As a licensed esthetician I thank you guys for this video cause sometimes people don’t trust me as a professional so hearing actual doctors being pro microneedling is HUGE
I like listening to you guys, but I am so confused so I went to my dermatologist and the aesthetician told me that what I was wanting I do not have deep wrinkles. I just want to keep these wrinkles from getting too deep so she told me that micro needling or clear and brilliant would not work for me that maybe laser treatment from the doctor might work, but her best option was Botox and she would not put the Botox on my Neck or by my mouth. She only wanted to do the parts around my crows feet and the 11s which aren’t bad but if it keeps it from making stronger creases, I was for it, but what I don’t understand is why is she against having the micro needling telling me that it probably won’t work and that I need to go into a more drastic change.? I’m serious. My wrinkles aren’t bad yet. I’m 58 and they are just starting to creep in and I’m starting to get that turkey neck and I want it fixed lol help should I find another dermatologist
@@theresanelson9666 WHAT??? Of course microneedling would help, a lot. As a prevention treatment is KEY, but it’s also amazing to treat actual wrinkles. Unfortunately there are some estheticians and dermatologist that would suggest other treatments that indeed would treat what you’re looking for and faster but it’s more expensive and that it’s convenient for them. I think you should definitely try microneedling and use your retinoids and sunscreen and you would be fine. Mind you, you have to do like 5 sessions and rest for a year and continue after. I would suggest to do the treatment with plasma
I agree but I don't agree with "at home" microneedling as a Licensed Esthetician. Even with warning people to be cautious and follow protocols and sterilization, unfortunately people still won't. I've seen horrifying examples of people who have microneedled at home and they too thought they did all the right things. We are educated and have all the products and tools for this type of procedure in clinic. Ladies and gents, please just go see a professional for a treatment like this. There is a reason we have to be licensed to perform this in a professional setting on people. Trust that and see your local and educated esthetician or derm. 🙏 We will advise you and create a plan specific for you as well as a post care plan for optimal healing and recovery! Trust and invest in a professional! 💝💝💝
I trusted my esthetician and I told her I want something light for a facial she did microdermabrasion it was horrible I really trusted her it’s been 3 months still healing my skin is very sensitive
I’ve had pretty much every facial going, and I can say with certainty that the microneedling has had the best effect long term on my skin. It got rid of my acne scars, hyperpigmentation, reduced pore size and fine lines around my eyes. I had to have multiple treatments but I’m going to keep this one up forever
I started microneedling at home at 27. Now, about 5 years later, I'm almost 32 and my skin still doesn't have a single wrinkle. I use sunscreen and retinol, too. Keep your skincare simple and be consistent. That's enough.
@@salmaali5210 I started with a very low concentration (Ordinary 0.2 retinol in squalane) and worked my way up to the 1%. Currentyl I am using the Cos de Baha Retinol with 2.5% and oce or twice a week I use a professional strength tretinoin cream with 0.05 %
@@March_13_18 The Derminator 2. I use cheap manual dermarollers in between at 0.25. That's enough to start the microneedling journey. ;) If you like the treatment you can buy an electronic device.
I started with a dermaroller at home 0.5 and I didn’t notice a big difference and also got an infection because I imagine I hadn’t cleaned and sterilised properly. Now I have a Dr. Pen at home device and it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my skin. The Dr Pen has a dial so you can adjust the depth and super easy to use. My skin is tighter, younger, plumper and healthy looking. I am 53 and a skincare junky these days. This is definitely worth it. Too expensive in salon when it’s so easy to do yourself.
I liveeee for microneedling. Glad to see derms not immediately shut it down. I always suggest people get it done first if they are nervous, so they can get a feel for it and see a professional do it.
I did microneedlig with prp for my acne scars and with one session my scars are barely visible. It really made a difference in my skin and my confidence. Can't wait to get another treatment in.
I’ve been incorporated dermarolling into my anti-aging skin care routine and I think it’s fabulous. When done correctly, you can visibly see a difference in your skin. I’m 41 and people always tell me I look like I’m in my early 30s. For reference, I use a 0.3mm needle, a device that was approved by Health Canada and I only roll 1-2 a week.
I've watched your videos, you do not look like you're in your early 30's. You look your age to late 30's. Not to say that's a bad thing but you do have great skin so everything must be working well.
I have incorporated it into my skincare as well for anti aging. I’ve had great results. I did a lot of research and bought a quality roller before attempting to roll on my skin.
A video on microneedling vs microdermabrasion vs laser treatments for large pores or even chemical peels would be awesome! Trying to figure out what procedure I should do :)
I had a friend years ago that would do microdermabrasion treatments on me I felt it was a complete waste of time but she never charged me much and she always included it in the facial she gave me. you might as well have taken a fine grade sandpaper and rubbed it over my face after the facial. I looked great for an hour I never saw any real improvement.
Swear you guys are reading my mind, because I just finished my first microneedling treatment. My tech was excellent and even though I’ll need more sessions to reach my goals, I already see a slight improvement in skin smoothness.
@@consultant2b my derm recommended at least 3 consecutive sessions to really see any major results for my scars. The first treatment gave me about 15% improvement in my skin texture, but I’m only about 2.5 weeks post treatment so I’m not sure if it will last.
@@makahragayle8973 Thanks, please do let us know if you find out the answer to that question. I was advised a similar protocol for ice-pick scars, but I am not sure if the results are permanent or reversible once you stop taking the sessions. Good luck with your treatment.
Just got micro-needling done at a skin institute, it really was worth it. They numb your face first and it didn't hurt too bad. The woman, who was also a student explained to me step by step what she was going to do. The redness went away and it felt to me like a mild sunburn. I will be going back to this school and getting a facial and chemical peel along with a neck lift in a couple of months. I like to also in a couple of years, get another microneedling done again.
I literally just reached out to Dr. Shah to ask about this. Glad I had the good sense to look in RUclips to see if I there was already a video. Thank you!
I’ve had 3 microneedling sessions for mild ice pick scarring and my skin looks horrendous for about 3 weeks after each treatment. By week 5 though my skin looks amazing! I recommend it 🙂
@@mooramsravanireddy289 I do notice my skin looks smoother and pores are less noticeable. I am in my 20s so I did not notice much difference in plumping.
I’ve had 3 and prob won’t get anymore. I can’t tell any difference in the texture of my skin and did not make sun damage less noticeable. All in all a waste of money for me.
Thanks for discussing micro-needling. I haven’t tried it yet because I didn’t want to damage my skin. I have a roller that hasn’t been used because I always have this lingering thought of damaging my already aging skin 😊 I definitely like the stamping method with disposable tips. I am going to try this out. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Also, thanks to Dr. Shah for letting us know that optimistic people are late 😂 I can’t wait to inform my husband that there is absolutely nothing wrong with me always being late; I mean, I am just an optimist!!! As always, you two are greatly appreciated for sharing your knowledge of skincare. I love this channel.
I love microneedling and have been doing it at home for the last 14 years. I have the manual rollers, stamps and the infusion stamps plus the electric dermapen. I find the electric one hurts less than manual devices, but I like all the devices and have seen benefits from them all (I am very careful to sanitize everything and have never had issues). I stopped microneedling last year for at least 9 months (just from laziness) and noticed my skin did not look as good so started it back up. Loved hearing your professional thoughts on it and always enjoy your videos!
What I can say is MAKE SURE you COMPLETELY remove any numbing cream. I did microneedling no problem until I decided to just wipe off the numbing cream one time, had a HUGE reaction, red face for days, didn’t recover for months. Even now I think my skin is worse than before the treatment
I love the roller over the banana verses the needles. Perfect explanation. As a hairdresser for over 40 years I have seen so many products and treatments. Tried a lot of them. Currently I'm using a micro-needling pen on clients to jump start hair growth. With every client I do the treatments on they are growing hair. Thanks for your information it is just another validation of what I'm doing!
@Rick Lesser Most states allow cosmetologists to do hair, facials, and nails. However, they are not allowed to penetrate the epidermis or handle blood borne pathogens. I’m a licensed cosmetologist instructor from CA so I am aware some states differ. I know some allow derma-planing while other states do not. However, microneedling is different. I have my Body Art certificate which allows me to do it, but without it, I wouldn’t be able to as a cosmetologist. I had to take further training in handling blood-borne pathogens and have my facility inspected and approved. Great to hear you have yours as well. Still- most states don’t allow cosmos alone to do it.
@@mamamua4644 it's kind of funny to me I can do it in my sleep it's so easy I've been doing hair for 45 years so maybe that's why I am always up for something new what I thought was fascinating is for Florida you have to have a job before they'll give you your tattoo license it doesn't have to be permanent you can be a traveling artist. I need so many different things over the years gone to so many seminars taught at shows work as a production coordinator I guess for me it's just easy I went to college for 4 years and then Beauty School the last 6 months of college I thought oh my God this is a joke 😂 check my written exam in 20 minutes they asked are you sure don't want to check it I said I did check it tossed on the desk and walked out the door. I think I got one wrong
@@ricklesser5851 Yeah sounds like you’re super experienced. I don’t always agree with the rules and regs for Stateboard but I just didn’t want someone to read the comment and think it’s legal in all states for cosmos. Here it is punishable by fine, removal of license and 1 year of jail time for microneedling. And they have been really hunkering down and making examples of cosmos. I personally have only been licensed here in CA and for 15 years. Got hired at a MedSpa and had to get additional training and certifications to do it now. I think the additional blood borne pathogen training was necessary and highly recommend. Awesome to hear a cosmo as experienced as yourself doing the most. Very cool.
Microneedling 7 yrs. Dermarolling with derma roller at first and now Dr Pen. It works, I do it once a month and follow with my serums. My skin is so thick now I feel no pain. It is a routine in my beauty arsenal.
In the 80's my grandmother was a dermatologist . When I was 10 she taught me the importance of skin care. Her advise stuck with me & I've always taken great care of my face. Thank U grandma! 😊
Thank you for sharing your insights on at-home microneedling! I've been using the Banisher at-home derma stamp from Banish Acne Scars for years and I swear by it for lessening the appearance of my acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, brightening and plumping my skin. I'm someone who cannot afford in-office treatments, so at-home alternatives are important for me.
Thank you so much for this Doctor Eyecandy and Doctor Eyecandy. I have been contemplating getting this done and now I'm sold. I love having more knowledge prior to going for a procedure. I am 64.5 years old. Everything about this procedure makes sense because aerating your face has the very same benefits as doing my property aerating right? Watching both of you simply elevates my day!
I went 2 times. First was 400 bucks, 2nd was 300. The lady said I would start seeing results after 4 times. Would be happy after 6/7. What do I sell first ? My house or my car ? I obviously stopped.
Thank you Doctors for sharing your advice on how to microneedle safely! As owner of Banish that started my company in 2013, microneedling had changed my skin and my life and I couldn't believe it was so simple to do at home! I do want to say though, after having been in the industry for almost a decade, I DO NOT recommend serum infused microneedling products. Why? Because if one does microneedle over active acne, that would infuse with the serum and make it easier to spread through the entire face. Kind of like back-washing. I remember Chriselle Lim posted a device similar to this on TikTok and it got a lot of backlash. With my device, the banisher 2.0 I created a self sanitizing cap in which you can microneedle a small area, then put your serum on top right after (do not touch the dropper to your face!) and then use the cap to clean the device and move on to the next area. In the studies in which infections were reported, it was because one had microneedled over active cysts. Just wanted to bring that to your attention! Thank you for sharing your tips and promoting the idea that microneedling at home can be safe when done with the right devices! Daisy
Thanks! I had microroller treatment at MD office more than10 yrs ago! And after I learn how to manage, I did at home! Years later I found Dermapen more safe! And I am happy with it! I never bleed, (home treats) I believe it’s not necessary to be effective! Thanks 🙏🏻 ❤
12:13 No - dermapens are dirt cheap these days, everyone can buy one for like half the price of a proper visit to the dermatologist. It would be neat if you could cover microneediling at home on yourself.
Regarding re-using a derma roller and infection risk. In hospitals and clinics items are sterilized using an autoclave. A common piece of kitchen is an autoclave - a pressure cooker. I surface clean my roller with sterilizing fluid (the stuff you'd use on baby's bottles) and then into the pressure cooker.
I'm an esthetician and my attention span for these types of videos are minimal. You are so engaging together I can actually watch these for continued education. Thanks!
So glad you made this, thank you! It validates me :) My Dr. Pen once a month has been absolutely amazing. Sanitation and washing the skin carefully before and after is key, especially if you're acne prone like me! I make sure the towel I dry with and even my pillowcase that night is super clean, too.
Microneedling has improved my skin so much. I started out getting the Skin Pen at the doctors office. After learning how it’s done I’ve bought the Dr Pen from Amazon and do it myself now.
Love my Dr. Pen M8! I've used for over a year. I have the nano cartridges (along with 16 pin), using them a couple times a week. Currently, I'm following a peel/medical needle routine. Waiting 3 weeks in between each before moving on. Peels are from Platinum Skin Care.
I'm microneedle at home once a week. 0.5 all over my face and 1.5mm for hair line. I wash my face first, then microneedle, then use a vitamin c oil, followed by a moisturiser. I disagree with needing to change your device after each use. I've been using the same devices for months now, without issue. I simply spray with an anti bacterial spray before use, leave for 5 mins, then rinse off and use. After use, I respray and leave in the case until next time. Since using my fine lines around my eyes have reduced. My black rings around my eyes have massively reduced, and my bags have disappeared. My pores have reduced and I no longer get spots. My hairline has started growing back through and I don't even use minoxidil. My wife said she has even notice a blatant difference around my eyes, especially my dark circles and bags. No need to be scared of it. It doesn't hurt, and so long as you make sure the hygiene part of it is in check then you'll be fine. Note; your supposed to roll and lift then repeat, not just roll continuesly, hence the dragging affect on the banana if you don't LIFT after each roll.
Microneedeling, done @ the Med Spa, has completely changed my skin . I actually just had another session just 2 days ago . I try to do 3 times a year , life changing
I’d love a video on radio frequency in office and at home! I’m 40, my skin is starting to sag, but I’m scared of also losing face fat. Love your informative and straightforward videos! Thanks!
I am in the same boat I am 43 I have lost fat in my face and I don’t know if it is from weight loss or from the 2 RF MICRO-NEEDLING Morpheus treatments I had done in office. I don’t know what to do. I have sagging jowls and just want to tighten my face.
Oh dear. I've seen dermatologists warn against deeper needle depths (from 3.5mm) going into the fat and causing fat loss. And apparently that's all it takes to injure nerves and hit the artery in the jawline. I cancelled my first treatment because they use 3.5mm needles and I just don't want to take any chances. I can't believe how deep Morpheus goes, it sounds insane. Interesting that the Drs don't mention these dangers because so many other licensed derms do, and you can buy DIY dermaroller at those depths which is really irresponsible. I hope your fat loss is from weight loss. I would stay away from that treatment and continue with smaller needles when you're ready.
@@richrich2862 I also had filler in my face in my cheeks temples and jawline I haven't had it done in about 8 months bc I just can't afford the upkeep. I purchased the Medicube AGE-R its a Ems tool and have been using that on my jawline to try to tighten that turkey neck 😂 I am wondering if my jowls can seem heavier from the cheek filler bc they say it migrates?
I just had my aesthetician do micro needling on me today. It already looks a little better than after I was first done as far as the redness goes. Hopefully I feel 10 years younger next week.
Just did my dermapen 2mm session at my clinic when this was posted. Before I used to sporadically use a 2mm manual dermastamp. Woah after my session I realized that I did not do my at home sessions thoroughly, manual vs electronic is like day and night. She really got in there to break up the old scar tissue, i could feel what she was doing and even though it was a bit uncomfortable she could reach places I could not on my own, like my jawline bone where a lot of old cystic acne made uneven bumps underneath my skin. II did not bleed at all which was so surprising especially how intense she went, unlike with the dermastamp. The peeling only started this morning and I'm more curious to see the difference compared to when I did it manually. I'm watching your video now.
I love micro needling, but I'd never do it at home, due to the fact of having a massive infection reaction. Plus, I really enjoy visiting my dermatologist 💖
In your video about RF microneedling, please talk about the risk of volume loss. This happened to me (it was my one and only cosmetic treatment so definitely was that). My under eyes were not that bad at all before and now I have deep hollows and also look like I have bags because of the loss under my eyes and in my upper cheek. The nurse that did my treatment said she’d never seen this happen before but I’m now learning this is a risk with any heat device. I’m now having to look into PRF gel injections to try to remedy the damage done. I know that RF microneedling can give good results in some people (depending on where and how aggressively it is used), but I want others to know the risks involved so they don’t suffer what I have! There needs to be more education to the practitioners so they can adequately disclose the risks to consumers. How often should regular in-office microneedling be done to maintain the benefits?
Nooooo dont do that injections. There have been studies done that could work in your favour for the loss of fat (I made a dent too with my microcurrent device which I stopped for about a year and the fat us back again no more dent - so dont listen to the myths that you cannot get your facial fat back again). Check out Claudia Glows and The Honest Channel - they speak about 2 different creams that reach deep within the subcutaneous levels to rebuild. But it's not a quick fix though, (I didnt use anything special on my dent it came back on it's own and it was at the apple of my cheek), you could try out both companies for about 3 months each and see how it goes. I'd also advise you to drink lots of rooibos teas. Devices arent the devil its just we are not aware how it would affect us longterm, so basically we are all Guinea pigs even for the clinics....but I started using my microcurrent device again but just for the slight jowl area cos if it disintegrated that cheek fat it can disintegrate the jowl fat heheh
I got RF done, it barely helped with anything. I had three treatments, and the only difference is that my skin is a little more even toned but very slightly. I'm sorry for your experience. I've heard of that happening. Terrible.
@@psahota9306 I really wish there were standardized training for anyone using it so that everyone using it knows how to make it as effective as possible without harming anyone!
Thank u for educating us! I did the dermapen last month and had great results with texture and bounciness of the skin. I bit the bullet and did the Sylfirm X two days ago. Already seeing immediate results with texture and waiting to see full results in the next week.
So happy you did this video. It was perfect timing for me as I just ordered the Qure Skincare Microneedling system to try at home. It was very reasonably priced and thought I’d try this at home to see what I think of the pain level, etc. before taking the plunge on a more expensive set of treatment series at my Derm office.
Yes wud Appreciate GREATLY If u would pls inform are the QURE Microneedles painful pls? Don’t wanna unnecessary throw money & waste later. TQVM with gratefulness.
I am addicted to home microneedling. Once a month I set my Dr. Pen to 1mm or 1.5mm if I am targeting my acne scars. I only use hyaluronic acid as a slip, but a couple hours later I'll apply Cosrx snail essence because my skin really likes it. I don't even use a pain numbing gel before hand. It's weird, but my mood afterwards is elevated in spite of having a raw face and neck. I attribute this to my body releasing adrenaline and opioid like substances in response to the pain. The tip of the nose is the worst, but I know that we have to suffer for beauty so I soldier through it. My fifty year old skin has tremendous glow because of microneedling, ascorbic acid, and glycolic acid. I am trying to introduce retinol into my routine, but you know how retinoids are. I may have to cut back on something.
I'm close to 40 and have been micro-needling for several months now. What I suggest you do if you are trying to work in a retinol is to be very cautious. I used my tretinoin too soon after one session and I had a slightly red face for some time. What I do now is wait about a week (or so) before thinking about using any retinoids, and then I gradually work up to my tretinoin. I purposely purchase weaker over-the-counter retinols so I can see how my face will react, than I work up to a stronger dose. And before I know it I'm back to using my beloved tretinoin. Idk if this is any help or if it makes any sense. LoL!!!
@@Sure_Sir I think I found the solution for my skin. Previously I was alternating Differin and a 20% glycolic acid product each night. My skin was a blotchy mess. Now I am using Roc Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream every night, and I am going to try exfoliating just once a week with glycolic acid. During the day I use a diy ascorbic acid toner, followed by a moisturizer or sun screen. I put on the Cosrx snail essense before the Roc cream, which buffers the retinol. So far this approach is working for me. I always wait two or three days after microneedling to reintroduce actives. Since I am only using a retinol product and not trentinoin, I am hoping my skin will be ok with retinol after a couple days. Thanks for responding!
I’ve used both, but the roller only a couple times. I like the pen. I have used the pen about 10x over 2 years. It works great and I’ve had no problems. It’s very inexpensive and easy to use. You should know yourself before using it. If you have sensitive skin, you don’t follow rules, you are messy, it might not be for you.
Hi Doctors🙂. What is your view about at home/ self Laser hair removal devices? How effective is laser hair removal? Benefits and side effects. Thanks in advance 🙂
Thanks for this! I’d love to see a series of videos on in-office procedures, what they are for, what to expect, risks, benefits, etc. I get emails from my dermatologist’s office for this or that procedure but they are mostly marketing and quite vague on the details. There are also sometimes different treatment choices for the same condition and it’s difficult to compare them and figure out what might hold the most benefits with the least amount of pain, downtime etc.
The best way to be convinced is by actually trying it, i had 4 session with the dermapen done for acne scaring and the difference that made is huge, there is no debate in this regard.
I love micro-needling and had it done professionally! But it is expensive. I love yalls approach is if people are gonna do it at home regardless if we tell them not, we’ll then let’s just show them the proper use. Cause I’m looking to do it myself to save money and time. Been researching proper ways to do it and this really helped
@@cyclops9202 varies depending on where you live. Mine was about 370$ but I’ve seen places around me go up to 900$. I got it with prp. Micro needling I would say is not something you want to go a skimp out on price because it can go really wrong if you go somewhere bad. Check their reviews etc.
@@SpaceOutlaw_ thank you for replying I've considered going but the price is 150€ for 5 visits and its too cheap compared to your numbers, so i was having second thoughts but they have nice and clean office and the reviews are quite good for most treatments they do and i personally know some of the people who went there.
@@cyclops9202 yes and I believe it depends on the type of device and who does it too (a derm vs aesthetician) use for it too can determine the price. I also got prp (aka blood facial). I would say go for it if all that checks out. Hope it goes well!
I recently did Microneedling and paid $450! But I wonder if that pen is any good. Because yes it is expensive, i wanna do it at home I just don’t know if it’s a good idea or not
Has anyone heard the theory by some doctors which states everyone has a limited supply of collagen and elastin and forcing trauma on the skin eg by microneedling just triggers early formation of the limited collagen we have and therefore could result in premature ageing in the long term? I read the following: ‘What most people don’t understand is that the skin has a limited “store” of collagen and elastin. This means you could be encouraging premature aging’ Dr. Ben Johnson explains this best: “Forcing skin turnover will temporarily result in improved skin appearance, but with time will weaken the skin’s support structure, accelerating aging processes. Furthermore, the skin can recover only about 90 percent from its wounds, so those who continuously wound it are creating a permanent level of inflammation that, over time, leads to skin deterioration.” I’ve had it done afew times and was quite happy with it and thought it was something I’d do forever but not so sure after reading the above. Would be interested to hear anyone’s thoughts? Thank you
My understanding of collagen is thart it's continuously produced and broken down throughout life. It's our body's ability to produce collagen that decreases as we age. This is why people ingest collagen when they're worried about that rather than rubbing it on the skin. I don't think it's a thing we only have one supply of, like eggs for women. However, I could see what he said about the skin not fully healing and the permanent inflammation being true and maybe that's how it could cause premature aging. I'd love to hear these guys' opinion about that!
The esthetician I went to advised me against this because I'm black and it would leave some hyperpigmentation . No doctor on RUclips advised against it because of skin color . One lady tried the one with the heat where you had to be numbed with a needle prior and she's darker than me and her skin looks great. I will be giving this a try.
I actually believe its the safest treatment for melanated ladies like us. I would avoid lasers at all costs... chemical peels only the lightest (even then the recocery time for me was 2 weeks from a light CP vs 24 hours recocery from Microneedling)
I use a 1.6mm roller on my stomach for stretch marks and it has produce amazing results. I use alcohol spray in the needles and my stomach and wait for it to dry before using it, then lather in skin oils and stretch mark cream.
Love you guys. Would you please please please do a video on aging hands? Would love to see what over-the-counter options are good, and also procedures!
Have you guys looked into the Droplette device? They claim to have decreased the size of collagen so that it can penetrate the skin without the need for needling. Would love to hear your opinion on that.
I’ve never heard of that device. I’ll have to check it out! I’d be interested to hear their thoughts too! The brand Numbuzin has No.4 Collagen 73% Pudding Serum and they say they used collagen small enough to penetrate the skin in it. I don’t believe it at all! 😂
@@terry1090 not surprising. Only molecules 5000 daltons or less can penetrate the skin, and collagen is HUGE (like 15,000-50,000 daltons). The Numbuzin product they claimed it had collagen that was guess what - exactly 5000 daltons. Funny how they could supposedly do that when literally nobody else has done it, yet weren’t charging a crap ton of money for it 😂 I liked a lot of Numbuzin products prior to that, but that straight up lying just really turned me off of the brand 😔
Not a fan of dermarollers too UNTIL my husband tried the Banisher 2.0, a dermastamp that's easier to use since u can just stamp on the problem areas (scars and avoid active acne). He's been using this CONSISTENTLY for 5 yrs.. now his skin is way better than mine. Less problematic.. not acne-prone anymore.. not high maintenance 🥹
My esthetician has micro needles my scars from total knee replacement and it is the best money I have spent. The cord like scars are gone and I can finally kneel. My TKRs were done in 2018 and I started micro needling in 2020.
I've just done my first M8 microneedling at home. 4 Days later, a lot of my facial lines have already started softening. I'm very excited about it, I've done the soft exfoliation today and my skin feels so rejuvenated that I already feel it was money well spent. The money I spent for the device and needles is less than a salon equivalent treatment and I had full control over the depth and pain levels that I could tolerate with a numbing cream. I've had dermarolling done in a salon before, it was not bad, but I didn't seen the same result as I do now with microneedling - I would suggest dermarollers for larger areas such as stretch marks and hair regrowth. The secret to both of these is a good serum. Do not settle for less when you select the serum that you are going to use as you only get a chance to microneedle once a month and the serum will do the majority of the work for the weeks in between. I also bought nano-needles to use once a week between the microneedling treatments and can't wait to start that. I have to wait for a mask, these things are so popular, it is sold out, but I believe that will speed up the rejuvenation process.
I did this 3 months running and had zero results. a lot of money spent for nothing. Will specify that this was PRP injection s rather than micro needling. Having g that do e professionally gave me a "glow" for a co pany Christmas party that was amazing!
Hi Doctors! I’m super looking forward to the episode of microneedling with radio frequency! I just started this procedure for acne scars and have already seen some results from one go and would love to learn more ☺️
I had my second micro needling done today in office. They used numbing cream but it still hurts a lot. It’s worth the pain. It didn’t hurt as much as it did the first session and she went deeper the second session. I think I knew what I was getting myself into. I’m going for a third and then will get a medium depth chemical peel a month after for polish my results.
The numbing cream may not have been on long enough. You should let them know the last session hurt a lot. For me, I need at least 45 mins to an hour for the numbing cream to take effect.
I had my 2nd 3 days ago. The first one I was very anxious. The 2nd I knew what to expect, but it hurt more than the first time. I felt every bit of it. They used numbing cream both times. Also both times I’ve been very thirsty after the treatment. I mentioned this to the esthetician and she said it’s not a “side effect” from the treatment, but same thing happened after the second....I had to drink a lot of water, I was so dehydrated. 🤷♀️
I can listen to you two all day, very informative and fun to watch. 2 questions: 1)why co2 laser is not for darker skin tone ? 2) I heard about the Potenza Microneedling. Is it a new kind of Microneedling? What are the differences between the Potenza and the regular Microneedling you touched on this video?
Instead of using a dermapen, which has weak motor run by a battery, I use a product from Czech Republic with a strong magnet that has a plug. It's called derminator. I used to have a dermapen-like device before for microneedling of the scalp and it was very painful due to the fact that the needles rested in the skin for too long as a result of the weak motor. With the other thing it's a difference like day and night!
Thanks very informative. I am a 61 year old white male going through a late midlife crises, and I am scheduled for my 1st session of RF Microneedling tomorrow. $650 Canadian 😱
You should always clean derma-roller with alcohol or another sterilizing solution before and after use. Not just rinsing it with water. If you actually pierce the skin, you don't want anything on that derma roller that can lead to infection. How did you not add this in flashing red letters??
Thank you for lead in comment re: “I’m a little to dark for CO2 laser”. Agree with the comment on video of microneedle vs. microderm vs. laser. I would add please do a video on recommendations pro /con for dark skin (e.g. scars with face lifts, CO2 laser vs US, filler, for laxity ect… with aging)
I have a micro needling pen that I use at home and it came with two fresh needles and obviously you can replace the needle heads. I think it's much easier to keep it sanitary. The needle link goes from 25 to 2.0. I've only used it once but although it was painful, my skin healed very quickly. I think it's important to remind people to not use actives for a couple days and two consider their skin type. For instance sensitive skin may not be great for at home treatments.
Dermarolling safely: 1. Cleanse your skin thoroughly; 2. Clean your dermaroll, before and after, with alcohol 99,8%; 3. Don't reuse the same dermaroller more then 4 times. It will damage the needles and cut you, instead of puncturing (ideally, one time use); 4. Use it once a week, to give your skin time to heal (it's enough); 5. For your face, 0,5mm. Scalp, up to 1,5mm. Body, up to 2mm (always start with lower lenght first); 6. Apply equal pressure while rolling. Don't need to press it like crazy. Go in all directions; 7. After use, the skin will be extremely sensible. Wait 12-24h before using products that could be aggressive to the skin; 8. After use and wait time, make sure to use something that will protect your skin (moisterizer, sunscreen etc); 9. If used on your face or scalp, do it at night, so you can make the best of it; 10. For topical minoxidil users, you can skip it on the day of your dermarolling;
Nice to hear your opinions on the subject but would have liked more specifics. For example: how do you cleanse the skin (should you use alcohol); how deep can you go before you need numbing cream; what type of skincare ingredients should you use or avoid microneedling with? If you say that a procedure can be done at home then we need more info on how it can be done at home safely.
How about microneedle under eye patches, they're single use and have microneedles made of some form of crystallised hylaronic acid. I wanna know if they're worth the price, I've been using some and seem to have had good results so far but it's still early days
Doctors, please cover red light therapy and retinol, also microcurrent devices and retinol. If I use nueface may I put tretinoin at night?! What about red light, if I use it for few minutes, may I still apply tretinoin as my final step in night routine? Im using gua sha currently morning and evening, and tretinoin every night. Saw great feedback on nueface and other "something", interesting electric devices, and would like to incorporate for great skin throughout aging, but read u should not combine those. Also we r going to invest into big red light panel, don't know if it's safe, who to trust... I'm 39, female, normal skin, some melasma, overall very healthy skin, SPF for last 3 years, tretinoin for a year. Please, share ur brain, thank u🤗
It does work, I used it on myself 2.5mm to 3mm, ton of bleeding everytime, now my acne scars have improved dramatically (80% improvement I'd say), but absolutely need numbing cream. Better result than doing fraxel which I'd done 6 sessions of prior.

How do you clean it now?

I was planning to buy Dr. Pen. But I am worried to use it at home.

Dermaroller also works perfectly.

I liveeee for microneedling. Glad to see derms not immediately shut it down. I always suggest people get it done first if they are nervous, so they can get a feel for it and see a professional do it.
What device do u use ?
I cannot believe I came across this video. Super informative and even better by real dermatologists. Thank you guys 😊
Basically you are saying these guys are fakes?
I did microneedlig with prp for my acne scars and with one session my scars are barely visible. It really made a difference in my skin and my confidence. Can't wait to get another treatment in.
Hi Tina, my dermatologist suggest me microneedling with prp today. Is it worth it ?
Is was hurting?
Ça m’intéresse aussi , qu’apporte vraiment le prp?
What is prp? I got a microneedling device for scars on my body. It’s a thicker area of skin than the face so I need any help I can get.
I’ve done PRP Micro-needling as well. Definitely works and will continue to do 1 treatment a year for maintenance.
Ooh which device!

Perfect timing! Literally about to leave for my microneedling appointment!
Swear you guys are reading my mind, because I just finished my first microneedling treatment. My tech was excellent and even though I’ll need more sessions to reach my goals, I already see a slight improvement in skin smoothness.

@@makahragayle8973 Hi, Just curious, did they say the results for acne scars would be permanent after completing a certain number of sessions?
@@consultant2b my derm recommended at least 3 consecutive sessions to really see any major results for my scars. The first treatment gave me about 15% improvement in my skin texture, but I’m only about 2.5 weeks post treatment so I’m not sure if it will last.

I had great results from microneedling . My hyperpigmentation was gone after 2 sessions. It has smoothed the texture of my skin as well.

What I can say is MAKE SURE you COMPLETELY remove any numbing cream. I did microneedling no problem until I decided to just wipe off the numbing cream one time, had a HUGE reaction, red face for days, didn’t recover for months. Even now I think my skin is worse than before the treatment
One time I forgot to get the numbing cream off my chest and I had welts all over. My face look great but I definitely had to wear a turtle neck.
you mean completely removing numbing cream before microneedling? regardless, I recommend not even using numbing cream at all.
What's the time to see a visible growth?
I don’t think most hairdressers are able to do a treatment that punctures the skin like microneedling. I think it’s outside the scope.

Very cool.

Daisy
Great advice!!

How did it turn out?!!!
Where did you get ur pen from?
How were your results?
How big were your scars?
I love micro needling, but I'd never do it at home, due to the fact of having a massive infection reaction. Plus, I really enjoy visiting my dermatologist 💖
Ive had six done professionally and I absolutely love it. It's extremely painful but man does it work.
What does micro needling work with second-degree burns mainly to the forest where the scars are thick and lumpy?
I did not have that much pain at all ! The numbing cream helps alot ! Going for my 3 rd session next week! I am impressed !
Only use Gin Amber dermarollers and I love her channel, very detailed. This is great for people that can't afford going to see a pro.
The banana part convinced me......

How do you like the Qure stamp?
@@Sure_Sir yes you should avoid any actives/acids when microneedling
It's the endorphins that elevate your mood. Same thing happens when you get a tattoo. :-)
Hi, if you don’t mine where did you purchase your pen? Thx
My question also
Hi Doctors🙂. What is your view about at home/ self Laser hair removal devices? How effective is laser hair removal? Benefits and side effects. Thanks in advance 🙂
Would love them to do a video on this! Or even a series
May i know the cost around how much per visit
This means you could be encouraging premature aging’
Dr. Ben Johnson explains this best: “Forcing skin turnover will temporarily result in improved skin appearance, but with time will weaken the skin’s support structure, accelerating aging processes. Furthermore, the skin can recover only about 90 percent from its wounds, so those who continuously wound it are creating a permanent level of inflammation that, over time, leads to skin deterioration.”
I’ve had it done afew times and was quite happy with it and thought it was something I’d do forever but not so sure after reading the above.
Would be interested to hear anyone’s thoughts? Thank you
I would be very interested in the answer as well
My understanding of collagen is thart it's continuously produced and broken down throughout life.
I dont think so
Nah.
It has already been debunked.
This treatment is totally safe for clients with higher pigmentation on the Fitzpatrick scale.
My chocolate beauties love it. 🫶🏻❤️
I actually believe its the safest treatment for melanated ladies like us. I would avoid lasers at all costs... chemical peels only the lightest (even then the recocery time for me was 2 weeks from a light CP vs 24 hours recocery from Microneedling)
I had problems with hyperpigmentation after using it, I think you should try in a patch of skin before trying it on the face.

Angie gave it a negative review. (Angie Hot and Flashy)
@@terry1090 I did see that
@@terry1090 not surprising.
I was looking for a video on deema rollers and this is by far the best. Thank you!
Not a fan of dermarollers too UNTIL my husband tried the Banisher 2.0, a dermastamp that's easier to use since u can just stamp on the problem areas (scars and avoid active acne).

Which serum do you use while you do it? I have also brought M8😊
@@Andry838 I use the serums from Nimue or the Clarins double serum

I had my second micro needling done today in office. They used numbing cream but it still hurts a lot. It’s worth the pain. It didn’t hurt as much as it did the first session and she went deeper the second session. I think I knew what I was getting myself into. I’m going for a third and then will get a medium depth chemical peel a month after for polish my results.
The numbing cream may not have been on long enough. You should let them know the last session hurt a lot. For me, I need at least 45 mins to an hour for the numbing cream to take effect.
How deep did she go? I go next week she's doing 2 but now I'm nervous
I don’t recommend using numbing cream, because then the substance is going inside your skin as well.

You should always clean derma-roller with alcohol or another sterilizing solution before and after use. Not just rinsing it with water. If you actually pierce the skin, you don't want anything on that derma roller that can lead to infection. How did you not add this in flashing red letters??
I had keratos pilaris, and micro needling literally removed it completely!
Really?
What products did you use alongside?

Im going to a professional to have my microneedling done for the first time. Im glad I watched this.
Can’t you just soak the tips and alcohol to sterilize them again instead of having to use a new one each time?
I believe the needles are hallow so cleaning into the hallow is extremely difficult. Getting an infection would be detracting from the purpose.
What is the safest skin care to use with this product?
How soon can microneedling a scar begin? Stellar channel; thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dermarolling safely:
1. Cleanse your skin thoroughly;
2. Clean your dermaroll, before and after, with alcohol 99,8%;
3. Don't reuse the same dermaroller more then 4 times. It will damage the needles and cut you, instead of puncturing (ideally, one time use);
4. Use it once a week, to give your skin time to heal (it's enough);
5. For your face, 0,5mm. Scalp, up to 1,5mm. Body, up to 2mm (always start with lower lenght first);
6. Apply equal pressure while rolling. Don't need to press it like crazy. Go in all directions;
7. After use, the skin will be extremely sensible. Wait 12-24h before using products that could be aggressive to the skin;
8. After use and wait time, make sure to use something that will protect your skin (moisterizer, sunscreen etc);
9. If used on your face or scalp, do it at night, so you can make the best of it;
10. For topical minoxidil users, you can skip it on the day of your dermarolling;
Original dermaroller works for 4 months straigth or 16 sessions. Fake dermaroller works just one Time
@@HyperMegaversal No such thing exists, stop the BS. You can try that if you want, but you'll be risking damage to your scalp and hair follicles.
70% alcohol. You need some water in there or it doesn't work as effectively as anti microbial
So does this mean that patients with Fitzpatrick Type 3 and darker should not use microneedling to treat their skin problems?
Nice to hear your opinions on the subject but would have liked more specifics. For example: how do you cleanse the skin (should you use alcohol); how deep can you go before you need numbing cream; what type of skincare ingredients should you use or avoid microneedling with?
