One thing I never understood about Iron Lung is that, humanity came to a point of development that they could travel in space, colonize mars, have advanced space ships, and the best thing they could come up with was to send a dude in a janky ass, 1970's submarine with an equally as old diving suit for literally one of the most important missions they could have.
A great deal of resources were on the planets and colonies when they disappeared. Remember they only had whatever was left in a few ships and a space station and that was it. Very unlikely they had much else besides the essentials for what a space station hub would need. Also it was revealed they had 3 junk subs and 1 decent quality one. It is stated that the better sub was meant for scientists and *intended to come back* The decent one's debris was found destroyed in the trench in game, alluding to the frog having destroyed it previously. The junk subs were all that was left
**Sees the skeleton of a huge being at the bottom of an ocean of human blood, possibly indicating that there are several living beings down here and that there is one that's bigger than the deceased creature that's an actual threat** *"sheesh."*
The Story itself is frightening, this was a really good fanfilm, it gives you that sense of paranoia and loneliness, and the dread and feeling of there is no salvation, very well done.
Such an awesome take on the story man, and the animation and design are top notch. Every bit of effort in this has paid off. Could totally see you doing cutscenes for Szymanski.
I love this project. The latter half is very strong and the sighs and breathing of the character is excellent for portraying emotion without the face. It is an amazing project, thank you for this one!
I’d ask why there are still stars in the sky at the start (lmao nitpicking) but also, light takes forever to travel, so it could be light of stars that are already dead that simply is still traveling because space is huge.
@DystruktoBoi1 yes they did, our sun is 8 light minutes away from earth, if it dissapeared, it would take 8 minutes for the sun to dissapear from the point it actually vanishes, imagine a star that is a million lightyears away, the star is gone, but for you, it wont be gone for another million years, that is why there are still stars in the sky
This animation is decent, well put together, but I question the use of the diving suit. It doesn't fit the setting very well. Where would they find that antique on a starship/space station? And if it isn't an antique, why would they make a suit like that for a convict?
i think a big thing to consider is that the iron lung itself falls into the same category of "antique" -- it's an outdated shitbox whose only visuals come from low resolution black and white still images precisely _because_ he's a convict. they don't care about getting the sub, suit, or person back -- this is just a drawn out execution and giving him purposely inadequate equipment is exactly what i'd expect from a government who did this routinely. to answer the question of "where would they get something like this", i presume both it and the iron lung were made after the quiet rapture because all actual antiques would have disappeared with earth.
