I now learn new songs 10 times faster because of your lesson, was searching tons of videos for pieces of informations here and there but you put it all together just fine, makes it much easier to learn. Keep it up !
I was like that man. My fingers have never had to endure something like that, but after a while it becomes way more relaxed and you’ll be able to pull most of the chords with no problem.
5:40 It was a pain to watch, how you're inventing a solution :) Here is the tip, may be useful: put the barre on the 4th fret by the index finger, put pinkie at 2.7 (string.fret). The middle finger is the only one to be moved, from 5.5 to 1.5 during of playing of the whole block. It is much easier, less movements. In total, it is a great tutorial. Thanks.
Thanks for the tutorial! I'd be great if the chords used were written somewhere in the video so we're not only playing the fret positions, but understanding the chord progression behind it. Thanks!
I started playing guitar when I was in my teens, more than 30 years ago. I had some lessons and really enjoyed it, but it was a struggle. Eventually, life (and girls) got in the way and although I kept playing now and then, I never got my earlier enthusiasm back. Then, about 25 years ago, I was burgled and lost my precious (expensive) Washburn electric and I kind of lost heart altogether. I have a round body electro acoustic, but I tend to play sitting down and keeping it in position to play is impossible. I treated myself to a Squier Strat last year and have started getting back into it, but I'm really looking to get a nice acoustic and really concentrate on that. I've looked at hundreds of lessons on RUclips and not really got a lot out of any of them - a few licks and riffs, but putting them together to build a recognisable song is hard work. I have just, this week, found your lessons and you have totally inspired me, especially the way you do a full play through at the end of the lesson. I've so far watched through about 50 of your lessons, and noted down those I want to concentrate on, but one of my favourite acoustic tracks is missing. Could you possibly take a look at the live, acoustic version of, 'Dream Catch Me', by Newton Faulkner as I reckon it would be a popular choice with your followers. Thanks for the time, effort and patience that you've put into building your channel.
Like I've said it many times before, hands down the best guitar teacher on RUclips 💯💯💥💥💥. I started my guitar journey way back with the "Post Malone - I Fall Apart" tutorial😀
You are the best teacher. Your guitar videos are the best. Request: Lesson for WINDY & WARM by JD Loudermilk, covered by Chet Atkins, Tommy E and Doc Watson and others.
4:47 tbf could just barre chord the 4th fret with index finger and then you don’t have to jump? Maybe a good choice for ppl who have barre chords down 😸
A friend of mine just show me this song on the guitar the other day which I found challenging to play. Then I was hopping you did a tuto on this one and there you are, spot on mate!
Hey Dave, I’ve just discovered your guitar lessons. I saw your Blue Lava review and bought one, very happy! Love this lesson, it’s perfect, thank you so much. I also just learnt Senorita from another one of your video’s today so I can play whilst my young daughter sings :) Keep up the amazing lessons! I have now subbed. Big love from the UK.
Those who have problems with their pinkie finger can do warm up every day to fix it. This helps a lot in strengthening the fingers and speeding them up in playing
8:36 Genuine question: why play A on 6th string if you could just play it on the open 5th string? It would be a *ton* easier for the fingers. I notice a lot of little things like this in this tab, where there is a much easier way to play something that isn't used.
Super choice to show off your new nylon string! Learned Layla thanks to you- huge learning step for me. Looking forward to learning this. Owe so much to you Dave. Thanks!
Excellent lesson. I'll need to train my finger a bit more because they're not cooperating but the instructions are very clear. Thank you!! I have even more respect for the song now that I understand the skill it takes to play this hauntingly beautiful guitar riff.
I mainly learn guitar through your RUclips channel. You make damn good videos, I like your structure (going through all the elements one by one and then the song in its entirety), the tabs, the choir table and your animated fingerboard. Your explanation is detailed and easy to understand with the fretboard and tab's. In my opinion the best channel for learning guitar. Thank's 😇
My pinkie is 💞 *dying* 💞
Litetally HAHAHAHHA
just when I thought there is no worse song for my pinky than under the bridge from RHCP I tried playing this song

Mine as well

Good lord, the chords are no problem but the stretchyness is KILLER!!
Thanks for another brilliant lesson!
