I know this video is two years old but I had the same thought of using the new turbo to blow out the intercooler, glad to have some affirmation. Good video bro!!
Wouldn't have thought to check the screen on the supply line though, it was ok but still don't hurt to check.
You are born to be a teacher/professor

@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 You're welcome, sir.
i really appreciate your video. I have a 2001 International School bus converted to motor home with the DT466E. I know that my turbo has been leaking oil out the exhaust and needs to be replaced. I have a mechanic that works for the school district I drive for, who is supposed to do the work for me. But getting him to do it within a certain time frame is proving difficult. So, I am thinking of doing the work myself. Your video has been very helpful.
Thank you very much. Hopefully my Video will help you. And if so, it was worth my time making it.

Hi thank you for your video that's a same process to change a turbo for international box truck 4300 2017

Thank you!
After a shop overhauled and reinstalled my 2016 Hino 338 (6 cylinders, 8.7L Turbo Diesel equipped with a J08E-VC engine) transmission. After a few days, the transmission started rattling. I looked at it, and the inner yoke attached to the EATON transmission leaked from the four bolts that connected it to the transmission. I had to take it in for them to change the gasket and attach the driveshaft properly via the inner and outer yoke. This is when they tell me oh, by the way, you have a small engine oil leak. It was not small and when I got under and troubleshooted it was not clear where the oil was coming from, although it was present on both sides of the transmission.
When I took my truck to another place to look at it, they claimed that the Oil underneath my engine splattering on both sides of my transmission was due to a faulty turbocharger because they discovered oil splattered in charger air cooler hose. This is all they did to determine I had a bad turbocharger. However, I checked the engine oil level daily, which was always at a proper level. Additionally, the oil pressure was acceptable. I have not experienced any symptoms of a defective turbocharger, such as smoke or loss of power. I also follow your instructions for religiously changing my Oil every 5,000 miles.
I believe that the recent oil leak, similar to the issue with the unsecured yoke, was caused by a mistake made during the transmission overhaul process. I have already cleaned up the oil spill and drove the vehicle for 400 miles last night. A small amount of oil is still visible on one side of the transmission where it is attached to the engine/frame. What do you think? Oh, BTW I still have a faint rattling in my transmission after all this. oh, boy.
How are these turbos controlled to make or hold bost.they have no waste gate
loved the video. I currently need to do the same thing. I am however seeing a wide range of pricing options. International quoted over 4k. I'm seeing parts from about $450-2k. Kind of confusing from a non-mechanic .
That's one of the main reasons for this Channel. The International Shop and our shops labor rates is sky high. If you do not do the work yourself. Hopefully this Channel will help you to understand the process. Thank you.
Question sir:
I have a 2016 Hino 268. I'm not losing power and the truck driving just fine. What does it mean to have oil coming from the orange holes that's connected to the trubo like your video? Do I have to replace the trubo?
It is normal to have a little amount of oil in the hose. Especially if you have over 150,000 mile. Do not touch the Turbo. If you have to much oil in the hose. It will start blowing out white smoke. Your Truck is fine 🙂.
I am losing coolant and I also have oil in my intercooler I have a fault that says engine turbocharger 1 turbine outlet pressure and engine exhaust brake actuator command and my exhaust brake is not working could this be my Turbo gone bad??? I am really confused
Awesome video! Had to pay 500$ for someone to come out and fix me on the side of the road! I didn’t have any tools and I was pretty far out. We’re you using water to clean the feeding tube? Or is that gasoline?
Thank you for your comment! I was using Virgin Solvent.
Have a 2000 Freightliner classic with a Detroit 60 series engine turbo clamp keep breaking just replace the turbo and was breaking before I bought the new turbo what could be causing this pressure clamp to keep breaking truck runs fine
Make sure the Turbo and the Exhaust Pipe are perfectly lined up.
Hola
Tengo 2009 internacional 4300 después de 30 minutos de correr bota humo 💨 blanco
Bajo la velocidad y se le quita
Tiene este código EGDPS
Ya cambié el sensor y sigue humeando
I think my turbo need to be replace I have a 12.7 60 series. That’s putting out only 20 psi of boost and that’s with my foot to the floor. Any help will be appreciated.
Check imp sensor.intake manifold pressure
I think it went because of high rev and leak injector or breather case
You have a point. It is currently going on 700,000 miles.
Would a bad turbo cause the truck to go into limp mode? Or overheating from bad fuel injectors?
It can cause it to go into limp mode. But not overheat. A bad Turbo will make your vehicle lose power. And may blow out blue/white smoke.
My 2004 international does the same thing it will go into limp mode and overheat when I go over 45 miles an hour, what can it be?
@@allensantos3246 that could be a number of things and it is hard to tell without hooking up a scanner. The first thing that I would do is check the cooling system. Look at my videos on the issues with Radiators.
Don’t you have to calibrate it ? Or it doesn’t need it ?
This one do not need it.
Hey did you have to reprogram it as well?
No sir
I have a 03 international 4200 vt365 i followed your video and replaced the turbo but i am still having powerloss also when i put the truck in gear it sounds like i am losing air some where but it was making that noise before i even replaced the turbo and the shop told me it was my turbo going bad could it be something else that you know of
@RELAX RELEASE & BE FREE did your Turbo come with a New Actuator?
Check both of your Turbo Hoses connected to the Charger. A blown hose will make you have low power and you sometime will hear air noise.
Ok thanks for the help very informational video by the way got the turbo replaced in a couple hours
just spent $4000 to rebuild my turbo and went bad 2 moths after mechanic charged me $1000 for labor, very dishonest, I should have bought a brand new one. now I have to take it back to them I don't know if they can fix it, and even if they can fix it, I may get new problems in future.
Your lucky it didn't run away
