I've got a 2013 r58 mini cooper SD with this engine and while it's already had a driveway/laptop remap, I'd love to do some more to it. Main thing i'd be concerned about is the amount of heat generated in such a tiny engine bay. I suspect it would make any kind of open air intake a bit of a problem
its not just the timeing chain on the N47 engine you need to look out for its the HP fuel pump as well! can go at any time whether you have full BMW service history or not.
such a shite design chain went on my gf mini cooper d 1.6 chains at back aswell big job went on motorway aswell so got rid. none serviceable chain with a shitty plastic tensioner.
so as i can see it from the website its nearly 5300 euro for parts a plus the price from the remap would you be able to tell us who much you cahrge for the remap please ?? i only priced the turbo kit cp4 fuel pump kit injector upgrade kit arp head stud kit ????
So I have a f30 318d witch has the solenoid injectors, I have a set of piezo injectors from a f30 320d would I have to change the ecu? A guy in Belgium (SVRmotorsport) tunes the exact same car as mine and says it’s been fitted with 320d injectors but doesn’t mention the ecu? Any help on this would be very much appreciated tia

These chains do okay once big power? I ran my n47 at 230brake for a while, without issues after chain changed. But not sure how after going above this?
I have 118d on n47 too, after installing turbo from f30 that produce in stock 184hp i cant get more power than about 200hp too. Yes the reason was in fuel, computer says that high pressure pump cant do enough pressure, BUT! the reason was in low pressure relay, in 118d low pressure pump gets only 8 volts in all rpm, i installed this relay from 520d and everything becomes more better!
@OnePT23 For the first all relays are similar, you can simply remap it with other software, but it was easily to me to put relay because used one was very cheap. I got normal 8-14 volts depend on rpm and of course full pressure that pump can do,. Old relay do only 8 volts always, because it is enough for 143hp.
@@mrmizou001 youll need to use your old actuator, the hardest thing is to reweld actuator traction to new position. Turbo is absolutely similar. ive done it all in my garage, its not very hard.

Why, Im from Portugal. This injectores you use is from BMW 330d right? Is the only compatible to this motor right? I get stage 2 on my but i need more fuel, the fuel of 118d os very low, and someone tell me os not all compatible to my motor, i need more information if you can tell me please. Is it possible to get the clearance or dimensions between the head and the outer part of the turbo or manifold (whichever is largest)? I like the look of this but in my car the engine is sideways...
I've been meaning to do this but my 118D has 97k on it. I have a donor 330D after the chain snapped. Can you use the M57TU2 injectors in the N57. I have a fairly new turbo in it. Fancy filming customer brings in one working car and one wrecker donor leaves with two wrecks ;)
That fuel rail would drive me insane. Messing with my OCD! Couldn't you have pinched something from a later engine that would most likely be running more rail pressure as standard?
@@DarksideDevelopments Those newer rail which appears like stainless but its not really stainless weld really good. Did some of them for 2200Bar, no problems. Old rails which were cast thats other story.
how many KM/Miles has the car drove? My 318D E90 LCI has droven about 21 000 km. Is it to late to start tuning it? Will it kill the engine? And what can i do to keep the engine from getting destroyed from tuning it? My engine sometimes feel pretty tired and im worried it will kill the engine by starting to increase the power. Would really appreciate some replies and ideas.

Hello guys, quick question I'm looking to get a Stage 3 for my 320d N47N - CP4.2 HPFP, Darkside Intercooler and GTB2260v are already here. My question is: do the B47 solenoid injectors (up to 2000 bars) fit in the N47N (stock are 1800 bar piezo injectors) or do I have to go with the piezo injectors of the 123d/330d n57 (up to 2000 bars). I don't want to change the high pressure lines (i think needed if I switch to n57 piezo injectors) Would like to get about 300h. What do yall think, anyone tried or tested this? Thx
Nice torque, way over 600nm 👌. It need is quite weird that the clutch is slipping in higher RPM, did you manage to find the reason for that? I'm wondering about the timing chain, do they not give any greef, in the long run, after that has been replaced? I've been looking into these before I "fixed" a 1.6cr 6R polo with a mk6 gtd engine and transmission, but ditched the 1series due to the timing chain problems...

@@Mpsjakeif it was made after 1st March 2011, it shouldn't snap apparently. If it was serviced every 10 000 km, it should last.

Its all turbo depending but 190's and well over 300 torque

Turbos are also different between 118d and 120d. Exhaust part is 4mm thinner on 118

Make a partition for the intake/custom air box and plumb in some tubing to the lower grilles 👍

That’s bloody great how much power you’re squeezing out of them but why would the customer tune a 118d instead of just getting say a 330d?

Well, could be annual tax in some countries, i have a 118d in Romania and i pay 30£/year, a 330d would cost me around 400£/year.

Yes the auto gearbox on the m47s are really strong my have over 550.000km and still going really well

118d has Solenoid, 330d has Piezo. If the 330d injectors are perfect we will buy them!

This had about 100,000 miles. Get a new timing chain, clean the ports and let it have it!

It's your choice, they are meant to be for life but not worth risking it if its high mileage and are having a lot of work done.

Depends how much LPG but I don't like it for anything other than low loads. If you can fit bigger injectors or pumps LPG is not required.

I'm looking to get a Stage 3 for my 320d N47N - CP4.2 HPFP, Darkside Intercooler and GTB2260v are already here.
My question is: do the B47 solenoid injectors (up to 2000 bars) fit in the N47N (stock are 1800 bar piezo injectors) or do I have to go with the piezo injectors of the 123d/330d n57 (up to 2000 bars).
I don't want to change the high pressure lines (i think needed if I switch to n57 piezo injectors)
Would like to get about 300h.
What do yall think, anyone tried or tested this?

stage one i've been told my 118d e87 09' gets 190bhp
Depeneds what you consider"stage 1" to be. On a custom remap we tend to get 170-180
@@DarksideDevelopments not too sure, nothing upgraded, only got 27k miles - custom map i believe they quoted me 398 for it, health check, dynos etc...
Why not takes 23d rails ?
123d is the same as 118d

It has a totally different pump and injectors.
Have you had any experience with the 123d? What potential is there in one of them?

Nice torque, way over 600nm 👌. It need is quite weird that the clutch is slipping in higher RPM, did you manage to find the reason for that?
I'm wondering about the timing chain, do they not give any greef, in the long run, after that has been replaced?
I've been looking into these before I "fixed" a 1.6cr 6R polo with a mk6 gtd engine and transmission, but ditched the 1series due to the timing chain problems...
Clutch not changed yet I don't think!
