Wow! I guess you can see from the many thank you comments how incredibly rare this information is and how happy we are to see ANYTHING besides canes, “discreet” underwear . orthopedic shoes and personal alert systems! Aging is a process and a gift..not an option. Enjoy that skin you have because it will change … as will your whole body. And your friends skin and bodies too! All those young influencers or those working in skin care companies, if they are lucky, will turn 40-50-60-70-80-90+, so I never ever understood why certain ages are not being represented on RUclips in general. This video is great, because it's the basics and it's every day self care that we can use to love and respect our amazing bodies and minds.
People make videos of what they know and the skin they have. You have to hunt for videos from older influencers and dermatologists who treat older patients--they're out there!

I was listening to the famous and beautiful Joan Collins talk about how she cares for her skin. She talks about how she moisturizes her face and neck often. She mentioned that when she is at home and not leaving the house that she applies a rich moisture cream to her face and neck every few hours. Furthermore, she mentioned that it can be anywhere from 3 or 4 times a day up to 7 or 8 times a day. That is one lady that is dedicated to her skin care.
I'm nearing 50 and I just have to say all of this is really great information. I've really started taking care of my skin in the past 3 years and noticed incredible results using a lot of the active ingredients that you guys have recommended. I have a product recommend that many people could benefit from. It's called Skin fix. Its a triple peptide barrier cream. It's rich and luscious. It's got those peptides you recommended, if you have a damaged barrier it will help to repair it. I just can't say enough about this product.
I'm semi- new to this skin care process..I just started using Olay retinol moisturizer cream at night...loving the results ...but still trying to fine tune my routine
As a 53 year old woman, I really appreciated this video. Not many content creators talk about those of us with a little age....aka...wisdom. I feel even better after watching this because I already do all of what you stated. I may have to try the copper peptide and give the vitamin c a rest to see if it makes a difference. Thanks again for a great video
The copper peptides from Biossance works really well.. I’ve gone through multiple bottles of it and love it. It plumped my skin up almost instantly.. I stopped using it for no apparent reason though. I need to work it back into my routine:) Though do be careful about using it with anything with lactic acid in it because it will interfere with each other. I’m surprised they didn’t mention that along with Vit C..
If that is you in your profile pic, you look incredible already! I need to ask what you use so far? I use copper peptides and have noticed a huge difference in my skin softness and hydration.
@sregan5415 that is me, thank you. I use niacinamide gelee face wash in the pm only. Water in the am. The evening I use a niacinamide serum, peptide serum, snail mucin, tretinoin and a thick moisturizer. I recently added the copper peptide as well. I also use an eye cream. I use lactic acid twice a week. The am is niacinamide, vitamin c, eye cream (I'm missing something) and SUNSCREEN!!
@@eiwansk your routine sounds ideal. Unfortunately I cant tolerate tretinoin and found out in the worst way (it gave me vitamin A toxicity), but aim to incorporate all the others you mention. Sadly I feel nothing will beat treat for anti-aging, but no hope in trying.
I'll be 70 next year, but people think I'm at least 20 yrs.younger. Even my doctor commented. He guessed (correctly) that it was due to lack of sun. I now use Cerave products to 'maintain' & like them.
Yes, avoiding sun can do that. Sunscreen and avoiding the sun as much as possible is the single greatest skin anti-aging measure you can take. I'm almost 50, people think I'm in my late 20's.
Finally!! I think I had like hundreds of women reply to my comment about menopausal skin care. My dermatologist highly recommends niacinamide oral supplements for me because I am fair skinned, blue-eyed and blonde. Any comment on that as a strategy for prevention of skin issues in menopausal women? Thanks guys 🤍
Anyways, that will do, im taking helliocare capsules and combo it with skin booster so the ingredients goes directly to the dermis, my doctor had a coctail of mixture there, well aside from the hyaluronic acid, he said he also got TA and niacinamide, they dont usually tell you some doctors they dont discuss these ingredients with you but i told him about my concerns and TA and niacinamide will help which also included in the skin boosters. I have other things but hope this helps.
@doctorly could you please do a video specifically on how to reduce and prevent wrinkles around the eyes? Is an eye cream/serum recommended? What kind? Should I be taking collagen powder too? Is there evidence-based solutions? Thank you!
I use the Tatcha rice polish daily, their silk serum plant based retinol. And when I'm very dry the indigo overnight repair. I'm 50 and love these products ❤
I have been using The Ordinary's Multi+peptide serum. I have sensitive skin and have had no problems. My skin feels very smooth and moist (if that makes sense). Love it!

This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro investor?
Thank you for the information. I conducted my own research and your advisor appears to be highly skilled and knowledgeable. I've sent her an email and arranged a phone call. Her expertise is impressive.

On topic of moisturizers, I tried La Roche Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer...not impressed. However, later tried Elf Pure Skin Moisturizer with oat milk, ceramides and niacinamide...game changer! If feels INCREDIBLE on the skin. I would assume the two should change price 🙂, works well with sunscreen, doesn't pill skincare. Great product.
I think there's something about oats. Long, long ago, I used to buy this oatmeal powder that a local deli (with a skin care section) imported from Switzerland. Very easy to make a paste... probably better for the environment with less packaging, less preservatives. Anyway it always made my face feel fantastic... back in my late teens and twenties. Oatmeal in a skin care product... very appealing to me.
I am 56 and after decades of oily acne prone skin I now have normal skin with a couple of dark age spots. At night I cleanse with Riversol foaming cleanser, cerave exfoliant, riversol anti aging serum, riversol moisturiser under my eyes and on my neck and riversol retinol as my last step. I don't moisturize my whole face as it doesnt need it. In the morning I just splash some warm water on my face then apply the ordinary buffet serum( i forget the new name), riversol moisturizer under my eyes and then riversol sunscreen. I find this routine super simple and very effective. My skin has never been smoother or softer and very radiant.

@@fastingleah2604 I personally found them more helpful than vitamin c, so it might be worth it! Copper peptides did more for wrinkles and elasticity, and vitamin c more for complexion so that might help you decide, depending on your concerns
My brain is swimming after watching this, because of the amount of information, fast talking, and multiple product recommendations. Thank you for the routine download. It really helps me get all this straight, but it's not broken down by what to do in the morning and what to do in the evening. I'll watch this video again to see if I missed something. I had to slow down the video, because you talk faster than I can process the info. Remember that some of us are new to the world of skin science and the ridiculous amount of products, products, products. I'm trying to narrow this down to the fewest products possible. I learn about hyarlaronic acid, etc., in one derm's video and, just when I think I've got it narrowed down, I'm told to try copper and exfoliate. Sheesh! I have Rosacea and have tried products that caused weeks-long painful flare ups. In your videos, please quickly note whether or not a person with sensitivities ought to try the products you recommend. For instance, is it okay to exfoliate if you have Rosacea? I waste a lot of money trying products that are not suitable for sensitive skin. Thanks!
Hey guys I have been watching you on and off for a few years and I have learned that diet and gravity are affecting our facial skin and body more than we realize. I am more vigilant these days about sticking with a scheduled routine and using products that will give me continued results from day to day .
I've used Retin A since my mid twenties. I'm 62 and don't have many wrinkles. For some reason my skin loves it, and it's never drying. I'm also on a bioidentical estrogen patch for health and skin benefits.
Nearly the same here! I started RetinA in my late 30s and never quit. My skin is firm, line free, and so very exfoliated at age 70. It even fools new doctors as to my age. RetinA lies for me! ❤😅
I started using Retin A for acne when I was 13, and I never stopped using it because I was afraid the acne would return. It became known in the late 1980s it was excellent for anti-aging, but I’ll be 54 next month, so I’ve been using it for about 41 years. I have no crows feet, and few wrinkles but nothing deep. I also use HRT, but honestly, I don’t see the results of it the way others do.
I have worked on simplifying my routine to save time and money. I use Cerave cleanser, Cerave Vitamin C and LaRoche Posay Toleraine Moisturizer with sunscreen in the morning every day. On days I am going to be outside, I use Avene's mineral sunscreen (light and not greasy or sticky)...in the evening I use Avene's Retrinal .5 and the LaRoche Posay Toleraine without sunscreen...after cleansing of course. Simple and does not break the bank. Love the results but now I am thinking of a Biossance splurge :) Seems like you two really like their brand as I also recall Dr. Shah raving about the Marine eye cream.
I shave my face for exfoliating. Easy peezy and no chemicals 😊 My daughter-in-law has followed to do the same and swears by it. I’ve used retinal for so many years. I’ve been told I don’t look my 62 years. Thank you for your awesome videos ❤
Love this! 40 years old and anticipating the changes to come (and hopefully get ahead of those changes). Would love a companion video on mature body skincare. Thank you!
Thank you so much for suggesting products as well as explaining the necessary steps! I always enjoy hearing about the science, but hate it when there are no product recommendations. You two are FABULOUS! I’m 70, but my 40 year old daughter in law, and 27 and 21 year old granddaughters are all followers.
I'm 42 years old and I've been consistently taking care of my skin for the last 10+ years. I appreciate you addressing anti-aging concerns from a natural perspective. Genetics play a role but there's other factors that contribute to healthy skin as we age - healthy diet & lifestyle, stress management, hydration and of course a good skincare routine. Thanks for a great video!
I am 48 and I just started tretinoin 0.025 I am so excited even though I have rosacea and sensitive skin I am not scared to use it , I started gradually and I am doing well with it and doing the sandwich effect on my face. thank you for the education we need more videos like these much love from Miami Florida 😘
Thank you ! Like so many that have commented I too am a women who has earned her white hair (67) - I do see a dermatologist once a year because I have "crappy Celtic skin" - prone to skin cancer - yes I use a sunscreen NOW, but when I was growing up, going to the beach...not sure that we reapplied the sunscreen nearly enough. SIGH - It is interesting though, I have NEVER thought to ask about a daily routine with my dermatologist - we do the skin check, handle any issues...done till next year. ALSO thank you for the print outs !!!! SO CONVENIENT.
You two are the best!!! Thank you for including a topic so useful for us “moldy oldies” 😂 Seriously, sometimes in life it feels like the younger generations are somehow always the most important. So incredibly refreshing to feel like my age group is being included! Appreciate this so very much.
Thank you for covering this topic. TimelessHA has a Matrixyl 3000 product and they are fragrance free and cruelty free. Everything I purchase for skin care must be cruelty free.
I use apple stem cells and snail mucous products I'm 54yrs old 😊 I also use red for wrinkles, blue for inflammation green for spots lights from Rejuven skin it has different settings 😊
Apple stem cells have only been used in vitro so far. And as an in vitro researcher of 30 odd years, I can tell you that it does not necessarily translate to an entire body. Usually doesn't even translate to an organ and sometimes not even a tissue. So if you're spending any real money for that I would not bother yet. It will be probably 10 years before they really know anything. Plus note that the Apple stem cell replaced on human stem cells. And putting them on the epidermis is definitely not the same. Not in the least.
Another great video from doctorly, .I think its wonderful how honest and realistic these guys are, and they are not afraid to show how they age as well. They give great videos on what you need and what you don't need. We can learn a lot from them. And it's great that they give great perspective on male and female skincare. And that you don't need to break the bank in order to get great skin
I’m 61 and my skin is not a bit dry. I’m oily and so much so, I feel gross and greasy at times. Thru u I heard about Paula’s choice bha exfoliate and I can’t thank you enough! I suffer from those little sebaceous bumps and have to have them removed often and this product has helped keep them at bay. I do use a good moisturizer because I know it helps but man-this old lady is here to say dry skin isn’t always something that happens w aging! 😂😂
Thank you so much. I always looked far younger than I was. But not any more. Ten years of cancer, a heart disease, COPD and a thyroidectomy as well as the meds I have to take have ruined my body and skin. I have been searching for a good skincare for years now. I will try your routine.
You are NOT alone in your journey. I completely agree with you and I have similar health issues along with several other health problems and it has been quite depressing to not recognize the person in the mirror! However, I'm NOT ready to give up and it sounds like you aren't either, so if you need a friend to chat with I'll be here! I am sending healthy vibes and healing hugs/prayers to you and yours! 🙏💌😃
Your videos are absolutely amazing! This one is was particularly great as I'm 56. The one thing I thought was missing is under eye care for mature skin. I have really dry skin under my eyes that make my lines appear worse than they could be. I would love to know products that combat this issue. Thanks for being there for all of us!
Thank you! My skin is unrecognizable from even 10 years ago so I appreciate this video. My biggest skincare concern is what plays nice together. I like that you suggest a routine of alternating retinol and exfoliation. I have sensitive skin and the Tula vitamin C burned my face so badly that I could barely touch it for 3 days. I haven’t gone back to vitamin C since that experience. If you could address skin sensitivities and what percentages of ingredients like Vit C are beginners strength, and maybe a routine for incorporating it, I would appreciate it. I’m always a little unsure of which ingredients mix and match.
I've had trouble with vitamin c too, but I've found the Timeless one really good and non irritating. I notice they've recently introduced a lower strength one too. I'd also recommend the Budget Dermatologist channel, she has some good advice on vit c since she's had problems with irritation as well.
Thanks so much for the focus on our aging skin. As an oily skin adult who's dry @ 68, I have had questions about the best routine for me now! I feel confident that I am doing the best for my skin!
Just turned 60 and STILL oily, at least 9-10 months of the year. I always use a very light moisturizer at night, but can only use one during the day when it’s very deep winter. 🤷♀️ But at least I don’t have many wrinkles! Lol
Adding Lactic Acid 10% to my The Ordinary reorder of my Argireline! Argireline is a product I'll use for the rest of my life. It's AMAZING on my 11s, or squint lines!
I was lucky enough to have a dear friend that worked for La Roche. She started me on their products in my mid 40s. I am 50 now and routinely get comments that I look to be in my early 40s. 😊
I have replayed this advice many times. So so helpful. I suffered with bad acne all my life and now in my 50’s still get pimples but with tones of dry skin so flaky. I have no idea how to deal with my new skin. Thank you so much for teaching me❤
You guys are just AWESOME! It's like going to see a dermatologist but online. You have no idea how much you have helped me. I've been a skincare junkie since I was a teenager and today, because of that I see the results. My skin has always been oily but of course, as I age, I see the difference, but I fight it because it's something I truly enjoy. Skincare for me is not a task but a pleasure. And I've had a routine for as long as I can remember. But I learn new things every day, thanks to your channel. Thank you!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I am 43 so thank you for this video, for making these videos not too long (20 min is perfect), and for mentioning affordable options that I can get here in México. Also, you both are a delight to watch 😍😘🤩
For many years now I've used Philosophy, When Hope Is Not Enough firming facial serum.I'm 71 years old,and always heard how peptides are good for mature skin.I've never seen any videos reviewing the Philosophy line of facial skin care products.Could you do one sometime? There are so many excellent products on the market now at reasonable prices, as I've seen in your videos. I want to make sure I'm spending my money on something that has the ingredients that work . Thanks for all the time and effort that you put into gathering the information we need to keep our skin at it's best for whatever age we are.

I have been taking care of my skin since was many younger. I am 67 and my fiancé is 45 but he I am looks beautiful. The difference in our age doesn’t matter to him
For moisturizer as I have super sensitive and rosaceous skin, I have found the Olay regenerous 24-hour peptide cream to work fabulously. There is a fragrance free version. There's also a night version with retinol in it. I have had dry skin most of my life and then had a thyroid condition which makes my skin look like an alligator. The Olay 24-hour peptide one does not irritate my skin nor does it give me milia and I am very prone to those. A lot of these products the guys are talking about give me milia. A lot of milia... Even on my neck and chest. So I just stick to the one that doesn't bother me.
In four weeks I will turn 75. Growing up when I did there was no sunscreen and I grew up in Texas, thus sunburn! I did start using it when I worked for a dermatologist in 1978. I try to take care of my skin now but the effects of all that original sunburn has taken a toll. Thanks for your videos for mature skincare.

Help with skin care routine for black skin
Apply Rose hip seed oil nightly for moisturizer. Thank me later
I use the vitamin c in my a.m. routine in the copper peptides in my p.m. routine.
Would love a video on neck firming!
I'll be 70 next year, but people think I'm at least 20 yrs.younger. Even my
doctor commented. He guessed (correctly) that it was due to lack of sun.
I now use Cerave products to 'maintain' & like them.
I doubt if they are being truthful
Yes, avoiding sun can do that. Sunscreen and avoiding the sun as much as possible is the single greatest skin anti-aging measure you can take.
I'm almost 50, people think I'm in my late 20's.
Finally!! I think I had like hundreds of women reply to my comment about menopausal skin care. My dermatologist highly recommends niacinamide oral supplements for me because I am fair skinned, blue-eyed and blonde. Any comment on that as a strategy for prevention of skin issues in menopausal women? Thanks guys 🤍

Hello dear, but what is your concern, dry skin, melasma?
Anyways, that will do, im taking helliocare capsules and combo it with skin booster so the ingredients goes directly to the dermis, my doctor had a coctail of mixture there, well aside from the hyaluronic acid, he said he also got TA and niacinamide, they dont usually tell you some doctors they dont discuss these ingredients with you but i told him about my concerns and TA and niacinamide will help which also included in the skin boosters. I have other things but hope this helps.
Do you mean nicotinamide oral?
How many milligrams did he recommend?
Love this...but, I find myself allergic to everything. Can you please make a video like this for hypersensitive or sensitive skin too Thank You!!! ❤
@doctorly could you please do a video specifically on how to reduce and prevent wrinkles around the eyes? Is an eye cream/serum recommended? What kind? Should I be taking collagen powder too? Is there evidence-based solutions? Thank you!
I am now in my 40's so I really appreciate these videos.
Love it!

Same here! I’m 59 now but had to start on Tamoxifen in my 40s.
Same here.
Tamoxifen from my thirties. I didn’t stand much of a chance! The state of me I tell you!
I also totally hated the la roche posay face moisturizer. It was the first product in my life I had a bad reaction to.
Perfectly clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much from this 70 year old California girl… you can imagine the damage. Thanks again!
Amen sister! Most things you see go up to advice if you’re 40-50. Well it gets worse at 70+ and we still want to look as good as ee can!!

Please give us a routine for those of us, 50+, for our neck and decolletage.

Thanks!
This.
Yes.
So much, this!
Amen! My head is buzzing from so much information. I’ll go back and watch again, and again, to figure out a routine.
Yes I almost stopped watching bc of the head spin.
Hey guys I have been watching you on and off for a few years and I have learned that diet and gravity are affecting our facial skin and body more than we realize. I am more vigilant these days about sticking with a scheduled routine and using products that will give me continued results from day to day .
This was so succinct and helpful, with great recommendations. Thank you!
Where do you get patches from ?
@@mrss4225 They are prescription.
Getting older is a privilege denied to many

I shave my face for exfoliating. Easy peezy and no chemicals 😊 My daughter-in-law has followed to do the same and swears by it.

Thank you for including a topic so useful for us “moldy oldies” 😂

I'd also recommend the Budget Dermatologist channel, she has some good advice on vit c since she's had problems with irritation as well.
vanicream has a vitamin C serum for sensitive skin that's really nice. i have very sensitive skin and have found it quite gentle.
Lol
I just downloaded the skincare routine. So impressed with this channel.

Thank you, Thank you for simplifying how to take care of my skin. I was so overwhelmed today when I went to Sephora.
