I know I being a "Cpt Obvious" with my comment pointing out the contrast between your totally calm and soothing speaking voice in _explicative_ _mode_ vs _death_ _vox_ mode, but it totally reminds me of times where I have been chilling with my friend Natasha who was doing a fielded HR job while having lunch with us and you doing the "death vox" is like her doing her worst tone cursing out this other girl she fired saying something like "I hate that f*kn c*n+..." and your explicative voice is like her suddenly fielding an incoming call saying to us "eff I gotta effing take this gimme a minute sorry" then switching to the nicest calming tone doing her professional voice, raising her pitch to sound approachable vocally calming reciting "Hello, this is Natasha in HR @[company name]. How can I help you ma'am?" All of us started laughing as quietly as possible so hard tears were coming out of our eyes and we're trying to not be too loud 😂 cuz it sounded like multiple personalities switching out while she's like excuse me for a moment, muted the phone and yells at us STFU and leaves the table for a minute while unmuting the phone and apologizing back in "nice Natasha" mode really quickly...😂
Simpler, more efficient explanation ever. I actually learned like that yet with a different video, just that the guy there explained it in a pretty similar way (despite that he used the dog bark impersonation metaphor, so to speak). Since I'm a contralto, it was always natural for me to fry? Just that before I didn't know the proper technique. I'm not into this kind of Metal at all, I much more prefer New one, but I absolutely love extreme vocals. I think they're so cool and fun 😅
I used to be able to do a decent scream (and growl) when I was teenager, but years of laryngopharyngeal reflux have ruined my vocal cords to the point where even talking is difficult. Anyway, despite that, this technique seems to have worked well for me so perhaps one day I'll regain the vocal ability I once had.
Another important thing, don't drink cold or sugary drinks! That's one of the ways you can get hurt, as cold drinks cause your vocal cords to contract, which is the opposite of what you want (though this applies to singing in general). Room temperature water or warm tea is recommended
