Nothing annoys me more than how underappreciated this man is as an actor. Jimmy McGill is my favourite fictious character of all time and Bob is the reason why he is so great.
I think Odenkirk's acting chops were apparent early in his career. He demonstrated a wide range on Mr. Show.

Amazing how Sean completely reversed Bob's expectations of this interview. I could tell from the beginning he wasn't feeling the vibe and was probably expecting some cookie cutter interview with only questions relating to the Breaking Bad universe. What an absolutely brilliant and joyful interaction here.

It is a good part of the format, everyone is getting high on that rush the human body gives you when you feel like you've burned yourself.
Being a classic SNL fan through my dad, I honestly find his time on that show interesting as well. He wrote one of the most iconic and best SNL skits that was written. Of course I’m talking about Matt Foley.

I've noticed, that most comedians Sean brings to the show are actually very serious, deep, mostly cynical and really observant and intelligent people, who put up some kind of a defensive facade in the beginning and slowly open up towards the end.

Bob Odenkirk at the beginning really was giving vibes that he didn't want to be there doing a gimmicky interview and had really low expectations. But, Sean's ability to ask thought-provoking questions and keep guests entertained is AMAZING! By the end you could tell Bob was genuinely enjoying himself. Keep it up Hot Ones!!!

when he jumped straight to the 9th wing after da bomb i kinda got "i just wanna be done with this and leave" vibes but he definitely still seemed to get more interested the further in he got. definitely overall seemed uninterested tho which is a disappointment to me because i love bob odenkirk and BCS so much

It’s actually insane that the writing in BB and BCS is so good that Bob has learned life lessons from playing a character in those shows. “Let go of resentments” is a major theme in both shows and although they’re fictional, they’re so well written and believable that the actors involved feel those themes on a personal level. As does the audience.
Oh man… I just realized that Robin Williams would’ve been an INCREDIBLE guest for this. Can you even imagine that? It’d be twice as long because they and the crew would be laughing too hard. And yet, Robin would still give great answers that would be as impressive.

Yeah I like how Sean goes out of his way to go from asking a couple fun questions mixed in with some harder hitting thought provoking questions that challenge their career experience and allow them to share their experience.

Sean does an incredible job of (pleasantly) surprising his A-list guests. He catches them off guard and gets them to open up and share parts of themselves we don't often get to see. His skills as an interviewer are why we keep coming back, but he keeps it all cleverly hidden behind the spicy-wing-eating challenge and the heavyweight guest list. Hats off to you, First We Feast!
The way I see this show is exactly how Borat or Nathan Fielder operate, he lures them in with a bait and switch in a reverse prank format, and they are thoroughly entertained in the end.

It is so rare for an actor/influencer to actually add a personal touch to the end segment, but Bob adding the bit about the book he wrote with his children brought a tear to my eye. So genuine, and such an amazing actor!
He devoted a ton of his time to his kids when they were growing up. Adores them.
It was so touching and made me like him even more❤️
Perhaps it's because, unlike many of the other guests on the show, Mr. Odenkirk is a real, good, kind, educated, experienced*, and talented human.

Bob is a good example of one of those genius comedians who is super, super serious, but when he’s in his element of comedy writing or performing he’s just unreal
True enough, he is opposite of Saul Goodman between takes, he is quiet and focused on his job as told by Bryan, Rhea and everyone he worked with.
But when he is paired with someone he really likes you can see he comes out of his shell. Like with Conan, they have a very nice bond cause they are friends for a long time.

@@TheDigitalDecade You can't really do bits on this show - well you can but at least for Bob's style it wouldn't work. Sean only asks questions then move on to the next ones for the wings - there's really no rooms for improvisation and enough rapport to build a bit. If it was Conan or something then he can certainly do bits on his own but this show's format really restricts that kind of thing.

Sean is consistently one of the best interviewers. Wins over almost every guest with his earnest and well researched questions. Bob was sort of dismissive at the start, but guarantee this one of his most entertaining interviews. Love it Sean😉😀

Its crazy how much his career blew up later in life. I mean this dude started out working on Conan O'Brien, a writer for the SImpsons, etc. Im happy for him, hes deserved it for decades. Also, Sean has become an EXCELLENT interviewer!
I remember seeing the first episodes of Hot Ones and thought it was an interesting take on interviews, but I never thought that Sean would turn out to be such gifted interviewer. He seems to me that he is to interviewing what Anthony Bourdain was to storytelling. And that to me is the greatest compliment.
Honestly, the best part of this show is how well-researched Sean and the crew are about a guest. They paint a full, complete picture of a person's career and life. Their breakout role is touched on, but it's only a piece of the larger picture. Like here...the episode is not about Saul/Jimmy, it's about Bob and his path through life. It's absolutely fascinating. When you're THAT good, the hot sauce is just the cherry on top.
Bonus points for this episode since they both knew about all things Bostonian.

Every episode, I'm blown away with how good interviewer Sean is! Always well prepared, asking relevant and interesting questions that often take them off guard but never offend or shame them in any way. One of the best interviewers there is!
For all you Odenkirk fans that have children, he just published a book of children's poems that he wrote with his own kids called Zilot. My kids and I just finished it, great bedtime read, check it out.

I’m 57 years old, I watch way too much television and movies, Bob is one of the best actors of all time, and Better Call Saul is definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen in my entire life. It made me laugh harder than I ever have, it made the hair on my neck rise many times, it made me cry, and so on and so forth.

@@Narapoia1 Obviously I'm not Chris, but I think I just preferred the drama and characters in BB. Walter and Jesse's dynamic was the driving force that kept my interest in the show. It's honestly a very hard call to make, considering BCS has some of the best writing in TV.
@@2255223388 I watched breaking bad 8 or 9 times and the same with BCS waiting until that last season came out. Once it did, I stopped watching them both. It recontextualized both series for me to the point where they are depressing tales of selfish people ruining the lives of everyone around them. Obviously BB had the same themes, but BCS really made it sink in for me. I loved the tale of Walter White and even empathized with him til the end, but Saul is pure tragedy. He doesn't get a heroes death, he loses and faces his consequences.
Sean is such a great host. He makes every interview so much fun to watch and makes all the guests feel so comfortable

Sean is so genuine as a fan & host. So thoughtful in these like complex multi layered questions to the guests. Very cool. I loved some of Odenkirks insights to the characters he’s played and directed also. I think sauls story was masterful in the way he kind of back engineered the breaking bad storyline in BCS as one of the most important parts of the saga & possibly the best sense of closure we get out of it all! Great episode guys.

Man, I feel like comedians are the most sad but most joyful people on the planet and we are so lucky to have them and bring us all together and laugh no matter our differences at the end of the day!

An amazing portrayal of how spicy the wings are. Through Bob's brilliant acting, we can fully sympathize with how much the wings were on the Scoville scale. Bravo Vince!

It's always cool when someone comes on and is clearly a fan of the show right off the bat, but seeing Bob get slowly won over and impressed at the end is just awesome. Sean Evans always brings his A game. 👏🙌
What I love about Sean is that when he has them wide open after thaBomb, he doesn’t ask carrier ending questions, instead he provides never before heard insights. Pure genius

I love Bob, always have as an Actor and a writer, he is the best. But I have to add Sean and his team do such a wonderful job of coming up with really great questions. This is become my favorite weeknight show and I have only seen maybe 6 of them!

Underrated scene is when Bob asks is they make people watch him eat all 12 wings and Sean says they're kind in the edit. Then the editor just leaves it on Bob going in on a flat lol. Small moments like that elevate this show against so many others.

Woah, I haven't watched this show in a long time now. Sean is an extremely talented interviewer.
Sean is probably the best interviewer of celebrity’s I’ve ever witnessed. He is amazing , well thought out and thoughtful questions . And he and his team do their research perfectly. Everyone that’s been on the show has always enjoyed him and complimenting his questions.

Man, Lucky Hank is such a good show, and Bob's performance is the icing on the cake.
It's incredible to see Bob talk. Decades of show biz wisdom seeps out of him. I don't care for childrens books but I will 100% pick that up just to support such an incredible journey with his kids.
Bob really is such a magnetic presence for someone so chill.

1. Bobs intro and his confidence of not thinking this is as daunting as it has proven to be was gold.
2. The question Sean asked above about Chris Farley transported Bob back so much that Bob answered like he was talking to himself. I saw the genuine admiration and thoughtfulness Bob had in his response.
3. Probably my favorite episode EVER, and I’ve seen 100% of them!!!
