  • Mostly a fly through trip checking MPG along the way and catching alot of wind most of the trip. Can't complain though the little TDI did amazing the whole way!

    Hi buddy how are ya? Oh man I appreciate you making this video.
    I love your builds!! Your truck is a heavy vehicle and it still did well with a/c, head winds and hills!! I would love to put a BHW, ax15 dana18 set up in a Willy’s overland station wagon, for cross country road trips when my wife retires.
    I also love the comment about getting home and getting back to your black diesel!! I’ve run bd in my trucks for 11 years now. Take care GOD bless you and your family!!

    Hi, I thought it was an interesting video mostly because of the documented fuel economy testing. I'd love to get other people's opinions on what that exact same truck would have got for gas mileage with the original gas engine, what do you think Kyle? Keep up the good, interesting work. I would estimate about 30% Less MPG.
    Thanks, Ross

    adding a resonator may help with your in cab drone, run like an 8" resonator

      Ya I had a resonator muffler on it to start with, but it didn't do much under full throttle loads on the big hills

    The oil pressure from start to first stop dropped quite a bit.

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 месяца назад +2

      Oil pressure depends quite a bit on engine temp and rpm, it's been running about the same usually, but if oil temp gets over 210 I drop to 35 or so at 2500 rpm, still well within spec though, they run extra high cold

    your gravel lot looks really nice, id like to do that to my yard, what's involved in that?

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey it worked, there's never any issues when you prepare for them! Get a good base down underneath and have semis drop the rock in, skid steer helps for leveling.

  • @1eye341

    Do you have to manually shift the transmission, or does the tcm still operate it?

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 месяца назад

      I did not have a tcm with the jeep transmission so I installed a gate shifter to electronically operate the transmission solenoids for shifting. This works well to hold gears and stay in boost when going though rolling hills

    Nice trip! Great MPGs for such a heavy truck. This is an ALH right? How deep of a build did you do on it? Do you know roughly what your hp/tq figures are?

    • @TDISwaps
      @TDISwaps  2 месяца назад +1

      It's better than I imagined! This is a stock internal ALH, just added head studs, turbo, injectors and tuning. Along with small improvements for the swap. Should be 180-200 HP and 280-320 TQ
