  • The Ruger MKIV .22-caliber pistol is the latest of “Mark” pistols and it has brought to the table an ease of disassembling and assembling the pistol over previous "Mark" series of pistols, and which is even easier than that of the Smith and Wesson “Victory” pistol.
    The Ruger MKIV “Hunter” is a wonderful firearm, both in ergonomics and when shooting.
    Join me as I tell the story of but one Ruger MKIV “Hunter.”

      Not even close to my first, but I enjoy it greatly. Make sure to locktite or vibratite the screws. Mine came loose just after a few rounds. Some locktite fixed that

    I have the Target model, I added a Red Dot, great gun so easy to breakdown

      Thanks for watching and commenting. What optic are your running? I am considering a green-pattern optic for my "Target" model.

      @@RangeRoninChronicles I added a rail and a Burris Red Dot, I use it for Bull eye shooting indoors at my Sportsman club, works great. I was impressed as it’s an inexpensive RD.

      Before added the RD I replaced the front sight with a green fiber ,,,,much better that stock sight

      @@Bill-jv5eg Thanks for the reply. I'll look into one.

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  Год назад +1

      @@Bill-jv5eg I agree with that. I'll be replacing that out as well. I find it somewhat ironic that I added to the "Hunter" the same grip as that on the "Target" and that I'll replace the front sight on the "Target" with the same type of front sight as on the "Hunter". Yet, I am not surprised. I swapped stocks between two Ruger bolt action .22 rifles simply because the stainless steel of one looked better with the stock of the other with a blued barrel- and visa versa. Go figure!

    Great review......just one mis-statement. The Mark 3 Hunter also had a Fluted Bull Barrel, not a slab sided barrel, as you explained. The Competition Model has a Slab Sided Barrel.

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching and pointing that out. I got my hunter, target, and competition models mixed up. The Target model has a bull barrel, the Competition model has the slab-side barrel, and the Hunter (this model) has the fluted barrel. This is a MK IV, by the way😁.

    • @MrJerrytita

      i realize this a Mark iv. The only reason I know the info I shared....is that I have a Mark 3 Hunter and just bought a Mark iv Competition!! lol My favorite pistols!!! Ruger Rules!!!! I , actually, don't have any problems dealing with the Mark 3 Mainspring ......after fighting it for years!!! lol

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@MrJerrytita I have a MK 3 22/45 that is a pre-grip panel swap model (I should have waited a bit). Since I bought the MKIV, the MK 3 rarely sees the light of day.

    Why does the hunter model get the nice wood grip panels but, the target one gets the crappy plastic ones?

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for watching and your question. I wish I could answer it. There is one model, the Model 40159, which comes with smoothly contoured wood laminate target grips with wrap around finger grooves. This is the model that I have and the reason I bought the same grips for the Hunter.

      Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. This was one of my earlier videos. I try to lay the music well under the narration, and fillers where dead air is not desired. In some cases, it disappears completely and in some cases it does not. Some find the music pleasant, others do not. Some like jazz, some like rock, some like country, some don't like music at all. I like most forms of music, and being a former professional (getting paid to play) musician, it is part of my life.

    • @haroldwilliams6219
      @haroldwilliams6219 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks. Just for perspective: my wife was musical, my daughter is a pianist, my son is a professional musician. For reasons unknown I wasn't invited to the party! No offense intended. Keep up the nice work.

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  8 месяцев назад

      @@haroldwilliams6219 No offense taken. While I did solo work, recording, and having my own band and recording studio, I finally figured out that the price of admission wasn't worth the show. I played a few instruments (keyboards, guitar of classical, jazz, and bass type, Native American-style flutes, mandolin, Mountain Dulcimer and various artifacts of hand percussion, along with lead vocals) but the toll was just to much on an important relationship. I set aside music for many years, but still pick up an NA flute and Mountain Dulcimer every now and then, but I am getting old, out of breath, and my fingers hurt.🤨
      I started another You Tube site where I showcased other people's music through my videos. That didn't garner any interest so it was put to the side. I just use music now primarily for intros and fillers for this channel. It's just something that I do.
      I am hoping that folks appreciate the technical side of my doing these reviews and can overlook my choices of music at times.
      No harm done and I hope that you can stay with me on this journey.
