Here's mine (best to worst) 1) Heavy cannon PB - quick switching and its base fire for ez gks on fodder 2) Rocket launcher lock-on - been abusing sylar's double lock-on since i learned it. Superheavy delete button with PB 3) Ssg - insane close range damage (shines in combat encounters in tight spaces) but i use it mostly for getting airborne and to re-position 4) Ballista d-blade - for long range sniping, deleting meatballs, and movement. Also 1 d-blade charge deletes a carcass 5) Combat shotgun SB - for cacos and clusters of fodder. PB SB for the marauder just to deal damage when he is in a defensive stance + his annoying dog 6) Chaingun shield - saved my ass many times before. Not that useful now 7) Plasma rifle - spirits duhh
In my opinion I think the ballista is the best for its well rounded use cases. It’s effective against any demon and good for taking out weak points. You can even use the destroyer blade to instantly take out enemies who use shields.
Hearing the chain gun is a boring weapon is the most blasphemous thing I’ve ever heard, clearly my man here hasn’t mastered the mobile turret and absolutely melted mancubus via 12 barrels
The only part I take issue with is the chain gun, it gets no love. It has recently become my favorite go to when I need to dispense heavies quickly, the shield mod disarms any threat with constant fire and ramming. I would definitely have put the plasma rifle last. I mainly use the P.R. as a quick choice for shields and crowd control on Fodder. I like to use the S.S.G. and chain gun together, use the meat hook along with a double barrel blast close and personal with an immediate switch to chain gun with shield mod its guaranteed Boss shit everytime... don't forget to squeeze a blood punch in. I've found the barrel split mod for the chain gun is good for heavies at a distance either to destroy them or soften them up a bit before a finish.
I just noticed when you have the chaingun mastery there is actually an indicator on the crosshair showing at which point the shield can be released, amazing :)
mine would be this: 1-super shotgun, always been my main, great damage, satisfying af, good for getting out of tight situations, good for combos, closes the gap between enemies and gets you more movement 2-rocket launcher, great range, satisfying and both mods are great to use and great for combos 3-ballista, great for combos, mods are very useful and have multiple uses and the range even on base first is great for taking out turrets 4-chaingun, shield is great for protection and bigger enemies, paired with a grenade the shield charges up very quick, great for fauder enemies to 5-plasma rifle, its great with the microwave beam for checking health and to stun enemies, base fires good for fauder and even for revenants and heat blast fully charges is my go to way to get rid of manchubuses arms 6-heavy canon, great for sniping, base fire good for fauder, micro missiles great for mancubuses and revenants 7-shotgun, the mods are great but i just rarely use the gun because instead of the sticky bombs i use remote detonate for when i flame enemies and the rotator is very good but only as a finishing weapon this is just my pick, i love all the guns and i wouldnt want any of them gone but this is just my preference

My weapon ranking goes like this: 1. SSG - Meathook is easily the most versatile tool in the game and used in quickswitch combos 2. Heavy Cannon - The PB is used in 90% of the highest DPS combos in the game 3. Ballista - It can break weakpoints, used in quickswitch combos and both mods have lots of versatility 4. Rocket Launcher - It is used in the highest DPS combo in the game and lock on does lots of raw damage to super heavies and spirits 5. Chaingun - The energy shield is easily the most OP tool in the game behind the Sentinel Hammer 6. Plasma Rifle - base fire can stagger fodder easily and tools have lots of versatility 7. Combat Shotgun - only good thing about it is the sticky bombs and maybe the full auto

I'd swap the SSG with the Rocket Launcher. The flaming meathook basically gives free armor shards and could be the difference between seeing the game over screen and living.
Great vid. My number 1 would definitely be the SSG, simply because without it the ability to traverse around would not be possible, potentially negating the ability to put yourself in situations to make the most of other weapons and equipment.
My list 1. Rocket Launcher(Remote Detonation)- great for faltering and add clear 2. Ballista(Arbalest)- quickswapping with SSG ans Rocket along with big meatball damage 3. Super Shotgun- movement and quick swapping with the Ballista and Rocket Launcher 4. Combat Shotgun(Sticky Bomb)- for weakpoints and quickswapping 5. Heavy Cannon(Micro Missiles)- good overall damage and crowd control and the Micro Missiles are still good for quickswapping with the Rocket Launcher or Sticky Bombs 6. Chaingun(Mobile Turret)- decent damage to big enemies and stuns Hell Knights, Dread Knights, and Barons 7. Plasma Rifle(Heat Blast for base game, Microwave Beam for DLC)- good shields and spirits
My list from best to worst (single usage, no combos). 1) SSG - can you imagine Doom without it? I can't and the hook is great. 2) Combat shotgun - most practical weapon with sticky bomb mod before you have SSG, after that rank 5) 3) Rocket launcher - when SSG is empty, triple missile with lock and handy for shields 4) Plasma rifle - just necessary for spirits 5) Heavy cannon - sniper is needed quite often 6) Chaingun - occasionally useful, not necessary at all although shield is powerful 7) Ballista - just feels slow to me, never really had much use for this weapon
I agree, but i'd probably change the ballista with the plasma rifle, especially beacuse I think ballista is extremely powerful and kind of versatile (so I'd probably put heavy cannon up and put this one down). But yeah, I really like this list, a bit more than the video
I was honestly expecting this list to list each weapon twice, once for each mod, (except super shotgun) but I’m not disappointed. I personally am having a hard time getting the hang of the microwave beam. Something I would have included would be the recoil from the ballista which you can use to back up from a mancubus or something big that gets in your face.
I'll just say this, I understand your opinion, but try playing just SSG and you'll become an overlord at resource management, plus the fact that it has the highest damage per shot and highest damage per second out of all weapons. SSG easily takes 1st spot for me because I can speed run ultra nightmare just with SSG and the rest is chainsaw and other utility in my kit. the grenade launcher you have on your shoulder does more damage than both Arbalest and sticky bomb, and throws smaller grenades along, so clearing out entire hordes is a piece of cake with these. explosive barrels or items grant you ammo if you are the one who impacts its explosion, so make great use of it. chainsaw....everyone knows its use if situations get dire, the crucible or Sentinel hammer can save you. Flame Belch is also affected by SSG the most so make use of it as well in Short, SSG makes up for its inversatility with being able to interact with quite literally everything unless the enemy is a stone imp or blood maykr (blood maykrs theoretically can be killed by SSG but it's easier to do with precision bolt HC or Ballista) Ice grenade also helps for easing aim and increased damage against iced enemies. and last but not least, GLORY KILLS and BLOOD PUNCH, they are far more useful than players give them credit, most pro players play the run away while quick swapping strat, but the Blood punch and glory kills allow for more aggressive attacks as they falter big demons and insta kill any fodder in your range while staggering those slightly further away, aka MORE GLORY KILLS AND MORE BLOOD PUNCHES. in other words, your utility is stronger than every gun in Doom Slayer's arsenal except the SSG as the SSG interacts with them perfectly. this is only my opinion

an interesting interaction I found is that all equipment can be used during microwave beam. since many enemies recover quickly making falter setups hard this is a great way to safely deal massive amounts of damage (plus you basically have an hp bar of the enemy while doing it
I'm replaying Doom Eternal right now, and I agree with many of the comments here. Each weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses and they all help the gunplay feel more interactive by keeping you on your toes and using the right weapon against the right demons
The rest of your opinions are fine, but how on earth are you gonna put the chain gun and combat shotgun below the plasma rifle, the microwave beam is the only reason I’ve ever used it and the whole, set up glory kill thing, you should just use the heavy cannon. Not to mention the horrendously low damage output , it just takes way to long to kill anything that isn’t a fodder or a revenant

well clearly the SSG is the best weapon in the entire game actually the entire franchise just look at it its a beautiful weapon and powerful as hell and I want a real one my name isn't SSG Division for no reason the super shotgun is so amazing that it deserved to be a part of the name of someone who loves it
In the OG Doom games the sound design for this weapon was abhorrent. Unplayable without mods. And in terms of firepower - nothing compares to the OG Plasmagun. That was a real weapon of destruction. Having that said, this equation has changed with the later games.
I personally use the Sticky nades on the shotgun for specific weakpoints on deamons with them and the arbalist for groups of enemies to falter then. So both have they're uses.
Oh, some wise guy here thinks that some weapons are better than others, eh? In all actuality, it's really hard to rank weapons based on how good they are since they are so well made and all have unique uses for them that make them all really good. Heavy Cannon is good for weapon switching combos with the PB, but also has surprisingly good damage with micro missiles. Combat Shotgun may get outclassed early on, the sticky bombs early game help is amazing along with full auto being good for decent damage AND ammo preservation. Plasma Rifle may be my least favorite, but it shines in stopping demons. With heat blast being a hard falter and destroying weak points at full blast and microwave beam stopping any demon for a few seconds if you need to stop a major threat, it does have uses. Rocket Launcher is great for damage. Lock on is straight up DPS and is the highest DPS mod in the game, bar none. However remote dentonation is great for taking care of groups of demons and it's soft falter mechanic can really help against heavies and super heavies. Chain Gun is great for two very opposite things. The mobile turret has stupidly good DPS and is great for combing with faultering demons with frag grenades or ice grenades. However, the shield is great if you need time to breath or want to be on the defensive for a few seconds. Ballista is the only base weapon to have hitscan, PB being the only other gun to be hitscan. Most people use ballista in combos for straight damage, but the mods offer great utility as well. Arbalest is great for sniping flying demons or small packs of demons while the destroyer blade is just straight up dps, offering great utility when demons are grouping up together. And then, of course, the super shot gun. I feel naked without it. Meathook for mobility and for armor, great DPS and is used in so many combos as well. How can you not love the flagship gun of this game. Seriously, not a gun I don't like. All of them are great, have their uses, and really do shine in their own moments.
@@paperclip6377you can use it instead if using the super Shotgun on low powered ennemis and still one shots them. Also when u use it it does one shot before it explodes so It can give u a glory kill state before it blows up and if you use the glory kill,the explosion still occures which makes the weapon very useful when there is a lot of ennemies

The chaingun and its shield are vital for UN master levels and anything UN in general.Every weapon in Eternal is necessary.The devs are on another level.
I dont do big combos of weapons, i normally do only combos of 2 weapons or 3 at last, so i usually use the super shotgun and then change to the balista, almost everything dies in a sec, if there is a baron or an arch demon i just go ball and use the rocket launcher volley
I don't agree, but the beauty of this game is that all of the weapons are good and viable throughout the whole game. My number 1 is the Super Shotgun for its movement tech and damage output. Number 2 is the Plasma Rifle. I love the heat blast mod on it. After that I'm not sure but I would also put the Chaingun last. It's definitely the least interesting. But like I said, all weapons in this game are good.
Personally, I would've put the Chaingun much higher and the Heavy Cannon quite a bit lower. (I'm talking from the perspective of a base game player on console) Yes, Precision Bolt is amazing for weak points and Makyr Drones (and Khan Makyr if you combo with Ballista), but Micro Missiles feels like a lesser version of Mobile Turret, which is a great tool for taking out the bigger demons (mainly Tyrants, it softens them up for the Rocket Launcher nicely), also the Shield is a literal lifesaver. Please remember that I'm on console so combos are a bit slower, so mods like Mobile Turret still have a lot of uses.
From what i can tell most of these ranking videos (except a select few) just rate the gun based on the pure dmg and dps and never thought of things like quick switching or other techs (like the pb punch pb tech)
I mostly agree except I would put the SSG at the top as even if the meat hook is its only mod, it gives you the oportunity to evolve through an another dimension in combat : Verticality. And from my experience (and the experrience of Obi Wan) if you have the high ground, you have the advantage
fun list.. I have to say the SSG takes the cake for me if only for it's mobility and armor regen. If you took one thing from my arsenal that would make this game 20 times harder it would have to be the SSG. To be fair the Sniper shot is super strong but if you took it from me there are other less optimized combos that would still put the hurt down. If you took away my ability to fly across the map running from the ghosted hell knight who wants to put me down for good I think I'd struggle a lot more. Cheers fun video!

Weapon tier list (Worst to best) Combat shotgun - Damage is shit, full auto is shit, stickies are overshadowed by good ol HAR and Ballista in terms of hitting weak spots Plasma rifle - Only good for shields. The microwave beam can also help get a pressure demon off you, and heat blast is good for weak spots and stunlocks BFG - A lifesaver, but ammo is scarce and only appears in the late game Heavy Cannon - Damage is good for staggers, PB is good for weakpoints, Micro missles can melt through Doom Hunter's first phase Chaingun - Damage is good, falters demons quickly, shield is a lifesaver in UN and allows you to barrage archviles without interruptions, mobile turret is good but overshadowed by quickswitching Ballista - Damage is great and can be used in quickswitching. You say the lock-on burst of the rocket launcher is good for taking down barons and tyrants, but that's wrong. It actually takes more rockets with lock-on burst to kill either than simply shooting single rockets at them does. It takes 12 single-fire rockets to kill a tyrant, but 18 with lock-on burst. 8 single-fire to kill barons, but 12 with lock-on. It appears fast but is very inefficient
i don't really consider doom eternal to have a "worst" weapon, every single one of them serves different purposes and complement each other for making comos with quick swapping, and the bfg and unmakyr are more of panic buttons
i think that this entire concept for a video is a little bit stupid... since afterall, there is no "worst" or "best" weapon in doom eternal, every weapon has its place in the game and does its own different thing

Idk why, but when I played doom eternal, I hated the super shotgun, and now I'm playing 2016 and it's the best by far. I think that when playing eternal, it didn't feel as a super strong weapon

i would put ballista above rocket and supershotgun behind ballista and chaingun above combat shotgun and ballista being the best actually not the best but just my favorite and most used gun along with heavy cannon
I the only changes i would make would be both shotguns at the very top, i use the shotguns way too much, and then the rocket launcher at the very bottom, as its way too slow and i can never hit anything with it

(Not including super weapons of course) 7: Heavy canon, While I do think it is useful against heavy demons with weak points like the mancubus I haven't completely mastered it so that's why it's so low on my list also the mini missiles are forgettable but useful at times. 6: The plasma rifle, it's a good weapon but when I got the microwave beam, I felt like I made a mistake picking it because I didn't know I'd been using it wrong also I think the heat wave is better. 5: combat Shotgun, it is really useful (In my opinion you don't need to upgrade anything for it to be good) Yes while with full auto it takes a bit for it to get ready and runs through ammo pretty quickly it isn't that long for it to get ready it's not even a second and the sticky bombs are my go too mod for it because of its usefulness. 4: The chain gun, I think it's really helpful in a lot of situations when you have the shield protecting you from attacks from demons like the Tyrant is really useful and yes while the turret mod is helpful and would be my go too mod if the shield didn't exist I feel that protection is more important than damage (DO NOT TAKE THAT OUT OF CONTEXT). 3: Rocket launcher, it's really useful against big enemies but it burns through ammo really quickly when using the lock on, but it is still useful, and I'd never really saw the usefulness in the remote detonate because well what's the point of it? I mean sure it's so that you still don't miss but the auto lock on never misses (What it's locked onto that is). 2: Super Shotgun, yes, it's iconic but that isn't why I'm putting it up here it's because you can use the meathook (Which is its only mod but that's okay) Plus the amount of damage it does is absurd like once you get rid of the armor from the cyber mancubus you can literally one-shot it with the super shotgun and even if you miss it is likely that it will be in the glory kill state so it's very reliable even against bosses or mini-bosses like the marauder. 1: The ballista, not only does it do a lot of damage but is really useful and can be great for doing combos with the super shotgun against enemies like the marauder and the destroyer blade does take a while to charge up but when you fire it it's worth it also, I know the bombs it has are useful but I didn't get it because I feel that the combat shotgun's sticky bombs are a bit more useful mainly because you can shoot more of them and the fact that they recharge pretty quickly even without the weapon switching but still this is for me the best weapon in the game (Even though I don't use it as much as the other weapons). I don't care if people agree or disagree with my list because this is my opinion you can make your own opinions, and I'll respect it.
How i would rank them Plasma rifle- damn near useless. Its so weak its not worth using it against heavys and super heavys so its only useful taking out fodder with it and i would still rather use literally any other weapon to do that. Literally only thing i use the plasma rifle for is spirits. Chaingun- pretty much the same deal as with the plasma rifle but atleast this weapon has the shield mod which has saved my ass multiple times. Now for me its hard to rank the combat shotgun, rocket launcher and ballista because they all are very good and have a place in my playstyle but the order i came up with is: Ballista- really good for taking care of cacos, good for long range when paired with the pb, you can shoot the ground near a marauder to restun him which can allow you to one cycle him and also i like to use it as a finishing blow to end for example a pb + rocket barrage to kill the enemy. Overall really good but i think i use this weapon the least out of these 3 Combat shotgun- you might be asking why is this weapon this high up but it is because you can combo the sticky bombs with the pb to deal a ton of damage and safely because sticky bombs dont deal self damage. Just keep in mind this combo requires very specific timings to work properly. Rocket launcher- really strong when paired with the pb and pretty much allows you ro achieve the highest dps you possibly can. Super shotgun- not only is the weapon really strong but the meathook is the cherry on top. It adds so much mobility and even gives you armor. The first few levels where youd dont have it feel so slow without it. Heavy cannon- best weapon in the game thanks to the precision bolt mod which allows you to combo it with almost every weapon to deal a shit ton of damage.
I agree with the rest of the order pretty much, but plasma is easily the worst. It's so bad that id had to invent a new AI to force people to use it. Otherwise it's just using up the plasma ammo that could be used by the ballista instead.

Imo, there is no best or worse weapon in this game quite frankly because every weapon compliments each other with a few exceptions of super weapons
My weapon ranking goes like this:
1. SSG - Meathook is easily the most versatile tool in the game and used in quickswitch combos
2. Heavy Cannon - The PB is used in 90% of the highest DPS combos in the game
3. Ballista - It can break weakpoints, used in quickswitch combos and both mods have lots of versatility
4. Rocket Launcher - It is used in the highest DPS combo in the game and lock on does lots of raw damage to super heavies and spirits
5. Chaingun - The energy shield is easily the most OP tool in the game behind the Sentinel Hammer
6. Plasma Rifle - base fire can stagger fodder easily and tools have lots of versatility
7. Combat Shotgun - only good thing about it is the sticky bombs and maybe the full auto

I'd swap the SSG with the Rocket Launcher. The flaming meathook basically gives free armor shards and could be the difference between seeing the game over screen and living.
Great vid. My number 1 would definitely be the SSG, simply because without it the ability to traverse around would not be possible, potentially negating the ability to put yourself in situations to make the most of other weapons and equipment.

You know a game is awesome when all the weapons are awesome.
Full auto shotgun mod is great for finishing off player demons in battlemode
My list
1. Rocket Launcher(Remote Detonation)- great for faltering and add clear
2. Ballista(Arbalest)- quickswapping with SSG ans Rocket along with big meatball damage
3. Super Shotgun- movement and quick swapping with the Ballista and Rocket Launcher
4. Combat Shotgun(Sticky Bomb)- for weakpoints and quickswapping
5. Heavy Cannon(Micro Missiles)- good overall damage and crowd control and the Micro Missiles are still good for quickswapping with the Rocket Launcher or Sticky Bombs
6. Chaingun(Mobile Turret)- decent damage to big enemies and stuns Hell Knights, Dread Knights, and Barons
7. Plasma Rifle(Heat Blast for base game, Microwave Beam for DLC)- good shields and spirits
My list from best to worst (single usage, no combos).
1) SSG - can you imagine Doom without it? I can't and the hook is great.
2) Combat shotgun - most practical weapon with sticky bomb mod before you have SSG, after that rank 5)
3) Rocket launcher - when SSG is empty, triple missile with lock and handy for shields
4) Plasma rifle - just necessary for spirits
5) Heavy cannon - sniper is needed quite often
6) Chaingun - occasionally useful, not necessary at all although shield is powerful
7) Ballista - just feels slow to me, never really had much use for this weapon
I agree, but i'd probably change the ballista with the plasma rifle, especially beacuse I think ballista is extremely powerful and kind of versatile (so I'd probably put heavy cannon up and put this one down).
But yeah, I really like this list, a bit more than the video
I was honestly expecting this list to list each weapon twice, once for each mod, (except super shotgun) but I’m not disappointed. I personally am having a hard time getting the hang of the microwave beam. Something I would have included would be the recoil from the ballista which you can use to back up from a mancubus or something big that gets in your face.
I'll just say this, I understand your opinion, but try playing just SSG and you'll become an overlord at resource management, plus the fact that it has the highest damage per shot and highest damage per second out of all weapons.
SSG easily takes 1st spot for me because I can speed run ultra nightmare just with SSG and the rest is chainsaw and other utility in my kit.
the grenade launcher you have on your shoulder does more damage than both Arbalest and sticky bomb, and throws smaller grenades along, so clearing out entire hordes is a piece of cake with these.
explosive barrels or items grant you ammo if you are the one who impacts its explosion, so make great use of it.
chainsaw....everyone knows its use
if situations get dire, the crucible or Sentinel hammer can save you.
Flame Belch is also affected by SSG the most so make use of it as well
in Short, SSG makes up for its inversatility with being able to interact with quite literally everything unless the enemy is a stone imp or blood maykr (blood maykrs theoretically can be killed by SSG but it's easier to do with precision bolt HC or Ballista)
Ice grenade also helps for easing aim and increased damage against iced enemies.
and last but not least, GLORY KILLS and BLOOD PUNCH, they are far more useful than players give them credit, most pro players play the run away while quick swapping strat, but the Blood punch and glory kills allow for more aggressive attacks as they falter big demons and insta kill any fodder in your range while staggering those slightly further away, aka MORE GLORY KILLS AND MORE BLOOD PUNCHES.
in other words, your utility is stronger than every gun in Doom Slayer's arsenal except the SSG as the SSG interacts with them perfectly.

I think it's cool how you mentioned that even the low ranked weapons are still great.
an interesting interaction I found is that all equipment can be used during microwave beam. since many enemies recover quickly making falter setups hard this is a great way to safely deal massive amounts of damage (plus you basically have an hp bar of the enemy while doing it
Fun fact: Chain gun is Hell Knight's weakness, but you get this weapon like 3 levels after encountering Hell Knight for the first time.

I'm replaying Doom Eternal right now, and I agree with many of the comments here. Each weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses and they all help the gunplay feel more interactive by keeping you on your toes and using the right weapon against the right demons
What i love about this game is imo the game has no bad weapons, all of them can shred
my favorite gun in contrast is the super shotgun
Fun fact: you can use the lock on burst of the rocket launcher to easily kill marauders, its a little bit difficult but its a great help
I feel like the best way of making a weapon ranking video is to rank the primary fire and the individual mods seperately.
The rest of your opinions are fine, but how on earth are you gonna put the chain gun and combat shotgun below the plasma rifle, the microwave beam is the only reason I’ve ever used it and the whole, set up glory kill thing, you should just use the heavy cannon. Not to mention the horrendously low damage output , it just takes way to long to kill anything that isn’t a fodder or a revenant

In the OG Doom games the sound design for this weapon was abhorrent.
Unplayable without mods. And in terms of firepower - nothing compares
to the OG Plasmagun. That was a real weapon of destruction.
Having that said, this equation has changed with the later games.
I personally use the Sticky nades on the shotgun for specific weakpoints on deamons with them and the arbalist for groups of enemies to falter then. So both have they're uses.

In all actuality, it's really hard to rank weapons based on how good they are since they are so well made and all have unique uses for them that make them all really good.
Heavy Cannon is good for weapon switching combos with the PB, but also has surprisingly good damage with micro missiles.
Combat Shotgun may get outclassed early on, the sticky bombs early game help is amazing along with full auto being good for decent damage AND ammo preservation.
Plasma Rifle may be my least favorite, but it shines in stopping demons. With heat blast being a hard falter and destroying weak points at full blast and microwave beam stopping any demon for a few seconds if you need to stop a major threat, it does have uses.
Rocket Launcher is great for damage. Lock on is straight up DPS and is the highest DPS mod in the game, bar none. However remote dentonation is great for taking care of groups of demons and it's soft falter mechanic can really help against heavies and super heavies.
Chain Gun is great for two very opposite things. The mobile turret has stupidly good DPS and is great for combing with faultering demons with frag grenades or ice grenades. However, the shield is great if you need time to breath or want to be on the defensive for a few seconds.
Ballista is the only base weapon to have hitscan, PB being the only other gun to be hitscan. Most people use ballista in combos for straight damage, but the mods offer great utility as well. Arbalest is great for sniping flying demons or small packs of demons while the destroyer blade is just straight up dps, offering great utility when demons are grouping up together.
And then, of course, the super shot gun. I feel naked without it. Meathook for mobility and for armor, great DPS and is used in so many combos as well. How can you not love the flagship gun of this game.
Seriously, not a gun I don't like. All of them are great, have their uses, and really do shine in their own moments.

Also when u use it it does one shot before it explodes so It can give u a glory kill state before it blows up and if you use the glory kill,the explosion still occures which makes the weapon very useful when there is a lot of ennemies

The chaingun and its shield are vital for UN master levels and anything UN in general.Every weapon in Eternal is necessary.The devs are on another level.

I dont do big combos of weapons, i normally do only combos of 2 weapons or 3 at last, so i usually use the super shotgun and then change to the balista, almost everything dies in a sec, if there is a baron or an arch demon i just go ball and use the rocket launcher volley

I don't agree, but the beauty of this game is that all of the weapons are good and viable throughout the whole game. My number 1 is the Super Shotgun for its movement tech and damage output. Number 2 is the Plasma Rifle. I love the heat blast mod on it. After that I'm not sure but I would also put the Chaingun last. It's definitely the least interesting. But like I said, all weapons in this game are good.
Personally, I would've put the Chaingun much higher and the Heavy Cannon quite a bit lower. (I'm talking from the perspective of a base game player on console)
Yes, Precision Bolt is amazing for weak points and Makyr Drones (and Khan Makyr if you combo with Ballista), but Micro Missiles feels like a lesser version of Mobile Turret, which is a great tool for taking out the bigger demons (mainly Tyrants, it softens them up for the Rocket Launcher nicely), also the Shield is a literal lifesaver.
Please remember that I'm on console so combos are a bit slower, so mods like Mobile Turret still have a lot of uses.

From what i can tell most of these ranking videos (except a select few) just rate the gun based on the pure dmg and dps and never thought of things like quick switching or other techs (like the pb punch pb tech)

I would put the Super shot gun 7 and the Heavy canon 1 simply because I don’t do quick switching combos.
I mostly agree except I would put the SSG at the top as even if the meat hook is its only mod, it gives you the oportunity to evolve through an another dimension in combat : Verticality.
And from my experience (and the experrience of Obi Wan) if you have the high ground, you have the advantage
fun list.. I have to say the SSG takes the cake for me if only for it's mobility and armor regen. If you took one thing from my arsenal that would make this game 20 times harder it would have to be the SSG. To be fair the Sniper shot is super strong but if you took it from me there are other less optimized combos that would still put the hurt down. If you took away my ability to fly across the map running from the ghosted hell knight who wants to put me down for good I think I'd struggle a lot more. Cheers fun video!

Weapon tier list (Worst to best)
Combat shotgun - Damage is shit, full auto is shit, stickies are overshadowed by good ol HAR and Ballista in terms of hitting weak spots
Plasma rifle - Only good for shields. The microwave beam can also help get a pressure demon off you, and heat blast is good for weak spots and stunlocks
BFG - A lifesaver, but ammo is scarce and only appears in the late game
Heavy Cannon - Damage is good for staggers, PB is good for weakpoints, Micro missles can melt through Doom Hunter's first phase
Chaingun - Damage is good, falters demons quickly, shield is a lifesaver in UN and allows you to barrage archviles without interruptions, mobile turret is good but overshadowed by quickswitching
Ballista - Damage is great and can be used in quickswitching. The mods are niche
Rocket Launcher - Damage is great, lock on burst helps deal with many demons easily
SSG - Damage is great, meat hook gives armor which is invaluable

You say the lock-on burst of the rocket launcher is good for taking down barons and tyrants, but that's wrong. It actually takes more rockets with lock-on burst to kill either than simply shooting single rockets at them does. It takes 12 single-fire rockets to kill a tyrant, but 18 with lock-on burst. 8 single-fire to kill barons, but 12 with lock-on. It appears fast but is very inefficient
i don't really consider doom eternal to have a "worst" weapon, every single one of them serves different purposes and complement each other for making comos with quick swapping, and the bfg and unmakyr are more of panic buttons

Idk why, but when I played doom eternal, I hated the super shotgun, and now I'm playing 2016 and it's the best by far. I think that when playing eternal, it didn't feel as a super strong weapon

Personally a few i have some slight dissagreements with but overall this is a very solid list.
Doom Eternal has no bad weapons. They are all instruments for mutilating demons
i would put ballista above rocket and supershotgun behind ballista and chaingun above combat shotgun and ballista being the best actually not the best but just my favorite and most used gun along with heavy cannon

I the only changes i would make would be both shotguns at the very top, i use the shotguns way too much, and then the rocket launcher at the very bottom, as its way too slow and i can never hit anything with it
I disagree with this list, but I respect your opinion so here is my list from worst to best. (Not including super weapons of course)
7: Heavy canon, While I do think it is useful against heavy demons with weak points like the mancubus I haven't completely mastered it so that's why it's so low on my list also the mini missiles are forgettable but useful at times.
6: The plasma rifle, it's a good weapon but when I got the microwave beam, I felt like I made a mistake picking it because I didn't know I'd been using it wrong also I think the heat wave is better.
5: combat Shotgun, it is really useful (In my opinion you don't need to upgrade anything for it to be good) Yes while with full auto it takes a bit for it to get ready and runs through ammo pretty quickly it isn't that long for it to get ready it's not even a second and the sticky bombs are my go too mod for it because of its usefulness.
4: The chain gun, I think it's really helpful in a lot of situations when you have the shield protecting you from attacks from demons like the Tyrant is really useful and yes while the turret mod is helpful and would be my go too mod if the shield didn't exist I feel that protection is more important than damage (DO NOT TAKE THAT OUT OF CONTEXT).
3: Rocket launcher, it's really useful against big enemies but it burns through ammo really quickly when using the lock on, but it is still useful, and I'd never really saw the usefulness in the remote detonate because well what's the point of it? I mean sure it's so that you still don't miss but the auto lock on never misses (What it's locked onto that is).
2: Super Shotgun, yes, it's iconic but that isn't why I'm putting it up here it's because you can use the meathook (Which is its only mod but that's okay) Plus the amount of damage it does is absurd like once you get rid of the armor from the cyber mancubus you can literally one-shot it with the super shotgun and even if you miss it is likely that it will be in the glory kill state so it's very reliable even against bosses or mini-bosses like the marauder.
1: The ballista, not only does it do a lot of damage but is really useful and can be great for doing combos with the super shotgun against enemies like the marauder and the destroyer blade does take a while to charge up but when you fire it it's worth it also, I know the bombs it has are useful but I didn't get it because I feel that the combat shotgun's sticky bombs are a bit more useful mainly because you can shoot more of them and the fact that they recharge pretty quickly even without the weapon switching but still this is for me the best weapon in the game (Even though I don't use it as much as the other weapons).
I don't care if people agree or disagree with my list because this is my opinion you can make your own opinions, and I'll respect it.
How i would rank them
Plasma rifle- damn near useless. Its so weak its not worth using it against heavys and super heavys so its only useful taking out fodder with it and i would still rather use literally any other weapon to do that. Literally only thing i use the plasma rifle for is spirits.
Chaingun- pretty much the same deal as with the plasma rifle but atleast this weapon has the shield mod which has saved my ass multiple times.
Now for me its hard to rank the combat shotgun, rocket launcher and ballista because they all are very good and have a place in my playstyle but the order i came up with is:
Ballista- really good for taking care of cacos, good for long range when paired with the pb, you can shoot the ground near a marauder to restun him which can allow you to one cycle him and also i like to use it as a finishing blow to end for example a pb + rocket barrage to kill the enemy. Overall really good but i think i use this weapon the least out of these 3
Combat shotgun- you might be asking why is this weapon this high up but it is because you can combo the sticky bombs with the pb to deal a ton of damage and safely because sticky bombs dont deal self damage. Just keep in mind this combo requires very specific timings to work properly.
Rocket launcher- really strong when paired with the pb and pretty much allows you ro achieve the highest dps you possibly can.
Super shotgun- not only is the weapon really strong but the meathook is the cherry on top. It adds so much mobility and even gives you armor. The first few levels where youd dont have it feel so slow without it.
Heavy cannon- best weapon in the game thanks to the precision bolt mod which allows you to combo it with almost every weapon to deal a shit ton of damage.

I agree with the rest of the order pretty much, but plasma is easily the worst. It's so bad that id had to invent a new AI to force people to use it. Otherwise it's just using up the plasma ammo that could be used by the ballista instead.
