You are not simply a cobbler, you are an artist in every sense of the word. I hope you are able to pass your talent and passion on to someone else so it is not lost when you retire.
Steve your happiness and passion for your craft is evident in every single one of your videos. I never get tired of watching you work your magic and this pair of Florsheims is incredible. Nice work my friend.
I'll watch a number of your videos and think, "It can't get any better that this", but then you step up and knock another out of the ball park. Absolutely beautiful, Steve!
Steve I just wanted to let you know that I love your videos. I am actually a plumber and watching your videos relaxes me. I wish I had the passion for plumbing like you have for shoes. I too love the blue ones I think they’re so cool. Thank you Steve
First, Happy Birthday to Chris, may the man above grant him another 28 years. Steve beautiful work, all the little tricks make me think you done once or twice, LOL.
Hello Steve 🙋🏽. It's good to see you today ‼️ I hope everything has been good for you and your Family. I miss watching you do your magic ✨👍🏽💯❤️. Happy birthday to you Chris 🎂🎁🎈❤️❤️💯 WOW Steve now I want some blue shoe's ‼️👍🏽❤️
Again, running commentary: sewing the gemming to the footbed is, based on previous videos, an addition that adds a level of quality and longevity to the footbed and gemming. Kudos
@39:23 - That scotch grain is so beautiful. I love wearing shoes that look like that in the colder months. It is like having a "hot chocolate" on your feet.
Moms would pack up three years worth of snacks for a four hour trip (TN to MS). It was funny because when we made it to our destination, family would have lunch/dinner ready, 🤣🤣. Never an empty stomach to be had, but that was some of the best times as a kid. #thoseblueshoesWOW #surprisedthatiwasnt1000lbs #greatmemories
Good? They came out fantastic, fit for a king. Skeptical at first about the blue, but in the end, the finished product blew me away. In my next life, I want to come back as your apprentice!
"Ruin a pair of shoes"...you can make suggestions to a customer but at the end of the day if it is within your ability, you give the customer what they want. Steve you do great work!
Love your humor Steve! You do an amazing job of filming and explaining everything you’re doing. And like you tell your viewers, it’s not your shoe. So they just need to chill out and enjoy watching a master at his craft!
Greetings from Sierra Vista Arizona everyone! Steve, my dad wore Florsheim "wingtips." I remember what I believe was a pair that were like burgundy in color, like a dark wine or something. Anyway I'm just starting your video. Almost 11:00 PM but I'll make a cup of Keurig coffee!
i haven't seen a pair of these in ages. it's all i used to wear at work (full leather heels back then) and made in Chicago if i recall. had a pair of the cordovans which i was told were horsehide. never had to break them in. they were the best (of what i could afford 😂)
"Hey man, you should've used a ultramarine: cobalt: topaz mix!" Blue came out amazing. Stitched down gemming for extra security - nice! I've been streaming from my jewellery bench these few months now. It's helped a lot. Great work sir. Enjoy your family time.
Incredible transformation… your craftsmanship is second to none… truly. I noticed that you stitched the gemming as an additional means to secure it. Nicely done.
Hey man! Those road trip days aren't gone! My son and I did a road trip around the Olympic Penninsula, no phones, stopping for rest, food, cigar lounges... we are planning WA to Falls Church to move soon, too!
The blue pair is one of the most beautiful pair I've ever seen!!! Too purty to even wear! Amazing artistry Steve, so true about not doing something you don't have a passion for. If every worker had joy in their work it would be contagious and the world would be better. Keep up the great work, would go anywhere else when it's time for resoles, thank you for what you do, you got me through COVID with these vids
Steve I love your videos, your persona and aura comes through the screen and speakers, your workmanship is beyond this reality. You make the best shoe repair videos on RUclips, the POV is as though I'm in your shop. Keep doing what you do, your videos make happy, I learn so much from your trade. More Blessings to you, love from South Africa.
Steve: the way you cleared the ridge for the stitching around the toe plate showed how classy a craftsman you are :-) Always appreciate your videos - they are a repository of 'how to' for shoe repair. Tony
Oh my goodness they’re SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Those blue ones really are just stunning. The details you add are just pure expert craftsmanship and you really can tell how much you enjoy what you do. I wish there were women’s shoes like these and not horrible heels that kill our feet and squish our toes.
Awesome as always, I love your remark "if you don't have a passion for what you doing you shouldn't be doing it"... Also I think it would look really cool to make that idea you had about a two tone Florsheim. Wonder if getting two different shoes and mixing them or just dying them two colors would be better I know dying seems easier but I'll leave those decision to the owner of the shoe... lol
Wow ! Those blue Florsheim came out better than the originals I'm sure the people at Florsheim would be proud to have them in their collection for sale. They truly were classy and wouldn't go amiss in a shop window as decor for people to admire. Great work Steve especially the passion, stitching and welt.
As I wear my AEs and find myself almost ready to have two pairs re-done, I'm contemplating having them done with a mid-sole like those. I fill my 15Ds to the point they don't really look that big. The single layer soles from the factory just get too unsubstantial beneath me. I'm so used to wearing an oxford now, sneakers hurt my feet. All that to say that I appreciate the sturdiness of those shoes more and more. Very well done in rebuilding them.

Jesus, the blue shoes are gorgeous. Another phenomenal job.
You are not simply a cobbler, you are an artist in every sense of the word. I hope you are able to pass your talent and passion on to someone else so it is not lost when you retire.
Running commentary… the coffee time and the memories of road trips… that stuff is priceless

Again, running commentary: sewing the gemming to the footbed is, based on previous videos, an addition that adds a level of quality and longevity to the footbed and gemming. Kudos
Happy birthday Chris! Yaaay for coffee time!
@39:23 - That scotch grain is so beautiful. I love wearing shoes that look like that in the colder months. It is like having a "hot chocolate" on your feet.

The blue shoe welt join was perfection, even by your high standards. 👍
Nice job, Steve. I wish I had a mini shop. I'd make a couple pair of shoes and a couple purses.
Absolutely beautiful. I feel like travelling all the way from South Africa to buy a pair of shoes! What a joy to watch.
