If drinking more water is not causing pain, then drink 12 to 14 glasses of water in a day. But it is better to see your condition, because more water will cause pain if it doesn't go out from kidney through urine.

Hey! You are right, please seek a second opinion for your condition if the pain has been going on for too long. Do know that pain on those body parts mentioned can be due to other factors such as swollen gut or even a muscle pull, aside from kidney stones. To confirm on your condition, your doctor should run tests as he/she sees fit. Example tests for kidney stones include 24-hour urine collection, blood test and imaging like CT scan or ultrasound will allow a clearer outlook of your condition.
Go to ER and get a CT Scan...did could a kidney stones, it could be an obstruction or a appendicitis.

You will definitely know the difference, I spent a week in ICU and am about to have my 3rd surgery to blast the stones. It's a unbelievable pain but doesn't always come with burning when you pee.

What about the ONLY symptom being a stabbing pain in right side? No burning while urinating, and no frequent urinating. I can't tell if it's a kidney or liver, but I had emergency gallbladder removal in the beginning of 2023, can't afford to see a doctor. 22 years of type 1 juvenile diabetes.
Just curious if you got an answer? I have the same problem and I had my gallbladder out like 9 years ago. The pain in my side has gotten worse over the last couple of years on and off. Right now it’s bad.

@@MrsLou-hx7uz no, the pain isn’t constant, it’s very infrequent actually. And it’s not as bad as it was before. I went through a spell of drinking with my husband and we both stopped drinking about 2 months ago and neither one of us have really had the pain in our side since stopping. I’m pretty sure it’s a liver tinge of pain though. It’s ALWAYS on the right side, where my liver was hurting before my surgery. It was an infection that came from a UTI I didn’t know I had. It had spread to my liver and then gallbladder, which is why I had the emergency surgery. It was the WORST pain and experience in my life!
@@Marco-r8n it hadn’t spread to my gallbladder until the very end once I’d gotten to the hospital and admitted after two trips to the ER. I couldn’t hold ANYTHING down, not even a sip of water. I would take a sip and immediately have to vomit. They tried to give me oral medication for the nausea and vomiting at first, despite those symptoms (Promethazine) and FINALLY admitted me after one Indian doctor pressed on me and figured it out immediately that it was my liver. The infection had spread all the way there and my gallbladder. They asked if I wanted the surgery, what was I going to say, “NO”?! It was an emergency procedure! Anyway, they sent me home fate I woke up and the symptoms stopped right away. I had so much energy the next day, I spent hours in the garden. Then I paid for that the next day lol! It felt like I’d been hit by a truck. And I was able to eat GOOD food right away afterwards too.
Is it safe to try to pass a kidney stone of 2.7mm?

Namasté Doctor 🙏🏻 am from Mauritius 🇲🇺🙏🏻 & I wanna share something, I recently had these feelings & I went to my doctor & I did an eco on me & there was no stones found in my kidneys, everything is good in my kidneys but my gallbladder has become abit bigger like 5inches & am still experiencing such things but am not getting any burning sensation while peeing & I also have panic disorder 😢

Hey there, not all kidney stones require medications. Treatment for kidney stones varies, depending on stone type, size and cause.
For small stones with no major symptoms, they can be resolved by drinking more water to flush out the stones and if the pain is mild, it can be managed by taking painkillers. There are other medications but it is best to consult a doctor on the course of action to take should there be a need.
If symptoms are more severe like pink urine, indicating blood in urine, then procedures may be required.
So my friend was masterbating for over 2 days straight and stopped because he says there was sudden sharp pain. He felt around and he noticed there are two hard lumps near the head of his peen about the size of match heads. Does it sound like stones? The pain comes at least four times a day and its sharp like theres glass in there. He's concerned.

@@manjurali7052 U may have passed the kidney stone already. That’s why it isn’t visible in the ultrasound scan. But ultrasound is not perfect and may miss some kidney stones.
A CT scan is more accurate. But ct Scans are done only if it’s needed. Because of the radiation.

hello good afternoon doc , I don't know how to explain this but a while ago in the middle of the night my lower rib was very painful and when I'm breathing the its painful when i feel it but i don't have shortness of breath and couple of minutes I'm getting up of my bed because it's very painful the after a seconds almost a minute i think the pain is gone i thought is like a normal because of the weather but after 2 days the pain is getting back again in the middle of the night also and a couple a minutes it's gone after i getting up but in the morning i noticed that my rib on the right side the back rib is painful when I'm going to bend my right rib maybe the pain is in the 4,5 rib but when other exercise does not affected to bend my rib is doesn't painful the painful is when I'm going to bend my right side rib and now its 5 days since my symptoms start. My urine test results showed there are rbc present. After doing an ultrasound, there isn’t any stones present. But it still burns a bit when I urinate and slight pain below my left ribcage at the back. Hmmm

Drink plenty of water daily. This will help make sure that you urinate frequently to avoid any build up of calcium or uric acid.
Depending on your kidney stone type, the diet may differ. Do get a clearer idea from your doctor on what type of stone you have.
1. Calcium oxalate stones: Avoid peanuts, spinach, chocolate and sweet potatoes as they are high in oxalates. Eat and drink calcium foods such as milk, yogurt, and some cheese and oxalate-rich foods together during a meal. Don't reduce the calcium in your diet. Instead, reduce sodium in your diet. Also, avoid high intake of vitamin C. High amounts of 1g/day or more may produce more oxalate in the body.
2. Uric acid stones: Cut down on high-purine foods like red meat, organ meats, beer/alcoholic beverages, sardines, anchovies and sugary foods and drinks. Increase vegetables and fruits, whole grains intake.

I always have back pain, but my lower back hurts, but I have no blood or pain when I pee, I don’t have an urge to pee, I also haven’t been throwing up, is there a possibility of it being a kidney stone? Hi! Back pain can be caused by other conditions aside kidney stone e.g. prolonged sitting and slouching. If you had persistent back pain for days to weeks, it would be best for you to consult a neighbourhood doctor to see what could be the cause of it.
As for stones, yes, small stones can be removed by drinking sufficient water and dietary changes. However larger ones which cause painful symptoms will require physician's consult and treatment as they can't be treated via home remedy alone.

What e u doing for the situation
If the stone is small, you can drink more water and medications can be given to help ease the symptoms. However if the stone is large then, medications would not be helpful. To determine if you do need treatment or otherwise, it is best to consult a urologist to determine the size of stone.

A 5 mm stone can pass on its own in general. Mine was 11mm on last ultrasound

Pain under the ribs may not be only due to kidney stones. There may be other reasons for it. We are unable to advise based on solely the symptom description and would really recommend you to drop by at a clinic or hospital to get it checked out - especially if the pain comes and goes for sometime now.
