I hate new towels because they are too fluffy. Whenever I buy new ones, I first wash them multiple times before using, and still hate them and go back to the old ones, often throwing new ones to back to wash right after they've been wash, so they'd just wear out a bit or something. I can't explain it, but there is something weird about the way new towels feel and I don't like it.
With newer softer clay masks, you're not supposed to wait till it fully dries. You can wipe them after the recommended time. They make them extra hydrating so it doesn't strip you too much.
I live in Canada and regularly use La Roche Posay and Vichy, which are pretty popular and dermatologically recommended for sensitive skin. It always surprises me how much the rest of the world sleeps on it!
Avene is my favourite. Also yall they have this new moisturizing spf 30 fill and plump up fine lines. I actually put it over my vitamin c and it matifies it
I absolutely LOVE The Clean Towels. I 100% can tell a difference from not using a regular towel. It’s just not convenient to do that much laundry. And I don’t have that many towels or room to store them. I have very oily skin and acne prone skin. These towels are great!!!!!!!
Aquaphor with SPF for lips is the most amazing balm I've ever used, and I've used nearly all of them. I use it before bed and my lips have never been softer. It's so much better than Laneige, which I've also used.
I am a huge supporter of the clean skin club towels. They are convenient like Dr Shah says I keep them right by my sink, but they have also helped with my acne big time. I am that one person like Dr Maxfield said doesn’t wash their towels as often as maybe you should, but I find that normal towels are really abrasive now after using the clean skin club towels.
I starting using baby wash cloths the are in a pack of 5 for 8 bucks. I use 1 clean one every day. It’s helped me with my skin. It’s not harsh on the skin and helps my skin clear up.
I bought a lot of the white "flour sack" towels, I use a fresh one every day. They dry quick which is nice when they are waiting to be washed and dry fast in the dryer 😉
I love using the Avene spray water when my skin is particularly dry and I want an extra boost of water before applying moisturiser. It’s more the fine, even mist that appeals to me.
Both you are the reason why my skin looks amazing, I have followed all of your guidance to help my skin age gracefully. By the way, I have all of Remedy's products. Hyperpigmentation and acne scars from decades of acne have disappeared, and my pores are becoming less visible. Dr. Shah, you are my skin hero! ❤
Just curious - how long did it take for your hyperpigmentation to fade away to almost nothing? I’ve a fairly bad case of melasma and while I’m trying something else right now, I definitely want to hear about how this one works in the real world, per se. 🙂
@@rachelh9550 I found PCA Skin pigment gel to be effective against an age spot on my hand and one on my face. Used it most every night for about six months, then stopped when life got in the way. The spots still faded. With this summer's sun, I notice the one on my hand is creeping back, so I'm using the gel again. It's expensive--shop for a good price. One bottle will last a very long time.
Best lip treatment is by a medical grade line called Revision... hands down.. Its pricier but actually works.. and it's thick like a sleeping mask only use at night
I love it as am overnight mask then the exfoliating in the morning. With a cotton pad or those lip exfoliating brush. Sometimes you can get rolls of dead skin like a mini version of the korean Italian towels.
You don’t need a spray water but nothing feels like a spray of water mist on your face before slapping on your cream! Spray is convenient, there is no water dripping around my mirror.
I use the disposable towels, but not as a "dry off" towel. My sink does not make it easy for me to splash water on my face for rinsing off facial wash. I found that these towels work wonderfully as washcloths! I will grab a new one every two to three days. They dry quickly and hold up extremely well under water use. I have used the Clean Skin ones and found that other brands (at a cheaper price) work just as well. I have saved myself from washing washcloths constantly, putting leftover detergent on my face and made my life so much easier!! These towels have quickly slid over into an almost "need" category for me.....
I am 56 and feel like I have enough life experience to say.. Laneige was one and done for me. I found it irritating but my hub used up my residue and requested a reorder.. I reordered for him and continued purchasing because he enjoys using it. I am more functional. I learned clay mask was best used only in on my t zone through my twenties and still in summer in my fifties. Thank you, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome, and origins. I have ALWAYS enjoyed a mineral water spritz since I made my own purchasing decisions. I have bought the Evian, avene, and la roche posay for 30 years.
In France there are many thermal spa towns where people go for medical treatment. Your doctor prescribes you a course of treatment, usually a couple of weeks, at one of these thermal spas! Every thermal spring produces water with a different mineral profile and you are sent to the town with the spa that is best suited to treat your particular ailment. Et voilà 💁🏻♀️
Oui ! 🤩I love their reaction to it. It's so funny and so interesting! I'd never realized that thermal water was so specific to France (and Europe), and that people from other parts of the world could find it gimmicky. 😄
@@Vi-gk9ov same :D Romania here, we are so used to treatments at thermal spas prescribed by doctors for all sorts of ailments that I never thought of it being specific to us / Europe
Bet that two week vacation lounging around in warm water a lot in charming small French towns is a good treatment even if there is nothing special about the water.
Wow!! That is amazing! Reason # 1,536 I wish I lived in Europe: the water and those spas! Reason #1,537: doctors who prescribe treatments that are not purely chemicals/medicines. One day I shall retire to Europe and live the best life. Thank you for sharing, I'm adding this to my wish list for the first trip I take to Europe.

The Clean Skin Club towels have been game-changing for me. As a pet owner with a dog and two cats, I can tell you that somehow, pet hair gets EVERYWHERE, even on fresh-from-the-dryer towels. I HATE drying my face and the having to pick off pet hair after applying my skincare. There is nothing like a guaranteed clean, hair-free towel for washing and drying my face. I love them.
So true - I have 2 cats and every time after drying my face with even a freshly washed towel, my eyelashes and lips are full of cat hair... Too bad we don't have this type of paper towel over here (Hungary)...
Yes, I’m glad you dissed the junky Laniege lip mask, I’m so sick of influencers singing it’s praises. Love your Remedy lip balm! Thanks for your humor too!
Went to S store, wanted to smell the vanilla and it so RANCID. The S Lady threw it away and open another one, I said long it has been there, a week to 10 days. And yes seems everybody sticks their fingers in their displays and then to the lips. Gross
I personally love it. But to each it's own, right? Not everyone has to like all the same products. For me the lanaige sleeping mask did a lot of good. I fell a little over 10 years ago, and they had to stitch my lip(which they normally don't do because they heal great on it's own) because like a banana it was peeled of almost completely. And ever since I've had a scar, discolouration and a continuous scab that just wouldn't go away. Since I use this, it has gotten so much better! The scar obviously won't go away. But it is less visible and therefore so is the discolouration. And the scab hasn't returned. So personally I am happy. But I understand that every skin works differently and it's just not for everyone.
I actually use the clean towels as a wash cloth and use a new one almost every time I wash my face. Doing this alone has significantly reduced my breakouts
Same. I don’t think I was fully getting my cleansers off and I was getting such badly clogged pores. These have helped big time (especially as I have extremely hard water that was also irritating my skin, so switched to washing/rinsing with distilled water using spray bottles/bowls-it’s a wild time around here lol)
Thank you for acknowledging limonene as an irritant! It’s in so many “natural“ skincare products. Would love a video on common irritants in skincare products.
I use the Spring Water spray often before applying the first product in my skincare routine. After cleansing my face or get out of the shower, my face dries pretty quickly, and I have dry skin, so it has been helpful to me. Sometimes I spray my legs, feet and torso later in the day then reapply moisturizer if I'm at home, because my skin year around is EXTREMELY dry.
I would love to see a video on how to reverse sun damage and how to know if there is any sun damage (I used tanning beds regularily a few years ago) - thanks for making all these videos btw ☺️
I use the thermal water spray from La Roche-Posay for the exact purpose you mentioned last: It's really nice to have a bit of moisture on before applying hyaluronic acid, and it also feels softer, cooler and fresher than tap water. It was really helpful to me because I had an eye surgery and couldn't have water running into my eyes in the first week. This spray was a great substitution.
16:26 I went to the hot springs in Glenwood Springs Colorado and after a day in the “pool” not only had my KP disappear 100% the next day, but any of the older KP bumps I’d scratched or picked that had been left scabbed and irritated were healed. And I have bad KP that no product has ever managed to control. My derm said it was the sulfur but I’ve tried sulfur creams since then and didn’t get the same results 🤷♀️ 19:21 love this brand 😍 their Super Bounce hydrating mask is the most luxurious feeling product I’ve ever used and it ✨works✨
I went to Glenwood Springs last year, and since then I do notice that my KP has lessened. I didn't realize that was one of the benefits of the mineral water.
@@Sapna-157 I felt like it did. There's no documentation that claims it fixes it, but soaking in the heat and 15 kinds of minerals really feels good on my skin. I can't promise it will fix kp, but it feels good regardless.
Thermal water (which is different of spring water) as a medicine has been used all over Europe for centuries ;-) I know you don't have this in the US so it's a little harder for you to believe in it, but it's very common here (and not just in France) ;-)
I just started using towels from The Clean Skin Club 2 weeks ago. I am not going back lol. I absolutely love them. What I do is save them after I use them. I do lots of furniture flipping and I keep the towels to use for my clean ups. Such as using them to clean up smudged paint among other things. So for me they serve a dual purpose. They are so strong and I like the fact I can keep them for other uses like my furniture/craft projects.
Wait wait wait wait!! Could you please do a video for Arizonans!?!?!? I would love to know basic routine/products for living in Arizona (especially southern Arizona) and like boujee routine with extra products to make your skin dewy/moisturized. And sunscreen recommendations! Products/skincare beauty to pay attention to that could exacerbate sun damage, or what not to use. Overall skin concerns with sun damage and what to pay attention to. How often should we go to the dermatologist, when should we screen for skin cancer, etc. Treating sunburns . Etc. I feel like we often get lumped into the general public, but it is sooo hot and sooo dry, that it feels like you can never keep up with moisturizing, and so whatever works for the public, doesn’t always work for us. 🙏🙏
I had a really bad heat reaction on my armpits when I traveled to Ecuador. The doctor spray that thermal water and it was a huge relief for me the entire trip.
Thanks for another great video. As an Aussie fan of yours, I would love to see a video of your reviews on Australian skincare brands and our spfs as well.
Could you all do a video or short addressing how skincare affects tattoos (if at all)? Sunscreen is obviously important but I've seen concern (without substantiation) about the potential negative affects of using retinoids on tattoos and was hoping to get a more authoritative opinion on that. Thanks!
Yes, would love to know this too! The only articles I've seen are mainly from tattoo artists themselves, who seem to think retinoic acid works more like an exfoliant and "thins the skin" which obviously isn't the case 🤦🏼♀️ I hope they see your comment and give some real research backed information 😊
For the vichy/la roche posay/etc spray, i have to say that in zfrance weve had this sprays for every brand related to water (even drinkable water) because its what we use when we go to the beach. We dodnt use it (back in the timr anyway) for any skincare benefits but only to refresh ourselves when it was hot, or cool down our skins. I remember we always had all those bottles in the fridge before a trip to the beach ! 😊

it's not psychological effects. We have loads of Themae Spring Waters in Italy as well. Each one has specific properties. There are some spring waters coming from parts of Alps and Appennines, or some of them near Vulcans, and they have much different properties. Like San Pellegrino water, or Acqua Panna water. They come from specific springs, they have specific minerals who interact with you body differently if you drink them. Same for the Thermae Spring Waters. Some of them are very sulfuric, and people who live near them lives longer. So there are definitely properties attached to them, and proven scientific studies. :)
I use the bamboo face cloths for travel…many hotels in Europe don’t always have wash cloths and many hotels use harsh chemicals to disinfect towels, so these cloths are fabulous to take on trips. Great videos.
Bamboo fabric is incredibly soft, so if you find bamboo fabric towels, they’ll be more sustainable than those disposable ones. I have bamboo fabric lounge pants that are amazing. You have to wash them in a mesh washer bag to protect the fabric, but that’s easy to do.
I always look forward to your videos and they never disappoint. Could you make one on the impact of what we eat on our skin instead of what we put on it just once? Thank you and take good care.
I would LOVE it if you guys could review the Clarins skincare line. It's soooo expensive!! For me anyway, but man, their products feel so good! and for products that have fragrance in them, it's pretty mild and smells so nice anyway. The products I'm most curious to hear your opinions on are their double-serum with turmeric, and their multi-intensive day cream. Are these worth the money?
Eye creams: do you need them or just want them? Also, we know eyes and lips are the sensitive areas of the face, but how do they compare to each other? can i use an eye cream to moisturize my lips as well? Or the other way around? Would love to hear your thoughts!
You don’t really need eye cream if your face cream isn’t causing issues, but if you use a face cream with fragrance or strong actives that irritate your eyes, you might want an eye cream. You could also just buy a basic unscented moisturiser to use around your eyes for cheaper than a tiny eye cream. Depends entirely on the ingredients, like definitely don’t use that Laneige lip mask around your eyes. Like he said, a lot of lip products are quite bad and wouldn’t be good around the eyes, but I would be okay with the Remedy lip products around my eyes. Generally, they have different needs with active ingredients, but with basic unscented moisturiser you could probably use it for both.
@@JasminMiettunen i use eye cream and an eye serum only because using regular moisturizer causes a lot of milia under my eyes. I've noticed an almost immediate improvement in the amount of milia i get since I've stopped using my face moisturizer on my under eyes and started using a retinal serum and a moisturizing eye cream. but for someone who doesn't have any specific under eye concerns they want to target like darkness, hyperpigmentation, puffiness etc. I'd say just use your moisturizer, *unless* it has active ingredients like exfoliant acids and specifically says not to use around the eyes.
I just finished watching their video Vaseline Hacks. Apparently Vaseline or any brand of petroleum jelly, can be used both on eyes as protection during exfoliation or as moisturizer and on your lips, and face
I bought a batch of cotton baby towels for my face. 10 towels from honest company. Amazing investment. I have a special laundry bag to throw used ones in and then throw ‘em in the wash when low. If it’s okay for a baby’s bum then it’s okay for my face :)
I like to use The Clean Skin Towels after microneedling. As the skin has been ‘poked’ I like to think I’m not adding any bacteria. Using everyday is quite expensive and probably not great for our environment. Learn so much from you both. Thankyou.
I love using my laneige sleep mask overnight. I never lick my lips and I wake up with super plump soft and supple lips. I only use it once or twice a week. No reaction, so I guess I’m one of the lucky ones?
I love these videos! The Docs are like kids at Christmas opening up these products and experimenting with them and we get some good information about stuff to avoid 😆
I like how Dr. Shah seems so quick and excited to try everything LOL. Dr. Maxfield seems a little more hesitant. My fave lip product is Dermoplasmine with calendula. It has the texture and look of vaseline but no petroleum in it at all. It's hard to get and I have to order it from New London Pharmacy. But when I run out, I plan to give Remedy a try.
The Laneige sleeping mask dries my lips out sooooo much. Trader Joe’s does one as a dupe that I don’t have the same issue with, but I think that one has more oils compared to the Laneige.

Re lip mask -- a hydrating serum on the lips is super-helpful for me -- a drop of Amino Acids +B5 OR Squalane from The Ordinary on dry lips is super helpful for me, and it's already on my shelf (been doing it for yeas, before they rolled out their lip product with this ingredient). I also love a bead of Egyptian Magic used as lip balm at night -- lips are still soft the next day, and the ingredients are super-simple and clean.

Could you do a video on eyelid or EYE AREA skincare? Are warm compresses good? Are eyelid washes/scrubs helpful? How often should I remove and replace fake eyelashes? What are the best eye creams that won't clog eyelash folicles?
To be fair, I have tried a lot of lip balms over the years and gave up, but a simple sleeping mask from Laneige has worked better than any. Even just a few times a week. Don't know the science behind it, but unable to let this go.
Same! I used Chapstick for YEARS then one day my lips started to break out so I had to give up my addiction ( yes my lips did poorly when I didnt use it regularly) to Chapstick. I struggled to find anything that worked but then I found Laneige lip mask. I'm not "addicted" meaning I can go days without it and my lips are not chapped nor do I lick them like crazy 😅.....not giving it up but i do love Remedy lip treatment too
Dr. Maxfield's skin looked awesome after that clay mask - nice and dewy and vibrant! I wonder if they do a body mask as well! What a great find that product was! Well done!
I have a basket with a stack of washcloths and I use a new one every single time I wash my face. My kids have the same thing and they have their own colors. Once we did this, the acne cleared up and so did the colds.
Thank you, thank you for addressing lip irritation caused by products! It drives me crazy when influencers talk endlessly about products making their lips dry when in reality, their lips are reacting to something(s) in the product. A good lip product will leave your lips feeling better, not "dry" or "chapped."

Amazing video you guys!!! We need more of this. THE INDUSTRY IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOMER . Thank you for being here for us !
My favorite part of the sleeping lip mask is I’ve never once used it overnight; I just used it like a regular lip balm 😂
This is a product I need. Both day and night
I use it day and overnight
Too expensive and does very little for chapped lips. Aquafor is the best for me personally
You don’t need a spray water but nothing feels like a spray of water mist on your face before slapping on your cream! Spray is convenient, there is no water dripping around my mirror.
The water calms down my rashes and eczema so I’ll never stop using it
I use the disposable towels, but not as a "dry off" towel.
@@pzh3334 not every country in Europe its like this, Europe is a continent. I live in Switzerland and that doesnt exist here but anyway life is better than in most countries.
Ditto! They're a must for me, but so expensive. I'm looking a good quality dupe RN.
💯 it really helped clear and improve my skin. No breakout since I started using them.
I like them too
So true - I have 2 cats and every time after drying my face with even a freshly washed towel, my eyelashes and lips are full of cat hair... Too bad we don't have this type of paper towel over here (Hungary)...
@@Reensberrythey have the same ones cheaper on Amazon!!

Yes, I’m glad you dissed the junky Laniege lip mask, I’m so sick of influencers singing it’s praises.
Love your Remedy lip balm!
Thanks for your humor too!
Yep, did nothing for me.
Lawless and Ilia lip masks are both better than Laneige and Vaseline lip therapy in the teeny tiny tub is shockingly good too.
Went to S store, wanted to smell the vanilla and it so RANCID. The S Lady threw it away and open another one, I said long it has been there, a week to 10 days. And yes seems everybody sticks their fingers in their displays and then to the lips. Gross
I thought it was fine but much better options exist. I have heard good things about that remedy lip balm. I must check it out.
Laniege mask was very helpful for me when my lips was extra dry and no one lip balm couldn’t fix my lips.
Same for me. The only lip product that works and doesn’t irritate my sensitive lips.
I love your personalities. It's fun to watch the two of you interact with one another and with the products. Always great content.
I use the Spring Water spray often before applying the first product in my skincare routine. After cleansing my face or get out of the shower, my face dries pretty quickly, and I have dry skin, so it has been helpful to me. Sometimes I spray my legs, feet and torso later in the day then reapply moisturizer if I'm at home, because my skin year around is EXTREMELY dry.
my favorites! ❤ i’m so grateful for you two. your authenticity and transparency has always been unmatched! thank you always
“Anything else is extra” as Dr. Shah starts applying lip balm 😂

Have you recovered from your surgery now? ❤
@@littlemy1773: Yes, it took one week for the incision to heel and now a month later, there is only a slight dryness but I can use skincare as usual.
The Avene one is sooooo nice I love it for after shaving my legs and face so sooothing!
That sand & sky clay mask is def above & beyond the rest, the best mask I’ve ever used on my dry-dehydrated skin
My derm said it was the sulfur but I’ve tried sulfur creams since then and didn’t get the same results 🤷♀️
19:21 love this brand 😍 their Super Bounce hydrating mask is the most luxurious feeling product I’ve ever used and it ✨works✨
I went to Glenwood Springs last year, and since then I do notice that my KP has lessened. I didn't realize that was one of the benefits of the mineral water.
So basically you are saying thermal water do help in kp?

Thermal water (which is different of spring water) as a medicine has been used all over Europe for centuries ;-) I know you don't have this in the US so it's a little harder for you to believe in it, but it's very common here (and not just in France) ;-)
oh Hélène 🩷
I just started using towels from The Clean Skin Club 2 weeks ago. I am not going back lol. I absolutely love them. What I do is save them after I use them. I do lots of furniture flipping and I keep the towels to use for my clean ups. Such as using them to clean up smudged paint among other things. So for me they serve a dual purpose. They are so strong and I like the fact I can keep them for other uses like my furniture/craft projects.
I also reuse them! They are great for cleaning up anything!

These guys are so real talking about their towels 😂. Also love the advice they give.
Could you all do a video or short addressing how skincare affects tattoos (if at all)? Sunscreen is obviously important but I've seen concern (without substantiation) about the potential negative affects of using retinoids on tattoos and was hoping to get a more authoritative opinion on that. Thanks!
Agreed! Or how retinol body creams affect tattoos!
Thanks for being unbiased and objective that’s why you both have so many fans, well deserved. We need the truth and not brainwashed by commercials and buy things we don’t need 😂
Hey guys! Love your content, just wondering if you could do a series on Asian Skin care brands, ingredients, and trends (ex: double cleansing). Seeing that they have been trending recently, it would be amazing to have better knowledge on these. THANK YOU
I really like the Clean Skin Club towels. I’ve used them to help clean my face, and of course to dry my face. They’re fantastic! Sometimes, I cut them in half if I don’t need a full towel.
I cut mine too! They seemed too big otherwise!
Best sleep lip mask is anything with petrolatum, I’ve been using Cerave healing ointment for a long time. And I haven’t experienced dry lips for…well I don’t even remember😂
Same, though I use plain vaseline
I’m allergic to petrolatum, so for me and others like me, that’s a definite no.

I’ve used spray thermal water because I don’t sweat and I was given a can of it. I’m guilty of using my facecloth 4-5 times before laundering them. I’m going to try the disposable towels. Love your videos. I’m an esthetician and I tell my clients to watch your videos for all the great info.
it's not psychological effects. :)
Interesting

I started to use the face towels and my rosacea went down significantly! I love those towels!!!!
Eye creams: do you need them or just want them?
Also, we know eyes and lips are the sensitive areas of the face, but how do they compare to each other? can i use an eye cream to moisturize my lips as well? Or the other way around? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I use my eye cream around my lips....
You two make me smile and laugh. Love your humor (and, of course, your knowledge about skincare!)
Thankyou.
I think the clean towels would be great for travel. Usually, hotels have the traditional terry cloth towels, that are rough.
I highly recommend the La roche spray water after getting micro-needling, the healing process is much quicker as you spray it throughout the day.
I love using my laneige sleep mask overnight. I never lick my lips and I wake up with super plump soft and supple lips. I only use it once or twice a week. No reaction, so I guess I’m one of the lucky ones?

It has the texture and look of vaseline but no petroleum in it at all. It's hard to get and I have to order it from New London Pharmacy. But when I run out, I plan to give Remedy a try.
The Laneige sleeping mask dries my lips out sooooo much. Trader Joe’s does one as a dupe that I don’t have the same issue with, but I think that one has more oils compared to the Laneige.

Doctors, can you tell us more about prebiotic and probiotics in skincare and skin microbiome. Is that really necessary?

I also love a bead of Egyptian Magic used as lip balm at night -- lips are still soft the next day, and the ingredients are super-simple and clean.
I must try thank you
Ah I loved seeing you test that clay mask! I used to use it often, but since I started Tretinoin, I’m afraid it would be too exfoliating.
My favourite skin Doctors 🥰 you guys really help my acne journey, thank you.
FYI Trader Joe’s has a wonderful lip mask for $5.99, that works beautifully. A better dupe in my opinion than the fancy brands

I'm not "addicted" meaning I can go days without it and my lips are not chapped nor do I lick them like crazy 😅.....not giving it up but i do love Remedy lip treatment too
Same, I use it every night and it is the only one that keeps my lips healthy.
Dr. Maxfield's skin looked awesome after that clay mask - nice and dewy and vibrant! I wonder if they do a body mask as well! What a great find that product was! Well done!
I just dab my face dry with a normal paper towel. If you aren’t rubbing your face they work just fine.
Same!
By all means do what's best for you. I just find using them to be wasteful and worry about the small fibers stuck on my face afterwards.
Thermal waters are enormously helpful for rosacea flares. I consider it very important and carry a small can in my purse or car at all times. My Derm turned me onto it
