      They eat metal - hard metal, soft metal, plastic, those things don’t care. If you’re doing a differential and using silicon, then have at w the cookie cutters. But do any surface like a head or exhaust and you’re gonna have leaks eventually on one of them. You might get lucky but sooner or later the cookie cutter will come back and bite you. I can’t tell you how many heads I’ve seen that had to be redone from those plastic metal grinding disc

    I like the fact that an impact gun was used. You know screw proper torque and all that. Reminds me of the amigos at a tire shop. MFers will nearly strip or snap off your lugs just to save a little time. No pride in the work being done whatsoever.

    • @Man_0f_Culture
      @Man_0f_Culture 27 дней назад

      @MrVAuto well apparently I struck a nerve, lol. I only bring up the impact because I've seen it too many times when they are overly tightened and next time show yourself using a torque wrench. Too many people use an impact and have no idea what they are doing and will see crap like this and think, "The RUclips mechanic did it, so that's okay." I literally had to change a tire for my niece the other week, and the POS that put it on used an impact gun. I ended up bending a four-way breaking the lug nuts loose because they were way over tightened. I work in the automotive manufacturing business, and I know there are specific torques for a ton of bolts, and people who don't know anything will over tighten them because nobody has taught them any better. If you're gonna do mechanic work on RUclips, show the proper way of doing things and put some notes in the description or in the comments if not it's just irresponsible and could cause someone to damage their own vehicles. Until then, you're gonna get a TON of MFers like me talking smack because I know what I'm talking about, and you're cutting that from your videos, and it's misleading AF. Personally, I'm glad you tightened them in the proper sequence I'm also glad you had the impact set to a low torque and you went back and tightened them with a torque wrench but you got a lot of young people and hell even older people that don't know anything about working on vehicles and they'll end up making a major costly mistake if they just follow along with something like this. As a creator who's trying to educate people, you need to do better.

    In my country every body is against changing the fluid as a whole at once on a diff that is paired to a Hemi or a Magnum they advice to add 300ml a time every 2k miles , for some odd reason when you change the fluid the diff takes a shit

  • @user-wj9vl5vg9l
    @user-wj9vl5vg9l Месяц назад

    That’s an incorrect way of filling a differential. After filling, you tilt the car to one side to assure that the axels have sufficient gear oil. Then straighten the car on the lift and procede to check the gear oil level again. I assure you it will need more gear oil. That’s the correct way of checking for the correct amount of differential dear oil.

    Am I crazy ? When I do this I pack the diff with clean rags so all that crap from the polishing wheel stays outa the rear end and do not go crazy with brake clean… I thought it was a bit caustic for the gears and any seals /bushings that might be in there; (I have the rear electronic locker) I guess shade tree mechanics worry a bit more about comebacks. Maybe I’m wrong but if so I got thick skin and let me know. P.S. I was stoked when I did my F-150. The RTV seal was not only perfect after the squish; But the color of the RTV matched the paint on my truck!!! Little OCD, had to also paint the silver aluminum drive shaft black as it stuck out like a sore thumb. Who would have guessed BBQ flat black would blend in perfectly under that 6” lift
