- Looking at the Ruger Mark 4 competition series pistol
To get a lot of the cool shirts I wear check out forged from freedom for an awesome selection of Second Amendment related apparel bit.ly/2QkmEll Развлечения
The Mark IV is a great platform from Ruger and about time. The breakdown and larger controls are great. And the one piece pistol grip instead of two pieces.
I had the mark 3 version and I would love to have it again. I really liked the way it took down. I always thought it was cool. I gotta admit I like the fluted barrel of the hunter though. 😎👍
Pretty sweet, especially the new take down. I don't think I'm gonna trade my mkII Target in anytime soon, but I definitely think anyone in the market for a competition rimfire should check this out.
The trigger gets MUCH better with use. I have this gun in a Mark II and the Target model Mark III also a Mark IV Standard.
LateNite yeah I still haven't done the trigger swap yet because I'm waiting to see if it cleans up after break in
I had the Mk2 for years. Now I own the Mk4 and thinking about putting a Red Dot site on it. Love these little pistols.
They are a lot of fun I only wish the trigger was better out of the box
The Trigger is hopeless for a so called “competition gun”
I put the Volquartsen trigger kit in it, it’s a massive improvement.
The firing pin broke last week, put a Volquartsen firing pin and extractor claw in it.
The grip thumb ledge is annoying, changed the Grips.
With the Vortex Venom red dot fitted it’s as good as it gets.
...I replaced all the parts in my heavy barrel Gummint model with Volquartsen posts in 1995...
I assume if the grips were changed you would need to change the mag release button to standard length too.
I handled one in a shop this afternoon and loved the balance. A friend of mine has one on order. I've only owned the 5 inch bull barrels before, but I sure like the way these longer barrels give a longer sight radius. With the other features you talked about I'll probably make the switch. I didn't know you could remove that safety on the right side of the gun till I saw your video. I would definitely do that on mine.
Glen Pruett glad I could help.
Nice looking gun,i already have the smith and Wesson 22 victory.
I agree, for the $700 I paid for this gun, it should come with a 2 pound or less trigger pull! I tell you, for a precision it makes a world of difference. On my CZ's Rifles, I out a Timney with 8 OZ and my groups improved drastically!
With that off subject somewhat. I need to know how adjust Iron sights on this. Mine shoots Low and left!
That’s a nice gun right there
Even the lower mark series are not cheap by any means
Can you put a fiber optic front sight on this model which I like better as well than the Hunter model ?
Yes Tandemkross sells one for $30
Hi, is this gun also suitable for single hand shooting at a range? I love the looks but I need it to shoot accurate on 12 meters single handed....
ampelmannddr Yes the gun is quite accurate my eyesight isn’t the greatest but at 25 yards with a 2 moa reddot I can hold a 3-4 inch group just plinking away and I can tell the gun is much more accurate than I am As far as single-handed shooting you should be able to accomplish it no problem
Thank you for the video!! Very nice!!!
Carlos Quinones no problem thanks
Carlos Quinones he doesn’t know shit about this gun.
I think that the price has gone up since its introduction
..I iwnntwo...both MkIIs...just bought another TacSol upper..
I have one on the way.
Nice review man
Glenn Ward thanks
I'll have mine this weekend...
Got it!! picked up the Burris Fast Fire3 too... just have to get the rail mount.. gonna make it a Racer...
Gewglesux Just got me a 22/45 this past weekend. The Lite version. But I’m gonna have to get me one of these too. They didn’t have any in or I would have gotten both. I went to 6 different gun shops looking for one too.
@@Kornholeeoo The UPS guy just dropped off my Vorquartson Grip and Mag Loaders... The competition Bolt and Trigger parts are on Back order.. but i ordered them anyhow... this competition is my first .22 pistol.. It's pretty heavy too but i guess for what i want it to do it should be.
Did it come with a scope mount?(rail)
Vee Jay Rice no it comes pre-drill but you have to buy the rail separate
Thanks
I haven't purchased the mark4 yet but I was wondering why you chose the competition over the hunter? I am considering the campition model. I liked the way you removed the ambidextrous safety on the opposite side. I didn't know that could be done. Great review. Thanks.
Fishermanfred1 I liked the sights and grips more
I will have to replace the grips, southpaw lol. Delivery any day now. Planning on a silver rail with a medium magnification silver scope.
Way Out West nice I ended up putting a primary arms microdot on mine and plan to change the trigger at some point
Slim Cowboy Got a Holosun on mine. Volquartsen trigger will be here Tuesday and a halo. Compensator will take a week to get here.
is this channel still making videos????
Not really
@@SlimCowboy I want a refund on my patreon
They are out there for $539.
David cawrowl I saw they have gone down in price a little bit I think I paid just over six for mine
David cawrowl like I said, he knows shit about competition shooting.
@@SlimCowboy thats about what they're for here in NY.
Not post Covid jump
bla bla bla how much is it?
Go online and find out. This review is several years old. Certainly the price has already increased. But guessing from your negative attitude, it’s probably more than you can afford.
1. You don’t two hand a competition pistol.
2. You don’t put green dot sights on a competition pistol.
Basically, your review means nothing.
OReactor oh how I love dealing with a "Know it all" to your first point I would direct you to go watch the video Ruger released when they announced the gun showing the guy shooting it with two hands then watch 22 plinkster (small RUclips channel you might've heard of) shooting the gun with both hands then perhaps you'll notice the thumb rest on the left side of the gun allowing for an excellent thumbs forward two handled grip (almost as if it was designed that way) then I would go watch Jerry Miculek (he dabbles in competition shooting) shoot pistol consistently 2 handed into your second point well there are many different classes of competition shooting you can put whatever the hell you want on your gun in most of them which is why the gun happens to be drilled and tapped from the factory for a rail and scope (go figure) so in short basically your comment means nothing.
@@SlimCowboy Good reply Slim Cowboy.
Slim Cowboy I’m not a Know It all. I don’t know what life looks like on other planets. Say what you want but green sites are not good for Competition Precision shooting.
I apologize for assuming you were using it for Competition Shooting, where you use one hand.
Your are so f stupid about the two hand thing... see video from RUGER showing there new comp model of R MK4 (spoiler he shoots it with two hands) ruclips.net/video/zJJfBBOjXSk/видео.html
Be nice OReactor
