I love how if the guest swears, Sean swears with them, and if they don't, he doesn't. He's always so polite and trying to make them comfortable.
I noticed he also matches the guest’s reaction, like if they’re struggling he also acts like it’s affecting him and when the guest isn’t he’s the same. I think it’s really smart of him and makes the guests open up more and feel comfier

The fact that he not only mentioned "The Court Jester", but actually knew the lines, shows how much of a true cinephile he is. It's impressive. Most people don't even know that movie exists.
I was squealing in delight that he knew that gem of a movie AND could recite part of the funny rhyme, too. I am a big fan of the Courtjester and especially the lullaby is soooo precious, the fighting scene when he switches characters leaves me in fits of laughter each time. One of my most valued dvds ever.
One of my all-time favorites. That one along with Inspector General. Danny Kaye is/was amazing. And I was also thrilled that Jake knew it. Cool.

I knew so little about Jake before seeing this, and I have to say, the man is awesome. His humour is just deadly, and he’s a reflective and thoughtful guy. Great combo. So interesting to see him want to immerse himself in the full experience just to test it out. No tiny bites, a full curiousness on limits approach I’m sure he also brings to his craft. What a cool dude.

Donnie Darko is incredible especially after watching the second time. Brothers is also noteworthy. Jake Gyllenhaal alongside Tobey Maguire makes for an intensely dramatic film… and of course

Jake pulling out the Court Jester sequence was absolutely incredible

What I thoroughly enjoyed was hearing the team behind the camera laughing. Everything about this one was great and wholesome with Mr. Gyllenhaal.
I think that's because it was 80% female 😅
@@RD-jr8nv it's Gyllenhaal. I don't think it matters. I had a 💩 eating grin the entire episode
I noticed that on the Florence Pugh one as well. In my opinion it takes away from the intimacy of the situation, and goes towards the LadBible thing of the whole crew laughing every time the guest speaks. I don't think anyone is pandering in Hot Ones the way that they do, but the amazing thing about Hot Ones is the simplicity of it, I think less is more in the videos
@@nibncabc2737 Tom Segura's podcast does this too. It's like sneaking a laugh track into your show. Smart, but, kinda gets old sometimes.
Is that the Hot Ones crew or is that Gyllenhaal’s team trying to pump up the laughter?

Great interview. Great guest. Jake is awesome.

Sean could tell they'd just made an epic episode there at the end!
Sean has excellent social work skills; he’s like a therapist who masterfully knows how to react to the person’s words and body language, as well as understanding the moment 💯 As a master-level social worker, I truly appreciate that 😎
Seeing Jake be so freaking funny was jarring since he plays a lot of somber characters ridiculously well. Such a great episode, hall of famer for sure.

Refreshing to see a guest who proclaims he's a fan of the show and actually means it. He knew Posty went back, he knew what the shaking of the last bottle meant and didn't act like he didn't by going on a "hold on, hold on, what' you shaking it for?!". One of my favourite episodes yet!
Oh man that is the worst... Pretending to be a fan and then clearly having no idea how the show works beyond the basic premise. Why lie about that?
@@cloudshad0wsto try to make the person you're talking to feel more comfortable. Him and florence have been the best

This is the most I have laughed on a Hot Ones episode 😂😂😂😂 I freaking love Jake Gyllenhaal
It’s tough to enjoy the guests on a regular late night talk show after seeing them on Hot Ones. This will always be one of their best interviews by comparison.
The fact that so many of them genuinely enjoy his interviews so much more than the talkshows says so much too, he's a truly incredibly talented interviewer, he will go down in history
Think because it's genuine. Plus when your mouth is on fire 🔥 the charade drops and it makes the guests show their true selves and its great.
This show has a lot of the same energy as Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show.
That's cause Sean asks meaningful questions. Talkshow hosts all ask the same cookie cutter thing
It's such a unique, strange and weirdly perfect concept. Like how are you going to not be genuine while your tongue is fighting for its life? And the questions are the icing on the cake.
I always love the episodes where Sean gives the guest an opportunity to plug something and they're just like "I've not got anything going on, I'm just here for the experience."
