Maybe you meant Gothic? "Medieval" covers a period more than a thousand year and until the last century or two, the paintings look nothing like the art in Fear and Hunger. Even then it's only a passing resemblance, maybe the dull colors? It's unmistakeable that the biggest influence for the artist is Yoshitaka Amano, not medieval art.

@@exu7325you imbecile, I'm almost sure they're referring to the old folkloric aspects that some of the game's aesthetics cover. If you've ever seen the books of forgotten memories in game you'll know what they're talking about.
And about the usage of the term medieval I bet you feel very smart for vomiting this pedantic correction. Everyone fucking knows what OP is referring to in terms of aesthetics: that period in time in europe that lasted around until the 16th century, before things like the printing press or oil paint or studies on linear perspective. Ppl probably don't know what defines the term they're talking about but most people are on the same page on what 'medieval, feels like, that is unless they're an arrogant prick like you.

"The will to remain strong, courageous and moral in the face of relentless suffering." I think this is EXACTLY what Sylvian expects of humans her favorite creation. And we are stuck in a vicious cycle of the old gods offering salvation (to pick us back up so we can try again) then fading away (pushing us out of the nest) and when we inevitably screw up again the cycle repeats because they are good parents. For those like the fellowship who think they figure it out only to fail in the end simply become one with the void - which is why there are so many new gods in the hall just stuck there - they failed the final test. Logic was a step in the right direction.

Definitely make some more Fear and Hunger stuff!
One thing about Enki that wasn't mentioned is that Enki is a reference to Sumerian mythology. Enki was the Sumerian god of water, a companion of Gilgamesh during the Epic, and created humanity in Sumerian mythology. Enki wanted humans to be made out of clay and blood using earth from the body of the goddess Ninhursag-ki and blood from him (or his son Marduk, depending on the legend). He was also known as the "master of all crafts." I found it really fitting in Fear & Hunger that Enki was named as he was.

More F&H videos would be greatly appreciated! Old gods, new gods, ascended ones, alchemy - but really, whatever feels right for you to cover next.

I remember picking this game up because I like dark fantasy stuff, but had to give up cause the game was absolutely unforgiving and hard.

Not enough media has good occult analysis, even if the media itself is full of occult philosophy. Always good to see someone who makes the effort to do this kind of thing.
One series I avoided for a long time but found very good material in was in The Elder Scrolls, especially (but not only) Morrowind. Michael Kirkbride’s work especially (but again not only) was surprisingly in depth and rich in symbolism.

A game that is basically the closest to "Berserk" (in terms of tone, characters, themes, atmosphere and sheer brutality) there is.
