I’m 64. Yes, this is a very recent photo. I have one word: Sunscreen 🧴 everyday since I was 32 years old-back in 1992. I was a Resource Specialist Teacher. I always asked students to bring sunscreen to school and if I happen to have a group before recess, I allowed time for them to put it on before recess. Hands always need washing at school. They washed up first, applied sunscreen, and afterwards went outside for recess. I tried to time it so the sunscreen went on about 15 minutes before they went outside. I taught at a school that was by the Atlantic Ocean. We were essentially across the meandering “highway”-a two lane road-from the water. The students were almost always in or near the water. This is why I made sure to actively remind them of sunscreen. When I was in my 30s, I started using a couple of Paula’s Choice products and Neutrogena retinol-that’s it. I used to use Ombrélle sunscreen for kids. Now, I use Avéne kids sunscreen, in the pump. It spreads very easily. For some reason, I need sunscreen with more titanium dioxide in them-otherwise, sunscreen irritates my eyes. Sometimes, I layer a couple of different sunscreens or I apply the Avéne tinted sunscreen on top of the Avéne kids sunscreen. I have never had a major surgical treatment or Botox. I had milia under my eyes lasered off. I’m disabled now, so it’s a challenge doing regular cleanup tasks. That’s when the milia started. My under eyes used to look dark, but once the milia were removed (I had a lot of them, but you could only see them when I pulled my skin back), my undereye area looked bright!! The lesson there is no matter how fatigued you are, wash off that sunscreen.
@@alisha1377 just to complement your comment, our eating habits are incredibly important too. When doctors say "you are what you eat" they are not joking. Exercise the brain, exercise the body, eat well, sleep well, moisturize! 😂
I’m so happy to say that I’m 38 and have the best skin of my life. Zero lines or wrinkles, lips still lump, no breakouts ever, no rosacea, no nothing. Ageing era lol. You are in your prime my doctor told me and that most ruined their bodies in their 20s to get pregnant, stressed out, neglecting their health mentally and physically because they felt pressure and wanted to follow the crowd. I didn't. I still look the same I did at 20. 10 years, if you are careful does not age you. Love this video. I literally turned 30 and 3 months later my skin FLIPPEDDDD THE LID! I’m 33 now and have gotten control over it thank Christ. But I now have hormonal acne. And my pores and weird and I have sunspots which is my fault obviously (16 years of lifeguarding and tanning) and then there’s the lovely bags under my eyes which are puffy instead of sunk in which is preferred for me but still so annoying. And oddly my skin is SO DRY. Which I think was making my skin break out. I’m tryna get control over the dryness now. My whole life I had beautiful clear no problem skin. Not dry not oily, no breakouts, so… it was huge for me to say the least. Took a huge toll on my confidence:/
Same here! During the pandemic, my skin freaked out and it took months for me to heal. I've dealt with acne since I was a teenager. I'll be 35 in a few months and still working on the dark spots from old acne scars. I've taken my overall health more seriously after turning 30
In my case, I'll be 30 in october, and my skin started freaking out. All my life, I had a clear perfect skin. Now i have very oily skin, obvious pores and acne. And this change happened in a short period. From this trailer, I'm so excited for actually being 30
Same! But in my 30s, I’ve experienced that using birth control can alter your skin cycles when you use it. Due to tapping into the flow of hormones, it can cause ongoing inflammation, cystic acne, eczema, patches of discoloration, and hyper dryness. I’m planning on discontinuing using any kind and just getting a basal body thermometer.
You both have aged like fine wine 😊 I love that you acknowledge your mistakes and also good to call it healthy aging. I’m in my mid 20s, just started retinoid (adapalene because I have acne) and a vit C serum, and of course I am disciplined with my sunscreen. Let’s hope my skin thanks me later.
I’m 35 and starting my skincare after retiring from the Marine Corps since I was 17… at least I started sunscreen this year. 😮💨 two babies later and now my skin is completely different.
It seemed like my skin changed overnight when I turned 35 but that's also when Covid hit, so a lot of variables other than aging. Also thank you for sharing some of your concerns bc your skin looks FLAWLESS.
I was actually just searching for one today but I've yet to see a "dry skin routine" from you guys. I know we're in the thick of summer but please don't forget us dry, crusty people!!
I've been using DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for nearly thirty years. It cleans without irritation like nothing else I have ever tried. I first ordered from a catalog, sent to Raleigh from San Francisco, before online ordering was available. I try many, many products, but I have always kept this one in use.
So much to do with genetics but introducing vitamin c, LED red light mask, RETINOL, botox twice a year and my skin at 36 never looked better - thanks mainly to your guidance!!❤
I finally went to Derm to create an informed medically licensed foundation for skincare and guidance in my 30s heading to 40s. I'm amazingly genetically blessed, with no wrinkles or age spots yet. When my skin is healthy only hyperpigmentation is my major problem. Right now, I am actively going through a breakout, I got exposed at work in the ED, so now antibiotics for 2mos. But my Dermatologist started me with hormonal blockage treatment regimen to also help with acne vulgaris. I am an AVID user of SPF and collagen supplement daily now with resetting spf spray every 2hrs throughout the day. Much of my problem was sun damage and avitaminosis; my iron, vit D, vit E, and vit B were low. I have 6 months of work to do, but I am ready for this journey. Thank you Dermatology. This RN appreciates you.
I turned 30 a couple of months ago. I started taking collagen daily, but I also have PCOS and I also take other supplements. Taking them together does overwhelm my stomach (I also have IBS). But daily SPF has been a must for me for years. I also got my first grey hair at 19 (it starts early in my family) and I'm all for embracing it! There are some things that are in my control and other things aren't. Also, I know some people can't afford a lot of these things (e.g Botox or a personal trainer). Rome wasn't built in a day, but do what you can and if anything, be kind to yourself ❤
Thank you for this video. I started getting hormonal acne in my 30s and it really has messed with my confidence. 1st I worked on my gut health & started to take my workouts serious but still kept breaking out. I feel like you 2 gave me the final piece to the puzzle that I needed to solve my problem. 😊
Thank you again for another informative video! I’ve never commented before, but (like many) I follow and watch your videos religiously and have for some time. I love the range of topics and information shared across your library of videos and I appreciate your honesty and transparency. Love you both! You guys are absolutely amazing! 🤩
I've started using la roche posay tinted sunscreen and I set it with supergoop powdered sunscreen instead of using a foundation and setting powder. My skin honestly looks way better.
I am very glad as someone who is 36 that I seem to be doing all of the right things for my skin. My skin has gone on a journey the past few years and I have finally found a routine that seems to work great. I also had no idea that getting rosacea in your 30s was very normal I just sort of developed it in my early 30s and had no idea why when I never had it before.
This video hit home, as I'm in my mid 30s as well😆. But I appreciate how simply you guys put together day and night routines. People can make these seem so complicated! Super helpful
I am 32 and started skincare way back when I was about 13, as I always always obsessed with my skin and used to go for regular facials and things. I then got into Japanese skincare when I was 18, as i went to Japan to study and loved it, so bought tons there and went there almost every year. My skin has gotten a lot better than before, but I have been consistent for over a decade
Please do a video on your procedures!!! I'm in my early 30's and am not looking for anything now but good Lord I know I want them in my future. You guys look amazing and fully completely natural and that's all I want! Grow older, hotter and weirder is all I strive for 😅
I’m 34 and today I went to get my eyebrows tattooed. While under bright white lights to take before and after photos I was SHOCKED to see how much sun damage and hyperpigmentation I could see under the skin on my face, which usually I don’t notice under normal lights. And this is even with my current skin routine of using a daily vitamin C moisturiser, alpha arbutin and retinol every single night, and gentle cleanser and sunscreen every day in the morning. Where I live I’m exposed to lots of sunshine every single day - I’m never going outside again 😭 thanks for the video Dr Shah and Maxfield! Love the constant reminders to really take care of your skin going into your 30s.
I am in my 30s! Thanks for the video. I think my skin has looked its best ever, in my experience thanks to following advice from you guys. Hair loss is another story, though 😒
Could you make a video about Progressive Macular Hypomelanosis? I've had it since childhood, and it hasn't gone away despite multiple treatments. A detailed explanation of causes, symptoms, and treatments would be very helpful.
I am 48 and my diet, exercise and skincare are better than when I was 28. A lot of it is more knowledge but it is also having access to more money to pay for derm visits and medications, an at-home gym and healthier and better food.
Oh my young dahlings! ❤ Just you wait….im in my 70’s now and WOW those years pass quickly! I always use sunscreen….even on a rainy day when I’m staying indoors all day. Dark spots? I have no idea what that is. Thank you sunscreen. Please keep up all your charm, good humor and sound advice on your videos! 👍🏻
I’m 23 right now and have been doing diligent skincare for 10 years+ due to my severe acne in my teenage years. I had dermatologist intervention because it was unmanageable and now I am taking birth control which is helping a bit with balancing things out. Overall my skin is a lot more stable than before, and even when I break out, it’s really not super insane. I’m glad to be part of the journey here though, been using sunscreen and tretinoin (prescribed) religiously for over 10 years and I won’t stop until I drop!
Love videos like this - SO informative. I’m now 37 and noticing looking way more tired around my eyes (having two young kids may have something to do with it too 😂). I’d love to see a video about treatments such as Botox, fillers, skin boosters. What the differences are, who would benefit from what (although I know it’s a very personal choice). It feels like we’re now in a time where people speak much more openly about the ‘tweakments’ they get.
The biossance eye cream is worth every damn penny. Idk what sorcery is in that bottle but the difference in under eye baggage is noticeable within a day of use!

Unglaublich 😢
Thanks for this I’m 33 now Got my first grey hair this year and freaked out 😂 Started my skincare journey last year and not forgetting the sunscreen everyday Can’t afford much but am doing my best
For those interested, I apply henna mixed with coffee beans, an egg yolk and white vinegar (thanks ami, her recipe ❤) on my hair to cover greys, not perfect and there's a strong reddish colour but helps, God bless to all on this better aging journey! 😊
When I was a teenager, my skin was dull and oily. Living in the province in the Philippines, I don't have much access to quality skin care products. I even thought Mary Kay was the epitome of skin care and I was very happy to use it. When I moved to the city and started working, I can now afford other skin care products and I'm very excited every pay day to go to the store and browse all brand new products. Fast forward to my 30's, I suddenly have hormonal acne. I went to a dermatologist and after a couple of months my skin is almost 100% perfect. Now I don't enjoy skin care as I used to because I don't feel the same thrill as before whenever I'm trying new products.
I love that you mentioned the Niche Beauty Theramid product! They are so huge in Germany, but I never heard anyone in a US video talking about it! I love their Ceramide Treatment, it's so high concentrated.
My acne disappeared in my 30s and start seeing Sebaceous Hyperplasia… Tretinoin helped controlled it for weight management intermittent fasting helps so much…. Now I m just doing it to maintain body fat at the 14-15% mark
So glad Dr Maxfield mentioned surfing! In my mid 30s… I know I can elevate my routine as a surfer, I’m just nervous to try chemicals because of the amount of sun im exposed to. I cake my zinc out in sessions and use dch cleanser once I’m out. I use vitamin c serum and sunscreen for the day and vitamin c serum and a moisturizer for night, halp! My skin is dry and not sure I’m doing the right routine. Thank you for this video!
Hi guys. I’ve noticed the same thing that Dr. Shah mentioned regarding to using sunscreen everyday. First I thought I just imagined it all, but honestly the chemical ones can keep my rosacea prone skin under control, no flare ups, keeping my skin cool to the touch even when I walk in direct sunshine, and when I wash it off my skin looks better, smooth texture and soft. It’s like a miracle. I mainly use J-beauty products, the one I have now is Biore Skin Aqua.
I had the same skincare routines for years and the closer I got to 30 the less it was working for my skin 🙃 now I am lost with my skincare again 😂 thanks for helping us out!!
I’m 36 and only really now stepping up with my skincare routine. Last few years I’ve been neglecting myself in general and since my teenage years I was always fairly ambivalent about skin care. Just from moisturising properly I’ve noticed a decent improvement but all the things you’ve mentioned I notice on my skin. I just hope I’ve not left things too long and I’m beyond salvaging. 😅
This is so relatable! Especially the weight part LMAO turning 39 by end of the year and the title and thumbnail made me click in a heartbeat! Loved the simple easy to understand feature and benefit part!!

I’m 64, I lived in Australia since I was 7, best thing I learned at 30 was sunscreen every single day to every exposed area, my skin is really good and I have hardly any sun damage according to my derm please please please sunscreen everyday, I’ve just started Botox this year.
Naked Sundays is my holy grail for the 3 or 4 years….I use the Mineral Collagen Glow SPF 50 + as my daily facial sunscreen, with age my skin sensitivity has increased and a tinted mineral sunscreen is a better choice for me. I’m so In love with this sunscreen that I buy the bundle pack of 3 jumbo tubes at a time, Ultraviolette make fabulous sunscreens, this is my daughters go to favourite brand. Bondi Sands (the fragrance free one is a Dr Dray favourite as well), Ego Sunsense was my go to brand for probably 20 years they make a really nice daily facial sunscreen and really big pump bottles of body sunscreen. Invisible Zinc was my first favourite tinted mineral sunscreen. These are my personal favourites Michelle Wong, Lab Muffin is a fabulous source of information on Australian sunscreens. FYI my skin is normal to dry sensitive and I can’t tolerate any fragrance in skincare since menopause.
Im in my early 30s and started using the L’oreal Revitalift eye serum as I observed crows feet are starting to show.. and after a few weeks, i started to notice that the appearance of crows feet lessened especially when i smile. Highly recommended!!
just turned 37, sunscreen religiously since 22, micro current, LED therapy, derma rolling, active skincare ingredients. my skin is like a peeled egg ^^
Niche Beauty Lab is from Spain and in the EU the maximum concentration for azelaic acid is 15%. Meaning everything from 16% and above requires a prescription. That's how they can sell that product. Whereas Nirth American companies have a limitbof 10%.
What’s your current skincare routine for the both actually use consistently throughout the year/across seasons without just promoting your remedy line? Don’t get me wrong remedy is amazing but it doesn’t need the plug cause you both have such. Great following & credibility as is.

I love growing up with you guys from my mid twenties to early thirties ❤
My skin secret in my late 30s is being black. Seriously I keep a high antioxidant diet but yeah being black also helps. Love you guys.
I’m 35 and starting my skincare after retiring from the Marine Corps since I was 17… at least I started sunscreen this year. 😮💨 two babies later and now my skin is completely different.
Turning 30 in a week. Already wearing SPF daily and on retinol. Thank you for the info ❤
Just turned 30 today!!
Condolences.
Happy birthday! 30s are fun, better than 20s cuz you aren't into stupid stuff anymore
@@ElijsDima😂😂
Congratulations !! 30 still look 20, 30 is great! Enjoy
Enjoy 🎉
It seemed like my skin changed overnight when I turned 35 but that's also when Covid hit, so a lot of variables other than aging.
Also thank you for sharing some of your concerns bc your skin looks FLAWLESS.
I was actually just searching for one today but I've yet to see a "dry skin routine" from you guys. I know we're in the thick of summer but please don't forget us dry, crusty people!!
Girl I thought I was the only one😅
also very dry
I've been using DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for nearly thirty years. It cleans without irritation like nothing else I have ever tried. I first ordered from a catalog, sent to Raleigh from San Francisco, before online ordering was available. I try many, many products, but I have always kept this one in use.
So much to do with genetics but introducing vitamin c, LED red light mask, RETINOL, botox twice a year and my skin at 36 never looked better - thanks mainly to your guidance!!❤
Oh and sunscreen, acid exfoliation and peptides 😍
Which red light mask do you use? And how do you recommend doing the vitamin c?
@@CM-wf2uo dr Dennis gros. Use vit c every morning pre sunscreen 🤗
Red light therapy rocks my world tbh
What was the final piece 😮?
Thank you again for another informative video! I’ve never commented before, but (like many) I follow and watch your videos religiously and have for some time. I love the range of topics and information shared across your library of videos and I appreciate your honesty and transparency. Love you both! You guys are absolutely amazing! 🤩
I've started using la roche posay tinted sunscreen and I set it with supergoop powdered sunscreen instead of using a foundation and setting powder. My skin honestly looks way better.
It’s supposed to be ok for sensitive skin but whenever i give it another go, it reacts with mine and my skin becomes a red itchy mess 😭😭
@@teekay4256 ugh I'm so sorry, I know the feeling 🥺 I struggle with body washes.
Need one of these videos for 40s. Under eye circles and bags came in full force in this decade.
38 here! Retinol, azelaic acid and sunscreen for the win
My whole family waited in their late 30s to procreate, focusing on their health, career, traveling and freedom. We all look healthy feel great while others seem jealous and envious. Yes wear sunscreen, yes eat well and exercise. Follow the basics which most idiots fail to retain younger.
How I wish I was in my thirties again, I would sure do everything differently! Love y’all!❤️
What would you do differently
@@drecool85 Sunscreen was not a big thing when I was you & now that I’m more educated due to RUclips’s like this I would take much better care of my skin & face! 😊
Unglaublich 😢
Thanks for this
I’m 33 now
Got my first grey hair this year and freaked out 😂
Started my skincare journey last year and not forgetting the sunscreen everyday
Can’t afford much but am doing my best
For those interested, I apply henna mixed with coffee beans, an egg yolk and white vinegar (thanks ami, her recipe ❤) on my hair to cover greys, not perfect and there's a strong reddish colour but helps, God bless to all on this better aging journey! 😊
Awesome....plz load skincare for 70....thnx
U can use henna and indigo powder as hair dye.. works wonders and its natural
I just turned 30 on 21 of June, so this video comes just at the right time 🫶🏼
Finally! Age specific content! Love this as a 33 year old!!!!!!❤
When I was a teenager, my skin was dull and oily.
We need a video on the best procedures to get done at 30 + ☺️
Yes best procedures for a " natural look"
I love that you mentioned the Niche Beauty Theramid product! They are so huge in Germany, but I never heard anyone in a US video talking about it! I love their Ceramide Treatment, it's so high concentrated.
My acne disappeared in my 30s and start seeing Sebaceous Hyperplasia… Tretinoin helped controlled it
for weight management intermittent fasting helps so much…. Now I m just doing it to maintain body fat at the 14-15% mark
I'm sure y'all knew I turn 29 today so thank you for getting my skin in gear a year in advance 😂🙌🏾💌
34 here…
Peptides, retinol, SPF +50

I’m 36 and only really now stepping up with my skincare routine. Last few years I’ve been neglecting myself in general and since my teenage years I was always fairly ambivalent about skin care.
Just from moisturising properly I’ve noticed a decent improvement but all the things you’ve mentioned I notice on my skin. I just hope I’ve not left things too long and I’m beyond salvaging. 😅
Its never too late to Begin, enjoy the journey.
This is so relatable! Especially the weight part LMAO turning 39 by end of the year and the title and thumbnail made me click in a heartbeat! Loved the simple easy to understand feature and benefit part!!
Love love love this! Thank you guys! I just turned 30 in march my skin is changing I’m definitely noticing it. My partner is in his mid 30s and his is changing also. We getting old 😭😩
i just love watching you guys and going along the journey. i'm turning 40-1!
Got in an accident when I was 11, I've worn sunscreen everyday of my life since then. Just turned 31, I look younger than my younger brother (28 yo) 😂 sunscreen is everything
It’s crazy how much my skin is changing at 32.. the last couple of years has shown me How much less forgiving my skin is 😭
Loved this overview! Super helpful 🙌🏽🥂
I’m 64, I lived in Australia since I was 7, best thing I learned at 30 was sunscreen every single day to every exposed area, my skin is really good and I have hardly any sun damage according to my derm please please please sunscreen everyday, I’ve just started Botox this year.
What are some aussie sunscreens you‘d recommend?
Naked Sundays is my holy grail for the 3 or 4 years….I use the Mineral Collagen Glow SPF 50 + as my daily facial sunscreen, with age my skin sensitivity has increased and a tinted mineral sunscreen is a better choice for me. I’m so
In love with this sunscreen that I buy the bundle pack of 3 jumbo tubes at a time, Ultraviolette make fabulous sunscreens, this is my daughters go to favourite brand.
Bondi Sands (the fragrance free one is a Dr Dray favourite as well), Ego Sunsense was my go to brand for probably 20 years they make a really nice daily facial sunscreen and really big pump
bottles of body sunscreen.
You guys should do a rate my skincare routine video. Fans send their day and night routine and basic info about their skin and you both rate it

34 here, I use cleanser, retinol, moisturizer and spf. Never had such beautiful skin, thanks to tretinoin.
I hope one day they will talk about pigmentation around mouth and on the sides of face.. or hyperpigmentation in general and how to get rid of them…
I'm in the category of hormonal acne after I turned 30. I feel like I was lied to about acne being a teenage problem.

just turned 37, sunscreen religiously since 22, micro current, LED therapy, derma rolling, active skincare ingredients. my skin is like a peeled egg ^^
Henna as hair colour may work for those who are sensitive/allergic to dye for their hair 😊
