    This process will be similar to all trucks with Cummins ISX engines
    Freightliner Kenworth Volvo international PETERBILT Western Star etc,..
    The difficulty of the job will vary depending on the year, make, model and application of the vehicle.
    Always perform a turbo actuator calibration when you replace the turbo.
    Buy the best quality products you can get in area to avoid warranties and problems.
    Turbo cost from a dealer is $4500.00 +/- (actuator is extra)
    You can get the turbo charger aftermarket but make sure to get from a good place with a good warranty policy.
    Aftermarket turbo cost is around $1800 - $3500 +/-

    Thanks a lot for this Video. How do you know if you have to flush the CAC? And if so, with what/ how do you recommend to flush/clean the oil out from inside the CAC. Will it cause any damage if i clean the areas i can reach and leave some oil in the CAC. Thank You

      the proper way is to remove it and take it to a radiator shop to get it clean up but also can be done by removing the engine side end hose to let the turbo pressure push the oil out and get it capture in a deposit but it will only clean the 60% +/- the rest will be eated by the engine.

    I’m in the middle of a X15 turbo replacement and I found water, not coolant, in the exhaust and turbine side of the turbo. Has anyone ever seen water before at the turbo? I’m stumped

    Francisco quite el turbo actuator para checar lo por q tenía en los códigos el turbo actuator y boost pressure ya lo cheque si da vuelta esta bueno y el turbo también para instalarlo si computadora come se hace ya puse el lever del turbo ha is la derecha a q grado se tiene q poner el punto del actuator para instalarlo

    El mecanico cambio el turbo y el vgt pero sigue sin fuerza cuesta arriba. Necesita calibrarlo en 2007 cummins (volvo)?

      Low turbo pressure, yes. It can cause something like that

    What will happen if you bought a new turbo and put it on but did not calibrate the actuator I unplugged the batteries before I plugged in new Turbo now I'm getting oil in my air to air

    Why not paint the new turbo?? Where are you located?? Between paccar and Cummins which motor and emissions system is more reliable in your opinion and why??

      It is just to burn all the oil in the DPF filter

    Do you use a vacuum tool to replace the coolant or do you just fill it up and bleed the system the radiator or expansion tank cap off?

      Normally, just add the coolant and the air will come out ones the engine is running. Then let it cool off completely ambient temperature and you can add the rest of the coolant needed.

      No, I don't usually work on those but it is the same engine as the Volvo D13.

    my friend i have volvo vnl 2011 with cummins isx 15. Yesterday my truck start to shake in fifth gear no power i pull on the shoulder put in neutral and the whole truck even in neutral was shakin. loaded 45k. i turn around and go back to the shop and before i get there my truck got his power back. i thought bad fuel and i replaced the fuel filter, after replacing the filter i start the truck and gave me code sa 0 spn 641 fmi 7 and fmi 13. No code when it was shaking. Truck now run good but i can tell maybe i little bit when i hit the pedal all the way i have turbo gauge my gauge goes for 4-5 psi more then it was. Truck runs fine? what could be ? turbo ? actuator ? thank you!

      Probably the turbo actuator is starting to fail.

      Francisco Amaya thank you for your reply. Actuator was bad was stuck and also in this case turbocharger was bad was stuck and won’t move more then half

    Turbo nuts need to be torqued at 85ft/lb. Do you think to start using the torque wrench, or that gasket could be blown out soon :)

      Yes, drain the coolant is recommended

    Hi Francisco..
    I got a situation replacing an actuator of a Peterbilt 2017 Cummins 15L, I do all the procedure like need to do, but i got a code error.. Error Code 6, and also have the code 1894 ACTIVE VGT Actuator Driver Circuit - Abnormal Update Rate.
    I do ready check the lines, everything appears good. The actuator I install are new from the dealer, I use the Inside and Jpro software. Any advise you might have??
