Doesn't seem bad at all especially for $30. My guess is all the screws to help hold the frn together with the back spring in there. An awesome size as well love my big knives. Great review brotha 👍
I just ordered and received the Cara Cara 2. ... from Amazon ... It said FRN, which I was curious about to finally have a knife with FRN handle scales. But it feels like G10, doesn't feel rubbery at all. I paid more than it was listed elsewhere, but I didn't want to hustle yet another account and payment set up. Now I am thinking it might be the G10 version and it was wrongly advertized, since the price I paid correlates more with the G-10 versions of it. Maybe it really is G10, because the handle texture feels really sharp and its angled nobs don't look as well rounded off as this FRN handle close up in here does. The texture of my handle scales also seems to be the same as the backspacer, and since you said that's G10 it really seems like the scaled on mine are also made of G10. 🤔 I will keep it nontheless, since I prefer G10 over FRN anyways. lol 😅
Always been intrigued by byrd knives but never got one. That opening hole doesn't do it for me. I like the shape though, I have a police spyderco that I really like. Throw a couple zip ties on that thing and it would bump it up a couple points

@@EEDC I picked it up at a pawn shop about a year or two ago. If you put one or two zip ties on the hole with the square part of the zip tie poking out it acts as a wave opener. I think my police is in those pictures I sent you a while back and it has some zip ties on it. You can Google spyderco zip tie mod
@@EEDC I got it for 50 or 60 and it was mint in the box when I got it so it was a pretty good deal. Then I modded it and dropped the value significantly haha

Hahahaha I cant I got it for this reason!!!!! They have a black and blue handle one too that almost beat out the white, but I'm a sucker for the white and black. I'm not either on the lockbacks, but I do have to give it credit, the click and the just more dense feel it gives to the handle is something to appreciate. Thanks for checking it out sammy!!!
