- JJ of Bob Lee Bows in Jacksonville, Texas, explains how to find the correct placement for your arrow nocking point on your bow string, and how to make any necessary setting adjustments to help ensure optimal arrow flight and performance for your Bob Lee recurve or long bow.
When I see the man in the shop actually making what he's talking about I will definitely listen to what he says.
That has got to be the best description of how to find a nock point I've ever heard... Thank you for this Video..........
Best "short explanation" video for nock point 👍
I haven't even got into the video, but how awesome is the opening sequence - just wailing on a recurve bow with that massive belt sander
Thank you, so much, I was at crossroads in determining where my starting point should be. I actually started at 7/16", and went up, until I settled on 3/4", which seems to work very well for me now!
Great video!
Shane, from Leatherwood Outdoors,is who got me into recurves. Watching him shoot, just lit a fire for getting back to basics that I never want to put out.
Dang good bows, that are made to be hunted, and passed on as heirlooms. Thanks again for the vid..very informative.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad to have you on the traditional team!
Thank you.really informative. watching from England. Love the accent .
What accent? :)
What accent? Everybody talks that way. Right? :)
@@stevepearson5142 he’s got a southern accent
Thanks, bow fires alot more accurately now.
How can you set it on a horse bow/instinctive thumb draw bow that has no arrow shelf?
Lovely bow, I am in South Africa, how much is a bow like that at 40lb? it is a lovely looking recurve.
Thank you
Nice explication Bob Lee because alot of bow shooters shoot 3 fingers under the nock! like us , american first nations !
Shout out east Texas
Thanks good info
Video starts at 0:38.
If you shoot 3 fingers under do you recommend a nock point above and below the arrow or just above? Great video.
Nock point above no matter 3 under or split finger!
@@reddawng43x91 why? On my compound ive always shot under nocked..What's the reason behind it..
@@TheMarky26 so the arrow doesn’t try to creep up when you draw
@@reddawng43x91 i shoot split finger under nocked..Never had an arrow creep up..🤔🤔🤔 i guess to each his own though..People all have different ways of doing things..
Sad you no longer make bows with wood risers.
what a beaut bow
Does your D97 string come with that adjustable nock?
We offer both our "naked" D97 string for $20, and our fully rigged (puffs installed and our adjustable nock) for $40 on our web site. Hope this helps!
Is there a name for the nock point you are using?
Not aware of a particular name, but it’s a tied nock with "walking ability". Hope this helps!
Bob Lee Bows, thanks!
Thank YOU for watching!
Nice info. Does it make a difference on the placement of the nocking point whether you shoot 3 under or one over and two under?
Hey Richard -- Thanks for the compliment! And yes, there is a difference in the nock set for the two shooting styles. A nocking point for three-under shooters is typically slightly higher than that of a nocking point for a split-finger shooter. Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot for the reply. I just switched to shooting 3 under and wasn't sure what to do with my nock point. I appreciate the tip.
You're so welcome ... and Happy Shooting!
No it does not
@@BobLeeBows I disagree! What is your reasoning for this???????
Where can I buy one of your bows?
Thanks for your interest! You can view and purchase our bows via our web site (bobleebows.com) or you can give us a call if you prefer. Our contact info is available here: bobleebows.com/contact/
are you exporting them ?
Our bows are crafted in our Jacksonville, Texas shop, with materials purchased from American suppliers. We do sell bows internationally - directly to individuals -- shipping often to Sweden, Germany, Australia and many other countries. Hope this helps to answer your question.
Bob Lee Bows thats great I assume England is on that list ?
Absolutely! In fact, within the past few months we've shipped to Colchester (Essex) and Clapham (Bedfordshire). $65 typically covers shipping to anywhere overseas. Interestingly, one of our English customers flew (with his family in tow) to our Texas facility - and we've become fast friends. Let us know if you need anything else. We're here to help! And, if you haven't already done so, you can visit our web site at bobleebows.com
Bob Lee Bows Fantastic ! thats funny because i visit southern America about twice a year . Been doing that for over 20 years but have never once visited Texas. I think this might be the reason I need to finally visit your wnderful state !!! 😍🇬🇧 . It would be wonderful to buy my bow and take it home . I do that with all the things I want in my life from the USA . I enjoy talking to the person face to face , much more human . You make a wonderful bow . you must be very proud . well done .
Be sure and give us a headsup if you decide to fly in -- you're welcome anytime!
I think this video could use a longer intro.
1/2 inch and keep going up. Ha Aha
U don’t need a bow square
You're right. But he did say it just makes it easy
