Don't be dense. They split up so engagement in combat they wouldn't mean having to risk losing the entire craft and it would increase there velocity with the reduced drag not to mention increasing maneuverability. Staying close would give them a chance to protect each other responding offensively to Dooms attack while also being near for assist and aid should one of them crash. It's not rocket science hun

This movie has Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Fantastic 4 all those MCU Phase 6 stuuf in one movie, a year before the first MCU movie even got released. That's just freaking cool!!
Jessica Alba wore a blonde wig because her hair had suffered from all the bleaching in the previous "Fantastic Four (2005)" film.
The forest scenes were shot in the same forest as was used in the first three "X-Men" movies.

The first Marvel comic book movie to feature Galactus and The Silver Surfer.
While the movie version of the Silver Surfer can raise the dead, as he does for Susan Storm, the comic book version does not have this power.
(at around 28 mins) The blades of the helicopter that nearly destroys Sue and Reed's wedding were created with CGI.
Susan Storm's wedding dress is a custom made design by the German luxury fashion brand Escada.
Jessica Alba, upon receiving criticism about her performance in this film, said that the director, Tim Story, told her "It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica... Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in."

Don’t forget Andre Braugher was originally going to play Nick Fury in this movie. That was until Marvel forbidden the choice because they already had plans for Nick Fury in the then upcoming MCU movies
This was the closest we’ve ever gotten to a good doctor doom. Man as a kid I remember seeing him and in such awe I wanted to make my own suit. Hopefully he is properly introduced in the MCU and gets the proper design because I’ve been waiting.

@@jeeva2520 He probably didn’t believe Reed when he was saying they needed to stop the Destroyer. Heck, Doom didn’t even hear anything of Galactus until Reed in this scene. He just probably thought Reed was lying in order to give up the board. Unless Doom saw Galactus show up, he would probably then believe them and either give the board back to the Surfer or try to kill Galactus himself and use his powers. Imagine Doom using his electricity powers with the board’s.

Seriously, these movies look so much better still than they do nowadays. The raimi spiderman, iron man and the Incredible Hulk…idk what it is other than the bait answer of too much CGI but these look way more real. I like the lighting and color grading in this scene even though it’s dark sure but it’s more pleasing to me. Whatever cinematography techniques superhero movies in the 00s were using, I wanna learn more about it
I liked the idea of Victor using Silver Surfer's power, he looked badass on the surf board.

It got noticeably darker from the time the spin began and when it ended. They were also over the ocean and then in the middle of the city.
Im sure it had something to do with Doom using Surfer power and Galatus showing up shortly after.

In the novelization of this movie, Doom's motive was this: once he got the board, he was perfectly fine with earth's destruction as he planned to use the Surfer's board to fly into space and become a God over other planets, taking over the universe.

If there ever was a third one they should make it as if Kristoff who was actually Doom's successor they should have made it where he is his nephew. I can actually picture a more director's cut towards Rise of the Silver Surfer where it shows that Victor Von Doom and his nephew meet at the Pentagon and it shocks the Fantastic Four that Kristoff is related to him and before Doom takes the board he gave his nephew the wealth of his family's land and complete control over Latveria and a flash drive. I can even picture a scene where Frankie has her gun and of the Fantastic Four and Kristoff runs away before she can fire a shot he gets into an elevator and looks of the Fantastic Four and says we shall meet again for Doom's Legacy is Reborn. I'm even picturing a post credit scene we're Kristoff returns to Latveria where he accesses the drive and discovers that his uncle is still alive and he designed an advanced prototype for his nephew. Including a video recording from Victor Von Doom stating that if you're watching this then he might be missing or dead but for the time being I leave you my wealth and control over this nation and what is on this drive will be the next step in the legacy of Doom. After all four can be defeated by The Power of One. And there is also a holographic actual intelligence Victor Von Doom that will guide his nephew to becoming the next Lord of Latveria and the day when the next Doctor Doom will strike.
