    I enjoy gua sha as a relaxing ritual and face massage. I do find it eases some of the tension I can carry in my face muscles and reduces puffiness. I think the more mind blowing results that people see probably are as a result of putting more time and effort into their skin care over all, rather than the gua sha itself. If you've decided to do a gua sha routine, you've probably gone down the skin care rabbit hole and are diligently following an am/pm routine and wearing sunscreen too, so an improvement in the appearance of your skin is likely due to just taking care of it generally.

    • @kslmt
      @kslmt 3 года назад +113

      Yes, you can have hypertonic face muscles, but the skin and other tissues on the face is much more delicate than, say, on the back. Even the facial muscles are very small, and gua sha works best on larger muscles. If I were trying to release hypertonic muscles in the face, I would likely use trigger point therapy, pin and stretch techniques or simply light to medium Swedish strokes.

    The second video reminds me of a gold rule that my dermatologist once told me and that I follow like law: home-use products should NEVER burn and not even tingle. I had bad acne and due to many online videos I assumed that the burning from my treatment (given by my dermatologist) was normal (though it hurted like hell), but the acne worsened. Went again and the treatment was too strong for me (he didn't know because I never told him it burned assuming it wasn't relevant). Because of that misinformation from the internet I completely disbalanced (and kinda chemicaly burned) my skin, and took me two years to recover.

    • @ZeratronXellos
      @ZeratronXellos 2 года назад +14

      Yeah but that product from the ordinary is pretty strong and if you’re not used to it it may tingle a bit but it’s still a good product to use if you respect the indications. First time I used it for only 6 minutes as it was tingling a bit and second time I increased to 8 minutes with less discomfort. Also I don’t use it more than once a week and it’s a really good product for exfoliation your skin.

    I haven't changed anything in my skincare routine except I started incorporating ice twice a day (morning & evening) a couple of months ago so I'm confident to say that it worked! My skin doesn't get oily during the day AT ALL like it used to and the pores on my cheeks have visibly shrunken. Also, apart from washing my face with cold water, ice in the morning serves as my coffee so to say, it wakes me up especially when I use it behind my ears. Furthermore, it also helps my skin to better absorb products I put on after treating it with ice. Personally, I find it a nice addition to my skincare routine and I don't feel as great when I skip it.

      Head, brow and sinus massage is extremely helpful when suffering headaches or migraines. It can help decrease a high blood pressure and stimulate blood flow which helps with relaxation and reduce pain. Using an essential oil, mixed in a carrier oil, can also help. I love lavender because I find it calming but many people also like peppermint or other mint because it can be relaxing but also give a little stimulating effect which many enjoy.

      Also have some decent melanin and believe it or not, human skin is human skin and individual genetics vary, even within the same family. All the things that would help any human with a skin type similar to yours would help yours as well. So, oily, combo/oily, combo/dry or dry, and acne, rosacea, irritated, sensitive or normal.
      As for under eye, could be leaking capillaries or excess melanin. Either way, not a whole lot to do about it.

      here's a cheap way:
      do the korean double cleanse thingy. every day especially before bed. also, make yourself some fenugreek or flax gel. and apply it under your moisturizer. it looks gross (like snot), but lemme tell ya', it does everything. grows hair, removes dark spots, tightens wrinkles, heals cuts. you name it.
      keep up the cleansing routine, use the slimy gel, and moisturize.
      you're skin will improve in a week. maybe less.
      promise.💫

    Gua Sha on your face should be used in between firm and gentle always with oil (never pull the skin) and yes it has improved my skin and toned up my face. No it cannot change your nose or jaw shape and you can use common-garden spoons as well. Used in conjunction with facail massage, exercise and yoga, it improved my jowls and sagging skin!There is something in it.

    • @MichelleBlessing

      @@user-ze8bm3mz4d yes but dark cirles could be due to simple genes or problems with your adrenal glands. Have you been under a lot of stress for quite a while? It is the same old answer, a change in what you eat (that will help jowls and double chin) and if at all possible, a lifestyle change. Self care isn't just about oils, creams and facial exercises, it is about what you eat and the stress you are under. Talking helps and therapists/counselors work on a sliding scale if someone is having say financial problems. Your skin is one of the first warning signs your body gives you to possible future health problems. Go plantbased, no processed food, no sugar or sweetners...exercise even just a 30 min walk every day. I know how difficult it is but there is HUGE empathy and support out there for everyone.
