    The reality is you can't truly compare yourself to others, because when you do it, you're not actually comparing yourself to others, but you're comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone's highlight reel.

    As a person, who had been bullied for being chubby, it is so unbelievable to hear, that skinny girls had issues about being skinny... I guess people judge everything. Growing up I always thought that life would be easier if I was thin...and now I hear a person, who has the body type I always dreamed about... Talk about how they tried to be thicker.. This is sad.. Nothing is good enough for society, so we must just love ourselves and show it to the world and those haters.

    I definitely agree with separating yourself from things that are pulling you into envy. I used to think this made me weak because I couldn't handle certain things without being jealous but honestly once I started removing things from my life, I started to care about them less as well. Just giving things attention is what made them important in my life and once I no longer gave them time, they stopped mattering as much

    Confession: I used to compare myself to you alot to the point I became jealous of you. I noticed that I always compare myself to people who have similar personality to me. And usually I would envy everyone, it almost felt like they stole something from me, like if it wasn't for their existence I would have got that position. Jealousy makes us feel like those people we envy took our achievement : I should be the one in that position... Ect. Usually I'm good not comparing myself to others but I cannot help it but fall to the mistake of comparing myself to people who have my type of personality and face? (weird I know hhh). But I forced my self to watch you and instead of hating you, I learned to learn from you. I started Journaling because of your video and by writing more and more, I was no longer in denial with my negative emotions. Admetting i'm jealous was hard but few days later when I got the notification of a new upload: I was no longer holding bad thoughts nor comparing myself t you. totally agree, social media can be so toxic for comparison! We actually made a video about it recently and our take is that if we want to be happy this is one of the major habits to drop! We should only be comparing ourselves to ourselves . That's the best way to improve: focus on our path, do our best and block the rest!

  • @MisterPol
    @MisterPol 4 года назад +229

    Everyone has flaws, but few people show them. The problem with comparing yourself to others is that you just pick the "qualities" they show, but omit all other characteristics that make them "them". Start comparing yourself to who you were yesterday, and you'll fall in love with who you are becoming! ❤️

    I think that most of us struggle with comparing ourselves with people online nowadays. Social media can really be a great place to be. You just need to make sure that you are creating a healthy environment for yourself on there. If you keep your room tidy, why wouldn't you do the same with your social accounts? Both your time and your mental health are at risk if you are not mindful about what you get to interact with on there. Your ears are so cute though!
    I once had a childhood friend tell me I had a big nose, so I had been really self-conscious of it ever since. I’ve even considered plastic surgery. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to like it a lot more because that’s what makes me unique 💁🏼‍♀️

    Awesome, Lana, comparing yourself to others can only lead to frustration! BTW, I think you look fantastic! Great video as usual, thanks!

      Doesn't matter where it comes to insecurity. If you're insecure, you're insecure
