It's one thing to watch a restoration video online. It's another thing completely to get an explanation to why things are done the way they are. Very well done! Looking forward to more (and checking out the old videos)!
it does my heart good to see you taking such care repairing someones special shoes. she wore the heck out of them, you know she loves them. i'm not wealthy, but i have a lot of shoes, some i've had for years. i have a pair of bally's that i bought in '84/85, that i still wear today. when you spend the money that these shoes cost, your shoe repair person becomes your friend, someone you trust to take care of your investment. it's good to see you taking such care to do it properly. it's like watching an artist.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. You are such an inspiration, not only because of your amazing craft and sharing it with others, but because you gave me hope to return to my craft. I was in an accident that nearly severed my dominant hand and after multiple procedures and surgeries it shakes a lot when I have over worked it. The pain is unbearable at times and I start to lose hope, but then God randomly sends me videos like these and I get inspired once again to fight through the pain and pick up my brushes. I was looking for videos “ crafts, hand shaking, hand shakes, working at a crafts through shaky hands” and came upon yours. WOW! and the way you take the time to explain everything literally brought me to tears.GOD BLESS you a thousand fold, you are touching the lives of millions and you have no idea the positive impact you have on total strangers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My husband has very shaky hands from his meds post kidney transplant. He can still paint miniatures beautifully. We all have things we can work around. You are a beautiful craftsman.
You need to stop the coffee replace it with tea take spoon of raw organic coconut oil every day with food try to eat barley bread and take supplement called alpha lipoic acid. This cured my father in law he was warned from the hospital about getting Parkinson's disease but after he took what many people prescribed he is steady as rock . I hope you give this a try it will take a month to just get rid of the coffee addiction then it will take 6 months and the shaking will disappear for good.
Im 18 and have shaky hands and have unfortunately always have all my life. I absolutely hate it. Apparently i have what is considered an "essential tremor". I want to die.
@amyloidse fibrose tacrolimus. plus he has schizophrenia which sometimes messed with his nerves. (might be those meds too) they just legalized rec weed and his tremors have subsided immensely. In our state none of his ailments were enough for med marijuana before. He has gotten so much better since Jan 1st.
Such a joy to see a true craftsman at work, the Louboutins could not have been in better hands. They are clearly loved by their owner and you have done a brilliant job restoring them.
I love watching your channel. I am a 60 year old female and I'm never going to wear Louboutains, Allen Edmonds, or Magnanni's but I still enjoy watching these works of art being restored by your skilled hands.
You have a great tolerance and chill for the inappropriate comments people make on your videos, sorry you get these! Thanks so much for the patience and for taking the time to record your work, it really is a pleasure to watch.
I am sick in bed, never even realized that restoring worn shoes like this was a thing. But then I came across this video and I'm hooked. I always love to watch videos of people working on their crafts. Thanks for making a sick girl feel a bit better!
These videos are addictive. Found this channel yesterday and can't stop watching these videos. I don't know jack about shoe repair and I live in a tiny island in the Caribbean where there's probably three guys doing this sort of work, but this is like Pawn Stars mixed with fly fishing. Please keep posting.
At first I thought what a shame, the shiny sole is prettier! But when I saw the finished shoe I knew you had made the right decision. Thanks for another great little video, and greetings from France.
I'm convinced the shiny sole would have been better. Glossiness, and the shiny red sole (*the* Louboutin trademark) are essential to these shoes. Durability and comfort are secondary. The repair was thorough and thoughtful (as usual), but glossy would have been the way to go i think. Did the customer like the repair though? Did her face light up?
I agree with you totally on the grounds of authenticity. But the customer likes to actually wear her Louboutin's, and will, I am sure, accept the very slight loss of shine and appreciate the very great loss of slipping..
@@teaCupkk Agreed from an aesthetic point of view the shiny soles would of looked much better and much more authentic. But at $200 she'd been better off sending them back to CL repair service or throwing them in the bin. This woman needs to rotate her shoes.
These videos are amazing! They are a lesson in fine leatherwork! I am baffled as to how anyone can do a thumbs down on any of your videos or your outstanding work! Some people can't walk and chew gum at the same time yet you are able to work and explain everything that you do. Many years ago, I restored pipe organs. I did a lot of work with leather on the inside of organs that won't be seen by anyone else for another 100 years. You are lucky that people can see your work now!! It's beautiful!
I don't know how I found you but I thank youtube recommendations. You're an absolute maestro when it comes to shoe repairs. I watch a video every night. Unbelievable.
I love the way you work. As a jeweller who does repairs I respect the way you approach the surfaces that will be -gasp- walked on! As long as it is returned to the customer in a pristine state, you have done your job well. Thanks for your videos. Cheers from the UK. 😀
The cup holder's a hoot! Thanks so much for making these. I knew zero about your craft when I started watching your series, and I learn something interesting with each video.
You do those little extra things because your an artisan and you like doing things right, with creativity, and no short cuts Steve...! It's always a pleasure to watch you work...! Another great video...! Greg
The people who care that your hands shake should watch the incredibly successful surgeons I have seen with a similar degree of shakiness (I am a fourth year medical student). No one's hands are perfectly steady. People whose hands shake and do detailed work learn to work with shaky hands, with usually no problem.
Jay Bee No. You are bullshit! People with shaky hands can learn to cope with it, and do detailed work. Just like the poster said. Your Dad didn’t. That’s his problem. Tough luck.
You are not only a craftsman, but an artist as well! I find myself working along with you and enjoying it tremendously.Thank you for the "out of body" experience!
This is so peaceful to watch as the world 🌎 mourns the loss of a Gr8 guitarist! Thank you for the video and instruction. Man U make it look so easy...yeah right! ...I could never do this!
Nice Collection! You have to try LuxDR RedBottom Rx. It’s formulated to restore the signature Louboutin red soles. It’s a must asset for any growing collection. Love the Channel!
As a Leatherworker I m fascinated at first thinking “oh! I’d never do that!” But I keep watching and find myself enraptured by something new I’ve never considered! Thanks for educating an old man!
Love watching your videos, your attention to detail and your soft spoken voice puts me in the mind of the old Bob Ross videos. A different kind of artist but you're both artist nonetheless. Some of your restorations are epic. I would love to see a customers reaction to one of your major overhauls like this or the Cole-Haan Restoration. Granted the customer would probably have to agree with letting their reaction be posted but if they love the final product I'm sure they would be happy to agree. Personally I would gush platitudes of praise. On the flip side I'm sure some reactions you get would not be worth the time to edit or upload as some people don't appreciate the time, skill or craftsmanship that goes into something like this. Best case you get a ecstatic response that you can add to the end of the video giving it a great wrap (like a movie with a happy ending). Worse case delete the unworthy and wait for a customer that truly understands and appreciates their decision of taking their shoes to Bedo's Leatherworks for restoration.
I love all your videos, but I've watched this one like 4 times for some reason! It's just so satisfying to watch the new sole guard (svig) being formed to the bottom of the shoe! Amazing, beautiful work! You're a true artist and craftsman!
I have always enjoyed watching and learning from your videos. I love how I'm in your world for a time, not a stage or set. Its where you work and that makes a great difference to me. Great work as always. Your impromptu espresso cup ROCKS! Also fascinated with your glue pot. Super texture and story. Thanks as always. Ignore the snide comments. You've got the skills that pay the bills.
I shake all the time....except when doing detail things. My shake is called familial tremor. It's hereditary. There's no medical reason behind it, just the shake.I taught myself tattooing and all sorts of very fine detailed stuff. Today I make jewellery, all by hand and have no problems. My fathers familial tremor worked the opposite of mine. His hands shook only when doing things and not when he held his hand hands out. So you see there are many reasons people have shaky hands but that doesn't always mean you can't do something, and do it well. People always comment on my shaky hands, it is what it is. This man does absolutely wonderful work, so who really cares about how he shakes! 😊
Wow what a great job. It's a real pleasure to watch your craftsmanship. Hope I can find such a great cobbler over here when my luxury shoes need a little (or much) help.... I really adore your work. Chapeau!
A most enjoyable and interesting video. Sir you are a true master of your craft !

I am simply amazed at your skill and patience. There are craftsmen and thier is another level and you sir are superb, if only I lived in your locality I would commission you for all repairs. A true pleasure to watch from a perosn who is a tanner.
👍I recently found your channel. I love it. You’re one of the few to repair and film women’s shoes as well as men’s shoes and other items. You’re skill is amazing. You had me at hello when you worked your magic on the Christian Louboutins that had the escalator damage!!! 🤗💞🤗
Hey Steve, still trying to catch up with all ur videos.😅 man I just love ur instructions N repertoire....u are the best...I miss the smell of a shoe-cobbler store...leather and glue! Mmmmm! Hahahaha. “Let’s continue”
I have always admired and respected people like this gentleman that have the gift of mastery, shaky or not shaky hands, as if that even mattered at all.
I find your videos so satisfying and relaxing to watch. The work and explanation you put in is great. Don’t ever stop making videos regardless what anyone tells you. Keep up the great work! 👍🏽
I had no reason to watch this but glad I did. You are a true craftsman and I love the little leather handle thingy you made for your broken cup. Super cool.
this is such a useful skill, people don't even realize anymore. I had an Italian across the street from me who worked on all my family's shoes, boots and sometimes sneakers. I loved the smell of leather and oil when I came into the shop and he had a cat like Gepetto from Pinocchio. Ah, childhood memories....great video!
I have a great respect for what you do, and you have such patents, God Bless .Not many like you around anymore. Keep up the good work, have fun and be safe!
Very cool. Please keep going with the videos. This sort of leatherwork is completely foreign to me. I'm pleased craftsmen like you are still able to stay in business amid all the mass production in clothing these days.

Quality job and mindset. I always enjoy watching you work your magic, you are the Norm Abram/Mike Holmes of shoe repair. I never realized leather was "worked", hammered, to get desired characteristics.
I really enjoyed watching your channel. I remember when I was young we used to take all our shoes to get repaired and “freshened up” when they were starting to look old or worn out. Now all people do is throw them out. It’s good to know there are still artisans like you out there. Great work! 👍🏼
Thank you sir for doing what you do. A true craftsman. It was interesting to see what really goes into a job like this. I've always had an appreciation for shoe cobblers who can seemingly bring back our favorite shoes from the dead.
I have zero reasons to watch these videos, but I love to watch you work your craft. Full respect!
Same here. I own 2 pairs of sneakers( one with holes, lol) and one pair of work boots, but I'm mesmerized by his talent. He's got some mad skills!
I know, right?

I really enjoyed watching your channel. I remember when I was young we used to take all our shoes to get repaired and “freshened up” when they were starting to look old or worn out. Now all people do is throw them out. It’s good to know there are still artisans like you out there. Great work! 👍🏼
Gorgeous work. Thanks for sharing how you work.
Thank you sir for doing what you do. A true craftsman. It was interesting to see what really goes into a job like this. I've always had an appreciation for shoe cobblers who can seemingly bring back our favorite shoes from the dead.
Andrea Walker aww your very kind thank you 🙏
Amazing. Your videos so inspiring.
Great job! Its interesting to see how the bottom could be fixed
