    You could tell that Sean instantly became Anthony Mackie’s favorite interviewer of all time. When you ask someone about what’s obviously one of their favorite hobbies and give them the floor to just go on about it, it really stands out to that person. Best interviewer in the business IMO

      I mean especially for Mackie who’s had to do the Marvel press tours and get asked “how did you get your start” or “what is your favorite superhero” or “what was it like rapping with Eminem” over and over and over again. It’s gotta be exhausting. And just letting him talk about something he’s passionate about without deriding or interrupting must be like a breath of fresh air for Mackie. That’s why I love Sean and why so many people he interviews love him too.

      Pain is an equalizer. When your mouth is on fire, you hardly have the focus to put up a personality, so it's easier to just be yourself and focus on answering the questions instead.

    Never underestimate the power of a great question -- makes you feel seen, understood, and cared for. Not just a great show for the wings and the responses, but great show for the questions and interactions. Sean Evans may be the most underrated interviewer alive.

    Ive said it and ill say it again. Sean was born to be an interviewer. Like the undertaker said, they always answer the same questions over and over again, but sean spices it up and asks out of the box questions. Must be refreshing for these celebrities not having to just put yourself on repeat mode

    Honestly, as an interviewer, I think his ability to make sure that the GUEST actually HAS FUN is soooo underrated!!! He does such an amazing job because the interview is SO much more dynamic when the person being interviewed is intrigued by the questions and clearly is excited to answer!

      All they do is ask their agent "who raised ______?" Then they phone that person and flatter them into giving information on questions that would reflect positively on the Stars character, and that the guardian spills their guts because they want the public to see the good in people in a world that wants bad. Journalists know this but they know good doesn't sell. Media is trash except this excerpt.

    I always get giddy when the guests like a question Sean asks! Sometimes they're on a massive promo wheel and it must be exhausting to have the same questions asked again and again and then they get a question they'd actually love to answer and it shows in their face! Hot Ones is so wholesome despite the brutal wings

      Joe Rogan is a great host because he is thoughtful and intelligent, and knows how to read his guest and keep the show flowing, a talent shared by other comics, such as Craig Ferguson, both are very entertaining to watch. But none of those guys gets the compliments the way Sean does; that guy is just a master of asking the right questions and doing his homework like no other.

    You can see how the guests just light up and completely change when they get a question they've never heard before, and that they know is based on Sean's extensive research. It makes for such better content than the monotony of other interviews.

    The producers on this show are the BEST. The questions are always so interesting. Watching people sweat over Da Bomb (spoilers, they don't like it) wouldn't be half as interesting without these great questions. KUDOS.

    Low key Sean Evans is the best interviewer of our generation, maybe of all time. He doesn't just ask the standard "what is it like being so great" fodder, he digs and find questions the person really *enjoys* answering.

    About Thundercat's question, I've always found it amazing how much of a difference the soundtrack makes. Even if you aren't actively listening to it, it brings the whole thing together. Try turning the music off during a cutscene or an epic fight and see how big of an impact it has. Dead Space is a great example.

      There are games and games. Some are built to be without almost any music, and some add an enormous feeling to the game with the music. As he said, I cannot picture having the same adrenaline rush in mario when I pick up the star if it wasnt for the fast, cheery music.

    This is such a brilliant interview regime. Breaking the celebrities down physically with hot sauce, then hitting them intelligently or emotionally with amazing questions. It creates some of the most true and vulnerable moments

      Jak ovasaur in the context of why it was said I agree. I understand where the others that have commented are coming from but as tragic and brave as those situations are, they don't apply to entertainment aspect of it. Although constructive criticism is great, those critics that get popular by only pointing out flaws have ruined the point of critics. The quote is a powerful statement if taken the way its was intended.

    I love that Anthony Mackie's little bit, he's so happy to get to talk about fishing on the set of the Avengers movies and it adds so much when you watch Falcon & Winter Soldier and see that for his character fishing was a large part of his life before he joined the military. Reality feeding fiction in a very nice way that rewards those in the know

    Undertaker is actually wholesome outside of the ring. Very cheery guy. I remember he was all smiles and giggle and then a kid asked him to do the eye. His face change almost instantaneously.

      I think the whole point of the show, and what makes it so special, is that it’s so humanizing. Celebrities get asked the same ten questions in almost every interview they do. Sean, on the other hand, takes his time to genuinely get to know them. It’s amazing.

      That's should be the proper way of doing it. Though I can't blame the mainstream media for doing the common questions. They're usually running on limited time. The Hot Ones platform provides a better avenue for more humanizing interviews. It just comes off as a friendly conversation.
      Big question though: where does Sean get his info!?

    This is the proof to why almost no one dislikes "Hot Ones", even the guests like to be there, Sean isn't invasive, hostile or rude. He always tries to get a question that makes the guest express their own feeling about something and there's always at least 1 chuckle, laugh or smile from the guests because of a question

    The genius thing about the spicy sauces is it breaks down the defenses of the interviewee, thus making them more susceptible to certain questions. Genius genius.

    I know Sean has said that before an interview he researches them for like 48 hours but I’d like to know after the interviews how much info he still remembers, like if he sees one of these celebrities a few years down the line how much info does he still retain about them that he can drop mid conversation.
