I know these are expensive shoes, But at what point it's just not worth re-doing? This guy is an artist, Right when I think all is lost, Steve does his magic, and bam! Absolutely Unbelievable the work Steve does. I thought these shoes were a lost cause. Amazing skill and craftsmanship.
*It was worth repairing since at the end they look absolutely amazing! The price includes his expertise, years of experience, and the material costs too! The money the business earns, also helps with repairing/maintenance of those expensive machines he uses as well (like the one that sews the sole onto the shoe). Steve has great attention to detail and so much passion with what he does! The shoes look incredible compared to how they looked in the beginning of the video! I'm sure the customer was so happy with the results!*
I would like to thank you, once again, for having closed captions for us deaf and hearing impaired people. I so enjoy your videos and you are such an expert at your trade and to listen to your warped sense of humor, which simply adds to the fun, is an extra treat! Thank you again Sir Steve!
Lmfao at 33:40 I thought you were using your beard at first to sand down the Ferragamo emblem 🤣 I think it’s because I was just admiring a couple minutes before when you changed your blade how full and well groomed your beard is.
These shoes looked like they were ready to be thrown away. You performed a miracle of sorts bringing these loafers back to life. Great video and loved the triggering moment of the blade change, don’t forget to sharpen this one! :)
Great video Steve- I love your channel Thank you for going back to long-form video format. It was nice to see a 35+ minute video from you again. The long videos are my favorite, because I love how you do deep dives into showing us every aspect. That’s what I think makes your channel special. There are plenty of other channels that do abbreviated content without details. Don’t be like them, please. Keep the long-form content style please :). Thanks!
Peace Steve - long time subscriber, first ever comment. 1st - I'd like to thank you for such wonderful content and commitment to excellence. Not many would have bothered to re-glue that sole, let alone show us that something went wrong. It's your humility and dedication to authenticity that propels you sir - I salute you. 2nd, I'm not a rich man, but I'm willing to pay for quality & craftsmanship - and you sir are a Master of your craft indeed. I'll be emailing you shortly with a project I'm hoping you'll take on. Blessings and favor over you and your family. 🙏🏽
Hello Steve... I have watched and enjoyed your videos for several years. You are a Master of your craft. This note is to correct something I've heard you say hundreds of times. I do it out of respect for your openness to correction. It is an idiom you don't get quite right... "TO EACH...HIS OWN". You say something like "to each is to own" or a variant thereof. It is saying, "Give each person the privilege of holding on to what he or she holds dear." I hope you don't object to this correction, Steve. I truly admire your work! ...Barry
During high school vocational welding class… we had a break in between classes of three hours long…… and our welding teacher would scream out coffee time, as if we were on a job site… as soon as I saw your small part I screamed coffee time!!!!! as always I love your work!!!! Not sure if you remember me but my father was a cobbler for 35 years… you very much remind me of him good times!!!!
Wow, you really brought those shoes back from the grave! Sorry for your loss of that metal blade. Some things just can't last forever even though we try. It gave as long as it could. It fought the good fight. Maybe it'll go on to become a new blade one day. We can only hope. 😇
Outstanding once again! You could teach the lads at John Lobb a thing or two for sure. I sure wish you were in Canada, I would love to have one of my 3 pairs re soled by you, maybe not so extreme but JR sole and combo heels and triumph toe plates for sure!
Amazing!!!!!!!!! At first I thought why didn't the client want the 1757 vibram. Then seeing the end and was like that's why lol. Thanks for the video Steve.
I admire the wonderful job you do, since week ago I came cross your channel I have watched several of year video and enjoyed it. I heard your story about your dad, first of all god bless his soul, he lives in your heart and looking down on you with smiles. Good luck 🍀 all ways!
You changing that blade in the most dramatic way made me chuckle 😆 Your attention to detail is always amazing but I appreciate the little extra things yo add just for fun, a lot
Bedo, I never get tired of watching your videos. You take an old shoe, boot, and make it look beautiful. No doubt in my mind, I will bye your bespoke shoes and boots. Stay in business. Come to Venice, Florida.
Well now....you taught be a lesson! Seeing what you started with, I couldn't understand why the owner would want to have them redone. Well....now I see why! Great job! Thanks for sharing and you even entertained us with a little La Vie en Rose! Do you take song requests?? 😂
Steve I think this has to be one of the best overhaul of a shoe I've seen besides my pair of course. No seriously sometimes I find myself saying why the hell doesn't the customer just buy a new pair then I remember hold on its Steve we're talking about and he can restore and rebuild better than new and better than the original. That was truly a very enjoyable video. And its about goddam time you change the blade.good job it wasn't hard right. And you've done something with the lighting it looked like you was outside doing that job....GREAT JOB BROTHER.
You earned every cent on these shoes! I am surprised they were not more expensive to fix. I am not a fan of suede shoes. They always look great until you walk in them or breathe on them.
Is it even possible to insole stitch shoes with hand tools only? I know outsole stitching is perfectly doable just takes a long time. Very interesting with the cutting of the lugs to make room for stitches I haven't seen that done before. Makes perfect sense though.
I think it's called sewing in the ditch the way they sewed the second line of binding. Usually when sewing bias binding in clothes, we sew it like the french binding you demonstrated, turn it over and to hide the machine stitching, we stitch in the ditch to hold the back down. However, if we don't mind the visible stitching, we only sew on top (top stitch) close to the edge and only have one line of stitching to hold both sides of the binding. So yes, it's curious why they choose to use a visible topstitch and not stitch the inside while they're at it. perhaps its two lines of stitches in order to minimise stretching. Not sure but that's the only thing I can think of.
10 min in and the only thing you had was trash. Buy the end a entirely different story. Amazing how your able to put them back together better then when they where bought. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Well Steve, when I saw thw condition those shoes were in I really thought that they were unrepairable, but hey, you've done it again my friend. Good job.
I count 6 videos in the last 4 weeks. Your fine and interesting work makes you a victim of your own popularity. I and your devoted following crave your content so much that is seems like you don't upload as much as you used to. Keep up the good work. We know you are busy and just can't get enough of your videos.
This, to me, seems like the show you “brought back” more than any I’ve seen. I’ve never said “why waste money and time repairing this shoe,” until this one. Boy didn’t it turn out fantastic!!
Great job, but I have to ask you....how much would a brand new pair of those shoes cost? Would it have been better if he bought a new pair ? I will say...they look brand new after you worked your magic!!!
Wow Steve...you could have just replaced the uppers while you were at it!! (Actually, that's what I would have been tempted to do.) But, again you prove how you can perform minor miracles with leather. Thanks for sharing good sir. Most appreciated. Cheers from Texas!

That’s what I thought. Looked up the price for new ones a they go for $800 bucks. Definitely not worth repairing.

I really felt the earth move when you changed that blade……….the whole sky here in the uk 🇬🇧 moved as every one breathed in….👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
June 30th, got it marked as an anniversary in my calendar! 🤣

I may not live long enough to see another blade change, so I’m glad I got to witness this one!🐝🤗❤️

Genuinely love that you keep the honesty of projects in your videos, you could've easily edited the gluing mishap out 👍👍. A true professional 👏
Woooww!!! Amazing reveal 😱🙌👏👏👏
Also it was oddly satisfying to see you change the blade lol 😂

My favorite time? HAMMER TIME!! A little entertainment from such a skilled craftsman!
That selastic stuff is like kydex that we use when making holsters and knife sheaths ect.
I can't believe that there's many people in the world that can complete this job and do it as great as Steve.
Amazing!!!!!!!!! At first I thought why didn't the client want the 1757 vibram. Then seeing the end and was like that's why lol.

Boy, the customer is all set to do a soft shoe dance Steve! Great transformation.
Ah the blade change man, the blade change. I watch from Jamaica 🇯🇲. Love your videos
I recognize the song you whistled, La Vie En Rose. You seem to like the older classics. 👍🏻
You Sir, have the patience of a whole load of Saints. Brilliant.
Love that line Steve O , Doesn't look like a shoe no more , but it will when I get done with It .
Glad to see coffee time return!
You amaze me every time. Steve changing a blade, history is made and I got to see it.

These shoes probably didn't look this good when they were new. Another really great job !!

Wonderful job! Back from the dead!
Quite a transformation there in those old kicks. They were definitely hammered.
Ohhhh love watching quality shoes get a new life, a good soothing nighttime ritual. You have such a calm and positive outlook on life.

Steve changed that blade and my whole life changed. Suddenly the birds started chirping louder and the sun was brighter 🤣
i’ve never been as impressed as this by your work.

I loooooooove your laugh. And you Crack me up with your silly jokes. I laugh out loud. The worst the joke is the funnier it is to me. 😄💜
Love watching you especially when you use various sewing machines. (Although I’m jealous at the same time!)
Nice job, pleasure to see.

Fabulous! I didn't think that was even possible.
This was a very good repair/remake! Loved that whistle 'la vie en rose' tune ;-))
Great shot of the cleaning of the buckle!
That's an amazing job you did there almost all by hand 🙏❤
You truly are a miracle worker. I would never have thought those could be saved. You did a fabulous job.
I would have thrown these out a long time ago. Amazing work.
Another fabulous video showing your masterful artistry of shoe repair!!! The construction you did is now better than they were brand new.
The close up shots are awesome!
Fantastic revival, as usual!
Awesome work, most of us would have called those a lost case
Wow! You killed that job. Nice!
Another pair of well worn shoes brought back to life by the master himself. Top job. 👌 🔨👍
Awesome. I live close to Guelph and will check this guy out…and as usual, you did an amazing job.
complimenti per il restauro delle Ferragamo. Sei veramente un grande calzolaio.....un artista

Thank you Steve for another great video. You are very skilled I must say. Pretty cool to see this process today. As always much love and God bless.
Wow, great repair.
Hi from Sweden, nice to see when pros working. The repair costed 700,but what price if you buy them new??💙💛
Great job, but I have to ask you....how much would a brand new pair of those shoes cost? Would it have been better if he bought a new pair ? I will say...they look brand new after you worked your magic!!!
Man, that's some magnificent shoemanship, and please keep producing quality work that will bring joy and happiness to the feet.
Wow Steve...you could have just replaced the uppers while you were at it!! (Actually, that's what I would have been tempted to do.) But, again you prove how you can perform minor miracles with leather. Thanks for sharing good sir. Most appreciated. Cheers from Texas!
As Always you do an outstanding Job, You da Man!!!!!!
Wow!!!! Steve you are a master craftsmen.
Hi Steve, you mentioned once that we can make the gemming at home, please let us know how. Thanks
That fine sounds of the hammer is money great job hammer time is the best channel on RUclips
Flipping heck Steve - amazing .... just like new too and only 700 dollars.
Hi Steve, I love your videos they are awesome.
Very nice looking repair. On the subject of dying suede, I find that dip dying works the best.
I don't even want to think how much those shoes would have cost when they were new if they had been made to the level of quality as you remade them.
Great work Steve
Great classic video, beautiful job.
This was one project I doubted was worth doing, but once again the Master resurrects shoes from the dead!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY STEVE ! 👍❤
I have only one word to say - Magician! Stay healthy! 🇦🇲
Amazing work I’ve got a pair of Hugo Boss that need a bit of love like that. 👍🏻
That’s a work of art, thought this shoe would’ve been a goner
Love your channel...😎
Those are some pretty fancy workboots. Seriously though. is that sole typical for that type of shoe? Or is it a customer request?
IT'S VERY SIMILAR TO THE ORIGINAL SOLE
We witnessed history! That was cool to see, Steve!
