Whats really hauntingly unique about the game is the fact that our character is not special, we are treated as a disposable character and after our death, the story of iron lung feels like it will live on without us. Bassically we're just a witness or an NPC in the grand scheme of things.
Just like real life
Seeing this actually makes me not want a sequel to this. It would ruin the feel of, "you're just a side character" of the story.

Sorry for the slow uploads! I'm still not very well and still very very busy. The latter likely won't change any time soon, though I hope the occasional upload is enjoyed.

The SM8 actually lies in the Humming Monolith's original location, it looks to have the same shape as the Iron Lung, And it has it's name written on it's side, it's also torn in half with the second part behind it, also, if you see it when datamining in unity, you can see it's really rusty and it has the same window mechanism as the Iron Lung, it lays at roughly Y:700 and X:800

Iron Lung is possibly the most disturbing media of all time. I've spoken highly of things like The Mandela Catalog, but this game dwarfs it in implications, subtlety, and active fear manipulation

If it’s of any importance, there could be a hint to as what that creature was. In ULTRAKILL (an indie game also published by newblood, who published some of David szymanski’s other games), there is a secret fishing level, where you can catch the monster from Iron lung in a lake of blood. The creature’s title is called “Frog?”
Granted, ULTRAKILL was not made by David szymanski, and the secret levels are shaky evidence at best, so it could just be a funny reference.
you mentioned that you cant see the sm8 ingame, this is false, in the wide open area behind the last objective you can find the wreckage of the sm8

Well when the Lord update happened the humming monolith was moved and replaced by the sm8 and another location in the humming monolith was moved to another
Iron Lung is my favorite game I'll never play. It's pretty much the definition of the scariest things being the ones left to our imagination. Most disturbingly is the question - if our only window is welded shut, why, and perhaps, more importantly, HOW does that happen after we are underblood?
Personally I would love to see what you'd make of games like this, spoopy or not.
Though it does appear that RUclips algorithm thinks of this channel as quite cemented in the Undertale niche, so maybe, if you want to keep branching out, it's time for an Overstudio?
The window isn't welded shut, it's just closed automatically as the sub decends below presumably 50 meters, just so the glass won't cave in because of the pressure
@@Ever_2008_ARG No it's welded shut, that's state in-game. It's the only way for it to have enough structural integrity.

And small correction: It says every star & *habitable planet disappeared.
I wish they'd tell us what sort of human blood it is. That'd tell us a ton about what's happened

I think that the moon is a remembrance of humans, like the last will of humans has been stained in the universe, that’s why the skeletons are all human-like, and how the ocean is human blood

The blood moon was obviously influenced by Solaris, great movie
Now that I think about it in the intro the sea is moving but without wind or other gravitational pulls there has to be something or a lot of somethings moving the blood from inside of the ocean 🥶

I dont get it, isn't it sorta clear that the whole Iron Lung universe is some sort of Lovecraftian/Chutulian horror? I mean, all the stars and planets simultaneously disappeared leaving only a few barren rocks and the moons with the blood oceans.

hey underlab I have a tip for you, make a community post on which Undertale topic you should look over. people want more undertale and if you can't do those then make deltarune vids. there is no chapter 2 theories... yet
I agree! He said in his video "I'm back" that Undertale is a dead topic, but now that he is ignoring that video game his views are decreasing drastically! We miss Undertale :(

Personally I think that the people in space were teleported to another place in space, or possibly even another dimension.
Also I would like to add that at least one of the skeletons in Iron Lung, the one with the skull, is actually a whale, or at least EXTREMELY similar.
The last thing you forgot to mention is that where the monolith or whatever was in the original release was changed in the update, instead there are the remains of the SM8. We know this for sure because the name is printed on the side of the torn-up submarine.

I think some type of very old ancient humans lived on that moon the building’s where there home they had civilization but then something happened maybe a disease they tryed to make a cure didn’t work and then they would become the monsters then they had another problem they turned people into monsters they tryed to reverse the effects and the monster fish was dying do to not have blood water so they had to make a giant fish tank for the monster so they can try to reverse the effects they tryed and tryed didn’t work some madman did something to turn everyone else into monsters 5 people survived one by one they lost there minds until there was one he decided to release all of the blood water into the valley where it flooded also the humans made a portal to other places so they can get there faster some who was sick went in the cold that he had was changed to even worse cold that would kill him in a few minutes but some of the cold was left inside of the portal which made it evolve mutate into something worse and some else would go in and come out worse some did survive which the scientists used their blood to make a cure for the mutated virus a massive group of humans like the government closed it off so people can’t go through the portal some guy did not have time he noticed when the guards went on break and made A run for it he went in saw a small blood ball that rammed into him and went inside of him when he came out this is where lots of people didn’t survive also some other things came out of the portal as well like giant worms that love blood they where parasites also the bloody meatball Micro bits of it would come out of the portal go into the ground and grow until it became the planet
Also The group of people that was like a government they made a prototype portal eventually you know they made the portal that worked in a different way not to other realms or into other dimensions just to transport people to different areas on the planet The prototype though there was a little malfunction where it made all other planets vanish

I see you finally started talking about other games . Don't get me wrong. Undertale was great but there was only so much you could do with it, in terms of theories and discussion.
I don't think they had a over all story in mind. Just a lot of disturbing sounds and images. A very thin story to tie it all together. They want you to imagine what it's all about

What if that eye is the moons eye, what if the moon is actually earth and the reason there’s a blood red ocean is because it’s the ocean, just covered in blood. Just like dye. What if the earth became sentient, that’s why it disappeared. What if the reason the fish that kills you at the end is just an evolution of the earths fish that had to evolve to adapt to the blood ocean
Maybe the reason we see human buildings in the game is cause it was one.
