Super interesting! I enjoy studying and practicing both Buddhism and Western Esotericism, and I would note that regarding Buddhism and unification with god is that what's actually heretical to the eastern mind isn't that mankind has inner potential that God doesn't, but that it's the idea that there is seperation in the first place. "God" that exists outside of "you" is always an illusion both ways. There simply is "THIS". Western Esotericism in the end preaches the same, which is essentially a fractal universe, though most modern western minds understand this dualistically (god and you are both entities.) Dualism is incredibly deeply etched into our minds and language. Funny, there's quite literally an old maxim -- "If you were to meet the Buddha, Kill it. " -- if it's seen as something outside of your fundamental nature, it's just another illusion; be done with it.
i am designing a game that takes a lot of inspiration from this symbol and some of the titles it has inspired (such as majoras mask) - hopefully one day it will be one of these greatest evers you talk about 😖💛
I'm guessing the Sepirothic fruit from dmc 4, is the same type of fruit Urizen eats in dmc 5 to gain power, which grows on the Qlipoth - that feeds on human blood, in order to grow the fruit - I never really gave much thought in the demonic plants of dmc 4, but this is a pretty cool similarity and attention to detail~
As someone who finds Qlipoth based systems try hard edgy nonsense the relative lameness of DMC 5's dungeon compared to DMC 3's is kind of vindicating. Qlipoth means husk or shell its not a fruit in itself but it does fit the story of DMC 5 with V being the cast of shell of Virgil's demonic form. The Bruegal inspired Tower of Babel imagery is just so much more interesting and evocative to me than the generic Capcom demon realm that DMC 5 recycled from the endgame its brother series of sword based RE spin offs Onimusha.
Tales of the Abyss also references the Sefirot a lot. Some towns are even named after some of them; Daath, St. Binah, Grand Chokmah. This is a reminder that TotA could be worth checking out, also possibly worthy of discussion on the channel. In addition, Merkaba Hanzelrusha is an AoE damage dealing skill for the healer class in Flyff, a 2004 KMMORPG. Merkaba is shaped as a cross, which you just made me realize is probably a reference to the four faces.

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong.
Imagine being so much better than everyone else that God's like "Yeah, you've peaked, come with me, I've got a throne for you right next to mine."
That's one interpretation.
The other is that the Serpent is now using his corpse as a puppet to lure the Rock (See P't'r) to their undoing.
Btw, we write out Chariots at the end of a name, like this "-sus" the S being snakes, and U, a container. @@jazzyjswift
Incredibly in depth and I especially admire compiling more related videos in the description. Thanks for this good work!
Would definitely love a part 2!
Also! I would love to hear you make some connections from Honkai Star Rail, When I heard Qlippoth I immediately thought of HSR.
@@Mr.Despair. in HSR idk i think they used the name more cause it sounded cool
The notify sound for text is genius! videos that are good for listening are alway on my monitor to the side, so this is perfect!
You've alerted the Horde, sorry for what happens next
Best channel posting something I've been curious about for a while!
AAAAAAAH
I'm trying my best to not go into a psychotic rant about lobotomy corporation, but please....
Its a very Philosophical game with lots of religious/literature/mythological/cultural themeings that make it a very big game in my mind space
Really appreciate the sound to indicate if there was text on screen with additional information. Loved the video
Even the Elden Ring is similar, both somewhat in form and in function (in universe).
Especially with the Rebis and the shattering. That whole game feels like an occult puzzle.
I think Ultima from FF16 has this symbol as well. I remember seeing it and immediately thinking of Evangelion.
holy shit is this project moon reference!?!?!??
activate project moon protocol
Literally the Elden Ring dlc lore of Miquella, kind of disappointed it wasn't mentioned.
Japan is as obsessed with Judeo-Christian mysticism as the West is with anime.
El mejor video de este canal! Excelente! Estoy impresionado por la profundidad y claridad con la que explicas los temas.
Espero que Google Translate logré dar claridad a mi comentario!
One I really recommend checking out Is Yume Nikki it’s filled with symbolism and dreams and certainly the Unconscious mind
omg I love that you added the sound for on screen text pop ups - your my fav channel on youtube thank you for all the work!!
Have you heard about our lord and savior Kim Ji-hoon from project moon ?
the "beep" on important info on screen is a great addition. Thank you very much, and I'm sure many of us would appreciate it coming back in the future.
part 2 or reported
I'm still in the intro- I just wanted to express how cool it was you thought of the people who just listen! Sometimes I don't even know I've missed something, unless they have a moment of silence for the words on the screen :D Thanks for that
The best part, is how the bling rabbi essentially made the Sephirot up.
But it's okay, he was divinely inspired.
That's how it always goes, amirite? :^)
the same can be said of all religions… but enough talk!
@@chargemannyn2918 Oh, I was not going for THAT atmosphere with my snide comment. There is plenty of actual reality and true history inside most religions, just not this FF7 villain.
great Idea with the sound to redirect your listeners eyes. and thanks for not making the sound annoying.
learned quite a bit from this, always appreciated!
A disembodied voice said leaving a comment would lead to more videos in this series. Being a madman, I always listen to the voices.
The sunlights warmth is ethereal. Dont let yourself be strayed.
Interesting and informative as always.
I only clicked because Dante was in the thumbnail.
Sorry for not having as much on it this time around. I promise, though... I intend to do videos on Devil May Cry sometime in the next few months.
@@maxderrat Yeeeeesssssss. YES!!!!!
@@maxderrat I would recommend playing the games in order of release instead of chronological order. While yes it makes sense in terms of the timeline it doesn't make sense in terms of gameplay. Seeing as gameplay gets better and more innovative in terms of release. Put it this way it's a lot harder for people to appreciate the first Devil May Cry if they just jump into Devil May Cry 3 first because they were going by the order of the timeline instead of the order of release.
Been researching theology and more specifically ; the sefirot so I can implement them in my series. Glad to see this aspect in many of the series I enjoy being discussed!
smh my head kabbalists controlling my games' lore from behind the scenes.
One of the most quality video essay channels that cover video-games and animation on RUclips as of late. Very in depth and well written. That bit about there being a little sound for when text pops up on screen for video listeners got me writing this praise. The sort of media and subject matters covered here just rubs me in the rightest of ways.
4:08 mentioning grigori and dragon's dogma also really gets me going
Project moon community has been summoned rest in peace comment section
I cannot wait for discussion of the Qliphoth!
Where the FUCK is Lobotomy Corporation
Need a part 2, my brother in Alchemy
Damn, you rly need to play Lobotomy Corporation/Library of Ruina cuz it IS technically derived from the Sephirotic Tree
Technically? The entire plot is made out of Kabbalah, even (especially) the Light
Loved how you grouped the referenced.
Thank you
Hi
im currently on a 10year long process of writing a story that would in the lore create and inspire every major religions and myths to this day.
Needless to say this content is real great for sources and i just want more, including anything you have in that proposed 2nd part
I've adored these videos. They've given me so much inspiration for the stories I write. I would love to see more in this series.
