    As everything just gets worse for the motoring industry, what does that mean for us? The NEW 2025 Euro 7 laws, could they ruin motoring businesses? Did the government just change their minds? PLUS these laws could ruin the way you drive.

    Are members of WEF etc going to be stopped from using private jets as part of this????

      Apparently private jets are excluded from any Net Zero plans for aviation in the UK. Says it all really.

    Government do a U turn on the 20mph zones, but doesn't mean the local authorities will alter anything as they'll claim that they don't have the funds to change the signage.

      We still comply with European vehicle regulations and as most cars needing to be sold go to Europe, our farty little island is a small drop compared to the rest of Europe meaning, we just follow suit.

      Not really, we left in name only, we still follow suit and do what the WEF say, we still obey the ECHR..
      THEIR main plan is to get the average Joe off their vehicles.. They will price us out...
      It was never really about emissions..

    Please Rozzers prosecute garages that put annoying, impossible to peel off and naff stickers advertising themselves on cars that they sell!
    Particularly when said stickers are applied to the heated rear window filaments!

      You can very simply ask them to not apply or remove them. I always suggest that if they don't I will be charging them for advertising rights, which I point out is a condition precedent for the sale - simple.

    how are they going to monitor the brake and tyre emissions , are they going to emissions test the brakes and tyres at your service intervals and at mot,s like they do with exhaust emissions , sorry mate i punctured your tyre , i had to stick the emissions probe into it , or are they going to try and collect the paticles as you drive your car with an industrial vacuum fitted to the car to suck emissions up ?????

    Perhaps they will bring back Pneumant tyres. These adorned new MZs back in the day. They were of course East German and they never wore out, so hard was the compound. They were also deadly in the rain and were the first things you changed when you got your new MZ. I was very poor in the 70s and even a third hand Honda Dream was the stuff of er, dreams.

      @@motorsforthemasses I think the East Germans had the tech, just not the rubber.

    How is the amount of residual dust from tyres and brakes going to be assessed? The amount of those will depend solely on how you drive. As a point of correction I have used EBC brake pads specifically because they produce less dust than the others, Ate and Pagid being the worst IMO (Ate and Pagid are both OE suppliers). The use of EBC pads above the Black/Green/Red are not suitable for the road and the Red pads are more than adequate for high powered heavy cars.
    The rule about dogs is entirely sane. Your dog should be securely tethered in the car such that apart from being thrown about the place as you drive, the last thing you want is a dog projectile being flung at you causing injury, never mind what it does to the dog. A driver with a dog with its head out of the window in a moving vehicle ought to be prosecuted because in an accident the dog will come to unnecessary harm, by all means have the window cracked open to allow ventilation but not for the Snoopy/Biggles effect.
    The Highway Code is not just guidance, it contain a large quantity of traffic/driving law that must be obeyed, if the clause says 'MUST' then it is law, if it says 'SHOULD' then it is (strong) guidance. I always wonder how many people read the HC after they pass their test especially since it is constantly being updated.

    I would have liked to have contributed to this very interesting conversation, however, my comments keep getting deleted..
    It has nothing to do with Emissions.
    It has everything to do with
    Greed
    Restriction of movement
    Control.

    Grams per kilometre? 20mph speed limit? If I drive my car at 30mph, I am in 4th gear, and my car's engine is doing 1750rpm. If I drive my car at 20mph, I am in 3rd gear, and my car's engine is doing 1750rpm. Therefore my engine is chucking out the same amount of sh*t, but it takes me half as long again to cover 1 kilometre, so my engine is going to throw out one third more sh*t over that distance.

    20 mph should be a lesson on how not to waste money but somehow if the government was thick enough to implement it in the first place then you can bet there's likely to be other stupid policies they can put in the dustbin as well.

      Far from reducing pollution, in my case it increases the pollution by 50%. At a steady 30mph I have to drive in 4th gear (out of 6) to keep the vehicle engine from lugging and causing damage but at 20mph I have to use 3rd gear for the same engine revs so that I am emitting the same pollution every second. Since it takes me 50% longer to travel the same distance I will be emitting 50% more pollution.

    I thought it rather amusing that yesterday I watched a you tube creator that got pulled for rideing too slow in Wales .I have allways insisted that I reserve the right to ride as slowley as I want and will continue to ride at at 20 MPH on my moped and 15.5 Mph or less on my E-Bike .I am breaking no laws and they can't even decide from day to day what the speed limits actualy are .

    • @clivewilliams3661
      @clivewilliams3661 2 месяца назад

      I watched that video too. The underlying reason for the police stop was to check and inspect the bikes and nothing to do with the speed of the riders, I suspect that it was as much to do with anti-biker mentality that exists in Wales as anything else. The copper was a complete arse but so were the riders who were antagonistic and ignorant. The video was would not have been seen by genuine bikers as anything other than exposing the plonkers that posted it..

    When accused of "too much noise" ask what the legal decibel level is & how many decibels you were emitting - bet they won't be able to answer at least one of the questions.

    • @clivewilliams3661
      @clivewilliams3661 2 месяца назад

      And neither will they have a calibrated noise meter available to have tested it and from the proscribed distance, typically 1m from the exhaust tip. They will have formed a subjective opinion that probably wouldn't stand up in court. In the community, where noise is routinely the subject of complaint, the Environmental Health Officer will take recordable noise checks with a calibrated meter at the point of where the nuisance is experienced, they will also take background noise checks to assess whether the offending noise is excessive. The police rarely have the capacity to do all of that. It is worth noting that low frequency sound is often perceived as louder than high frequency sound of the same pressure levels so that a subjective assessment is unreliable.
