses again. Am swimming and doing exercises. Doctor said that my right hip has only 1mm of cartilage left (X ray). Love and greetings from Germany.

Thank you, I’m a Ironman triathlete I had a Hernia op end of 2022, as I started to specifically run I had sharp pain in that area, went back to GP found I had rubbish range of motion and x ray showed bone on bone, I still push myself and try to run but eventually the pain is too much sometimes it’s a nerve pain down past the side of the knee, can’t run downhill. I know I neglect stretching and strengthening

I left glue is extremely weak and I can't even bridge up on that side really I think this is what led to my herniated disc and now I'm really walking with a tilted. Can you please do a video on disc hernation related to hip Weakness and imbalance.i I feel like I'm getting weaker cuz it's not going on month for the l5 s1 herniation with radicular pain anf foot mumbmess
I really miss being able to sit cross legged and I can no longer throw my leg back, up and over my saddle to ride my horses. Also, when seated on my horse, it's painful with my hips in that position, spread apart. I've been doing exercises to keep my muscles strong, but I would like to be able to ride again one day. It's been 1 year since I've been able to. That's my ultimate goal.
I want to learn how to surf , do a deep squat on flat feet , and play tag w my son and cartwheels. I started seeing a chiropractor and have had major relief , but worried my muscles are not getting the attention they deserve. I plan on seeing a PT when I'm towards the end of these chiro visits.

As a 60 year-old landscaper, most of my body feels great. But I have two trigger points in my left TFL that are chronic. I have been to 15 health care practioners and nobody can seem to release those knots. I am going to see if strengthening my glutes helps, but all three of the PTs I've seen have said my problem isn't muscle weakness, it's overuse. It's confounding trying to figure this out to say the least.
I am 69 years old with a hip replacement already and the other hip is giving me severe pain now I want to be able to go at the amusement park from 10 am to 9 PM several times a year; and be able to dance for an hour twice a week

Has anyone heard of Dr. John E Sarno M.D.? He posited that chronic back pain etc is due to psychological causes. It completely changed my view of chronic pain (and life).

I will say my doctor is fantastic and instead of telling me to stop moving my arthritic hip (I’m in my early 30s) has encouraged me to move it. I have chronic pain so I can push through to build muscle support for my hip. That’s why I’m here! Thank you ❤
I’m so happy I found this channel. I’m recovering from a bad bout of PMR which happened during Covid, right after getting the vaccine. My doctor didn’t diagnose it &?I was practically bedridden for 6 months until going to a different doctor and getting diagnosed. Needless to say, the period of inactivity had terrible effects on my body. Now I’m really trying to recover (also have fibromyalgia). I bought an eTrike and it has given me a new lease on life. I use the lowest level of pedal assist because I know I need to get the exercise from pedaling. I could really identify with what you discussed in this video. I am off of all medications now and am just trying to get as strong as I can. Thanks so much for posting this. I’m not giving up. I’m 71, by the way.
I’m in my 20s and have had both of my hips replaced (I had bilateral hip dysplasia causing early arthritis and bone-on-bone arthritis by the time I was diagnosed 🙃). I love dance, though I knew that I was in so much more pain when I did it (especially ballet). But I loved it, so I kept doing it. As a dancer, I had strong legs and good range of motion in my hips. It just wasn’t enough to overcome the underlying deformity. I did everything. Exercise, physical therapy, stretching, etc. and I continued to get worse bc that’s the natural progression of my condition. Point being, yes, do everything in your power to give yourself the best shot at reducing/eliminating pain! However, also accept that there is a possibility that it may not work. Don’t beat yourself up or feel like you’re failing if you do all these things he’s suggesting and it doesn’t solve your problems. Because these solutions suggested in the video do not have to be mutually exclusive with medical (or even surgical) management. Especially for conditions like mine where there’s a huge range of severity in terms of degree of dysplasia and in terms of symptoms. Some people may experience elimination of pain with these tips alone, but some people may not. If you’re one of those people it didn’t work on, that doesn’t mean you’re the problem

There are foundational facts that apply to all... then there is the invidual ❤ I choose to go with my intuition and I'm busting my butt quite literally 😂 I am not bone on bone, was very active and flexible when I recently severely treated tissue in both hips. Labrum tears are real & painful. 50/50 chance they heal. With cysts, mine tend to calcify.
I've already said no to hip replacements.
Trying PRP & HBOT but at the end of the day, I will consider labrum surgery to prevent issues later. Time will tell, until then I'm here and continuing to do the exercises.
Already said no to back surgeries several times, I do exercise to keep it strong. We will see how much more hip crap I can take...
I'm 60 years old and had failed meniscus surgery six years ago. Through exercise on my own, my knee is feeling better, but five years ago my IT band started to act up and it has gotten progressively worse. I've gone to SO MANY places for help and no one, NO ONE, has been able to help me. My goal is to return to my daily walks which I so enjoyed taking every day after work, 3 - 5 miles. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease after my first back surgery to fix herniated disc, instead of 15 minute surgery got 3 hours. Sawed 2'sets of vertabr apart and had to lift sciatica out to drill opening in vertebrae where it was starting to pinch. That was 27 years ago. Now have peripheral neuripathy, osteoporosis, arthritus, tons of scar tussue, dorsal spinal column srumulator, nuts, screws, braces, and a titanium implant. I want to wake up and be able too smile and be happy instead if gritting my teeth and trying not to scream. I really really enjoy your channel! Keep up the good work!
I had both hips replaced 5 years ago. I was fine, back to playing golf. Recently I started having pain in my left hip again. I’m 71 years old. I started exercising my glutes.

I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right femoral head (I think the the right term). It's "affecting" both sides, but the right is more severe. I know movement and strength training helps because I worked with a personal trainer for 8 months and I was pain free for most of it. Just as you said though, the pain was gone so I stopped working out and am regretting it now because the pain is much worse. I plan to implement your stretching and stregthening videos so that I can fearlessly get back to strength training, roller/ice skating and join a kickboxing class again. Those are the movement activities that bring me joy.
WOW! So glad I found your channel! I'm a 70 year old woman who loves to train with weights and kickbox, but recently hip pain has held me back. I still want to work out and do. I will follow youas this makes so much more sense than drugs or surgery!

Thanks so much for your "talking to me" re getting my hip & knees healed without surgery & injections. I want to get back to doing my LibecDance & Belly dancing workouts. I've stayed healthy doing them. If I have to sit long, I do butt holds & get up & walk around every 30-40 minutes. Goal is fix my muscle embalance, strengthen glutes.
I want to be able to go into savasana pain free, be able to asian squat, and be strong for the rest of my life. My physio who diagnosed me with SI joint pain told me that my pain in savasana was normal because she said she has it, too...She just recommended a thicker mat for that. I know it's not normal, it felt nearly paralyzing at its worst and was excruciating to sit up from. Plus, I didn't always feel like that from savasana.
Thank you for your videos and sharing your personal story. You are an inspiration to me. It's so sad how many people in assisted living homes have just given up strengthening their bodies, succumbing to wasting away. I currently work in one. It's definitely a wake up call.

I noticed my arthritic right hip was no longer hurting after decades of pain. In fact I could get straight up off the floor without support. I need a strong 💪 for another 40 years. 😅
Right there with ya, but I do love my oatmeal!! Just ditched nightshades 2 weeks ago. Also discovered glucosamine is usually sourced from sea creatures with shells 😢 no more glucosamine and all my joints are feeling better. Hips need work.

I have my naysayers telling me to get surgery, and I expressed my rebuttal years ago, only to be met with condemnation. My friend in her '70s has hip pain. I encourage her to move. She says that she has to rest it and keep it from overuse. That is definitely PFF! I your wish you had articles written out that I could send her because she won't watch videos.
These videos are amazing! I got FAI and labral repair last year after waiting over Covid, thinking it'd solve everything. Well i'm a year on and it didn't fix it but im inspired to keep at these exercises to get back out cycling further and further. Cheers!

After a lifetime as an athlete, covid lockdown was the first time I took a "break" for a few months. The pain and depression spiral hit quickly and hard (and ortho professionals seem almost criminal).
I'm going to be able to run (casually) again.
Your think-move right connection is spot-on - the CNS-musculoskeletal relationship is cooperative, not top-down. When we think about *anything*, our bodies do part of the planning & thinking. Movement is thought - we couldn't even walk if our brain had to control a million motor-units.

Goals: standing for more than 20 minutes without back pain, squat, (eventually full squat, but any squat below knee height would be great) ease in getting up and down from floor, ease in dancing, ease in walking and hiking without hip or back pain. I have hip and back pain for months now so I will like to get back on my feet soon so l will try these exercises because I can't stand up long and I can't sit down long I have problems going in and out of car
I am having fai a couple of years but I was blaming heep arthritis and sciatica. Pain (mostly) left heep coused more pain in my athritic right knee to the point being unstable. All the time I didnt know that FAI was the main problem. Now I know, I am excerice more and I am aware of what is too much for my joints. I dont want surgery and painkillers, so the only answer is - muscles.
What if I have hip pain but no issues with range of motion? I do strength training 3+ days a week and heavily emphasize glute/LPHC exercises when working out (which used to be enough). And, I'm also a personal trainer. Gute (specifically, glute med) training used to keep the aches at bay, but that's no longer working.
Oh, and...I believe I lie on the hypermobile spectrum...if that sways your answer.

60 years old, always working with horses. Running after a horse on uneven ground and hyperextending both legs and twisting really tore up my hips. Like you said, labrum tear w/cyst on right hip. Haven't done mri on left. After resting my body, now I'm worse off and doing PT to get back.
Neither hip feels right. Left feels out of socket. After walking 1 mile on flat ground, both hips have groin pain = labrum tear. Doing 2 miles the other days with some hills involved about killed me. Had friends who did labrum repair surgery. What is wrong with repairing tears? I've had answers saying 50/50 chances of labrum healing.
In addition to continuing PT (tho they are chatty women and useless so I come here!)

Already had a fight with an ortho Dr who said you need a new hip (all he saw was an xray!) I said I think NOT!!! And squatted down to the ground & then stood straight up 100% unassisted. He walked out without a word. There is damage. It's not responding in the groin area. Feels like tears in the glutes too. Still trying but losing hope I'll ever be on my horses again 😢 so depression now on top off it all.
Did one injection, discovered the drs at this practice all lie. Not one even saw my mri cuz they never got a copy! They know they are in a sham business.
Maybe there are times for conservative surgery??

Hello...my right hip is worn out..says ortho dr..who also said he was not going to recommend hip replacement. Range of motion, walking w/limp...at time use walking stick!!! How much moving must u do in a day? I do take care if my home..inside and some gardening! Lots if driving couple times week 40/60 mi. What can I do to NIT LIMP..OR USE WALKING ATICK. I'm on board with every single word you're sharing 🙏 I've been doing your exercises and I'm active, I'm half way to 70. However my hips are keeping me awake at night.
My question is, more and more research is pointing to joint pain as a menopausal lack of estrogen.
So despite all the exercise I'm doing, I don't seem to be getting better. Do you think besides identifying weak glutes as a problem that it's possible lack of estrogen is also part of the problem?
I will take this video to heart and really try to address my muscle weaknesses. I like the idea of focusing on a goal rather than the pain reduction itself.

I had a similar pain. It turned out that I had a bruised bone close to the trochanter.

Yeah my orthopedic doctor told me about a hip replacement. I told him I will never ever ever consider doing that. He got mad😂
Try the ketovore or carnivore diet also. A lot of hip and knee problems are nutrional, and meat is especially good for joint pain, including osteoporosis

My ambitious goals are walking my way (with some diet changes) to 180 pounds weight loss and be able to do a deep Asian squat with out pain. I figure these 2 will mean I am doing a variety of other exercises to strengthen and loosen up a variety of places since I have a connective tissue disorder that means I regularly dislocate things. Since I broke my foot in April, I've been having issues with the bone in the outside of my foot keeps going out of place and putting pressure in my ankle/arch and so forth. So far I am regularly up to walking 20-25 minutes at a time. Hoping to get to 60 before my round of Body Slims starts in September.
"Painful hole" ! Isn't that the truth!!! I know that exercise is the answer because after I completed PT I was pain free for awhile but I slacked off and the pain returned. I need to start again. I want to be able to walk without my leg dropping out of nowhere. I want to ice-skate again without the fear of falling. I had a major fall last year and landed on my head. I passed out immediately and ended up with a head concussion. I want to feel stable again in life.
I have tried acupuncture, orthopedic doctors, chiropractors, physical therapy and exercises and I still have my pain going on 10 years now. I have great flexibility in my hip joints. Not an issue. I was told I have bone spurs three of them but I really don't know what it is or how to get rid of the pain

Doctor said that my right hip has only 1mm of cartilage left (X ray).

Thank you, I’m a Ironman triathlete I had a Hernia op end of 2022, as I started to specifically run I had sharp pain in that area, went back to GP found I had rubbish range of motion and x ray showed bone on bone, I still push myself and try to run but eventually the pain is too much sometimes it’s a nerve pain down past the side of the knee, can’t run downhill. I know I neglect stretching and strengthening

I really miss being able to sit cross legged and I can no longer throw my leg back, up and over my saddle to ride my horses. Also, when seated on my horse, it's painful with my hips in that position, spread apart. I've been doing exercises to keep my muscles strong, but I would like to be able to ride again one day. It's been 1 year since I've been able to. That's my ultimate goal.

I want to learn how to surf , do a deep squat on flat feet , and play tag w my son and cartwheels. I started seeing a chiropractor and have had major relief , but worried my muscles are not getting the attention they deserve. I plan on seeing a PT when I'm towards the end of these chiro visits.

As a 60 year-old landscaper, most of my body feels great. But I have two trigger points in my left TFL that are chronic. I have been to 15 health care practioners and nobody can seem to release those knots. I am going to see if strengthening my glutes helps, but all three of the PTs I've seen have said my problem isn't muscle weakness, it's overuse. It's confounding trying to figure this out to say the least.
I am 69 years old with a hip replacement already and the other hip is giving me severe pain now I want to be able to go at the amusement park from 10 am to 9 PM several times a year; and be able to dance for an hour twice a week

Has anyone heard of Dr. John E Sarno M.D.? He posited that chronic back pain etc is due to psychological causes. It completely changed my view of chronic pain (and life).
