Yep, I can definitely get behind all of these picks w/ the exception of Vader and Bullet, neither of which I've heard. You mentioned King Diamond and Anthrax in the comments which...yep, absolutely (Anthrax is my favorite band of all time), though I'd take a new Mercyful Fate over a new King Diamond. Personally, I'd also love a new Destruction album and Zetro is saying we might get a new Exodus album by the end of the year. Other than that... - Gamma Ray - Helstar - Vicious Rumors - The reunited Crimson Glory - Helloween - Grave Digger - Running Wild Re: Geneis XIX, I much prefer Tom's "shouting voice" we got on Code Red and M-16 to his "shrieking voice", so while I liked Genesis XIX a lot, it didn't really stick out as this big "return to form" to me like it did for a lot of other people. Idunno...I'm probably in the minority here. Anyways, take care.

For me it´s the first three Vader albums, we´ve been on tour with them two times in 1997 and 1998. I´ve seen them perform those old songs countless times and love the guys Peter had with him back then. R.I.P. Doc! Those "smaller" bands like Bullet or Ram are my age and they don´t live off of their music, they have families and a job. On top of that the years 2020 and 2021 hurt them big times as well as the fact you just mentioned with people not buying much physical media anymore. On Death Angel, I think Mark´s work with Kerry King slowed down the work on a new DA album. Let´s hope he shouted out all the aggression and get´s back to a more memorable singing style with DA!!!
Vader rules! You might find this surprising, but I have very little interest in that Kerry King album. Put it this way it’s not on pre-order 😂 Cheers brother

Hey Darcy! Well, you have pretty much summoned it up for me along with the additions of King, Mercy and Anthrax. Vader absolutely no doubt. You turned me on to Bullet. I would recommend anybody check out Bullet. They are a fist pumping, air guitaring good time! Whenever I listen to them, I have to grab the broom out of the closet. Lol... I really enjoyed the last Deep Purple album and I like the new single, so I am going to add that one to my list and Stryper. Alice in Chains. Darcy take care my friend, and as always stay heavy!

Some good choices there Darcy with Sodom, Onslaught, Possessed, Death Angel, Testament and Exhumer, all well overdue for a new album. The last album these bands put out have all been very high standard, so hopefully they can keep the momentum going into a new album.
Agree with a lot of those, but I wouldn't be upset if they all took a little longer because I'm almost caught up. I just got the Sodom 40 year album and 1982 EP. I'm ready for a new Unleashed album. I could use a new Satyricon and Orchid album too. Exciter, DBC, Benediction, and Sacrifice are all working on new albums.
That Sodom 40 Years At War is some of best re-recorded material I’ve ever heard, up there with First Strike Still Deadly! Exciter & Sacrifice would be nice too. Have a great week Greg 🤘

Got tickets to see Testament & Kreator later this year ( Anthrax are joining them as well, so should be a killer show). Saw Possessed last year, excellent gig, that last Possessed album is great.🍻🤘

2 band's that i hope will release new music any day now is French power metal band Heavenly as their latest studio release Carpe Diem is 2009 and Finnish Melodic Death/Symphonic Death metal band Eternal Tears of Sorrow and their latest release Saivon Lapsi is 2013 so Over 10 Years and heavenly's case almost 15 Years. Also Sweden Power/Trashmetal band Morgana Lefay as their Latest Studio Recording is 2007 Aberrations Of the mind.

The only group I don't know out of the ten is Bullet. But I definitely agree we need another album from all those groups. When showed Vader, Death Angel and Armored Saint it instantly made me feel like listening to those groups because I haven't listened to those three groups in a little while now. For me just off the top of my head would be Opeth, Anthrax, Testament (Chuck Billy says this year but we're almost at the halfway point then we haven't heard anything) and Helloween (the last one was about 3 years ago).
Really looking forward to a new RAM album, The Throne Within is my favorite album from them. The closing track Ravnfell is killer! Armored Saint is a band that I have missed. Another one that I will get around to one day🤷♂️

Generation Antichrist is my favourite album by Onslaught, I've been wanting to pick it up for years! Vader and Sodom I'm pretty new to, only have 1 album from each (Don't have the latest Sodom but I have the latest Vader). Would be cool to see a new album for both. Never listened to Armoured Saint or Exhumer, and I haven't heard much Possessed. Would be interesting if they made new albums though. The big ones for me would be Killswitch Engage (2019), Trivium (2021), Havok (2020), Exodus (2021) and Anthrax (2016) 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻

I was just thinking the other day we were due for a new Sodom album. With the last one, I remember jamming that in the car all time running errands and picking up take out food during the pandemic. Armored Saint does indeed kill it live. Just saw them a few weeks ago with Queensryche - was a great show.
I have listened to Vader before . I like Sodom and there latest album .Death Angel is very good but they changed but still good. I have Armored Saint " March of the Saint" in vinyl . I love Testament. I've got every Testament album on mp3 . Overkill just about have every album but Overkill's album"Wings of War" seems like it's going in a different direction. I picky with my Death Metal but I enjoy a lot of Trash Metal like Xentrix British Thrash and German like some you mentioned including Destruction.
Decrepit Birth would be my DM choice, it’s been forever! (Or a new BrainDrill lol) Visigoth & EternalChampion for Trad Metal. In all these cases it’s been 5 years or more (except maybe Eternal Champion)
i’m waiting for Death Angel’s new one.. n there’s this band, Demilich.. they only released one album bk in ‘93 called ‘nespithe’… the band still doing gig.. just not sure why can’t they write new materials… would love to hv new album frm them.. n was abt to mention Nocturnus AD before realising they hv released a new one… 😅…. yup.. will get that latest Exumer.. i only hv till ‘the raging tides’.. n def will wait for their new one… not forgetting Corrosion of Conformity.. hopefully there’s a new one coming.. 😅

Great video as always, Darcy! I am a HUGE fan of Bullet! Glad to see someone else who loves them as well. They are criminally underrated. I have all 6 of their albums and an EP. Now that it's been 6 years since their last release, I'm starting to lose hope that they're still together, but let's keep our fingers crossed for a new Bullet album here in 2024! I'm also a huge fan of Exumer. It looks like, as of this very month, they're working on a new album, so hopefully we'll see it later this year! Testament needs to hurry up as well. I checked their website, and it looks like Testament's 2024 schedule is packed the rest of the way - basically from next month up through October/November. I sure hope they can find time to get a new album out. And finally, PLEASE can we get a new Death Angel album?? Of the "Next Big 4" in American thrash's classic era, Death Angel comes second only to Overkill for me. Both of them are in MY Big 4! I know Mark is busy with Kerry King at the moment, but I hope he can devote enough time to getting a new Death Angel album out. I have absolutely zero interest in the new Kerry King project, so I'm just trying to be patient! Cheers!

Helloween is doing one for 2025 im interested in hearing that. Running Wild obviously. Iron Maiden will probably be years off now unfortunately. I did hear a recent podcast where Louis Svitek days he has an unreleased Mindfunk album with no vocals which id love to hear but Pat Dubar seems to be well away from the scene.

Great video Darcy! Definitely agree on Onslaught, Death Angel and Testament, really need new ones from them! Generation Antichrist is my favourite album by Onslaught, I've been wanting to pick it up for years! Vader and Sodom I'm pretty new to, only have 1 album from each (Don't have the latest Sodom but I have the latest Vader). Would be cool to see a new album for both. Never listened to Armoured Saint or Exhumer, and I haven't heard much Possessed. Would be interesting if they made new albums though.
The big ones for me would be Killswitch Engage (2019), Trivium (2021), Havok (2020), Exodus (2021) and Anthrax (2016) 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻

Great video Darcy. Totally agree with your list of bands. One band i would love to see reunite and release new material would be german band Vanize. Great group fronted by Udo Dirkschneider's brother Peter who sounds exactly like him! I would love to see Vicious Rumors and Laaz Rockit release some new material. I was just thinking the other day we were due for a new Sodom album. With the last one, I remember jamming that in the car all time running errands and picking up take out food during the pandemic. Armored Saint does indeed kill it live. Just saw them a few weeks ago with Queensryche - was a great show.
I have listened to Vader before . I like Sodom and there latest album .Death Angel is very good but they changed but still good. I have Armored Saint " March of the Saint" in vinyl . I love Testament. I've got every Testament album on mp3 . Overkill just about have every album but Overkill's album"Wings of War" seems like it's going in a different direction. I picky with my Death Metal but I enjoy a lot of Trash Metal like Xentrix British Thrash and German like some you mentioned including Destruction.
Decrepit Birth would be my DM choice, it’s been forever! (Or a new BrainDrill lol)
Visigoth & EternalChampion for Trad Metal. In all these cases it’s been 5 years or more (except maybe Eternal Champion)

i’m waiting for Death Angel’s new one.. n there’s this band, Demilich.. they only released one album bk in ‘93 called ‘nespithe’… the band still doing gig.. just not sure why can’t they write new materials… would love to hv new album frm them.. n was abt to mention Nocturnus AD before realising they hv released a new one… 😅…. yup.. will get that latest Exumer.. i only hv till ‘the raging tides’.. n def will wait for their new one… not forgetting Corrosion of Conformity.. hopefully there’s a new one coming.. 😅

Great video as always, Darcy! I am a HUGE fan of Bullet! Glad to see someone else who loves them as well. They are criminally underrated. I have all 6 of their albums and an EP. Now that it's been 6 years since their last release, I'm starting to lose hope that they're still together, but let's keep our fingers crossed for a new Bullet album here in 2024!
I'm also a huge fan of Exumer. It looks like, as of this very month, they're working on a new album, so hopefully we'll see it later this year! Testament needs to hurry up as well. I checked their website, and it looks like Testament's 2024 schedule is packed the rest of the way - basically from next month up through October/November. I sure hope they can find time to get a new album out.
And finally, PLEASE can we get a new Death Angel album?? Of the "Next Big 4" in American thrash's classic era, Death Angel comes second only to Overkill for me. Both of them are in MY Big 4! I know Mark is busy with Kerry King at the moment, but I hope he can devote enough time to getting a new Death Angel album out. I have absolutely zero interest in the new Kerry King project, so I'm just trying to be patient! Cheers!

I did hear a recent podcast where Louis Svitek days he has an unreleased Mindfunk album with no vocals which id love to hear but Pat Dubar seems to be well away from the scene.

I think Artillery needs a new album. Their debut album "Fear Of Tomorrow'' ,a death/thrash metal masterpiece introduced me to metal.

I know it’s a long shot and will probably never happen but I want a brand new Guns N Roses album. An album with all new songs written by Axl, Slash, Duff and the rest of the current band, not the shitty Chinese Democracy reject tracks that they’ve released.

Yeah as far as the new GnR stuff that’s been put out, the only one I liked was “hard skool”. In regards to the new Crüe, I’m in a minority but I liked the song.
45 minutes is the sweet spot for album lengths, over 45 loses my attention and under 45 is not l9ng enough if it's a great album.
It depends on the band for me, but yeah 40-45 for most is perfect!
Please no more new Testament. Saw you on the Testament ranking. Cannot do that band after The Ritual!!
