    • @CaptainLegend
      @CaptainLegend 6 лет назад +12

      Not echo, when you scream the right way, your voice should actually produce multiple notes at the same time, usually two, but some people like Chester from Linkin Park produce three notes. I'm not a doctor, so I can't explain to you exactly why, but it has something to do with the resonant spaces in your body and how open they should be while screaming.

      Whether it’s me or someone else, you’ve got to have someone show you how to sing/scream safely.

      Then stop, if it's feeling like your throats cut/cords snapped.
      As a beginner they say practise maximum 20 minutes a day maximum. Stay proper hydrated. Rest your cords in between as much as possible.
      My point is be careful, to can PERMANENTLY damage your cords for life if incorrect techniques.
      Stay real dude. Xx

    Nice demostration of vocal fry and of where to start! The effects like singing with "rasp" or "fry", is only icing on the cake, where you need to have the foundation laid down first. But I hate to break it to you, but Chris Cornell doesn't do vocal fry. He uses destortion by activating his false cords. Not in the same sense as the classical "death metal growl", where the vocal cords are forced apart to let the false cords ressonate freely on the sides. It is a completely different effect used by for example James Hetfield of metallica aswell, Corey Tailor of slipknot when he doesn't full out growl, Phil Anselmo - but he DOES combine it with alot of vocal fry, and his screams are a mixture of destortion and vocal fry, which is very hard to do proper! Or atleast I find it hard ^^

    This wasn’t quite what I was looking for. I can already do a lot of the sing-screaming you describe. I was looking for more extreme metal screaming like growls, shrieks, etc. Think Chris Barretto from Monuments, who has a diverse vocal range and can scream pretty loudly. I’m having trouble doing those types of screams without damaging my voice and massively restricting my high range/head voice without taking days to heal.

    1. Developed Diaphgram musclar power and control
    2. Proper Singing Technique Including Relaxation etc. Not forcing
    3. Good vocal fry with control and range (different ways to fry)
    4. start to layer 3 over 1 and 2, only after 1 and 2 are properly established. otherwise your just fucking yourself up and developing bad technique
    This is prbably why i can do a good scream 1 or 2 songs at karaoke, then im fucked. Im tensing. its not coming from my diaphragm so im strainng to get it up. and by tensing i cant hit the high notes anyways cuase the air cant get through, so im forcing and forcing, basiclaly ripping aprt my vocal chors. also hard to have control when your exploding this hard. so it sounds like shit. Wow so much learned. thank you man. great lesson/ :)

      To be fair there are thousands of metal singers and none of them can quite do it like Corey Taylor. He's especially good. I always liked Dax Riggs from Acid Bath as well. Two of the best screamers.

    I did the vocal fry and added the voice. But I have trouble adding distortion . So it just sounds like a screechy scream much like a bat

      Because vocal fry is useless. Almost all the distortion you hear in extreme vocals, is produced by false cords. While vocal fry is all about vocal cords

    I can not find how to combine the falsetto voice with the fry voice !!! the sound of the fry is low and with the falsetto can be made acute. I can not combine them to record the fry scream.

    if i strained my chords a bit from screaming is it ok to lightly sing without going into the heavy stuff ?

    • @PsyOpConspiracy
      @PsyOpConspiracy  5 лет назад +2

      Too many variables in this situation for me to give you a good answer.
      I don’t know how strained you are, what is light to you, or what you’re trying to sing.
      I would encourage you to book a one on one lesson if you’re having this kind of issue. I can tell you exactly what you need to do then, and you won’t have to wonder.

    And what about that nasally Billy Corgan screaming then drop to melodic?

    • @PsyOpConspiracy
      @PsyOpConspiracy  4 года назад +1

      That’s an overtone that is specifically dissonant with the primary note. I can do a hell of a lot more of them at once now, and it sounds way badass. It opens up my range way higher, and best of all, is safer while taking less effort.
      I’m 42, and using the Mars Method, I’m able to sing better than I ever have in my entire life.
